This was my first read by Libby Kay and I enjoyed that it was two divorced people finding their way back to each other. It's not something you see often in romance.

Just like with my novella, I'm going to give myself 5 stars. ;)

I hope you all enjoy Falling Home, the first in the Buckeye Falls series. I had a wonderful time crafting this quirky small town and it's residents. While a holiday romance, I hope you'll enjoy this second chance story any time of year. :)

Falling Home is a sweet second chance romance is set in a small town in the magical holiday season. Where the snow is falling and trees are being trimmed and the magic of Christmas is everywhere. Well that is everywhere except where our female lead is at. The book is a good Christmas romance story. A quick read to be devoured in front of a fire snuggled up.
Ginny is dreading returning to the charming town of Buckeye Falls where she left it all behind but now her Dad is ill she has no choice but to return.
Max’s life has not been the same since she walked out of his life. Now she is back he vows to find a way to get her back in it. Can they put the past behind and make a new future? Can they ignite a spark that once was? All that and more will be answered when you grab a copy of this book. Why not grab a couple and give as Christmas gifts.
If small town second chance romances are your thing then Libby’s novels will do the trick.

Ginny Meyer is returning home to help her dad who is having surgery. Her plan is to stay by his side and avoid ex-husband Max Sanchez. She cannot deny she still holds a torch for him but seeing him would just hurt her more. The plan falls apart though when she sees Max and her dad makes it known he wants them together. Max knows he was absent in his marriage, he just wants Ginny back. Now she is home and he has an opportunity to win her back, can they forget the past and make a fresh start?

This was a fun one. I especially liked the fact that the author let the characters have honest emotions. I thought this book was filled with a lot of the emotions one would have about returning home to a past that held hurt, hope and more. Really good story.

Libby Kay is a brand new to me author. It seems her genre are warm, cozy, comforting, holiday romance stories that are incredibly feel good books that take place in Buckeye Falls, Ohio. Falling Home is a second chance romance between Ginny and her ex-husband Max. It was a throughly enchanting read that due to its size was so easy for me to devour, very quickly. I’m actually looking forward to reading the rest of her backlog of books!

Not for me. I’m not usually a big fan of romance anyway and this one was over the top cheesy and overall pretty boring. It was quite the flannel clad hallmark movie with an unbelievable plot.

Falling Home is available now in Paperback and eBook
⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐️ Book Review! You won’t want to miss this to wrap up the holiday season!

Meet the Author: When Libby Kay is not writing, she loves reading romance novels of any kind. Stories of people falling in love nourish her soul. Contemporary or regency, sweet or hot, as long as there is a happily ever after, she’s in love! When not surrounded by books she can be found baking, binging true crime shows, or on the road with her husband traveling as far as the bank will allow.

Synopsis: Ginny fled Buckeye Falls two years ago, leaving behind her now ex-husband Max and her dad, when she realized she couldn’t have her work and her love life. There just wasn’t enough time to have them both, someone or something would suffer. Max, devastated that Ginny up and left, takes on the responsibilities of the diner and befriends Ginny’s dad. Together they relish in what could have been. When Ginny comes back to town to help her dad recover from hip surgery, she gets roped into helping with the town’s Christmas Jubilee and Max is her planning partner. Will they both realize what they have missed out on these last two years?

Reader’s Thoughts: “Slip into this enchanting small town and stay awhile! You might just fall in love…” I did exactly that reading Falling Home! I was in love with Ginny and Max from the very beginning, rooting for them the entire time. Max loved his diner, had the most amazing cooking abilities, and sure could win a girl over with cheese…..yes cheese! Those enchiladas and grilled cheese had me wishing Max was in MY kitchen. And that red dress…I could only imagine how gorgeous Ginny was when she stepped into it. Makes my heart melt.

This second chance at romance, Christmas miracle was the perfect wrap up to the holidays for me. Libby Kay sure knows how to write, leaving no stone upturned. The story line was seamless, keeping the reader interested and wanting more, no questions unanswered. The characters were lovable, relatable, and down to earth. The story was predictable but did not deter me from continuing on. I can’t wait to see what else Libby Kay has in store for her readers.

