Zara Van Winkle has always been the good girl. Focused on her future yet secretly wrapped up in her online alter ego that allows her to explore her deepest fantasies. But after her mom abandons her and her dad, leaving Zara to pick up the pieces of their broken hearts, she vows to leave town as soon as she graduates.
And when Nico Westminster-Woods moves home with his mom, everything changes. As much as she despises her new step-brother, the tatted bad boy infiltrates her thoughts and fantasies. But Zara’s not the only one with secrets, and being back in his hometown makes Nico’s demons harder to escape.
While Zara and Nico want nothing to do with one another, the desire that pulls them toward each other quickly becomes too strong to ignore.
When the line between siblings and sin becomes blurred, will they be strong enough to fight temptation?
Trigger Please be aware there is a graphic scene of child sexual abuse and the theme of abandonment in this novel that may cause discomfort.
”Don’t you ever wonder?” Yes, they wondered. I wondered too. Honestly, stepsibling romance is turning out to be one of my favorite tropes and this was really well done. You may not know this author yet, but I think you should add it to your TBR nonetheless for a quick read with all the tension, sexual chemistry, and some feels.
”Nico is everything I fantasize about when sitting alone in my bedroom at night. He’s a dangerous combination of everything I shouldn’t want.” Nico was a class A asshole at first. I mean, he’s obviously hot as hell, but he goes out of his way to annoy Zara. Is she bothered about it? Yes. Does he keep doing it? Obviously. However, there’s something else there, especially when he starts to come closer…
”“Fuck, Princess… you are a man’s worst nightmare and daydream brought to life.” Zara was incredible. I loved that, despite her age, she’s so aware of what’s going on and so willing to give him hell right back. I loved that there are two sides to her personality and both of them are really cool. She’s someone I’d love to hang out with.
”I’m always awake and aware of your every movement in this house. I’m aware of when you slide that slender hand of yours in between your legs at night to pleasure yourself and aware of when you go into the bathroom afterwards to clean up too.” Zara’s dad married Nico’s mom, and it was all fine until he started spending more time at home. Suddenly, he’s everywhere and there’s no escaping him, or his body, or his glances, mixed messages and innuendos. He’s the playboy type, never settling for just one girl, but that does nothing to decrease Zara’s attraction.
”“You would like that, wouldn’t you? Tell me, would you like it dirty? Rough? Do you want me to leave marks on your body that only you will see the next day?” The tension keeps rising. They keep raising the stakes between them. From weird comments, to merciless teasing, to the nearness of him, to touching, to Nico’s special magic fingers… And you’re right there with them, because you can’t help but want more and more.
”I don’t know if I could stop myself from diving heart first until it smashed to pieces at my feet. Would it be worth the fall?” When their parents are away, Zara takes the chance to finally play with him the way he’s been playing her. Turns out Nico is more affected by her than he ever led on. Turns out he knows how much she’s always wanted him. And it seems like a good time to explore that. The shower scene… So. Freaking. Good.
”Something powerful is tugging my heart to his, and I no longer pay attention to the fact that I’m touching him, just that I want more of it.” Once they start getting to know each other’s bodies, they want more. It’s like they don’t care anymore if they get caught because there’s no one but them. But Nico’s hiding something, and more than just having his body, Zara wants to have all of him. That’s going to be hard.
”You can take my control and pleasure anytime, Nico. It’s yours. Fuck, my body and mind are now yours,” I loved their first time together. It doesn’t come from a place of love, not really, not at that time, but you know the feelings that linger beneath the surface. Nico only needs a push to finally see what they have, and what they can have. A future together.
My only complaint is that I wanted more of them. The tension was great, but I’d love to see the aftermath a bit more, and on page. Because I know how good these two are for each other, so I missed a bit more romance.
”Whether I’m Nico’s Princess or Queen, all that matters is that I’m his.” Zara says it all in this sentence. Nothing else matters but the fact that they belong to each other, and together. You can see that from page one, but I loved being on this journey with them.
I am in love with this story. The steam and slow burn is so good. I was on the edge of the seat. Zara sass and Nico cocky ways, plus the seducing she did for him gosh. There is no way he would resist her because they both were into each other but wouldn't admit it. Nico is such a wonderful guy when you get to know him you'll know his story and I'm happy he'll move on. Zara the lil seduction queen you go for it give Nico a taste of his own medicine haha but then he give you back the same so it's not a win win but a lose lose because your brain goes all mushy when he near or sight of him but you did good. *Sigh* I love the way she stand up for him It was the sweetest thing she could ever done for him after hearing his story I cried. The ending was so beautiful. My heart filled with so much love for them. I'm so happy they go together. This book brings out my emotions and I can't wait for everyone to read it and enjoy it the same way i did. They are both wonderful characters and you'll enjoy every minute of them together. There are parts you'll laugh, cry and want to go into the story and join the fight but it's all worth it in the end.

