Rogue Royal I just need to finish senior year and I'll have access to my inheritance. I'll be able to leave everything behind and never come back. Until Bellamy. She's new. From Chicago. And she's everywhere. I hate her.
Bellamy Ward I don't know what I did to Rogue to make him hate me. Sure, I spilled a milkshake on him, but that wouldn't make someone hate me. Right? Wrong. He's decided to make my life hell. But I'm here to finish out senior year at an elite school so I can change my life and my mom's life for the better. I'm not going to let him distract me or break me.
Khai Hara is an American author currently based out of New York City. An avid fan of the romance genre, her debut novel 'Long Live The King' comes after years of planning. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, reading and spending time with her boyfriend and their dog Thunder.
I so wanted to love this read. I was so hyped up from all the FB rec about a bully romance with a obsessed OTT JP anti-hero that was a unique and new take on this genre that I couldn’t wait to read this. Ugh I hate to say it but what a huge disappointment 😢. I’m angry that I fell for this hype. It was unfortunately the same old same old. Nothing original about the story or characters. I hate to do this to a new author but please hear me out in this one.
This is a typical tortured H that takes out his anger on others and the doormat FMC that just can’t help herself but fall for his abuse….we all know how the story goes.
🖕🏻Guy passionately HATES new girl for NO real reason other than she exists. 🖕🏻Girl is a doormat and falls for H even though he treats her lower than dirt cause, ya know, he’s hot. 🖕🏻Guy decides he want to F*ck the girl until he had his fill but only after other men show interest. 🖕🏻Girl gives him her V card and her heart even though he tells her he doesn’t want anything but smex. 🖕🏻Guy constantly use OW to prove that she isn’t special. 🖕🏻Girl fights w her sassy words but her actions never back them up. 🖕🏻The whole story line has been done a million times over. It’s typical cheap stupid drama and no real storyline. 🖕🏻Oh and Her name-Bellamy- doesn’t make this a unique read. Nor does the location.
Now to the real stuff that made me 🖕🏻to all these 4 & 5 star rave reviews…. And what’s got me a mad.
The H is NOT OBSESSED or OTT or JP. Not at all….. let me lay it out. And if your a avid reader of obsessed OTT JP reads you’ll understand.
-H is slightly obsessive in his thoughts towards her but NEVER acts on them. Ok so he doesn’t want other guys hitting on her. That’s normal. A obsessed OTT JP guy doesn’t break up w his obsession or refuse to commit to more than just smex. He holds on to her no matter what, does anything to get and keep her. But this H was…
-Calling her names throughout and belittling her.
-telling her she’s like all the other girls he’s banged/ nothing special.
-telling her he only want smex…. Like up to the end.
-saying in his mind and to her that they should just have smex until they are done with each other a walk away as friends.
-NEVER chasing her when he’s hurt her or fixing things- his friends do that for him. They are the ones to explain what the H “really” feels or how he doesn’t mean what he says. NEVER does the H fix things until the end. The h just lays down and accepts his horrid treatment of her.
-his POV was constantly wish washy. 😳And this was still happening at like 80% in.
-saying that someone is obsessed in the book doesn’t make them obsessed it’s their actions as well and his never added up to the “obsessed” theme.
-I Mean he didn’t even know he loved her or wanted to keep her till like 85-90% of the way in. Till the very end!!!! How is that obsessed OTT JP?😳 I mean it never crossed his mind to want her for more than a short time and for smex.
😡And then there’s All the OW drama😤…. -He used is ex to shove in her face whenever he needed to make a point.
-He even called his ex for a hook up at about 30% in when he was at a party so he could bang her to get his mind off the h, ya know, cause he hated her for no reason. He had every intention to hookup w OW and didn’t cause the h walked in. He let this OW constantly grope his shirtless body, sit on his lap and so on.
-He let this OW bully the h.
-He even had a big set up in the end where he used the OW to break up w the h to “protect” her🙄… like that’s so original. He made it look like her was going to f*ck the OW. So obvi the OW was groping him, clothes were removed and he had to touch the OW to some extent.
