Nomar
Do the job. Free the high-value target from a compound in Afghanistan and get out. Simple, right? Until I saw her. She begged me for help. I didn’t think. Grabbed her and her kid and ran. FUBAR didn’t even come close to covering what happened next.

And then…I disappeared. It doesn’t matter that I had no choice. That the President of the United States ordered me to “do the job.” I still abandoned them. When she’s in trouble, I can’t stay away. But how can I convince her my darkness will destroy her?

Lisette
I lived a nightmare for ten years. Cut off from my family, constantly afraid, and unable to escape. My only joy came from my son. His father wanted to turn him into a killer. But then a man stole into our compound in the middle of the night to free another and became our salvation.

He disappeared before we had a chance at something…more. But when a new threat comes for my son, he returns, and suddenly, I realize the truth. I’ve loved him for three years. But will we survive long enough to find our happy ever after? Or will the country that nearly killed me finally finish the job?

DNF at 22%.

The romance doesn't feel natural. I hate the insta lust. I hate hearing about the dudes past lovers. And the plot that is heavily influenced by stereotypes about Muslims and the Middle East makes me vastly uncomfortable. I tried but I'm going to stop now.

What an amazing 5 star read! This story was action packed and I literally couldn’t stop reading from the start to the very end. By far my favourite in the series, every page was just perfect. Don’t start this book too late at night or you will end up not sleeping as you won’t want to stop!

Nomar was just amazing and Lisette and Mateen were made from him. I loved seeing Austin, Griff and Leo in action again. They function exactly like a family. I love how they are all in and will do everything they can to help one of their own and risking their own lives.

This book has the perfect amount of suspense and action and the romance between Nomar and Lisette felt so real and believable. Patricia’s writing is always excellent she has a way of drawing you into her books and leaving you not wanting to stop reading! I’m so looking forward to the next book in the series.

I don’t know how Patrica does it, but her books are so good and get better and better every time, just fantastic.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Intense, thrilling, very brutal here and there, but that’s what a Patricia D. Eddy book is made of. Throw in some, well, a lot of heartache and pain into the mix and you have a perfect story. Austins team played a huge part though I missed Ryker and Dax, but they seemed to be busy elsewhere…
Fantastic story that has you wondering about the next one of Darius‘ HEA.

Update:
Just listened to the ALC and - what can I say. Bradley Ford and Isabelle Ruther are probably, no - definitely the best duo to bring Nomar and Lisette to life. Great voices that just suits perfectly. Though, I gotta say, that french accent is something you have to get used to - but that comes with the territory. Nevertheless, wonderful!

Rogue Operator
Gone Rogue, Book 5
By: Patricia D. Eddy
Narrated by: Bradley Ford, Isabelle Ruther

Patricia D. Eddy blows me away with another fantastic story set in her amazing “Gone Rogue” series, a series of romantic suspense novels. While each book stands on their own, it is beneficial to enjoy them in order written, characters cross over into each other’s books and knowing their backstories adds some depth, besides each book is just as amazing as the other. “Rogue Operator” starts off with Nomar and other team members on an action-packed, heart pounding rescue mission, where they were extracting one person, but Nomar saw others needed saving too and he got them out too. Lisette was a prisoner of her own life, stuck in a marriage with a controlling and brutal man, her only joy in her son, Mateen, despite his poor health. A rescue team came to get the American doctor out and one of them helped her and her son escape, but it was difficult to get out of Afghanistan, and her rescuer, Nomar, a force to be reckoned with had his own injuries, ones that he would not let slow him down. It was great to watch these two get to know each other as they navigate their way not only out of the country but to get medical attention for her son. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and he was great with Mateen, too. Just when things are settling for them, Nomar gets a call from the President, for another assignment, one he could not turn down. A short-term assignment, taking him off the grid, turned out to be several years and the guilt that he felt for what he had to do to get the job done ate at him, and kept him from returning to Lisette and Mateen. As soon as he found out that she and Mateen were in danger, he went to protect her. I loved how everything played out in this book, and as always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. There is never a dull moment in this book, the drama is non-stop and there is plenty of action, angst, twists, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Patricia D. Eddy, thank you for another amazing story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧 Bradley Ford and Isabelle Ruther were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting, accents and all. I loved how they took their roles and made them their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound. Ford nailed it as Nomar, grasping every aspect of his personality, and Ruther did the same as Lisette. Both were excellent at performing the roles of all the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These versatile and superbly talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for an exceptional listen.