This was not what I expected but oh was it good. I knew when the description said taboo that I needed to read it and the best part is I like this author's previous books. No, you do not need to read those. This couple was completely different from one another. Zara was the picture of a perfect daughter while Nico was the bad boy stepbrother. The tension between them was the right amount for this book. Oh and that twist I did not see coming. Did I know something big was going to happen? Yes but not that big. Prepare yourself. I'm hopeful that Nico's and Zara's best friends get books.
This book is labelled as an enemies to lovers romance. It didn't really come across that way to me....it was more sexual tension then the latter.
This book tells the story of 2 stepsiblings, during a tension filled month/s living together, as they get closer, feelings start to form.
Zara - 18yrs, student, the schools/towns "good girl". Tired of living up to the perfect good girl image expected of her, wanted out of that town. Nico - 18yrs, just recently moved back home to his mums place, with his new stepsister and stepfather. I really felt for him and glad he got some peace and happiness in the end.
One of the MC's did have issue with intimacy, in which they needed to have control. I liked the fact that it was not insta love and that both characters were supportive of the other towards the end. And this book does include an epilogue - 1 year later.
Triggers (graphic scene of sexual abuse ) this part can be skipped without affecting the story flow, see Spoiler
God this book was hot!!! I was really craving a taboo romance & this book hit the spot. A step-siblings, enemies to lovers, forced proximity book that had me throbbing & weak in the knees!
The tension was so freaking good & this book was hotter than I was expecting it to be!!
If you want a quick, spicy read that’s filthy & taboo, then pick this one up!!
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes: Taboo Step-siblings Forced proximity Enemies to lovers
This was my first book book I’ve read by Alexandria Goncalves and really enjoyed her writing style. Kept me waiting to turn the page to see how the things would go for Nico and Zara. This book was a roller coaster I felt so many emotions reading it happy, sad, mad, angry…you name the emotions is there!
If you like forbidden romance you gonna love this book, and it’s a quick read the book is under 300 pages!
I would definitely recommend this book! And I hope Ash gets his own book!!
This was a wonderful read, it was quick, gave lots of detail and I enjoyed the writing. I loved getting to know Zara and Nico.
These two had chemistry from page one. From the moment they stepped on the page together you could feel the annoyance and tension they were bringing forth, especially being so close to each other at home and school. With Zara and Nico people have preconceived notions of who they are, while partly true they are both so much more than meets the eye.
I loved the banter and teasing they shared, and boy does Zara give as good as she gets! Once these two give in and start to admit feelings, there is no going back (hint: you don’t want them too)!
Zara’s confidence and knowledge of what she wants, her goals and true self were so great to see. She shows people the proper, focused, helpful, smart side of herself but is so much more in depth. She keeps her alter ego a secret from everyone, but I loved that side of her. She is true to herself and has an overall fantastic personality. I love that! Nico, what a beautiful character, he is angry and has a chip on his shoulder-but there is something about him that draws you in and pulls on your heart strings. You need to know more about him and his whole story is. I loved watching his character grow throughout the story.
These two both struggle with letting people close to them, but have an undeniable connection. Are they able to let each other in or will they continue with their annoyed coexistence?
Make sure to check the content warning, if needed.
I look forward to what this author has in mind for her next book. There are a couple supporting character that are pretty enticing as well!

Such a great read! I love a good enemy to lovers! Plus with a bit of taboo and you got me hooked!
Zara puts on a persona that she’s this sweet good girl. But she keeps her real self locked away. When she’s a total vixen!
Nico is her new step brother, who just moved back home. At first he seems like just a broody, closed off, jerk, who likes to torment her. The chemistry between these two 🔥🔥🔥 Once they both realize that they have an actual attraction to one another & start letting the other person in, they get to see the real person.
It does contain childhood trauma. 💔
It’s a slow burn, but with enough heated moments to make it not feel like a actual slow burn! Which I totally loved! I wasn’t a huge fan of them both only being 18, but that was my only real dislike. Which I was able to ignore 🤣 Devoured this book in less then 24 hrs!
The tension and chemistry between the step-siblings is palpable. The banter and slow burn makes it even hotter! I am sweating during some of their spicy scenes—what a tease! This book is fun, dirty and steamy! I love reading forbidden romance stories and Nico-Zara gave it.
