Erika Vanzin is the Italian Amazon bestselling author of the rock star romance Roadies Series. After traveling around the world with her husband, she settled down in Seattle, enjoying the marvelous Pacific Northwest. She brought from Italy a couple of suitcases, fifteen boxes full of books, and her most successful novels translated into English. While she is not writing, she enjoys reading books, watching the Kraken hockey games, and working on DIY projects.
Forced proximity/roommates, age gap, grumpy sunshine, slow burn, and a “nobody touches her but me” moment…I loved absolutely everything about this book!
Probably what I love the most about Erika’s books are the character she creates. They’re always so well rounded, have compelling backstories, and have clear reasons for why they are the way they are. And this newest book was no exception to that. Both Aaron and Dakota grew so much as people during the book thanks to their relationship first as friends, then as lovers. I was rooting for their relationship from the first moment they met!
I really enjoyed the little surprise twist towards the end of the book, which turns out being the conflict in their new and budding relationship. It was something I definitely didn’t anticipate but really added a layer of complexity to both Aaron and Dakota as characters.
Also, it was fun to see Aaron’s connection to the Jailbirds. While this is completely a stand-alone, you’ll enjoy a little cameo in this book if you’ve read her rockstar romance series.
Anyway, such a fun read for me and I cannot wait for the next installment! I think I’m going to like this series even more than the rockstar series, and that’s saying a lot!
Thanks to the author for gifting me a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
THE PRODUCER may have just become my favorite age gap romance. It’s a collection of my favorite tropes: forced proximity, roommates, friends to lovers, billionaire romance. If that sounds like something you enjoy as well, I highly recommend checking out this book (and while you’re at it, this author’s backlist because her romance books are among my favorites).
It took me a little longer to warm up to this book then when I read Backstage, the first book in the author’s Roadies rockstar romance series, and it boils down to characters. Aaron’s initial emotional detachment and Dakota’s party girl antics didn’t make me feel an immediate connection to them, but I should have known Erika Vanzin had many surprises up her sleeve. Once the forced proximity story takes off and these characters started opening up to one another, I realized my first impression of them couldn’t be further from the truth. Both of them revealed vulnerabilities that triggered my protective instincts, and I was falling in love with them as they were falling in love with each other. The chemistry between Dakota and Aaron jumps off the page from their very first interactions. I loved that the age gap (13 years) wasn’t the biggest obstacle in their relationship, but that the challenge was really for them to learn to overcome their differences and overcome their insecurities. I was rooting for their happy ending!
Also, I was very happy that one character got what they deserved. If you know, you know.
Though The Producer is for all intents and purposes a standalone, there is a tie between this book and the Roadies series. It doesn’t spoil anything for you if you haven’t read those books, but when the cameo happened I was squealing! This to say, all of Erika Vanzin’s characters steal your heart and I definitely recommend reading everything this incredible author writes.
Thank you to the author for gifting me an early copy. All opinions are my own.
Did I just read another age gap romance and loved it? Yes, I did.
Having read other books by Erika Vanzin, I knew I would have enjoyed this. And I mean, it’s constellation of some of the best tropes. Forced proximity because the protagonists wind up becoming roommates? Check. Billionaire romance because the MMC is a successful producer? Check. Friends to lovers, which is one of my favorite tropes despite the fact it’s so underrated? Check.
I had a great time reading this book. Dakota is not the usual type of female protagonist I love immediately, but once I started to know her better and she started forming a connection to Aaron, I wound up liking her a lot. Aaron…okay I loved him from the start. He’s just perfect for me! What I loved most about him and Dakota together is that their thirteen year gap wasn’t the greatest obstacle to their romance. Dakota is an actress in the TV show Aaron is producing. People being people, it’s understandable how someone could be afraid to give off the wrong impression in this sort of relationship and start a gossip chain that will only end with feelings getting hurt and careers ruined. And because of this, I feel like the reception of their relationship was a little too easy. Everyone seemed to accept Dakota and Aaron too fast—and while it’s beautiful and it would be amazing if these things happened, it’s also a little hard to believe.