Rogue Operator
Gone Rogue 5
By Patricia D Eddy
Narrated by Bradley Ford, Isabella Ruther

Now this is a fun listen! Patricia D Eddy is back with her Gone Rogue series and I could not be happier! Her writing is impeccable, each installment is original and includes crossover characters, not just from this series but others I have loved just as much. Nomar is on a mission, and when he finds Lisette and her son Mateen, he just cannot leave them behind in the circumstances they were in. Instant chemistry, Lisette and Nomar become close, but a turn of events takes Nomar back into the field. Years later he is back, and finds Lisette and Mateen again. But while things seemed calmed, danger was back and ready to pounce. This story is exciting, suspenseful and a beautiful love story all wrapped into one. Including Austin, Leo, Wren and Griff just made things that much more fun as they all worked together. I could not stop listening until it was finished!

Bradley Ford is Nomar, a little up tight, very focused and a little thrown by his feelings for Lisette and Mateen. He was fantastic bringing each facet of Nomar's personality alive. Lisette has a lot going on, from her scared, protective feelings to her confident, passionate ones. She changed as the story progressed and Isabella Ruther gave it all to us with her fabulous French accent. Loved these two and truly enjoyed this listen!

**Audiobook Review**

As a huge fan of Patricia D. Eddy’s, I’ve been waiting for the audio for this book and I was not disappointed! “Rogue Operator” is an action packed, thrilling and heartfelt second chance at life military romance that was an amazing story.

This story grabbed me from the beginning and held on to me from the beginning and all the way until the end. The things Lisette went through were unimaginable and she’s such a strong woman and mother. She was so selfless when it came to her son and would do anything to protect him. Nomar had a dark past with what missions he had to do and that left a cloud over him thinking he was never allowed to be happy or accept love from the right person. Nomar was instantly protective and caring over Lisette and Mateen. He truly bonded with them and made sure they were safe. The action and suspense of this story was perfect and so well written, I thought I was right there along with them. I’m so glad Nomar and Lisette found each other and got the happiness they deserved.

Bradley Ford and Isabelle Ruther narrated this audio, both were new to me narrators and I loved listening to them! Bradley brought Nomar’s protectiveness and insecurities alive perfectly and was the perfect choice. Isabelle’s French accent was wonderful and I enjoyed listening to her as Lisette. Her narration was passionate, emotional and brought Lisette alive wonderfully.

Once again this author hits it out the ballpark with another read that had me flipping the pages from the get go, not wanting it to end and wanting more of her characters.
This read spans years and goes back to when Nomar rescues Lisette and her son Mateen from Fakur’s compound, while on a mission to save Dr Joey and Ford. The two have a perilous escape and days before they are safe. The two have a connection and for the first time in years, Lisette feels safe with Nomar but her son takes priority. But before the two can explore what they have, Nomar is off on another lone mission and back to the country he just rescued them from.
Years pass and due to a mistake, Lisette and Mateen are on the radar of another ruthless man and he wants Mateen and Lisette punished…them in danger is the only thing that can bring Nomar back and he will do everything and anything to keep the two of them safe.
Lisette may have needed Nomar years ago but now she wants him….loved this part for the two of them. Lisette, brave, strong, and resilient brings Nomar back from the darkness, they both need and want each other and they finally have a chance at their HEA. Suspense, steam, action, surprises, twists and turns will keep you flipping the pages and falling in love with their story and them.

❤🎧🔥🎧💗 AUDIOBOOK REVIEW!!❤🎧🔥🎧💗
Rogue Operator is an exciting story with beautifully broken heroes and FANTASTIC performances! Patricia Eddy is a fantastic author who pours her heart and soul into these characters and it shows without fail in every story. I always know I will be hooked. Nomar and Lisette are complex and layered characters thrust into devastating circumstances and forced to fight for the ones they love. The storyline is thrilling and I was on the edge of my seat with unexpected twisted turns with heart pounding moments of explosive action and attraction. I always enjoy revisiting characters from former books and other related series, especially when they work an op together to bring down the bad guy!

Bradley Ford and Isabelle Ruther are both new narrators to me, but Patricia Eddy is a wonderful champion of audio and has chosen well for these characters. Both deliver wonderful performances in every moment of the story across many characters, continents, and widely varying circumstances from tenderness to the brutalities of terrible evil. I was easily able to follow the story without losing track of who was doing what, even with the many accents involved. Excellence in audio for sure and I will definitely add these to my #faveylist! Lisette’s beautiful French accent is chef’s kiss!

