I don't read paranormal literature - seriously. The only other book even remotely close to The Hood's Alpha that I've ever read is Tacarra's Khan's Choice. I've read so few books in the genre that I know exactly what books I've read and when lol.
That said, I really enjoyed The Hood's Alpha by K. Nicole. The synopsis is short and confusing for someone who doesn't read paranormal literature, like me. So I had no idea what I was getting myself into with this novelette. Because it was engaging from the first page, I kept reading and was optimistic about the ending. And K. Nicole gave a reader like me exactly what I needed: well developed and likable characters, good writing, and a fun story - there were even a few spicy scenes. I highly recommend The Hood's Alpha to those who like paranormal stories, urban fiction, and novelettes.
Spice Rating: 2/5

Wow, this book was really good and I couldn't put it down. Mr.Dolph is ALPHA!!! Man Ashine was thirsty at first. Glad she found her mate. Lobo Jealousy is what lead to his karma and to do what he did and think he got away with was something else. It didn't take Dolph long to adapt to his new life and find his mate. Dolph mom was wrong for keeping his father away and not telling him the truth about that part of his life. K.Nicole you definitely came out swinging this book and truly enjoyed every part of this book. Can't wait to see what you have coming next. 🤗
All I can say is WOW! I loved this novella so much! They chemistry with the characters and it was straight to the point! I love books like these. Everyone got the ending they deserved. I’m falling in love with this author’s pen more and more!
The Hood’s Alpha is an extremely fast paced shifter novella. Dolph’s heritage and his role is unexpectedly revealed and he is shocked into disbelief. However, the full moon forces him to accept his new fate. The tone of this book works for me. An urban paranormal book is just gonna captivate me every last time. This book is an enjoyable read. I like the glimpses of Dolph learning to navigate his new roles while experiencing pushback from current members. This being the author’s first attempt at a paranormal book, I think she did a good job. However, this being a novella hindered the story from being a great read for me . With there being multiple storylines and POV’s , this story would’ve benefited from being longer. This would’ve given the author the opportunity to flesh out scenes and completely answer some unanswered questions. I also felt some of the connections should’ve been introduced in a spin off. There are some grammatical errors on page, but they don’t take away from enjoying the story. I hope she rethinks this being her last paranormal book because I would really love to read more stories from this pack
Dolph was already a leader in the hood, respected, nobody wanted smoke with him, he was cocky, fearless and spoke his mind. He had no idea he had wolf genes from his unknown father. Full moon at age 21 took on a whole new life. Shifting for the first time, the unknown woman in his apartment, endless hunger, headaches, heightened sense of smell and a bulkier body. Somebody’s got some explaining to do but moms won’t take accountability and grams got dementia. The Packs got him but there’s some haters out there plotting on his alpha status. Good read!
I love reading this book! I hope you write a part two or a series on this group of characters. I hope this isn't your last time writing paranormal because you did such a great job. This is my first time reading any book by you and it was very well put together the characters and the storyline flowed... I just loved it! I hope when I check back you've written more on this particular one. But while I wait lol I will check out your other books as well.🙏🏾
Dolph was a natural born leader. Well respected in his hood. He was in disbelief that he had wolf genes pasted down from his father and alpha until the full moon where he first shifted. He accepted his fate. It didn’t take long for him to find his mate in Laika. Ashina was thirsty as hell lol but she was a true rider and loyal. Glad she found her mate. Lobo and Tobias got what was coming to them. Hating asses. This was quick and fast paced. Ms. Nicole you should really think about exploring more in the paranormal world. For this to be your first it was good.
4.5 - Awww! I really enjoyed this read and how the ending wrapped up. Especially with Larry showing up again. Dolph really stepped up in his new role like it was truly meant for him. Him and Laika were too stinking cute. Honey, that spicy scene was so steamy. Lobo had shocked me. That was a nice twist in there K. Nicole because I would have never guessed. Now Ashina had me worried like girl wipe that drool up. She turned it around and made me proud. No matter what that girl was loyal. Everyone got their HEA and Dolph giving back was the cherry on top.