Oh and the cameo from the Roadies series…I squealed! Such a treat for us fans of the series!
Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy. Opinions are my own.
Love this one the most! I am a sucker for age gap romance, this one slowly took my life. If you're a fan of that and slow burn sexy romance you have to give this a shot.
Aaron is a sexy Hollywood producer and a man that likes to get his game on. He's not one to held back on any aspect, his father has giving him the task of "babysitting" a young actress for the sake of their reputation and to get the actress back on track. I loved Aaron's sexy demeanor, his growth thru out the book especially after his dad passes and he has to take charge (more than he already does!).
Dakota is young and unfortunately gets pulled into this mess of paparazzi event that could completely mess up her career and Aaron's company's reputation. Dakota is not the dumb actress that the tabloids have made Aaron believe to be. She worked to get her reputation back and prove to Aaron and the rest of the world that she isn't just some ditzy actress.
I absolutely loved the dynamic between Aaron and Dakota. This relationship has to be my favorite that the author has brought to life. Aside from having great love interest energy, there are SO many secrets unravel in this book. I was so hooked and in love from the first chapter. Cant wait to see more!
Huge thanks to Erika for sending me a copy. All opinions are my own.
Aaron is a powerful producer in the movie industry: the boss of the boss. He is so focused on his job that he is known around as "the butcher". So when Dakota, the 23 year old main actress of his most popular tv show, starts causing drunk scenes at parties and ends up being the spotlight of the tabloids he will take whatever means necessary to get her in line. Even if that means forcing her to live under his watchful eye.
The romance starts off with forced proximity, as Dakota has no choice but to go live with the producer, otherwise she will ruin her career. I LOVE the roommates-to-lovers trope, and combined with the forbidden love trope it makes it even more juicy🔥. The romance is adorably sweet at first, as the friendship and trust is built. Every interaction between them I found myself wiggling my toes guessing who would make the first move.
Also turns out Dakota is an avid reader of indie authors, specially romance fantasy with pointed ears, so I loved how much this story and it's characters resonated with me.
Read if you enjoy: age gap, roommates to lovers, friends to lovers, forbidden romance, forced proximity, romance at work❤️🔥
Erika Vanzin targets all of the feels in “The Producer:Aaron”.
An age gap story that begins with a slow-burn and escalates into a sexy romance that has a lot of heart.
Aaron is strong, powerful and in control of himself and his life as seen by all on the outside. However, on the inside, he is still a boy who wants his fathers respect and approval. It is something he has been working towards his whole life to be able to take the helm of the broadcasting company his father owns. Unfortunately, new ideas don’t go over so well with dear old dad.
Dakota is a young woman who is a highly recognized actress. She can set the small screen fire and her fans adore her. On the flip side, she is not as self assured off camera. She never knows who likes her for herself or if it’s just what she can bring to the table with her money and fame. In her attempt to deal with her peers she takes a sip of alcohol or, in her case, too many sips to help loosen up. She soon finds out that being out of control gives the paparazzi a lot of ammunition and it doesn’t bode with her boss and for her future.
Dakota has had an assistant before but she’s run her off with her childish behavior. It’s time for her to grow up or be fired. Aaron is now given the task of overseeing her actions. She goes to live with him in his Hollywood villa for six months under which no one is to know. All they have to do is survive under the radar and keep out of the paparazzis scrutinizing eyes.
Aaron and Dakota soon find out that they may be sixteen years apart in age but that doesn’t mean they can’t learn from one another. She shows him how to relax and live in the day to day moments while he teaches her how to survive in this great big world while still being true to herself.
This book is about learning who you are, defining who you want to be and taking actions to make it possible.
Aaron is the son of a well-known Hollywood Producer and player. Everything Aaron has done thus far has been to run the family business once his father steps down. In the meantime, Aaron has created a name for himself and has done things by his rules. Those rules are well known and have earned Aaron the nickname “The Butcher.” That includes starting a streaming project and division. This venture is proving that he knows what he is doing and doing it without his father’s interference.