Nomar and Lisette’s story hits you right in the heart at times shredding it to pieces then healing it with so much emotion. Nomar is an operator that is called in when it’s time to get things done and when he is sent on a mission overseas he not only rescues his target, but in the mission he helps Lisette and her son. Lisette has endured absolutely horrific things in the last ten years and when a chance comes for her to get out of her situation she takes it and doesn’t look back. With the help of Nomar and his team Lisette and her son has a chance at a future that isn’t full of hurt and pain. Nomar is this incredible guy with things that haunt him and even though the connection he feels with Lisette is intense he still walks away thinking they are better off without a broken person dragging them down. He leaves on to the next mission leaving Lisette and her son behind and it isn’t until years later another threat to them has him running to their aide once again. The suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next and these two beautifully broken characters deserve to find their happiness, but will they help heal each other or walk away again leaving themselves shattered? I loved this story and Nomar, it was perfection.

SO GOOD!! This is the fifth book in the Gone Rogue Series, a Military Romance. I read it, and loved it. The audiobook version is amazing. This series is interconnected with the Away From Keyboard Series (AFK), and both series are unique and captivating. Nomar and Lisette's story is grippingly intense, enthralling, entertaining, and engaging, filled with drama, and passion. They are both fantastic characters. Nomar is handsome, protective, and supportive. Lisette is beautiful, strong, and caring. Her son, Mateen, is such a great kid, strong, and brave. The plot is well crafted, intricate, and captivating, filled with action, danger, and twists and turns. The supporting characters are great. I loved to see again some characters from the first books in the series, and from the AFK series. Bradley Ford and Isabelle Ruther did an OUTSTANDING job bringing these characters, and this story to life. I liked their voices together. Ruther 's accent is lovely! They are perfect as Nomar and Lisette. This is an excellent team author/narrators. This audiobook is very pleasant to listen to, and I enjoyed it. If you like Military Romance, this series is for you. I HIGHLY recommend it! Patricia D. Eddy NEVER disappoint.

An intense, thrilling, and emotional story!

This book grabbed me on page one and I’m still thinking about it days later! Nomar and his special forces team break into an Afghan Lords compound to save a captured doctor and come out with a couple of extra people. Right from the beginning I was captivated by the strength Lisette displays and how protective Nomar is of her and her son. The danger surrounding them is powerful and evil. I loved the intensity of not only the action but the emotions that Nomar and Lisette, as well as Mateen, went through. My heart broke for these three on several occasions.

Patricia D Eddy created characters that I’m invested in and have to find out all of their stories. This incredible story has an edge with twists and turns I didn’t see coming. I was on the edge of my seat throughout this book and read well into the night to finish because I just couldn’t put it down. I loved watching Nomar and Lisette heal one another and the innocence and goodness of Mateen bring light and love. I highly recommend it and I can’t wait to read the next book! I received a copy of this book from the author, and this is my honest review.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of ROGUE OPERATOR"
This was one amazing read right from the start its intense intriguing suspense filled drama, action, danger, fear, secrets, steam, its a page turner to the end.

Intense, exciting, suspenseful, dangerous and action packed from the first page until the last. Patricia Eddy does a masterful job on Rogue Operator. Honestly, I was utterly captivated from the first sentence. Nomar Garcia and Lisette Moreau are phenomenal characters. He's the operator who's called upon when all else fails. He frequents the darkest of worlds where only the vilest of humanity resides. She's been living a nightmare for ten years after being taken by a ruthless Afghani trafficker of guns, drugs and women. The only bright spot in her otherwise miserable existence is her young son Mateen. The daring rescue that puts Lisette on Nomar's radar makes Nomar want what he's never had; love, family. Their journey to happiness is filled with pitfalls such as time, distance, confessions and recriminations not to mention a mad man bent on vengeance. This book is a must read if you are a fan of romantic suspense and I can almost guarantee that it will turn you into a Patricia Eddy acolyte!

Oh boy have I missed Patricia.
It's been awhile since audible has been available for this amazing author and she did not disappoint.
What a ride. The action and suspense was right from the get go.
There was some terrible grit and beautiful romance all the way round. Some old characters surfaced which I get so excited with as I love series books and the crossover with "away from the keyboard series "
There were some sexy times weaving amidst the tension and angst and the intricate thought process surrounding the mission was just brilliant.
The narrator's for this book was absolute perfection.
The h was French so the accent was required and Isabelle did it perfectly. As did Bradley when he was required to do so.
Then both switched to the American accent so smoothly it was a pleasure to listen to.
I just adored this book, this writing and this author.
So looking forward to more.