Communication is key to a successful relationship. One of the many lessons that is learned throughout this holiday rekindling romance. Falling Home is a sweet story about a couple who lost their way. One was selfish and one was selfless, but neither properly communicated. Leading to the demise of their marriage. The author writes a story about their growth apart as well as together now that they are back in each other’s lives.
But will it stay that way or is it temporary?
Ginny and Max were best friends turned lovers in high school. Continuing into marriage, which despite everything they had quickly demised. Ginny wanted bigger things out of life. So when the opportunity presented itself she left and filed for divorce blind siding Max in the process. And he let her go, thinking this is what she wants, and it’ll make her happy.
Max had an opportunity to lay down roots in their hometown. With Ginny by his side he knew they could do anything. But when she left he was devastated and heartbroken. Despite all that he pushed forward by telling himself, this is what makes her happy. Now that she’s back in town to look after her father, he has no intentions of letting her go. He’s hoping to utilize the time they have working on the Jubilee together to sway her to give them another chance.
The growth the author displays is exceptional. It reflects two people who love each other, but struggle to communicate and open up. It shows the steps they take now in regards to one another as opposed to the flashbacks of their past. Showing how far they’ve come. But will it be enough?
Will Max get his wife back?
This is one of those curl up on a rainy/snowy day holiday romances that you won’t want to put down. So grab a blanket and sit on a nice comfy chair, couch, ect and jump in.

I really enjoyed this heartwarming contemporary romance with a second chance at romance theme. Set in the small town of Buckeye Falls, Ohio, during the festive holidays, Ginny Meyer returns to her small hometown from New York, to help her father recover from surgery. She does not plan on involving herself in any of the usual festive events, such as, Christmas caroling and cookie decorating, and she is definitely going to stay away from Max, her ex-husband. However, Ginny soon finds herself helping out with the Christmas Jubilee, along with Max. Meanwhile, diner owner Max Sanchez has spent the past two years missing Ginny, after she broke his heart and left town. He’s willing to do anything to spend time with her now that she’s back, and luckily he loves Christmas.
Max hopes that his charm, some holiday cheer and his famous cheese enchiladas will make Ginny reconsider leaving again. Whilst embracing the holiday season Max can sense that Ginny is warning to the idea of staying in Buckeye Falls, but he might need a Christmas miracle to convince her to take another chance on love. I loved the main characters and felt the chemistry between Max and Ginny really came across in this sweet story. The descriptive narrative brought the small town setting to life, and I loved the feel of Buckeye Falls and meeting all the townspeople. An enjoyable and engaging read, and it left me with a real festive feeling!

Tis the Season for Second Chances in Buckeye Falls, Ohio! Can this couple get a much needed Christmas Miracle? Ginny returns to her small hometown in Ohio from the big city, New York. She's helping her father who is about to go through hip surgery, with his recovery afterwards. She isn't looking for anything but a quite time at home with him, no Christmas stuff, and little to no interaction with the small town and it's main diner. Only problem is when she gets to her father's things are not what she thought at all!! Her father has weekly dinners with her ex, it seems he has a lady friend, and to top it off she is quickly roped into helping with the Christmas Jubilee! And guess who just happens to be her party planner!! None other than her ex, Max! Plans to avoid him and his diner completely just flew out the window there! Max has never moved on from his ex-wife. He has spent the past two years missing the very ex that left town with no word and completely broke his heart. He loves his diner and Christmas, so pairing up for the Jubilee gives him every reason to spend time with Ginny. Can he help her find her way back home to not only their charming small town, but to him as well? Buckeye Falls slowly worms it's way into her heart, but is that enough for her to move back from New York? Leave the career that she worked so hard on? Could she stay and maybe be with him? Again? Grab this sweet second chance romance! You won't be sorry you did!! This would be a wonderful beach read and I can totally see this becoming a movie!! Hallmark watch this author!! I am off to read the second book in the series!!

1/5 stars. Please see the bio for a full breakdown of the rating scale.

I feel bad for rating this so low as this is a book that I would never have picked up on my own, or if I did, I would have DNF very early on.

This book was only read because it was my book club pick.

Ginny and Max have been married for over a decade but recently got a divorce. For two years Ginny lived in NYC. She came home to help her dad with recovery from his hip surgery.

