A single dad. A flirty manny. A crafty kid. Do they stand a snowball’s chance in hell of a merry and bright future together?
Gareth
It was literally the biggest d*ck I’d ever seen in person, and I started to question if my ass could handle it. But I didn’t quit drinking Diet Coke like I said I was going to last year and I wasn’t about to quit now either. After all, ten inches was a rare commodity these days.
It was supposed to be a one and done experience, so I was shocked when our paths crossed again - out of the bedroom.
I can’t remember the last time I felt a pull this strong, but I’d never dated a client before. Maybe this one’s too good to pass up?
Eli
Being a single dad pretty much means I have to schedule NSFW time and rely on a babysitter. It’s all part of my exciting life in finance with the now-added bonus of after-school hockey practices.
After my company rewards me with a trip to Hawaii, I'm on the hunt for a new kid-watcher. Based on my neighbor's recommendation, I'm introduced to Gareth - the last person I expected to see.
But the human mind is a funny thing because I don't see that as a problem. And neither does my c*ck.
Snowballing is a gay, rom-com, age gap, holiday novella with enough spice to season a whole gingerbread village. It features a dash of forced proximity, a blitzen of kink, a comet of forbidden romance, and of course, Finn’s fetish for jockstraps. There is snow in the book, but most of the white stuff contained herein isn’t cold and it isn’t falling from the sky in flake form. Snowballing is the first book in the Snow Dates series - an annual, kink-positive, holiday series about men falling in love with other men.
Finn Dixon made a childhood dream come true and has worked in the zoological field since 2006. He’s taken care of everything from alligators to zebras, but his favorites will always be rhinos. Thus far, his MM romances have focused on contemporary stories that include jocks (and jockstraps), but fantasy, paranormal, and historical have been observed in the crystal ball of Finn’s future.
In his spare time, he likes watching gay films and shows with happy endings (giggity), playing Disney Dreamlight Valley, re-watching Jurassic Park and Clue, and traveling when he can afford it.
And yes, he likes jocks, but he promises all his books won’t be about them.
Or will they?

This was such a fun, winter novella. IT IS BALLS TO THE WALL BOY HUMOR. 😉 The kid, who has a large part in this book didn’t even annoy me. He was funny and charming in his own way.
The set-up: Eli, single dad and “Jayden”, escort meet when Eli hires Jayden for the night. Doesn’t really go the way they were hoping for, and that was humorous for the reader, but some holiday magic, in the form of mix-ups and coincidences, had its way of forcing them together.
-age gap (15 years)
Uh, there was a new to me kink I’ve never seen before (not the one in the title) and I thought I had pretty much seen it all.
Looking forward to Finn’s 2024 winter release, Jack Frosting.
This had some good things going for it: foreskin, jockstraps, rimming, drinking cum pit of a condom, butt plugs.
But then it also had a 12 year old discussing his dad’s sex life and telling him he can see his dick.
But the last straw was telling me: He spent the next ten minutes tonguing, fingering and re-plugging my hole.. So, I’m robbed of actually getting to read that, fine… but then don’t make me read pages of a 12 year old talking about Pokémon Go.
This is my first book by this author and I quite enjoyed it. There were a few spots that made me laugh out loud and it was a fairly low-angst read which was perfect for a low-key day.
Gareth was such a fun character and I liked how easygoing he was. He was fantastic with Eli’s son Trey and he fit so well into the family. Eli was a bit harder to like at first but once I got to know him better he was a great character.
It took me a little to get into it and I feel the ending was too abrupt but overall it was a great read and I recommend if you’re looking for an easy, short read!
"Apparently, motorcycles made guys hotter. How did I not know this?"
This book is set in the Boston suburbs so I was already excited as soon as I started. It was so fun seeing places I visit in my everyday life in a book! I didn't realize how wild it would be to see the actual setting of a book scene in my head while reading based on my memory and not imagination. It really increased my enjoyment of an already great read.