Omg I loved this book. Lisette and Nomar go through so much to be together. You wonder if they are ever going to get a break.
Lisette is kidnapped and forced to marry an abusive man and when Nomar and his special forces team tragic the compound, he can't help but rescue her and her sick son, Mateen.
The chemistry that is displayed between Nomar and Lisette is very passionate but they had to put it on hold for quite a while. I enjoyed the guys and the team spirit and how they all looked after each other.
Nomar was all alpha but with a kind heart. While Lisette had a lot to get over and to stop being afraid all the time.
Patricia Eddy gives us a fantastic book with relatable characters and situations you can't help getting involved in. I was engrossed in this book so I recommend it completely, it was so good. Great book!!

Once again Patricia has given me a book that I don't just read but actually feel as I am drawn into and isn't that the sign of a great author and if you need more to prove that I read until the early hours of the morning because I just didn't want to put it down until a turned the last page.

Nomar is sent into rescue a target from Afghanistan and in the process he also rescues Lisette and her son Mateen he feels an instant connection to Lisette but when the president calls he has tp go so he leaves her behind. Now Mateen is in danger and consequently so is Lisette and there is no way that Nomar won't have their back in fact his entire team will come to their aid. Can they both finally admit that they have loved one another since that first fateful meeting three years earlier and can the get a happy ever after this time You will have to read to see

Patricia Eddy is my #1 go to author when I want military romantic suspense with a side of angst! Her books never fail to deliver, and they are all original! There's no shortage of drama, tears, or action.
While this is a standalone, you will see recurring characters from previous books in this series and her AFK series.
Narration by Bradley Ford and Isabelle Ruther, both new to me narrators. I LOVED that Patricia chose to use newer voices for this book. Bradley embodied Nomar's character so well and Isabell's accent was divine!

Nomar is sent in to rescue a high value asset but can't refuse saving Lisette & her son, Mateen. They have instant chemistry but he's sent on another mission and they lose touch.

Fast forward 3 years to Nomar saving the day once again and these two get their eventual HEA!

Wow! Rogue Operator is one suspenseful, action packed, emotional read.
Lisette was kidnapped 10 years ago and forced to marry a very bad man. When Nomar and his friends show up to save her son's doctor she begs Nomar to take her & her son with them.
The three of them become close in a very short time, until Nomar is summoned by the President to go on a top secret mission. He says goodbye to Lisette, and she never hears from him again.
Years pass, Lisette & Mateen move back to Paris, but she cannot forget Nomar.
When something happens, putting Lisette & Mateen in danger, Nomar returns, promising to keep them both safe. Can they fight the explosive chemistry they both feel?
This was such an awesome read. Once I started it I could not put it down.

An absolutely gripping story from start to finish. Nomar is a very conflicted character who has to do whatever it takes to achieve his missions. During an unsanctioned mission he ends up rescuing a woman and her son from the man who kidnapped her years earlier and kept her as a virtual prisoner. Meeting Lisette has a profound influence on Nomar and his love for her causes him to try to undo many of the things he helped put into motion during previous missions. His biggest challenge will be to keep Lisette and her son safe from the boys father and his family.

Full blown non stop action and romance! Nomar is on a mission in Afghanistan and saves more people than he was ordered to save. Almost immediately he is sent back in a different capacity. But not before he had time to catch feelings for the woman and her son he rescued. This new mission though is difficult and lengthy. This is so well written and edge of you seat drama. Did not put it down! Love the romance that grows over the years as well! Superb!

This is the first book I have read in this series and while it can be read that way, I also think you get much more out of a series if you read from the beginning which means I need to start at book 1 but first….

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and you won’t be able to turn the pages fast enough!
Nomar and Lisette have so many issues that keep pulling at them but they keep at it and finally get the HEA they both need.

This story grabbed hold of me and didn't let go. It was so intense and the characters were so complex. I loved Nomar, Lisette and Mateen. Patricia knocks it out of the park again with her beautifully broken characters. Her stories never fail to draw me in, gripping my emotions because the characters are so real with their traumatic pasts and flaws. I met Nomar and Lissette amd her son books ago, and it was so fulfilling to witness them finally get their story and an happy life. The journey was rough, long, and seemingly impossible at times, but with the support of their found family they get there. And with plenty of action, danger, and edge of your seat suspense to keep you captivated is was terrific. I loved seeing all the previous characters I love as well. Narrators were amazing at bringing the characters to life...Lissette's accent was terrifically done by Isabelle Ruther.