Ok first off Ms Alexandria you absolutely nailed it (no pun intended😂) with the step siblings trope and the spice…. Girl you absolutely slayed take a bow 👏🏼 That slow burn and tension had me hooked! And these two and their interactions had me kicking my feet giggling 😂
Nico and Zara can’t stand each other they love to push each others buttons but they are also drawn to each despite the fact that they are step siblings. Nico and Zara are so different, Nico is the tatted bad boy and Zara is the picture perfect daughter but Zara isn’t the goodie goodie that everyone thinks she is Zara has a secret online alter ego but Zara isn’t the only one with a secret Nico hides a very big secret about his past and it’s why he keeps everyone at arms length.
Nico’s past absolutely broke my heart it was definitely a difficult part to read because how sad it was but my heart was soared with how close it brought him with zara, and also his mum Claire (not gonna lie was pissed at her at first but so glad she finally done what was right!)
The spice, the writing, the characters… everything was amazing I did not want to put this book down I was hooked from the start! I really hope Ash gets a book he had me in knots laughing I loved his banter!
My 3rd book from this author and can say for sure i will own everything and anything this woman writes!! Loved these characters, yes i cried coz who wouldnt but so happy with this whole book! 💗
Zara VanWinkle is my spirit animal! She is a perfect student and daughter , that’s what everyone sees. But she has an alter ego, who is her real self. This part of her is hidden from the world, until...
Nico Westminster Woods is the new shining toy in the school and every girl wants to play with him. But he wants the only girl who is totally off-limits to him, his precious stepsister.
The air just vibrates around these two from the beginning and you want it to happen. While we’re getting to know them, their connection is getting stonger and you just know they’re meant to be together. I loved Zara and how vocal she was with her needs and just took it without any hesitation. She wasn’t that girl who everyone thought she is, the only one who really saw her was Nico. He fought so hard against to let her close. It’s not a surprice after what happened to him. But Zara held his hands and stayed next to him, it doesn’t matter how hard he tried to push her away.
I laughed, cried and fell in love with them. Also I’m looking forward to read about Savannah and Ash, because damn the tension between these two..
First I'd like to thank Alexandria for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review. Now let me tell you, this may have been a step-sibling romance, but the spice was not lacking...
From the beginning you can tell that Zara and Nico just do not get along. There's a lot of push and pull with hate laced throughout, however you can also get that angst and sexual tension of both wanting what they shouldn't have.
One thing for me, is I wished there was a bit more sneaking around. It is a taboo subject and definitely a forbidden romance even if they're not blood related... so I was hoping there would be more moments of that, where you feel like they're about to get caught. It felt like it was more noticeable to outsiders that they were hooking up.
There's one part at the end where I wasn't expecting it at all, but I had a sneaking suspicion that something was going on. Throughout the book, you just get this feeling that a shoe is about to drop, but nothing exact to pinpoint on. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen between Zara and Nico!
Overall this was a good story, and definitely hot and heavy. I do wish there was more to the story though, and I felt like some parts were just skipped over, like the fact that he took her V-card, but it was pretty much never mentioned. I think a little more time and pages to help develop their characters would have helped bring it to another level. But I was entertained, and they weren't shy of keeping things hot!
Oh do I love a step-sibling romance and this was such a good one. A quick read that fulfilled my love for that trope. Such an angsty tension filled slow burn because don’t we all love when the resolve snaps?
Nico Westminster-Woods moves back home with his mom after she gets remarried and meets his new stepsister Zara Van Winkle. Of course they instantly don’t like each other but it’s more that they don’t like how they each make each other feel. Both attracted to one another and neither wanting to be the one that gives in first. Let me tell you the sexual tension was THICK, the teasing and flirting they both dish out was so good! I loved all the stolen moments and sneaking around.
Nico had a particular trait in regards to not allowing anyone to touch him I was intrigued to find out along with Zara as to why this was. When you find out, my heart ached for him so just be aware that there is some heavy subject matter to his. Zara also hides a part of herself in regards to an alter ego she has online, she uses it as a way to express herself and yes Nico has quite a bit of fun when he finds out about it.
Oh and the little shoutout for Ignite was too cute, I laughed so loud. Because yes our girl Zara loves to read romance books just like us! And damn if Nico doesn’t rise to the occasion.
🅑🅞🅞🅚 🅡🅔🅥🅘🅔🅦 Okay I just looooove step sibling romances, they are just always so deliciously forbidden!😉🔥🔥 This book had that slowburn but oh was the tension burning!
Zara Van Winkle has always been the good girl who focuses on her grades and stays in line, but she’s hiding a secret. She has a alter ego and I loved how she was so confident in her body.
Nico Westminster-Woods is the tattooed bad boy that’s hiding some inner demons. He finally moves back into his mothers home after 10 years and now has new stepsister so he decides to have some fun with her.