This was a good short story, I wasn’t expecting the plot but I love a good book like this. Dolph and Laika were so cute, it didn’t take Dolph long to understand his purpose and him and Laika came together at the right time. Ashina definitely was thirsty 🤣🤣🤣 and Lobo was delusional and I am glad who gave him his karma. Jealousy is something and it will make people do some dumb stuff.
Enjoyed this story; wish it was a little longer but it was short and to the point not lingering on and on losing it's interest, this story held my attention to the very end, wish Dolph mother would have allowed him to get to know his father but understandable about the way she was thinking, the way he was brought up taught him to be humble which made him that much more stronger.
This book gave you everything you needed in those 84 pages. I loved how the MMC, Dolph, stayed true to his human side while slowly embracing his werewolf side. He was definitely a hood alpha long before he became the pack's alpha.
I definitely had a lot of love and respect for Dolph. His cool demeanor, love of his community, and himself make Dolph a force to be reckoned with.
I’m an avid paranormal reader, like those are my kind of books and I’m so sad the author doesn’t want to create more because this would’ve been a bomb ass series. Just the back story of roan and corin in my mind is like woshh. Anywhoo dolph was giving bde within the first few minuets and he did not disappoint. Despite him not believing at first he came through clutch with the logical thinking instead of emotional. It’s worth the read and another book lol
The story was pretty good. I liked it. The only thing that needs to be remembered is that when writing about shifters, humans and animals have different characteristics. Wolves do not have arms and fist, they have legs and paws. Aside from that error, I enjoyed the story. I love shifter paranormal stories, especially about werewolves. Good job.
This was a quick paranormal read but you didn’t miss anything….Adolph never being raised as a shifter was in disbelief of his newfound abilities and wandering why his dad never made himself known but understanding that may have saved his life due to shifty uncle and Lobo hope there’s a part 2
Who said you can't be hood and half wolf lol yasssss dolph was most definitely showing them who was in charge I love a good short story that gets right to the point this book was amazing wasn't expecting this to have a powerful punch in glad they found their mates cause its nothing like it always remember them snakes really be close to to you
Being a hood dude it nice, but a hood alpha is nicer. Dolph is just a guy tryna make it in the hood. Not knowing that he is an Alpha by blood. Come the full moon, he soon realizes that he has a pack, a mate and a couple of weaklings trying to take his spot.
This book got me screaming for MOOORE!!! I HATE THAT IT WAS SO FAST PACED BUT IT WAS A GOOD READ. I LOVE THE CHARACTERS AND THE SET. YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB. If u ever do another paranormal fiction story I will be the 1st on it
4.65 good. I really liked how bold and different the author made the wolves. How normal the pack life was as well... for this yo be her first one I really enjoyed it.
Last what?! lol not paranormal lol. But this was so good. And even though it was fast paced, it didn’t take away from the story. We need more from the Silver Moon and Dark Moon packs. I can see them joining together as one.
Don't even know where to start. To say this was your first it was amazing. I'm so happy that Dolph and Ashina found their mates. I'm glad that Uncle got what was coming to him
This was a dope book I really enjoyed reading this Actually the type of books I go for and this one was good from beginning to end I read non stop I'm wishing it didn't end lol but I know you cooking up some good for us to read next Good job on this book
Although it was fast paced, it was a good read. It had the potential to be more but it really was alright for her 1st paranormal and hopefully it not the last time she dip into this category. I like the way she mixed the hood in.
I love this book at first I was kinda on the fence until I started reading it I would love to see more of they story Keanu and his mate do they have kids what do the future holds etc I need a little more from my peps I hated for the book to end
This was a really good book I need more it was well written I love reading books like this I really hope u reconsider writing more of these types of books or do spin off of what happened later...
I usually don’t like writing reviews but I love hood paranormal books. I need more about Dolph , Kenu and they mates. For it to be your first time Ms Nicole Don’t stop give us more
This was a short & entertaining paranormal read. Dolph never knew who really was outside his hood. Unexpectedly turning into an alpha came with a lot of responsibilities, a new love & trying to stay alive. Enjoyed it!
Sorry and Sweet!!!! Just enough of EVERYTHING. I read this book in about 2 hours and it didn’t miss a beat. Loved the relationships between the people and the packs. Good job K. Nicole. Now we need a part 2.
