Being hired by Barrett London should have been a dream. Nice job in the city, amazing boss...but then I met Luke. Cocky. Self-assured. Sexy. And the most frustrating man I've ever laid eyes on. When we're forced to work together, sparks fly. But is the attraction enough to risk losing everything? Or should this truce be in name only?
Luke
The moment Olivia walked through the door, I wanted her. That is, until she opened her mouth and ruined it with her 'I can do it better' attitude. When we’re coerced into working together, I start to see Olivia in a different light. She's smart, vibrant, and gorgeous. Is that enough to let go of the past or will my demons turn our truce into a lie?

A hot and steamy office Romance that will leave you swooning.
An enemies to lovers story following Luke and Olivia who have to work closely together, but Luke doesn’t like Olivia. Their banter is on point and had me laughing out loud a lot. How long can they be in close proximity without sparks flying and giving into the sexual tension?
This was a quick read, but full of emotion and off the charts chemistry. Witty banter and brilliant side characters.
BJ Steele has you fanning yourself and swooning your heart out with the Truce. A debut author to watch out for.
What a debut by Becca Steele! This could be considered a short read but trust me when I tell you there is no short of emotion, excitement and hot men!
In the Truce we follow the journey of Luke and Olivia, coworkers who can't stand the sight of each other and everyone in the office feels it. I would love to be a fly on the wall and just watch them bicker back and forth. Actually no, I'd be sitting at a desk with my hands under my chin watching them go at it but really staring at the boss Ethan...but we'll get to him later ;)
There is only so much sexual tension two people can take before it just explodes like a bomb and this does not disappoint. Once our main characters realize they have feelings that are opposite of hate, we get to see a completely different side of them as we realize maybe they never actually hated each other at all? Didn't your mama ever tell you that when boys are mean to you they like you? Yeah mine didn't actually either.
Will Luke let the demons from his past ruin his chance at a happy ever after with Liv?
From the start to the end we watch the characters evolve which Steele has done beautifully. She really has a way with words. It's the little things you pick up on that make you go OOooooOOOO! You really get to know all of the smaller characters and hopefully there will get a book of their own one day because I NEED MORE! *cough cough here's lookin' at you Becca Steele*
Luke and Olivia are one of my top five literary couples for this year, without a doubt. I love a good friends-to-lovers story, and this one doesn’t disappoint. Luke and Olivia work together, but they hate each other from just about the very beginning. Only when they’re forced to make a truce does the true nature of their feelings - along with their fears - come to light.
Luke is charming and hot, but he also has a lot more baggage than I was anticipating. I found myself sad for him and cheering him on as he battled his demons to be the man he wanted to be. Then there’s stubborn, beautiful, driven Olivia, who has her own baggage to drop as she figures out what she wants next. I loved both of their characters - both together and apart - and was sucked into this book from the first page. Their chemistry is seriously off the charts hot, and I loved it.
You will NOT be disappointed with this story. I can’t wait to read more from Becca!
I enjoyed everything about this book! The writing, the story, the characters! Enemies to Lovers is one of my favourites and this book is done really well.
Olivia and Luke have absolutely of the charts chemistry and lots of quick entertaining banter. The sex scenes in this book phew smoking hot!
This book was really well written and flowed so well!