I loved the story of Gareth and Eli. Their relationship certainly did not start off in the typical way. I can't even imagine what a nightmare it would be to have an embarrassing almost-hookup show up as the possible new manny for their tween child. Which means of course Eli's son Trey took to Gareth like a duck to water soon after meeting him. That's just how it works. It was great seeing Gareth and Trey get to know one another as buds while Eli and Gareth began to get to know one another in a completely different way *wink wink.* One thing to know about this book - it's absolutely filthy. In hindsight, the title probably should have clued me in, but it was a happy discovery for this reader.
It was sweet how Gareth fit into the family with Eli and his son like he'd always been a part of it. Trey was such a fun addition too. He was present in much of the book and I enjoyed the scenes we got of him when he would give his dad shit. He was a total pre-teen boy complete with a Pokémon Go obsession which made me love him even more. In fact, the game was one of the things that Gareth and Trey bonded over which warmed my heart. I'm looking forward to Mr. Dixon's next addition to the series Jack Frosting which I believe releases in December, just in time for the holidays!
Snowballing is sweet, spicy, s3xy, hot and steamy!! Age-gap, single dad, manny, with so much flirty banter, sass and snark! Such a seriously fun read!! Eli, thirty-nine is at the top of his game in work and life. He’s raising his son Trey and has a great family and group of friends. Gareth is twenty-four and a successful entrepreneur in his own rights by running an OnlyFans account and being a manny. They meet as Jordy and Jayden for a one-off but are interrupted by Eli’s son. Oops! Eli feels bad how it ended, so he takes Gareth on a date. Their next meet up is when Eli’s neighbor is injured and he needs someone to keep an eye on Trey, so he hires Gareth, and they meet with their real names. Now it gets sweet and spicy. If you like a high spice level, then this is the book for you! I think my kindle caught on fire! I seriously adored, loved everything about this book! I could not stop flipping those pages! Overall, a fantastic holiday romance! Well written with addicting pacing! Highly recommend!
Now this is what I call an exciting holiday read! It was filled with sass, spunk, flirtatious banter, snarky remarks and a preteen who’s not afraid to speak his mind! The single dad/manny vibe was hilariously entertaining and the smut scenes were spicy and filthy. I absolutely loved every second!!
Eli and Gareth were so enticing, their intimate scenes filled with so much steam and attentiveness. Finn does an incredible job with his descriptions of their acts, specifically that snowballing scene!! So hot I could feel my heartbeat in my southern regions, leaving a moistness that required immediate attention, which is exactly why I prefer MM written by men, their descriptions are so accurate and filled with lust!
“ᴡᴇʟʟ, ᴅᴀᴅ’ꜱ ꜱᴛɪꜰꜰʏ ᴛᴏ ꜱᴛᴀʀᴛ.”
I just want to take the time to show appreciation for the snide remarks from the beloved tween of the book, Trey. They’re just as bad as toddlers, never know what’s going to come out of their mouths 🤣. But, I did enjoy the instant connection between Gareth and Trey, making their new family dynamic a lot easier.
Where to begin? This novella was adorable. Even with it’s short word count, the characters were fleshed out with their own personalities and I could imagine them as if they were real. Trey cracked me up. Him giving his dad shit was almost as good as the relationship between Eli and Gareth. Almost. But those two were *chefs kiss* I liked how straight forward their relationship was. No games, no teasing, just lust, like, then love. Even with the book being short, the trust I felt between Eli and Trey made me smile. When I need a quick comfort read, Snowballing will be one of my few go-tos. Absolutely loved it.
Kinda wish I could see a pic of Tomas though. Lol.
Often times with novella’s, I feel like I don’t really get to know the MC’s that well, I’m left wanting more. That wasn’t the case with Finn Dixon’s “Snowballing”. I did want more, but only because I loved these characters so much, and their chemistry was smoking! Eli and Gareth meet as Jordy and Jayden on a hookup app. The sexy times are smoking hot, and then laugh out loud funny, as they are interrupted by Eli’s tween son, Trey. Feeling bad about the way he shoved Gareth out of his house, and out into the snow, Eli treats Gareth to an apology dinner. And what an apology it was! These two are hot enough to melt the snow! Needing a manny for an upcoming trip, Eli gets a recommendation from his neighbor. You can imagine the shock when Eli realizes his possible new manny is the hookup he can’t stop thinking about. They both try to keep things professional, but when you throw in an ice storm, busted pipes, one bed, and a not so oblivious kid, that flies right out the window.