The one snag in this production of a third year show is the leading actress, Dakota. She’s young and unfortunately, a snag because of the drinking and showing up in the tabloids for her escapades. While this shouldn’t be an issue theoretically, Aaron’s father now seems to have a serious issue with it and is threatening to shut down his division if he doesn’t get this actress under control.
Aaron has no other choice other than to place the 23 year old starlet in his home, babysitting for a better word, to make certain she stays out of trouble and doesn’t cost him his project. Reluctantly, he goes along with the plan and is soon very surprised by what he finds.
When Dakota shows up at his house, he immediately recognizes there is an attraction but due to the more than ten year age difference between them, he will do everything in his power to keep his distance and make her aware of it as well.
But Dakota is not a typical 23-year old and surprisingly, not the airhead that everyone makes her out to be. As he spends more time with her, he realizes there are a lot of similarities they share and are more kindred spirits than either would have considered.
Dakota is a young woman who has made some mistakes, mostly trusting people she shouldn’t, and that soon comes to a head when things begin to spiral out of control
There is also a secret that could break them both when it is discovered.
Upon the death of Aaron’s father, more secrets are revealed that can tear Aaron and Dakota apart. Will these obstacles keep them apart? Or will it show them both that they need each other and that together they can accomplish what both want and desire?
The Producer: Aaron is another incredible book by the talented Erika Vanzin. While it is not part of her Roadies Series (if you haven’t read them, you need to immediately), this book is part of the next series that has some characters from that series.
This new series, beginning with Aaron is part of The Hunting Club. If this book is any indication of what this new series will be, hang on for one thrilling and deliciously sexy ride. The story is well written, drags you into the world she’s provided and you will find yourself loving every second. Upon receiving this book, I had to read it in one sitting as I would not put it down.
Another great read from Erika. Aaron, the son of a Hollywood producer and tyrant. Aaron has developed a streaming for TV company within his father's business while he waits for his father to retire and leave him the company. His father despises the part of the business his son runs successfully and can't wait for the opportunity to tear it down. Dakota the very young star of Aaron's most successful show. Lonely and being used by the only "friends" she has, Dakota is earning herself a bad name, showing up on set drunk and making a name for herself in the tabloids because of her bad behaviour off set. The solution it seems is for her to move into Aaron's house for the remainder of the filming schedule so he can babysit her and make sure she behaves. As they spend more time together forced or otherwise Aaron discovers that, young as Dakota is, she isn't the silly, brainless, spoilt diva he thought she was. They become more attracted to each other and in spite of a few silly moments she starts to realise there is more to life than staggering through it drunk, and he that there is more to life than work. It seems Dakota has a secret that may wreck everything they have come to mean to each other and when Aaron's father dies things become so much worse.. Will the two survive the secrets and betrayal or will they have their world torn apart forever. Erika will have you galloping to the end of the story to find out if the pair can survive the problems other people have thrown into their path. Will it destroy them or make them stronger. Read this amazing book and find out. You will meet Aaron's brother, who walked away from their father many years before and features in the brilliant Roadies Series that came before this book. You absolutely need to read this, Erika never fails to deliver amazing reads. I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
I'm a big fan of age gap romances and thoroughly enjoyed reading this one! It was a slow burn romance that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Aaron is a widely successful producer, but he has the emotional range of a teaspoon. He plays by the rules and get things done. Dakota is the opposite. She's 23 and a party girl, so now Aaron has to babysit her.
I love close proximity and this one delivered. Can't wait to read more from Erika!
The Producer: Aaron is a great age gap romance starring of course Aaron, a very attractive Hollywood producer and Dakota, a younger party girl actress who is getting lots of negative publicity in the tabloids. Aaron is tasked with cleaning up her image by "babysitting" her in his home.
Tension, attraction, steam, secrets all make for a wonderful and meaningful story. The characters are "real" and the storyline is well thought out and expressed.