I wanted to crawl into this book and drink at a pub in London and meet the Characters of The Truce Becca made you imagine the scenes clearly in your mind, along with the commeraderie of this group of friends. The emotion or lack of it that Luke and Olivia displayed to each other at the beginning had me wondering “ when and how is this going to change”. Well change it did. The growing friendship forced upon them from their boss and Luke’s great friend Ethan as “ a Truce “ This set up what was to come. I love a 2 person version of events in a novel, I love how Becca showed us thoughts and feelings of both main characters. Luke frustrated me from the 1st chapter, I couldn’t understand his resentment , but as the book went On, we were taken inside his thoughts coming to understand why, but I was still thinking him being a douche. His love for Martha showing us under that cool British demeanour was a man wanting to be loved but to scared to try. Thank god for the intervention from his two good friends. Grown men playing PlayStation 🥰 I fell in like with the other characters in the story and how everyone interconnected and bought their own story into this one. I say like as the in love will come with their own stories. I certainly look forward to reading about them and what’s to come , especially the brooding Jake Savage. I thought to myself, Here’s a man who makes me want to hear his story now. Thank you Becca for Olivia and Luke’s story, I felt like I was there at times, being the voyeur watching it unfold , drinks in the pub, coffee in the office, laying on the grass watching hot men with no shirts throw a ball around. All they needed was a puppy and they were ultimate chick magnets. I hurt when Luke hurt and I quietly seethed towards him when Emma was upset. I especially loved the gift at the end of the book that Luke gives Olivia , it to me was Luke’s way of saying Yep I’m ready Leap of faith taken, what had made him run , had run him straight back to where he had run from. No Payne no gain Congratulations on your first book of I’m sure, many more to follow. Bring on Alex Ethan Avery and the Savage boys. I just wanted to keep on reading.Thank you Becca I loved it, hot sex, hate to love good friends great settings and Luke and his Doucheness at the beginning I secretly loved 🤣📚🥰.

Firstly I have to thank Becca Steele for the ARC of this wonderful enemies to lovers story. She penned a great debut novel! It is a truth universally acknowledged that Luke hates Olivia and Olivia hates Luke since the day they were first introduced at work...or do they? Ofcourse they don't! Atleast its obvious to everyone around them except for these two "hate-struck" creatures! They simply tolerate each others presence at work and in their private lives as they have mutual friends(as in Luke's bestie,Ethan, is Olivia's bestie's Avery's boyfriend). They can't seem to throw any civil words at each other except insults. But what happen when Ethan(their boss) forces them to work togather? Chemistry. That happens. And when Olivia consols Luke after a very(only) important person in his life passes away, all bets are off. They suddenly can't get enough of each other. Both agrees that its just friends with benefits agreement but we all know how that ends...ahemm. In this case, the hero panics when it becomes evident that he cares for Olivia than he intended to and ditches (a crying and screaming) Olivia at a river bank! A. River. Bank. Talk about a jerk protagonist. Anyway, does their chemistry goes off? Do they stop caring? No and No. What happens you say? Sorry can't tell that you have to wait for the release🤭(they do get togather after a huge fall out the help of their wonderful friends). I really felt sorry for luke. He had a shitty childhood and didn't even realise that he loved Olivia after it was too late(or not) .Anyway my favourite part of this book aside from their chemistry and banter and sexy times is the support of their friends who act like a mini family for both Luke and Olivia. Alex,so far is my favourite character. I can't wait to read his book! And Ethan and Avery are the "IT" duo and they are getting their own novella. Well its a known fact that I stalked this book and really love it more now after reading it! Hope you all enjoy it to! It releases on 29th August. Happy reading..xoxo❣

This is a fun Office Romance, enemies to lovers. Luke and Olivia story is a true enemies to lovers, the banter of hate that turns to lust and more. Olivia is strong and feisty. Luke is brooding and trying to run from his feelings. The interactive between all the characters has you wanting to pull up a chair and join in. It’s a well written, well developed story that you just want to be part of. I can’t wait to see what Becca Steele has in store for us next.
What a debut this was Becca! This was a great enemies to lovers story, which is may absolute favorite! This is the story of Luke and Olivia, hate colleagues who turned into lovers. These characters went through a lot of emotional turmoil, but I think they were better for it. I can't express how much I loved this book and can't wait for the next one!
I think this is my top read of 2019 so far. Everyone should add this to their TBR <3
⚜Rate: ★★★★★
English: "The Truce" by Becca Steele is the first book in the "London Suits" series. It is a contemporary romance with characters with a truce because they are enemies but later will change. It's the first book I've read about this author since it's her debut novel, but nothing is going to stop me from reading what's coming up soon, because it's going to be incredible.
Olivia Payne started working at Barret London as a digital marketer thanks to her best friend's boyfriend, Ethan. Luke Davenport, is a sexy bachelor is focused on his work until Olivia appears and changes everything that was to his satisfaction. From that moment, the relationship between Luke Davenport and Olivia Payne went from bad to worse. But Ethan's a truce proposal will make both take things calmly and begin to know and understand each other.