Max is still in love with Ginny and the entire town conspires to bring them back together. Their divorce was over Ginny wanting to do business work and for a job offer in NYC. So she just left. Ginny realizes her mistake and decides to move back home and remarry Max.

My favorite line in the entire book was, "this is real life, not a hallmark movie" with the runner-up "even in the fluorescent light his Adam's apple looked erotic".

Major issue with the book is how Ginny forgets where anything goes in her childhood home and is so shocked that her ex-husband (married for over decade) knows where they belong. Ginny also forgets that she needs SNOWBOOTS not her NYC high fashion boots. But never mind that NYC and OH both deal with snow for 6 months out of the year🤣

This book is prefect for those who enjoy romance novels. There is no spice outside of kissing and a brief line from Ginny's memory "he knew how to carve a turkey and make my toes curl"
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I really enjoyed this book, the story line, the characters, the setting, it was a great read! The setting of the town is cute with the main street, a diner without a name that Max owns, and all of the characters in a small town who know each other and everyone’s business. The characters are lovable and really easy to connect to. Max moved to town in high school and was made fun of for his stutter. Ginny calmed him and became his study partner and then girlfriend. Ginny’s mom left in high school so she grew up with just her dad, Harold. Max and Ginny were high school sweethearts, married, and then when Ginny was offered a job in New York she leaves Buckeye Falls and doesn’t look back. Ginny has been gone two years but Max and Harold still have dinner once a week and Harold goes to the diner often. Ginny is back in town because her dad has to have a hip surgery. She is unsure of seeing Max and when she does she starts to have all the feelings. Ginny still has feelings for Max but isn’t sure how he feels or if she should do anything about it because she will be moving back to New York after Harold recovers. Max is happy Ginny is home and still loves her. The story alternates between the character perspective so you get to know them even more as you read. This was a wonderful holiday romance!

Ginny is returning to her hometown to take care of her father as he recovers from surgery. What she is not there to do is to see her ex-husband and catch up with him (because there are still lingering feelings after all these years) or take part in any of the holiday activities that the town is known for. However, when she ends up planning the Jubilee, along with her ex, all those plans go out the window.

Max has missed Ginny since she left without looking back two years ago. He spends one night a week with her father as a way to still feel close to her. When he hears that she is coming back to take care of her father, his mind is all over the place. When they end up working the Jubilee with her, and all those feelings starting creeping back up, he knows he shouldn't get too excited because she has plans to return to New York. Can he get the Christmas miracle he needs to convince her to take a chance on them again?

This is a story of how love is not always enough. There needs to be communication and a balance between work and home. These were together for over a decade...and it took one rough year to tear them apart. When they are given their second chance, will they take it? Or do they truly believe their time has passed? I enjoyed this story and the supporting characters (Ginny's dad made me laugh!).

Falling Home: A Buckeye Falls Novel by Libby Kay

This isn't the first book I've read by the author. The author is one of my favorites this year. Falling Home had me hooked and it was very hard to put down. Falling Home is the first book in A Buckeye Falls Series. It is definitely worth a read.

Ginny hasn't been home since she divorced her ex husband. When her dad is due to have surgery she goes back to her hometown to take care of him. She doesn't plan on seeing her ex while she's in town, but it's a small town. What will happen when she finds the attraction is still there? The quote I chose for Ginny is: “You are all I’ve ever wanted, Max. I am sorry it took me this long to realize that.”

Max has been in the same town for the last two years. He stayed when he wanted to run. His father in law was part of the reason while the other was the diner. He hears his ex is back in town and wants nothing more than to see her. Can he get her back or will he be heartbroken again? The quote I chose for Max is: “I think you’re going to leave again. I think you’re not coming back from New York this time; at least not in a capacity to see me. I think I’m tired of always being the one left behind, so excuse me if I don’t want to prolong the inevitable. It is brutal being taken for granted like this.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This is the first book of Buckeye Falls series. Ginny had to return to her hometown to take care of her father before having surgery. But there is one thing that made her afraid to come back to her hometown. Meet her ex-husband again.

