I was a fool for letting Rory, Cam, and Link get inside my head. I believed their lies, the twisted history they fed me when I was weak and afraid. But that’s all over. They might have traded me away like I was nothing, but it opened my eyes to the truth. I was never Bisha’s baby, and now I get to choose who I am, and who I want to claim as my own.

Like Arben Marku, the assassin who tended me in my heat and stole my heart. He’s back to make me his mate, and the bond we share unlocks a rare omega power in me. A power that helps me rescue my fake stepbrothers’ missing mate.

But Kelly and I discover a bond of our own. We’re omegas in an alpha’s world, but together, we have the potential to be so much more. And when he learns what his pack brothers did to me, he vows to make them pay.

But there are bigger monsters to slay than my fake stepbrothers. The Head Alpha of the East Coast might not be my father, but he still plans to use me for his own ends. And just by being close to me, those I love are in the firing line more than ever.

A dark not-so-sweet omegaverse with growly alphas, omega heat and messy knots!

Plot ⭐️⭐️.5
Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Vibes ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Multi 1st person POV - mostly from our FMC though

Book 1 review
Book 1: 4⭐️
Book 2: 3⭐️
Overall: 3.75⭐️
(don't come at me, I know that's not how math works but 3.5 seems too low overall)

Deadly Ties is the 2nd half of the Blood Brothers duet that completes Elvi and her men's story. This sequel is action packed and plenty spicy! I felt the connection between Elvi and Arben the most but her relationship with Kelly was also pretty special (which BTW - Kelly is a male omega and Link's mate - at the end of book 1 Link tells Elvi that Kelly is their sister who's an omega being held captive which confused the hell out of me because it's told from Link's POV and unless I missed it, even in his inner monologue there's no indication that he was lying in order to convince Elvi to help him. Hence my confusion on who tf Kelly was - a male omega who's Link's mate or a female omega who is all 3's sister).

While the timeline can be confusing at certain points, it has some good spice and is entertaining enough. Both books are/will be available through KU so if you're looking for an angsty, action-packed, steamy omegaverse that you can just turn your brain off for, then you will probably enjoy this duet!

Critiques (mild spoilers):

Unfortunately for me, I didn't feel like there were enough apologies/groveling coming from Rory, Link, and Cam. They fucked up haaaard in book 1, especially Link. But as Elvi is the one to eventually rescue Kelly and subsequently form a deep connection with him, it forces everyone to work together against the common enemy. While the tensions remain on high throughout the book, apologies kind of get pushed to the side as they have to focus on survival and I felt bad for Elvi who had all this wrongdoing to her but was receiving barely any sincere apologies that weren't being thrown at her while she was horny and needing physical touch per her designation, consequently clouding her judgement and making her more accepting of them.

The relationships between Kelly and the men were also a little too underdeveloped for me. With the timeline being confusing and hard to follow, it wasn't very clear that Kelly had romantic or sexual feelings for Cam and Rory in the past and so these new declarations of love and desire felt like they were out of the blue. I guess it didn't help that the 3 of them (Link, Rory, and Cam) call each other "bro" which is the most unromantic term of endearment lol (IMO). Their reunion after Kelly's rescue just felt lackluster, no rushing to hug or kiss or really anything other than “Damn, Kelly. You look like shit, bro!” When the entire purpose of book 1 being trying to find Kelly, I just felt disappointed (it should be noted that only Cam and Rory are present for his rescue, Link (his mate) is not there so this isn't the worst reunion).

There were several sexy scenes throughout the book but the final heat scene (well, the final scene of the book in general) is frustratingly fade to black after a few passionate kisses.

The book should have just been about Rory, Arben Kelly and Elvana. Their chemistry? Off the charts and was the saving grace for this book. Plus, the only reason Rory gets a pass is because I feel like he genuinely loved Elvana and he was the only one who didn’t want to lie to her from the start, AND he outwardly claimed Kelly like he wanted to years ago.