That was great. Honestly, there's nothing I like more than enemies-to-lovers because chemistry is terrific and this one is very present. Luke has been a character that I liked very much because he had sweet moments and others that with Olivia were very hot. I loved the moment when they met and many others who had fun. There was also a character that showed me tenderness and sadness at the end. I wanted to be with Luke when he had his crisis moment because he needed help, but I'm glad he had Ethan by his side. I'm very curious about Ethan and Avery and their relationship as it was because I liked the way things went in this book, and I'm dying to know more. ⚜Rate: ★★★★★
Wowsers!!! What a debut Becca Steele!!! I loved this book, and definitely the strong male characters in it. You can practically feel the chemistry sizzling off the pages between Luke and Olivia. If you’re into a man with a dirty mouth on him then Luke gives you all that and more. Oh and green eyes 🥰 I don’t really have a trope per se, but there’s something about an enemy to lovers isn’t there. This gets you sitting there reading it with a smile on your face, your eyes will definitely fill up, but there are parts in this book where your heart will quite literally stop and stutter before it turns over and kicks in again. As for your next book boyfriend Luke, after wanting to hit his head out from up his backside, certainly is a contender, but so are Ethan, Alex and Jake the dark contender. I’m torn, but one thing for sure, after reading The Truce, you will definitely be wanting to read the next book, and the one after that to keep up to date with the one that intrigues you. Roll on book two!!
Luke & Liv ♥ Becca Steele gives you a fun sexy read with The Truce. As soon as I saw it was enemies to lovers I was sold. Our Hero and Heroine hate each other but we all know underneath all that hate they want to tear each other's clothes off. wink. wink The story will make you laugh, want to rip Luke's hair out and cry. My favorite thing about enemies to lovers is that moment when the characters just go aha and they realize they do have a strong feeling for each other but its not hateful. It's also filled with a lot of hot scenes and Luke's filthy mouth. ( God that filthy mouth) An amazing debut. ♥ I can't wait for more!
This is a fantastic debut by an author to watch! Luke has disliked Olivia from the day she started at the company owned by his best friend, Ethan, and they have done nothing but antagonise each other ever since. After Ethan finally convinces them to agree to a truce, he pushes them to work together on a big account... and they find out the other is not nearly as bad as they seemed.
Sparks of a different kind begin to fly, but Luke is afraid. Love and stability has never been part of his life and everyone he loves eventually leaves him, but he's so attracted to Olivia that he agrees to a friends with benefits arrangement. Soon, they both want more - but can Luke overcome his past to take a chance on what could be the relationship of a lifetime, or will be push Olivia away for good?
I really enjoyed this debut novel from Becca Steele and I look forward to more from her.
The MMC of this book hasn't been one of my favorites, however I liked this book much more than the previous one; There is better character development and the story is more interesting than the previous one.
Oh wow. I didn't know exactly what to expect going into this. She is a new author and this is her debut. I don't often read new authors right away, but I am glad I took the chance to with this one.
Firstly, her writing style was amazing! Everything flowed so easily, and I had no issue falling deep into this plot. This book isn't a full length, but in no way was it lacking anything. It held emotion, in-depth detail and a plot that you couldn't help but invest in. I fell in love with Luke and Liv so hard!
They were enemies to lovers romance, two co-workers that couldn't stand each other and they don't hide that fact. Everyone in the office knew it too. But it's not hated, it's sexual tension that has built up over time and once it snaps and they realize that there is chemistry between them, the plot just thickens and we get to see two completely different characters that we first started with. But when these feelings bubble to the surface, you'd think it would be a happily ever after? Well, not everything is that simple. Past experiences from Luke's past are holding these back from what they really want and what they truly really want is each other. But will Luke be able to let go of his past? Will he and Liv find their happy ending?
I loved this, It was a such a fun read, and though it was fun, it still held depth and drama and heat, it really did have it all.
I had a chance to read and early ARC of The Truce from debut author Becca Steele, and let me just tell you I’ve got a book hangover!