The Producer: Aaron has a good and captivating storyline. Solid, interesting characters. I rushed through the this story it was so good. Even better when I reread it.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Recensione
Storia bellissima e scritta bene!
Come andrà a finire? Come si comporterà Dakota? Per scoprirlo non vi resta che leggerlo…
I am a huge fan of Erika's rockstar series and here we have an offshoot featuring the hot, sexy, and top mover and shaker in Hollywood producer Aaron in an age gap romance with his employee rising star Dakota. I was totally engrossed in this story right from the start though I wondered for a long time what Aaron's relationship to the Jailbirds was but it all made sense later on in the book and mystery solved.
Aaron is the boss that everyone is terrified of little do they know the struggles that he has with his father who really is a nasty piece of work He will never appreciate Aaron's work no matter what he achieves, it is always never enough, but Aaron is holding out for the ultimate prize when his father dies. Dakota is the young star in Aaron's portfolio, outwardly confident, poised, talented and hardworking but inwardly she lacks confidence and covers it up by getting drunk at parties and becoming fodder for the paparazzi.
Aaron decides to do something totally against his nature but necessary to keep his company and his actress on line, he makes her move into his house so that he can keep an eye on her. Becoming room mates has an amazing but totally unexpected effect on both of them, they both begin to reveal their true selves to each other while the sexual tension grows. Dakota teaches Aaron to relax more and not take his life so seriously and he learns that she is a girl who is wise beyond her years. Dakota also grows and learns that she does not need people around her who use her because of her fame. These two are so good for each other and so sweet together and it was wonderful to watch them connect and grow together. I totally fell in love with Aaron the perfect boyfriend and though I was not a big fan of Dakota in the beginning I came to really like the person she turned into as the story went on.
A well written and entertaining story from Erika, I loved it and am looking forward to the next one in this new series.
Dakota and Aaron have a hard fought romance. Between the forced living spaces and the age gap, their personalities clash from the beginning.
It takes them a while, but they eventually act on all the sexual chemistry brewing between them regardless of his position of power as the producer of her show. Especially since she was a star before their relationship began.
Overall I definitely liked the characters, and I get the drama behind the father and son relationship, but the overall story was a bit drawn out before concluding.
I am new to this author and will definitely check out more of her work!
Great cover and book blurb got my attention Age gap Uptight hero - free spirit heroine Hollywood setting - producer and star actress Trouble with the paparazzi equals babysitting said actress Great characters She isn’t as she seems …
I could not put this book down - great storyline and characters !
Loved it !

This was a cute and sexy romance that I enjoyed reading in a few hours. It has a couple of twists, one is rather odd but, meh. It works though and gives the plot something more, the couple has a bit more conflict to work through, and so it gets to be a bit less flat. It's cute, like I've said, and it was a fun, quick read.
I received an ARC copy via hidden gems and am voluntarily leaving this review.
This is a steamy, age gap, employee/boss romance. It is a standalone book. Ms Vanzin uses very descriptive language which draws the reader into the story. Her characters and story line are well developed which makes for an engrossing read.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I liked the producer which was Aaron and Dakota’s story. It was an entertaining, slow burn. I received a copy via HG and voluntarily leaving this review.

It was good. It is an age gap Hollywood, boss/employee romance. Aaron has been a top producer for his father's broadcasting company. Aaron started a streaming franchise under his father's company. Thr streaming franchise's top producing show, Shadows of Hunters, stars Dakota. Dakota has had drunken episodes made public in the gossip magazines. As a way to control her behavior, she is persuaded to move in with Aaron to save her job. They both have preconceived notations of each other but the soon learned their were more. They started a friendship. There was an underlying attraction. They both resisted the attraction because of their jobs and age difference.
It is a cute rom-com. I liked the Dakota and Aaron. Dakota was an old soul that was trying to find her way. Aaron was successful but he emotionally stunted. They bring out thr best in each other.
Aaron frustrates, when he continues to string Dakota along. This was push & pull, Dakota puts it all out there, Aaron plays it close to his chest. When they get on the same page- explosive! I struggled with the writing style, still a good read.