She just realised that her father and her ex-husband still having a good relationship. It is more hard to not recalling the past, she wants to avoid her ex whatever it takes, but she knew Buckeye Falls’s a small town, you’ll find anyone wherever you go, especially when he owns a restaurant.

Max is one of the sweetest book husband, and ya'll, he still calls her ex wife 'my wife' 😩. He's longing for his ex wife in a 2 years and when she came back to buckeye falls, he take it as the sign to get Ginny back.
Ginny is a hardworker, friendly, and i love the way she always remember what makes Max feel vulnerable.

What I missed in this book is their interaction between Ginny and Max in the beginning of this book whenever they got alone, someone is always interupting 😂, the story is a little bit slow to me and it kinda feels like the important issue is her father's surgery, I want more of their sweet moments but I can see that their main problem here is their lack of communications.

However i still love this book because it's super light and cozy story 💕

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntary.

Ginny is returning home from New York to take care of her father after he has surgery. She’s not looking to do anything outside of taking care of him during the Christmas holiday. This includes no time for her ex-husband, Max. That gets a little hard when he becomes her planning partner for the Christmas Jubilee.

Max has spent the last two years missing the woman who got away and broke his heart. He’s done everything he can to put his heart into the diner that may have played a part in their split in order to forget her, but when Ginny comes back home, it’s hard to put all the focus where it belongs. Now he’ll use any excuse he can to spend time with her.

Max can tell she’s starting to warm up to the idea of staying in town. He’s only got to convince her that he’s worth another shot.

Falling Home was a sweet story about love lost and finding love again. I don’t normally go for second chance romance when it involves marriage ending, but I thought I’d take a shot and I’m glad I did.

Ginny is stubborn, determined, and loves her father with every bit of herself. She’s willing to sacrifice so much in order to do what is best for her family. Max is also stubborn and determined to find a way to get back the woman he loves. The only mistake they both made was not communicating when it felt like things were falling apart.

This is a sweet romance that makes a great holiday read. But with a main character whose constantly cooking, you’re bound to get hungry.

This is a really sweet holiday romance that I really enjoyed. Its a story about second chances and happily ever after which always seem to happen around Christmas time. Our female lead is very reluctant and trys to avoid everything involving Christmas spirit but it will get to her as it gets to us all

Ginny is dreading returning to her small home town. her marriage ended when she left wanting bigger things. She left and ended her marriage to go affter her dreams and never look back until circumstances out of her control force her back to her home town and back to a past she thought she had left behind.
Max's life changed forever when Ginny left him. However his feelings for her never changed. Now she is back and he sees this as an opportunity to get her back. But have they matured and learnt enough to make a relationship work this tike around? Will the magical Christmas spirit relight the fire that once burned between them? Or will they realise that nothing had changed and they are still the same people they were when Ginny left?

It is a sweet holiday romance which is a perfect combination to be read in front of a cosy fire. It's a story that you cant help but get dragged into and you never want it to let go.

Falling Home
By
Libby Kay

Review:
Falling Home is the first book of the author Libby Kay that I have read. This book has hooked my attention from the first page itself.

Ginny Meyer is living a good life in New York. In her hometown Buckeye Falls, Ohio, her father lives. Ginny's father has hip surgery soon and he wouldn't be able to manage on his own for weeks. Considering her father as her responsibility, Ginny took off from work to take care of her father. She dreaded coming back to Buckeye as Max, her ex-husband lives here.

Max and Ginny both are workaholics. They had a decade of loving marriage but one rough year broke their relationship resulting in divorce. It has been two years since then but Max still considers Ginny as his wife. According to him, it doesn't matter what Ohio courts say, Ginny still feels like his wife. Read a copy of this book and find out for yourself what will happen in Buckeye on Ginny's return.

This is a gripping story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed this book a lot. The language used in the book is lucid and I was able to follow these stories easily. Add this book to your tbr. I am sure you would love it.

BOOK REVIEW: Falling Home by Libby Kay

I love reading romance novels. This time, I got my hands on Falling Home written by the author Libby Kay. It's a perfect book to pick as Christmas is near. Those who love reading small-town romances should definitely read this one.