One of my favorite tropes is enemies to lovers and Miss. Steele does NOT disappoint. The story follows Luke and Olivia’s journey from hated colleagues to lovers, it’s a perfect mix of salty and sweet. I really wanted to hate Luke for being such a jerk, but maybe there’s a reason for why he is the way that is, and Olivia is determined to show him the right way to love, and be loved.
When this story comes out on 8.29.19, you want to make sure it’s on your TBR! Brava Becca for writing an exceptional debut! 🖤
This book was soooo good!! I enjoy a good Enemies to lovers read and this one hits the spot just right!!! The bickering felt so real and it was like being one of their co-workers waiting to watch the fireworks explode. And explode they did... but in a sexy way!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 the sexual tension these to had was off the charts!! Great book, loved how it all played out. ♥️ can’t wait for more from Becca Steele
Received an arc from Booksprout for an honest review!
Unfortunately it's a DNF for me!
When I read the synopsis for this book, I legit jumped on an arc asap. My hope was that this would be the British Hating Game, and I would fall hard and deep for these characters and this enemies-to-lovers romance, but the characters felt...a...bit...stale?
The protagonist's voice was too plain and lifeless for my tastes, and the interactions between the characters felt a bit too forced for my taste.
This is the debut novel for author Becca Steele and let me tell you that what a great way to start!!! This book is well written, the characters are amazing and the interactions between the friends(Avery, Ethan, Alex, Olivia and Luke) are so entertaining that you will love them instantly. An enemy to lovers story were the main characters are Olivia and Luke, 2 people that "hated"each other guts. The bickering between them was hilarious and I had to read some scenes twice because they were that good and made me laugh so hard. They created this tension in the office that they were force to make a truce to try to work together for the benefit their company. Thats when they started to really know each other besides their work environment and then sparks started to fly between them. Like a quote in the book says:'there is a thin line between Love and Hate". Luke doesn't want a relationship but Olivia does, so they form their on truce where they became friends with benefits, and let me tell you those sexy steamy scenes are🔥🔥🔥. So now here is the question , Would love conquer all?? You have to read this book and find the answer to that.
Oh how this book made my heart hurt! The angst is palpable and had me twisted up like grandma’s yard. I was all over the place with every emotion. I cheered for Olivia, I cried, I got angry at Luke, I got angry at both of them. This book was filled with emotion.
In the beginning, I hated Luke. He was unnecessarily mean to Olivia and wouldn’t even call her by her first name. Once I learned of Luke’s traumatic past and upbringing, it all began to make sense. You can never hurt someone if you never let them get close enough. The problem was Olivia had already fallen in love with him and he couldn’t bear the thought of breaking her heart further down the road so he ended things between them. It devastated Olivia and gutted Luke.
Olivia is truly giving of herself and Luke finds comfort in her during a very difficult time. As a result of this, they become closer. Close enough to begin to develop real feelings, feelings that scare Luke - which makes Luke push Olivia away and in the process break her heart. Even though he can’t bear the thought of breaking her heart later down the road in their relationship.
They have very supportive friends who help them see what’s going on and what they should do to make things right. However, Luke is stubborn and determined to lock down his feelings for Olivia. Could this brooding man leave the past behind to grasp at what could be an amazing future?
Special thanks to the author for this advanced readers copy.

I am amazed that this is a debut from this author! Olivia and Luke are complex characters, who are co-workers, and have explosive chemistry between them. This is a well written story which is intense, emotional, passionate and steamy. I look forward to reading more from this author, and recommend this for all enemies / lovers scenarios’.
This is the second book in the London Suits series and features Olivia and Luke. Olivia has been hired by Barrett London and loves everything about her job...except Luke. Luke works at Barrett London and his best friend Ethan owns it (remember Ethan from book 1?). Olivia and Luke immediately get off on the wrong foot and their venom towards each other begins to become a problem. When Luke and Olivia are forced to work together, they realize that maybe their hate isn't actually hate and they delve into a friends-with-benefits deal. But Luke's past and Olivia's need for more than a f*ck buddy situation throws a major kink in their blossoming relationship. Can the two of them work out their differences and realize they are meant to be together? Or will it all fall apart leaving both with a broken heart and alone.