-He even ran after the h to make sure she knew she was nothing to him, that he used her to get his ex back and that he was gonna bang his ex.
-Now🙄 he technically did not cheat. Or even really touch the OW…. BUT he had intents at one point to hook up and others times her used the OW to hurt the h. This was a running theme in the book up to the end.
He lets her think for weeks that he hooked up w OW. Of course his friends have to intercede in his behalf. What a d0uche.
So this is NOT a safe book if you are OW sensitive. And again I say… not obsessed…Not unique… this is the same old cheap drama.
And the final nail🔨for me was the ZERO amount of grovel… he didn’t even have to work to get her back. She legit just jumped on his d!ck immediately after he explained and all was good. Then bam epilogue. This is not how you do a storyline like this… no grovel, no work, no redemption, no time for healing or to even see them as a official couple.
So🤦🏼♀️ this was so typical bully nonsense and not even anything memorable. I was highly disappointed. I’ve read this before time and again and honestly I’m so tired on this genre unless it’s unique with a redemption arc and I would not have even ventured into this one had I not been led to believe it was so different from the rest. This H was a d0uche and was not worth my time. The FMC was a doormat that of course loved him no matter what he did.

Ffuuuuuuuuuckkkkkk! This book is so bad. BBBBBBAAAAAAADDDDDD!!!! Imma be the naysayer as usual and say I had to dnf this at 49%. All these people saying he's jealous and possessive over her blah blah blah. No.
Here are the reasons I can't with this book at 49%. Cuz I tried. I really tried to finish but 👇
1. she gets there and he absolutely HATES her because she's american. That's your only reason for not liking someone?!!! Bruh, get the fucc outta here with your fuccin self. 😬 2. Hes constantly at her throat. Hes either grabbing it, shoving his thumb in it to make her gag, wrapping his hand around it constantly. My GAH. Bruh. Just buy her a scarf! 😂😂😂😂😂🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦😂🤦😂🤦😂🤦😂🤔 3. She is the stupidest biatch I've ever read about 😂 he tells her that he'll get rid of her detention record if shes his slave for the six weeks that they have detention. She says yes. He tells her that shes coming to his house to just SLEEP with him and she mentions his father. He tells her to shut the fuck up (😳😳😬😬) and not to talk for the time that she's therr. And she fuccin listens to him!!!!!!! Are you shittin me?! You are out of your gd mf assswipe tissue MIND if you're gonna tell me that and expect me to listen to you! Then his friend (who live with the H) ask her what's wrong, she texts him her answer 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👀 ma bazaar 4. Bbs. Body betrayal syndrome. Nuff said 5. The slow burn. Jaysus. There's no love, no romance, no nuffin except for her spankinggg her and making her have the bbs and him fingerrring her forever and ever. Ma Gaza ahhh 6. There are grammar errors everywhere (like no periods after a sentence) and no editor to be seen. There was even a sentence about China and a repeat in the sentence that I don't think anyone caught and it was so jarring and annoying. Ill !make the highlight available so you can see
Fucc this book. It sucked ass. On to the next. Lifes too short for a bad fuccing book. Im mad that I spent this much time on this. Can you tell?
This is my first book from this author and I’ve seen so many people loving her books and omg they all WERE RIGHT. Everyone saying that these are RINA KENT BOOKS BUT ON STEROIDS???
I got a rec for this book from booksta and they were all stating that this authors books are RINA KENT BOOKS but ON STEROIDS??? SIGN ME UPPP. Now I have 3 other books in this series and I’m so excited to read about Bellamy and Rogue’s friends<33 there’s a LOT of obsessions here in this book! This series reminds me of legacy of gods in the best way possible !! I absolutely devoured this book during a day lol and can’t wait to read more of Khai Hara’s books 🤭
The relationship and chemistry between Bellamy and Rogue was so good I even forgot I was reading lots of time because it was so interesting, like how they MET. She literally accidentally splashed her whole milkshake on him w his 3 other BILLIONAIRE friends on his sides ON HER FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL. This is a bully romance ITS SO SO SO GOOD.
DNF @ 19% - the reason for the bullying is idiotic. The hero just seems like an out of control prick who bullies arbitrarily.