The story features two workaholics Ginny Meyer and Max Sanchez. Max and Ginny have been married for years. A rough year in their marriage erased years of friendship and love. When he hears that his ex-wife Ginny is returning to Buckeye Falls, Max hopes to meet her. He is happy to know that Ginny is still single. This gives him hope to give a second chance to their relationship. When the two of them will be brought together for a common cause, will the past feelings of love dominate their relationship issues?

Libby Kay has done great work in this book. I appreciate the author's choice of title for this book. I am quite happy to read this book. Max and Ginny's character is something I loved. The plot of the story is unique. It's a book worth reading.

Title: Falling Home
Author: Libby Kay

Review:
I was looking for a romance novel so around Christmas I could be cozy in bed and enjoy a good romance book. But when I got my hands on the book Falling Home, the cover looked eye-catching and I couldn't wait till Christmas to read it.

I read this holiday romance story last week and I must say that I enjoyed this book a lot. The author has opened this book with Ginny Meyer who is living in New York. Ginny is a responsible daughter. She took time off from work to care for her old father who is in need of medical attention.

In Ohio, the word has reached Max, Ginny's ex-husband that she is back. It would be interesting to see whether they would give a second chance to each other?

Giving a second chance is not easy but it's even harder to leave the person with whom you have so many beautiful memories. Max is my favorite character. Libby's writing style is impressive. She writes in a flow that the readers can't miss to give all of their attention to her work.

Book: Falling Home
Author: Libby Kay
Rating: 4.5/5

Review:
I wanted to end this year with a sweet contemporary romance novel. Therefore I picked up Libby Kay's FALLING HOME.

This is the first novel of the author. Also, it's the first book in the Buckeye Falls book series. From the name of the series, you must have got the idea that the story is set in Buckeye Falls, Ohio. It's a small town that is also the hometown of our main characters Max and Ginny.

I enjoyed reading about Ginny's father spending time with Max while Ginny was in New York. It made me feel like Max cares for Ginny's family. The way Max loves and craves for Ginny really touched my heart. In relationships many ups and downs come but we should support each other in the difficult times. Read this book to know whether Ginny and Max will give a second chance to their relationship.

The writing is smooth and gripping. It's an unputdownable read that is well structured and has a strong plot. If you enjoy romantic small-town stories, this book is for you.

THIS BOOK RIGHT HERE IS HOLIDAY PERFECTION. this truly might become one of my favorite reads all year and I’m so glad I found this gem. This is a story about Buckeye Falls native, Ginny, returning home for a few weeks around Christmas to oversee her dad before during and after a medical procedure. She has stayed away from home for several years following the divorce to her long time friend and husband, Max. Ginny is a great worker at her amazing job in NYC which is what took her away from her husband to begin with who, at the time was also striving towards career goals. The return of Ginny is a delight for Max as he is so happy to be around her again and maybe get his second chance.
This was so heart warming I cried so much. I absolutely love everyone in this book. I felt like this was happening in real life I was so immersed in this story I read it in just a few hours. It’s not too Christmas themed that you can’t experience anything else. this has a perfect balance of Christmas holiday themes and real life genuine romance, drama, heartache and excitement. Absolutely worth a read.

Falling Home (Buckeye Falls Book 1) by Libby Kay is a great romance story

Ginny Meyer, a transplant from New York, goes back to her little hometown to assist her father in recovering from surgery, but she doesn't anticipate any issues. No decorating cookies, no Christmas caroling, and most definitely no time with her ex-husband, Max. The issue is that she has been enlisted to assist with the Christmas Jubilee, and one of her ex-partners is involved in the preparations. Her attempts to stay away from Max are now a vaporous cloud of glitter. Max Sanchez is much in love with his ex-wife, Christmas, and his diner. The woman who shattered his heart and moved out of town has been missing from his life for the past two years, and he will do everything to see her.

Every page had you hanging on every sentence and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a very unique story with even compelling people. The story really transports you into this world. I couldn’t put the book down.I can’t wait to read more from this series.

Ginny and Max were married, high school sweethearts. Everything was great until their dreams seemed to fork in different directions. Ginny followed her dream job to New York and Max stayed in their hometown. A couple years later, Ginny finds herself returning to her hometown to take care of her father. When she can't avoid running into her ex... she finds that her feelings for Max, while buried, are still very much there. Can they find a way back together again? Or is it too late for them to bring their paths back together again?