I couldn’t put this read down, and got upset that I had to stop reading to go to work. This was a fun, hot, funny read. The characters, both leads and secondary, are fully fleshed out and I loved them all. Especially Trey, Eli’s son. He’s smart, sarcastic (in the way all tweens are), and he loves his dad. Eli is a fantastic single father (is there anything sexier), and he has a filthy, kinky side that I was totally there for. Gareth may be a lot younger than Eli, but he’s got himself together. He’s a hustler, and I loved that his occupations were portrayed in a positive light (as they should be).
I loved everything about this story and can’t wait to read more from this author.
I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest review.
Intense smut with all of the feels. I’m in heaven right now. After a string of awful books, I picked this one off my TBR and dove in, and I have zero regrets. I do, however, have no shame and am literally BEGGING to be this author’s friend in real life. I’ve got questions (mostly the feasibility of some of the mechanics of some of the spicy scenes,) and there were some issues with continuity a couple of times, but I’ve never laughed so much reading and I enjoyed every page of this novella. It helps that the issues I found didn’t detract from the story, just made my brain go, “BUT HE ALREADY KNEW HIS REAL NAME OR DID HE FORGET HE GOOGLED HIM AND STALKED HIS PROPERTY TAXES?!” In any case, I’m off to binge everything he’s ever written, byeeee✌🏽😌
I gave up at 53% These situational, ROM com, over the top, over sexed, over try to be funny awkward a** in the air farce comedies don't always work. Thanks, but no.
Puh, this was one hot read. I'm surprised I didn't have steam coming out of my Kindle 😂 In all seriousness, I loved reading this. It was well written and it had me hooked from the start. I loved all the sass, humour and flirting. It was such a feel good story. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer 😁
Ooooowe! Where do I start? I received the ARC copy of this book yesterday and started it last night. I was actually upset that I had to put it down to go to sleep. Haha It drew me in THAT much! From the beginning I was intrigued at the unique storyline. I have not read a lot of books that involve escorts so it was a nice surprise to have it kind of painted in a positive light. I felt that even though the MCs emotional connection “seemed” to move quickly… it did not feel rushed at all. JFC you guys. I have never read such a jam packed f*cking filthy hot ass novella. For real! Get your f*cking tissues out or socks or whatever you use to make yourself feel good and prepare for a wrist cramping because it is inevitable. Haha TMI? 🥵 Finn, you outdid yourself! Loved this journey for me. This is my first official Holiday themed book and I loved it, truly! I can’t wait for everyone else to experience this book. Congratulations on such a great write. Looking forward to others like it! 🤗 Happy to receive any future ARCs!
Okay so I just did a reread of this book and I forgot how much I loved these goofballs! They have great chemistry from the very start. Both Gareth and Eli are equal parts sweet and dirty and I am here for it. They are so hot together. And the amount of times I cackled out loud. Finn writes such great banter and the funniest scenes. If you’re looking for a quick, funny, and spicy read, look no further!
3.75 rounded up. This was one ridiculous moment after the other and for the life of me I couldn't stop reading. It might be the consequence of being in bed with a neck strain that has possibly affected my capacity for discernment. Silly, fluffy, fun and a bit festive. You can read it fast, enjoy the kinky moments, the profusion of jockstraps, and the sass from a 12yo and be done with it.
Snowballing was such a cute little love story. Gareth and Eli had an amazing chemistry from the word go, and both men grew on me in such a big way. Which is saying something, because Gareth's initial introduction was a bit cold - but it made perfect sense for the character we came to know over the course of the book. He's a dedicated worker and father, and that left very little time for anything else. Plus, he's more than a bit cynical.
Eli, on the other hand, was a complete ball of sunshine pretty much the entire book. I would've loved to get to see a bit more about his life outside of Gareth, but that's only because Finn wrote such a compelling character that I needed MORE of him.
The entire plot was great. The first botched hookup followed by the apology hookup with fake names. The reconnection. The forced proximity due to weather. All of it kicked off a brilliant story between two brilliant characters.
Finn did amazing with this one and I can't wait until next winter when we get our next Snow Date.