Link put her through SO much shit last book and literally gets away with it. Doesn’t grovel whatsoever and only says pretty meaningless words TO KELLY, who wasn’t even there for said bullshit and even he knows Link’s words don’t mean anything! Has to fight his feral side just to be near Elvana and can barely hold a conversation with her, left his “brothers” in the dark about Kelly wanting them all… but sure let’s add him to the pack and we’ll work our way through it? WHAT?! He wasn’t even trying to hide that the only reason he was going along with everything to save the omegas was because of Kelly! He doesn’t give af about Elvana, just if she could convince the rest of his brothers/mate to make him leave. 😂 They should have kicked his ass to the curb, Kelly sure seemed like he was up for it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cam was forgotten. Plain and simple, he had ONE chapter and was barely mentioned/talked to throughout the whole book.

The drama amped up at almost 85%, I started thinking it was going to be a trilogy (which oddly enough I would’ve been fine with, that way we can see the relationships build up) and then everything just happened so quickly and there were many wtf moments because we got fated pack randomly thrown in, Arben is some different breed of shifter, Kelly’s uncle was a big deal?, then the Quentin guy who was suppose to be dead…wasn’t, and her fake fathers death was soooo anticlimactic. I don’t even friggin know. The timeline got wonky real quick too.

And to top it all off? No goshdang epilogue to see how their future panned out!

I had such high hopes for this because I loved the first book but dang, I’m so so disappointed and will not be adding this duet to my bookshelves like I originally planned.

Fated Pack

It was good to see Elvana get her HEA. She was feed so many lies in Book 1 not to mention still pining for the Alpha Assassin Arben who helped her through her first heat but never wanted any type of relationship with her or so she thought. After being betrayed by Link, Cam and Rory it was Arben who came to her rescue.

There was Alot to unpack in this story. So many secrets were revealed. Some relationships were deepened as well as new ones formed. Elvana's harem was working hard to mend their broken relationship which only took another hit after Elvana saved their original mate Kelly. As an omega Kelly had an instant connection and attraction to Elvana and after hearing about the damage his mates caused he chose Elvana over them causing Link, Cam and Rory to work overtime to gain the trust of both of their omegas.

Expect character growth, knotting, mating bites, heats and second d chances as Elvana and her mates new and old work together to take down the sadistic Head Alpha of the East Coast as well as saving as many enslaved Omegas in the process. It was a long and tedious road cor Arben, Link, Rory and Cam to find their HEA with Elvana and Kelly but as a newly Fated Pack their learned from their mistakes and proved that they could be the Alphas their Omegas needed and deserved.

Along with book one of the duet, Deadly Ties brings us the darker side of “sweet” omegaverse, which is my personal favorite of the genre. I loved this second installment and conclusion to the story.

Arben and Kelly stole the show. Arben, the silent assassin protector who always thought he was not good enough for Elvana. Kelly, not the sister Link had claimed him to be but a bonded male omega, Link’s bonded omega.

The angst within the pages was delicious. I enjoy my books with a high level of angst, especially in the case of the enemies-to-lovers trope, and this book delivered. I could have used a little more groveling on the men’s part, from the layers upon layers of lies they fed Elvana and, specifically, from the abhorrent way Link treated her, but I was ultimately content with the outcome.

This book was significantly higher burn than the first. We get the omegaverse favorites – mating bites, claiming in human and animal form, heat scenes, nesting, and knots. With two omegas, there is no shortage of needs to be met. There are MF, MM, MMFM scenes, and more.

The duet ends here with a HEA. A very satisfying HEA for Elvana and her pack.

Reverse Harem + Mates + Omegaverse +Multi- POV

Spoiler free review

*Definitely must read the first book Twisted Lies to understand Deadly Ties!*

Absolutely adored this book and all the characters in it. Deadly Ties picks up right where Twisted Lies left. This series includes the omegaverse, fated mates, enemies-to-lovers, slow-burn, & HEA tropes that were written so well. In the second installment, we finally meet Kelly and learn more about Arben and oh god, I love them to death. So many new relationships formed and I was completely invested all the way in this fast-paced reverse harem duology! Elvana, Rory, Cam, Link, Kelly, & Arben stole my heart from page 1. This is a must read if you're looking for a spicy reverse harem novel!