What a sweet story! I truly enjoyed reading this book. Ginny and Max's story is a beautiful one that isn't too far from reality to be believable. Both of them love the other deeply, but lost sight of their love by letting life get in the way. I love how Max never truly gave up on Ginny. Their heartache and struggle to find each other again is similar to a Hallmark story. This is a sweet, heartwarming read!

It’s only been a few weeks since I first read one of this author’s books, but having enjoyed it so much, I quickly dived in to another one. This is a really great second chance romance.
When Ginny Meyer returns home to look after her father following surgery, she is determined to keep as far away from her ex-husband Max Sanchez as possible. Her scheming father has other plans and does everything possible to make sure that the two spend as much time together as he’s sure there is most definitely unfinished business between the two.
Ginny and Max’s story is a really great read that gripped me from the very beginning and didn’t let me go right up to very end. I absolutely loved both Ginny and Max and there is also a great bunch of secondary characters who add so much to the story. In particular, I adored Ginny’s father. The love he has for his daughter shines through and he just wants her to have the happiest life possible.
A really great read that I’d definitely recommend.

Ginny Meyer had moved on after her divorce. New York! She has a steady job and a new life. Now she must return to Buckeye Falls, Ohio to care for her dad. The last thing on her mind is Christmas or her ex. Max Sanchez, a diner owner, loves his job. He also loves Christmas but the one thing he loves more is his ex wife. He always has even though she broke his heart when she left. Now back Ginny finds herself doing more than helping her father. Yes, so much more! I fell in love with this story before I read it as the author has written other stories I have enjoyed. So reading this second chance romance did not disappoint. You could not help falling for the characters. You will find yourself hoping for both Ginny and Max. The author has written another easy to follow romance that is well worth reading. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did. You will not find Spoilers in my review!

Falling Home is one of the cutest books I have read in a while (and I love that it is a clean romance). It is the first book in the Buckeye Falls series, and I am so excited to see there will be a 2nd book. At the end of the book, I was hoping CeCe would get her own story, and then there it was- a sneak peak at the 2nd book. This book is an adorable story with a happily ever after. It takes place in a small town in Ohio, and gives a second chance at love for main characters Max and Ginny. I loved that the story had lingering feelings and confusion for both characters, so it was not one sided. Max is a total sweetheart and anyone could fall in love with him. Ginny is a woman determined to not follow in her mother's footsteps, to the point that she may find herself there anyway. The supporting characters are wonderful, and I would love for Harold to get his own story as well. Highly recommend and look forward to book two.

Ginny had trouble juggling both love and a career in her hometown, so she left everything she knew - including her dad and her husband, Max. Max and his ex FIL become great friends in her absence and enjoy imagining what could have been while Max runs his diner - a great love of his in addition to Ginny.

When Ginny's father has a hip surgery, she shows up in town to help him recover, planning on only a short term trip and staying away from both Max AND his favorite Christmas pasttimes. No baking, no singing, no decorating - none!

In the course of Ginny's stay, and with the help of an entire town full of helpful, sweet and charming characters, she ends up in charge of a Christmas festival AND helping Max! Will she be able to resist his charms and the machinations of the whole town?

Utterly adorable, made me feel warm and fuzzy and christmas-y. The town and its residents immediately made me fall in love and I enjoyed from the first to the last page.

Falling Home by Libby Kay is a contemporary romance novel with which you will fall in love the moment you start reading it. Since I love reading romantic stories, I got my hands on this book.

It is the first installment in the Buckeye Falls book series. Ginny Meyer and Max Sanchez will capture all your attention in this book. The cover photo looks lovely. It shows Max in an apron as he loves his diner too.

This book inspired me to visit Buckeye Falls, Ohio. I appreciate the author's choice of location for the backdrop setting.

It is the debut book of the author and Libby has done wonderful work in her debut book. Those who are fans of holiday romance stories would be delighted to read this one. I enjoyed this book so much that I forgot the real world around me for a while. I wish to read many more books by the author in the future.