There was so much teasing between Zara and Nico and oh was the sneaking around hot! I thought this was an enjoyable read and I’m so glad to have read this book from a new-to-me author! This contains some tough topics so check the trigger warning before reading. But if you love step siblings romances, definitely check this one out!
Zara finds herself with all new challenges when her dad and Nico’s mom end up together. She wants to hate him at first, but really I think she’s more intrigued and turned on by him. They try everything to keep each other at arms length including being cruel to one another but the pull is too magnetic for them to resist.
I love their banter and their games they essentially play with each other. It’s so much pent up and built up and when they explode it’s phenomenal. Because if their situation they are more of a slow burn but everything they go through before that is just their fun way for foreplay.
One things I’ve realized is I really love taboo romance, and especially step brother. It just has this whole other level of not allowed that makes it that much more exciting. Alexandria Goncalves made my craving satisfied with this one!
I went into Touch of Sin with high hopes after falling in love with the first book I read by Alexandria Goncalves. That one completely swept me away — the emotional depth, the tension, the writing — it all hit perfectly. Sadly, Touch of Sin just didn’t live up to that same standard for me.
The biggest issue was the disconnect I felt from the characters, especially Nico. I never felt fully immersed in their world or invested in their journey. The emotions stayed on the surface, and while there were moments that hinted at intensity, they didn’t go deep enough to really land.
I also had a hard time with the cover — it gave me such a specific image of Nico that it actually prevented me from building my own version of him in my head. Normally I love visualizing characters my own way, but here, it affected how I related to him.
This taboo step siblings romance was an 𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒔𝒕𝒚 𝒔𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒆 and I was jumping in head first.
It’s not always easy for you to find yourself rooting for step siblings to get together but you couldn’t help it with Zara and Nico. The tension between these two is unmatched. I was 𝗦𝗪𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 during some of these scenes! She’s the good girl with a hidden alter-ego, he’s the bad boy all the girls want. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for him to absolutely ruin her.
I enjoyed the mysteriousness of Nico’s past and how Zara was able to start to see through his bad boy facade. The way Nico began to come out of his shell for Zara was so sweet 🥹
This is a stand-alone and Alexandria’s third self published book. Her writing on this one absolutely pulled me in. I could not get enough of this love story and already find myself wanting to revisit some of my favorite scenes (𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙧𝙮 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢 🥵). Thank you so much Alexandria for the opportunity to read and honestly review this ARC which is now live on KU and Amazon!
🚨TW - there are topics some readers may find uncomfortable.
When I tell you this book was so GOOD. With a cast of layered and dynamic characters with so much heart, it was an absolute joy of a read. The chemistry between Nico and Lara was off the charts and the spice….😮💨 so good!
This book played with tropes in a way that is so delightful. The author weaved together a treasure trove of romance tropes into the plot making it hit every sweet spot I have. But beyond that, she also played with character tropes, inverting expectations in an unexpected and refreshing way.
For everyone who loves a good forbidden romance with all of the banter, definitely treat yourself to Touch of Sin. It’s got angst, steam, mystery…all of it!
So, this is the 2nd book in my 'Insta brought me here' series (Haunting Adeline was the first) and this wasn't bad. It definitely could have been shorter as I felt some aspects were repetitive, but still saucy nonetheless. You can tell from early on that Nico had some sort of trauma going on and towards the end it comes to light- and it wasn't a shock to me tbh. Zara has the quintessential abandonment issues going on for her. They both have their hea although to me it seemed rushed but at that point, I didn't care anymore cause it was over.
So....this was everything I didn't need I wanted. So much taboo goodness. So much chemistry, angst, banter and tension. These two are literally chalk and cheese. But their attraction and connection is off the charts. Zara is focused, driven, hard working, caring and so helpful but struggles with her feelings. Nico is the bad boy you are warned to stay away from but is misunderstood but boy, the feelings he has for Zara 😍. I loved their story
Absolutely loved this story! The energy and chemistry was INSANE. Like, I couldn’t sit still, at all!! Such a beautiful, emotional story. I am obsessed. Will instantly reread! Nico & Zara forever❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was such an amazing read. I was sucked in from the very first page all the way til the end. I loved both Zara and Nico. My heart absolutely broke reading what happened with Nico in the past. The ending to this was just perfection. Definitely going on my top reads of the year!
The overall romance was great. A short slow burn with lots of spice. Zara and Nico tried to fight their connection but never because it was taboo. They tried to push each other away but couldn’t help themselves. I loved Zara and her devil/ angel side.
I absolutely love Nico...I knew with all the teasing back and forth it was gonna end with them hooking up. Poor Nico. I'm so glad that woman got put behind bars. And the parents didn't fuss about their relationship. They are amazing together ❤️