SPICE 4/5 🌶🌶🌶🌶
This spicy romance novel was literally written so well. There was a perfect amount of spicy scenes and a good plot. Good plot+ Spicy scenes? Absolutely perfect. With powerful alphas ready to worship their omega nothing can go wrong 😉

Reasoning for 4 stars
I just wish there was a little bit more begging/apologies or something from Rory, Cam, & Link. I mean they screwed up so I was hoping for a little more than what they said.

Compared to the first book I liked this one a lot more. I think partly because the truth was out so I felt like relationships could actually be built.

I would be lying though if I said I did not want more groveling. Because it felt a bit like there was none? I know there was a lot happening plot wise and with the addition of Kelly but I still think more should have been done to address what the guys did in the first book. Like we get what maybe two apologies from Cam and barely one from Link?

I can own though that I always want the most groveling possible.

The plot I thought was more exciting in this book as well. We really started to address the whole dad business.

I could write an entire love song for Arben though. He is not a perfect character but I felt like he was always coming from a good place and was the only one actually putting Elvi first. Some of the things he said had me swooning on the floor. And when they started calling each other my love, I was a goner. The evil for everyone but you characters are always my favorite.

This was a really good.

Strong 1st Book, Weak Finish

Spoiler Alert. The whole storyline with Link didn’t make a lot of sense. He doesn’t show up until half way through the second book even though he’s the one most unresolved from the first. The way he’s treated for being so loyal to Kelly doesn’t make a lot of sense either or for Rory to immediately want to devote himself to Kelly when he didn’t before. I just found it all to be inconsistent and frustrating, especially given how strong the first book was.

Elvi has finally discovered the truth and is quite angry with Rory, Cam, and Link. With her memories restored, she becomes aware of many truths, including her true identity. Arben supports her no matter what she chooses to do. He saves her from Link's deceit and assists in rescuing Kelly. After finding out what his friends have done to Elvi, Kelly is also unhappy with the Blood Brothers. Can their relationships be repaired, or is it too late? In addition to their personal challenges, there is an impending war that they can only win by uniting as a pack.

Trigger Warnings~ (given by the author) Mild violence and discussions of extreme violence, Consensual sexual acts, including omega heat with multiple partners and detailed MM activity, Historical rape (discussed, not depicted), Lies and treachery, including false representation, including between sexual partners, Bad language of all stripes, including lots of dirty talk!

First of all, the cover of both the books are gorgeous. The story continued from right where it left off in the previous book. We get to see Link's perspective of the events. The story stalled a bit after that as it followed with a lot of intimate scenes between Elvi and Arben.

The book was very steamy - it had a lot of sensual scenes. I enjoyed every last bit of the passionate moments! The overall tone of the book was somewhat frenetic - as if everything was happening all at once. However, the writing is well-done and made the story flow seamlessly. It primarily shifted between Elvi, Arben, and Kelly's perspectives and included a few chapters with Cam, Rory, and Link - offering a comprehensive insight into the characters' emotions.

I loved the story so far, so I might give the next book a chance. If you have read this one and feel that the happy ending is enough for you, then I can say the story is worth reading so far

Deadly Ties: Blood Brother Book 2 by Roxy Collins is a dark shifter omegaverse story. Deadly Ties is the second book in the series; read Dangerous Lies first. Do not read this review if you haven't read it yet, as it does contain spoilers for the first book of the series. Elvana finds herself in a terrible situation after Linc reveals all lies and manipulations that he, Cam, and Rory fed her. However, when things are dark, Ferrier, the Boston alpha, shows up to save her, revealing Bisha isn't her father. Marku steps up and admits his feelings, and claims her as his mate. Despite everything her fake step-brothers did, she is determined to see Kelly knowing no omega deserves his fate. However, after saving him, the two omegas develop a unique bond. After discovering what his pact has done, it pushes the two omegas even closer. Will Elvanna be able to forgive the guys and unite their pacts, or will it prove to be too much?

