An inspiration
I think this was an excellent book. It gets people to think about what is important in life and how to lead a life that matters. In the end it is what you do in life and how you interact with others that matters. It is not about material stuff. I have recently read all of Skip Johnson's books and have enjoyed them all. They are thought provoking.

A great read!
I read this book in one sitting. I could not put it down, held my interest to the very end. I was sad at the last page. I recommend this to anyone who needs to be inspired.

I received this book as an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my honest review. Several reviewers mentioned that they couldn’t put the book down. I get that. I had to force myself to take a break now and then just to absorb what I had read. I know that I will want to read this book again, more than once.
The Lottery Winner’s Greatest Train Ride is the first book I have read by Skip Johnson. It will not be the last. The tale that Phillip tells Juliette shows that great wealth is not the solution to our problems, it can be a problem in and of itself. It can also prevent us from finding the real solution. In absorbing the wisdom of his “guardian angels” Phillip found the wisdom for himself. He then passed that wisdom on to Juliette. And, now, to all who read the book. Reading about Phillip’s journey of self-discovery actually seemed to take me on my own journey of self-discovery.
I wished I knew people like Phillip, Ahmet, Jose, Big D and, especially, Patrick. Mentors who would show me the path to make some changes in my heart and mind. And part of the beauty of this book is that I actually fell like I have met them. They reminded me that I no longer live only for myself, but to bring good to others. I may not have won a lottery, but I have skills and talents that I can use for helping. Skip’s book showed me that and helped me to see that you will always receive much more than you give when you give what you have to others. It also showed me that some chance encounters are not really “chance” encounters. Juliette’s mishaps and delays put her in exactly the right place she needed to be to fulfill her assignment and hear what Phillip had to say to her. I have learned to “be on the look out” for appointments that point me to ways to improve someone else’s circumstances… and thereby my own.
In several ways this book changed my perspective on my life. Lottery Winner came along just when I was feeling overwhelmed by some of the circumstances in my life, and this lovely book reminded me that all loss is gain, trials will lead to joy. And that God can use the bad stuff in my life for good. I do not have to let the crazy of the world become my crazy. I don’t even have to let my crazy be my crazy. I can view it as part of the journey to what will be. I can change my view of what success means to me. And, I would recommend this book to others for those same reasons.

#2: READ A BOOK ABOUT A DREAM COME TRUE: THE LOTTERY WINNER’S GREATEST RIDE: WOW!! There was a lot of information packed into this short book of less than 200 pages! I felt like I was riding in the seat on the train right next to Phillip and Juliette. Each chapter kept you wanting to read the next before putting the book down. This uplifting book will definitely lead you down the path of self-discovery and help to guide you in prioritizing life lessons. Favorite passages included: 1) There is no shortage of money—only a shortage of courage and ideas 2) Life is not what we make of it….it is what we help other’s make of it 3) Each of us is a guardian angel to others….or at least we can be. I highly recommend this book to all ages….and it’s on Kindle Unlimited too.

This was a very thought provoking book. What would you do if you had won millions of dollars in the lottery? Would it change you, would it change others?

She meets the man on a train in Ireland, and an astounding interview takes place. And in the end...well, you should read it. It makes you think about things that are important in life, that money can't buy.

Truly inspiring!
Told as an interview with a reporter, this story should touch us all, especially those of us who are having difficulty and feeling something is missing. However, it often isn't what we think we need. Powerful story, told without preaching, of how others have managed and changed for the better after a crisis. Highly recommend!

unbelievably perfect

Change the world