I liked this but I felt like some of the angst was unnecessary and some of their behavior toward each other was childish. I've enjoyed other books this author has written more than this one but I still think it was well written and an all around decent story. Overall, a thoughtfully written and steamy enemies-to-lovers story with a high dose of angst.
Oh how I love me some enemies-to-lovers. I loved Luke and Olivia together. The spark between them hits you right from the start.
Their snark and their playfulness as they battle their attraction for each other keeps you flipping the page. This is one great debut for Becca. Now I need more.
This book was life! I LOVE a good enemies to lovers book and this one did not disappoint. The sexual tension between Olivia and Luke is OFF THE CHARTS! I got seriously hot and bothered while reading this book and needed to take a cold shower. So yes this is book is SEXY! But don't get me wrong the emotions are still there. Becca did an amazing job at making you really feel everything that is going on between all the characters, and made me cry a time or two.
SO GOOD!!! This felt like a novel by a seasoned author, not a debut. The characters were complex and likeable, the tension palpable, the chemistry scorching, the banter on point. It’s an enemies to lovers office romance that keeps the pages turning and it’s easy to get lost in the story.
The Truce follows Luke and Olivia, coworkers who got off to the wrong start and now seem to spar every time they interact. Things come to a head when they run into each other outside of work and their personal lives enter the mix. When their feuding starts to interfere with their jobs, they come to a truce and it becomes easy to see the sparks of tension were actually hiding a real romantic connection. Unfortunately, Luke doesn’t have the best history so he’s hesitant to take things further.
I was rooting for this couple from the very beginning, and the story hooked me right away. While the feuding is great, the aftermath is also fantastic. We get a real sense of their relationship, growth to the characters, and it’s not all smooth sailing once the games end, but the connection is definitely worth the struggle. My only real complaint about the book is that I wanted more of the good times. A little more of the flirty period after the tension is over, and definitely fewer dark times after the inevitable argument. These two run through every emotion imaginable, and it makes the story feel more authentic, the ratios were just slightly off for me. I enjoyed the book from start to finish and will certainly pick up the author’s next one. We’re introduced to some intriguing guys in the story that I think would make great heroes in their own books.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Becca Steele knows how to keep you hot, bothered, and on the edge of your seat!
If you love enemies to lovers, you'll love this book! The tension between Olivia and Luke was enough to make me bite my lip and want to scream for them to just do it! I laughed, I got angsty, I got emotional, and I swooned. Becca delivered all of the perfect elements in a romance novel, and neatly tied them up in the end with a HEA. Also, I loved the London setting! Imaging these characters with a British accent made it all the more enticing.
I loved this book! Becca Steele is a new author to watch and I can't wait to read what she writes next!
This book was so much fun! A great debut from Steele and I am excited to read more of her work. Luke and Liv stole my heart. I felt for them. They each had demons that they had to deal with, but they worked through them (more or less) together and were able to be stronger because of it! I loved how patient Liv was and how strong she was. Luke had to learn how to love, and it was fun to watch that progress in the book. If you love enemies to lovers, you will love this book!
My favorite trope is enemies-to-lovers and boy did this deliver! I so enjoyed the banter and friction between Luke and Olivia. I thought the story flowed well and the steamy scenes were hot. Luke is haunted by his own insecurities and pushes Liv away at every turn and I enjoyed the push and pull. Of course, you aren't left hanging. Like and Liv get their HEA and I was so rooting for them the whole way through.
I can't wait to read Ethan and Avery's story...and also Alex, that guy intrigues me. 5 Stars :)
This is one of those instances when I actually truly hope the two main characters wouldn't end up together.
I really REALLY get having commitment issues, but that doesn't excuse the way Luke treated Olivia. He was upfront with her about not wanting anything more than casual, sure, but then when he broke up with her, he just had to go and make it worse by acting like a possessive jerk, playing with her feelings basically.
Too much of an angst-fest, this one, and without a proper resolution too.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this author. This is her first book. Loving the indie world, I took a chance.
I am so glad I took that chance. The storyline is good; I even cried a little. I am looking forward to reading her future stories to see how she develops and refines her own voice, style of character development, and really nailing the angst she is already so good at.