Roxy Collins has kept the momentum and thrills going with Deadly Ties. She has created a fantastic story that has it all; thrills, secrets, action, love, and lust! Marku continues to help Elvana discover herself, and she finds confidence and strength she didn't know she possessed! Marku is my favorite character having unmatched strength and wisdom proving to be a pillar to his mate and pack. Collins's characters are phenomenal, drawing in readers and evoking a myriad of emotions.

I rated Deadly Ties 5 out of 5 stars. This book is for adults only due to graphic scenes and adult content. There are multiple triggers in this book. This books super spicy🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 so be ready to overheat and have your toes curl! If you have triggers, please check content warnings before reading. This is an exciting reverse harem shifter omegaverse that is both dark and uplifting, with powerful alphas that worship their omegas; if you enjoy dark stories with strong main characters that work for their HEA, this series is a must-read!

ARC from author - NO spoilers, Adult read, Omegaverse, Reverse Harem, Mafia, Age gap, Enemies to Lovers, Shifter. High spice multi POV Bk 2 in a duet - no cliffhanger!
Content warning from Author at the beginning so please read and look after yourself. Triggers include rape, violence, death and sex.

* Please read Twisted Lies first or this book will leave you confused, it is a story continuation *

Story picks up Elvana's tale of angst, betrayal and lies with her Harem; Rory, Cam and Link and her stalwart protector Arben.
It is fast paced and we find Elvana has matured into a more confident Omega, one who knows her own mind and less likely to put up with unnecessary grief from her Men. Are they worth it?
Does lust turn into love and ultimately Commitment? Who makes the cut if any?

Thoroughly enjoyed this and finished in one evening, I did refresh my memory and read Twisted Lies again so could get the most from this conclusion.
Was no hardship as I love Book 1 and my confusion (see review) was explained to my satisfaction, a good hook as I had to know, thus reading this installment was a no brainer!
New characters were full bodied and relatable, adored Kelly and the interaction with Elvana well thought out and presented.

The Spice is steamy with MM action, various dynamics within the Harem with clear definition of roles for their trysts.
Some fade to black scenes but has a natural feel and prevents repetition.

This Duet has been classed as Dark, it is not a fluffy, kittens n roses Romance by any means but I found it more on the Grey side. Will read it quite happily again as I became invested in Elvana's journey, the Mafia and shifter edge adding a tangy flavour when my sweet tooth has been satisfied else where.

Roxy Collins has become a firm favourite of mine and will follow her releases with anticipation.

If I could give more stars for this book I would. Seriously, seriously loved this book and series.

The characters were amazing and I couldn't get enough of them all, especially when Kelly showed up and blew things apart in the most perfect possible way of course.

It was fantastic to read more about Arben as we didn't get to see much of him in book 1 so here in book 2 he was sexy AF the whole time and I loved the way he was with Elvana. Getting more of his backstory filled in a few blank spots so that was great.

The way Arben brought all the parties together and directed things was enjoyable to read and had a really good laugh when Rory (I think) called him the c**k conductor. He did it oh so well though. Seriously the sexy time with all participants was very sizzly hot.

The twist and turns were really good and the angst was awesome and well deserved. The story flowed really well and like I said earlier, I couldn't get enough of them all.

Only thing for me was Cam really didn't apologise and nor did him and Elvana have time to get together and talk over what happened and come back together.

Roxy Collins has created an amazing world which I loved being in. I can see me rereading this series again very soon.

I loved book two in this series so much! I was so glad to get an ARC copy because I couldn't put down book one.

This is a shifter omegaverse why choose and I really enjoyed getting to see all of the members of the pack and how their relationships developed. Arben, my sweet Arben, Roxy did such an incredible job with the character that he's impossible to not love.