This was my first ever very spicy romance book that I’ve read that was written by a man. I also thought it would be good to read a m/m romance written by a man. All of them I’ve read in the past were written by women. I’ll be real honest the spicy scenes in this book were well written. I learned several new terms that I hadn’t ever heard before. This book had lots of spice, but I also felt like the romance was well written. I liked their relationship and I feel like it was well developed for a novella. My one complaint about the book that lowered the rating for me was the kid. I don’t think it was really super appropriate for a child old to be commenting on their dad’s sex life or body. It would be one thing if the kid was an older teenager but he is 12. The scene with the pipes bursting and the shower was strange. The whole thing made me uncomfortable at times. All of that being said I didn’t mind the kid being in the story. I actually really liked the family dynamic they had. I liked the scenes where they were all hanging out together. I definitely plan on continuing the series when the next book releases.
This book was great! If you want a book that is fun, lighthearted and full of good spice with a side of kink this one's for you! I adore Finn's humor and his unapologetic way that he introduces me to new kinks but in a way that is natural and not thrown in your face! A suburbia dad is allowed to be dirty and kinky!
This holiday romance is made so much better with the best 12 year old around! I love Trey. He is the epitome of 12....curious, sweet, nosey, chatty, and an all around good kid. He wants his dad happy and he may or may not encourage this romance in so many funny ways!
Eli and Garrett are a perfect match in every way and watching them navigate each other with a kid around was priceless! Let's such say Frosty may get a little extra frosting!
This book was so much fun! I literally smiled from beginning to end. If you want a feel-good story with lots of humor, no major drama, and MCs relationship that just keeps getting better and better, this book is for you. Gareth/Jayden is so bluntly funny & the dialogue is hilarious. I'm sure the author must have had as good a time writing it, as it was to read it. I'm generally not a fan of single dad stories, but this one was great! In fact, I'll probably re-read it. Definitely want to read the next in the series...
I enjoyed this book immensely! One of the best holiday books I have read this year.
And to say this book is steamy would be an understatement. The story flowed well and it all worked beautifully. I didn’t want the book to end. I totally loved it. The MC’s were both very likable and appealing.
Holiday theme, Age Gap, Employer/Manny, Single Parent, steamy and good fun! I Highly recommend! Will definitely be looking out for future books by this author.
Not really a kink I'm into so it didn't appeal. But it was a cute story of a guy whose paid hook-up turns out to be the recommended manny for his pre-teen son. I mean I liked the kid, but maybe he was a bit too 12 going on 35 trying to hook his dad up with the manny. But it was a fine Christmas story.
Fantastic, fun, age gap romance. With lots of flirty snarky back and forth. A one night hook up turn more. A single dad, a hot manny and kink; this story has it all! You definitely need to read this fun holiday story.
This is the very first book I’ve read by Finn Dixon and it will absolutely not be the last. The humor and snark are on point and made me laugh out loud more than once - throw in the heat, the awesome story and the play on words and you have a smash hit. I’ve found a new favorite author and I’m thrilled!
Snowballing started off brilliantly with one of the funniest blurbs I've ever read, and the story didn't disappoint. A really spicy fast read with no shame for anyone (as it should be), lots of humour and really enjoyable characters. I'm sure I smiled the whole time I was reading this
I am always iffy on how kids are written in a story, and 12 years old is a variable age where writing them too young or too old for their age can work.
But Trey felt like he fit both, I wasn't sure if he was 7 or 12 at times. Also, really uncomfortable reading about kids in an erotic short story. He took up a significant amount of the plot, and I felt we didn't need him commenting on his Dad's sex life and erections. Or be present when they were aroused and fantasizing about each other. It started feeling excessive.
Please keep children at a minimum if the story is meant to be smutty. It is really uncomfortable and doesn't fit.
A cute story maybe better enjoyed around holidays.
I rec if you want to read a novella about age gap, sex work, single Dad, significant kid presence and Christmas. I do not reccomend if you aren't in the mood to read about children, or Everyone Is Gay...including the bi MC who has swore off all women due to a women ex.
What can I say about this story? A dad that needs sex, an escort that meets a dad with a son but doesn't know it and a son that stop wise or smart for his age. To top it all off the escort is a Manny who meets up with his last trick!