This book ties up the story in terms of her family situation but it happens pretty quick and isn't as detailed as some may like. Honestly, I was ok with that because I was more interested in what was happening with all of the developing pack relationships.

I received an ARC copy of the book but I'm leaving this review voluntarily.

Delicious

This deserves more stars.
Omegas rule! What a story. One of the best shifter/omega stories I’ve ever read.
Kind wished there was just another added chapter or two as feel like there could of been more added to some of the plot but either way I loved this.

It’s been a brilliant and sensational duet.
Some sexy and hot beasts, dark and broody men and one omega who brought it all together.

Just be prepared to cry when it’s all over as it’s just that good and now wondering what can read next lol

Half the harem members are awful!

Actually most of the harem members except Arben, and Kelly are just terrible guys that get forgiven waaaay too easily.

**SPOILERS*

So poor Elvi goes with Link (the total a-hole) because he’s lied to her constantly all through book 1 (treating her like trash) and pretty much all through book 2 as well, and gave her a sob story about how Kelly is HIS SISTER who has been locked up and tortured for a year. This of course is a total lie. Link is cold hearted, single minded, obsessed, cruel and stinks at being one of the harem members!! He literally is OBSESSED with getting his mate back, his two best friends (who haven’t bonded Kelly, but want to but are always stopped by Link) also want to find the guy they love, their mate, Kelly. But they have “softer” edges, and aren’t overly unkind to Elvi, although their lies stink too, and Cam does a sucky thing and steals all of Elvi’s memories. But the longer Cam and Rory spend with Elvi the harder they fall.

So yes, Link takes her to a deplorable auction house and TRADES Elvi for Kelly (or so he thinks), it doesn’t turn out that way and he ends up literally leaving her to the “mercy” of the hideous Omega auctions. By now Elvi has figured things out and her heart is broken! She knew link wasn’t a good guy…but this betrayal shattered her heart, along with the betrayal from Cam and Rory (who she had actually trusted).

Arben Marku the head enforcer and assassin for Bisha (Elvi’s supposed dad) has always taken care of Elvi as best as he could without showing her father he liked her, because he’d have probably just killed them both. Now Marku has a feared name snd reputation, and can pretty much do what he wants,

In book 2, Elvi gets tossed around and hurt while the auctioneers and and their cronies help to get her ready to be sold (At Bisha’s request). She stumbles upon a sweet smelling Omegs who is MUZZLED TIED UP and about to be raped by one of the guards, with some of her wolfie powers she shifts her hands into claws and kills the guard and frees KELLY!!! Immediately the two of them are drawn to o e another, and Kelly starts calling her Angel. They meet up with Marku and Rory and take him to Ferrier’s mansion (Ferrier is Elvi’s REAL FATHER) to heal and sleep. He wakes up feeling better and loving having his Angel Elvi with him. He asks after Link then Cam and isn’t settled until Rory spills the beans about everything…and the entirely stupid plan Link had concocted by kidnapping “Bisha’s baby” a.k.a. Elvi, erasing her memories, get her to feel for them and sympathized with their plight and then agree to take the place of their “sister” because she’s totally selfless, just a good omega all around! Needless to say Kelly is really pissed off. He and Elvi feel the “mate pull,” and in order to be safer and be able to mindspeak and feel each other’s emotions, Arben Marku bites Kelly as well.

Anyway…there are several steamy scenes between Elvi, Arben, Kelly and Rory. Then when Cam and Link (the douche) come back into the picture…Elvi turns him away initially (which thrilled me) but three pages later she’s telling him 1. She doesn’t condone what he did but she understands (you’re joking, right? He was a heinous character and he was literally awful until the last 3 pages of book 2 where Elvi goes into heat, FORGIVES the jerkface (telling him not to hurt her again) has sex and then lets him bite and mark her!!! Ugh no no no no! He completely hadn’t redeemed himself!!

Also Marku marking (biting) Kelly was just WEIRD! He didn’t know him, he hadn’t spent much time with him…he’s clearly obsessed and in love with Elvi…but he bites Kelly for her? Uh yeah, no, I don’t think so. It honestly felt as if that plot device made Elvi’s and Marku’s love and bond just a lot less special. That was a bad construct idea, along with pretty much every m/m scene except Link and Kelly when they are reunited. Possibly even Rory, and Cam…but truthfully they were made out to be guys who loved Kelly their “friend” helped him out during heats and that was that, they were the ones totally Gaga over Elvi, so the REALLY quick rush to the m/m scenes toward the end seemed completely unnecessary, and very unneeded to further the plot development.

I think one of THE WORST things about this book is that ALL THE HAREM MEMBERS, except for Marku and Kelly (though I’d wished he had stood up for himself and frozen Link out for longer) we’re just loathsome!! They were kidnappers, liars, memory stealers, heck stealing her away and her memories of her dead mother! And that we ONLY get Rory apologizing (in book time) to make it believable that she’d take him back!! Link is still holding onto his asinine notions, and calls Elvi every nasty name in the book…and won’t stop and shut up about Kelly! We understand already…you only love Kelly in that all-consuming way. But then like three pages until the end of the book Link turns all sweet and tender toward Elvi, gets to JOIN HER HEAT. And continues to sprout out waxing poetic about how beautiful she is, how she brought light into his life snd opened his eyes. It just sounds like BS at this point because he’s made clear for almost two entire books that he’s using her totally, cares only about getting Kelly, his lover and mate out…and doesn’t care what happens to Elvi. In fact he didn’t even utter remorse when he told Rory and Cam that he’d LEFT HER AT THAT VIAL PLACE TO BE BEATEN TORTURED, RAPED AND SOLD!

Yes. This was a very very disappointing follow up book to Elvi’s story as everything went.

Once again, Roxy Collins has rendered me entirely flabbergasted and speechless. The second installment of Blood Brothers I've been desperately waiting for and I am, as usual, in love with her writing style and her characters. These men are not to be trifled with, but they will protect you to death.

Read this amazing series if you're a fan of the omegaverse, spice, shifters & reverse harem.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the intrigue and suspense kept me up into the early hours of the morning. I could not put this book down. Elvana, Link, Rory, Arbane, Kelly and Cam come together to complete this awesome book. In this book, you will see truths come out. Character growth, with eye-opening experiences. Second book. You will need to read the first in the series to understand the second. Roxy Collins did a phenomenal job in spinning a tale about a RH shifter omega verse.

Omg omg!!

This was an amazing book filled with too tier smut, groveling alphas, sexy omegas, and the world they claim as theirs.

The second book to Twisted lies absolutely leaves nothing unsaid. It pulls you back into their world and throws you straight into their nest of chaos. Roxy held no punches in this one and I don’t think I’d have it any other way.

I don’t know who I’d rather be out of all of them as long as I get to be there in general, it’s a win for me.

5/5 and would definitely recommend to those who want to explore a different take on omega verse books.

Love!!

I love this book. It has heart and grit. The pack learning who they are, and how to be together. We get to learn more about each of the members; the good, the bad, the ugly, and the desperate laid bare for all to see. The chemistry between all the members is off the charts and I wish there was more to dive into.

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but this is better than the first book. Great characters, great story. I LOVE Kelly. Can’t wait to read more from the author.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Omg this duet! 🤩 I can’t stress enough how much I loved every second of this book! All the highs and lows got me in a chokehold. This is going to live in my head rent free for the rest of my life & I know what I’m going to be rereading when I need a good hard dose of omegaverse 😜

This was a decent enough read, but learn from my mistakes. You're going to want to take notes on names, relationships, etc, as soon as you start book one because they're going to change 72 times over the course of the story and I kept having to backtrack to figure out what I'd missed.

Our FMC definitely got more bada** this book! Thoroughly appreciated the pace of the book and the character growth as the group finds their dynamic.