Add this to the info dump (lots of tell, not much show) about all the characters and the ridiculous dialogue between teenage girls, who just met, using phrases like "razor sharp wit" when describing a friend, and "there's a darkness there that he's got tightly controlled" to describe a cute boy. 👀🙄
People don't talk that. Especially teenage girls. That sounds like a 45 year old woman.

self note: don't read it. some people really be making the most misleading reels on bookstagram saying that dude's J/P, OTT and boy obsessed when, in fact, there's a SHIT TON of immaturity, miscommunication, OW drama and pointless bullying smh. thank fuck for GR friends' spoiler reviews.
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trope: bully, high school Angst: 😱😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
This is the first book by Khai Hara and I actually ended up really enjoying it. Not a super original storyline, but it was well written and flowed well. I was impressed when I figured out it was her first book. Smexy was hot and it had tons of side characters I'm definitely interested in hearing more about. It seems like the other books are going to be running concurrently with this one, time-wise. My only complaint was that I wish there was a good grovel, but that was about it. Definitely would recommend and can't wait to see how her writing develops!
Too much OW drama and no grovel no redeeming qualities. You don’t feel the love at all. Toxic H and not the good kind of toxic either. Skip this and move onto the second book, it’s at least a little better
For one I cannot believe this page is not filled with reviews for this book. I started reading this book and instantly cleared my schedule for the day cause I knew I wasn’t gonna get anything done for the day. I ignored my responsibilities and my family so I could focus on this story cause it was that good. Lol. I loved how loving and kind the heroin was no matter how mean the Hero was being to her. She was also able to grow a back bone during the book and standing up to the Hero when he would lash out at her. I also loved how at first the Hero was trying his best to make the heroines life hell bust instantly became jealous the second another guy took interest in her and was manipulative to keep her around him at all times.. the spice in this book was amazing and I would say it was a nice dark read for me. Not too dark more like a medium dark.
Long Live The King is a debut novel by Khai Hara. Any reader who enjoys OTT J/P alpha hole will love this story. The chemistry between to main leads was sizzling! The h’s name was so unique…Bellamy! I loved it! I will keep a lookout for the next book in this series! Good job Khai!
I wanted to read Nera’s book but found out it was a series so I was like ‘might as well’ and here we are.
Bellamy (fc: Derya Pınar Ak)
She’s better than me when what happened, happened. She didn’t take any of Rouge’s BS and stood up for herself which is nice. She did kinda annoy me I’ll be honest…
Rouge (fc: Toni Mahfud)
Honestly therapy is for him and he should’ve gone there in the first place. He had his own problem and let it out on Bellamy which is wtf. But I do feel bad for him and what happens behind closed doors. I will give him some points for how he treated Bellamy on her period…that scene was so cute!
·:*¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨*:·
Like I said I wanted to read Nera’s book but wanted to read the whole series which I probably won’t do.
This book was interesting-ish I couldn’t put it down the first time and there were times when I didn’t want to read it.
I think I’ve grown up and I actually don’t mind if the book has smut or not. This one had a lot of it which my god!
I didn’t like THAT scene bc the reasoning was stupid and then Bellamy’s own mother and best friend defended-ish Rouge which wtf?!?! (I could never forgive or go back so easily)
I needed more hate to love/ enemies to lovers I feel like we got some but not enough for me-
·:*¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨*:·
Overall 2.75/5 stars ★
I wouldn’t continue the series maybe just read the fourth book and that’s it.
Loved this couple!!! Just the right amount of darkness and bullying for me(not a fan of the extreme)
Rogue was OTT JP and all about Bell even when he tried to hate her. Yes the reason for the hate was a little weak but it was actually dealt with pretty quickly. What we mostly see is a guy trying to exert some control in a world where he doesn’t have any. We also get a heroine who enjoys his intensity. Rogue grows so much in the book and it’s awesome to see him develop emotionally. You will get to see so many tender moments between Rogue and Bell as well❤️❤️❤️❤️ There will be no question how much they love eachother.
The sex scenes were🥵🥵🥵
HEA✅ Epilogue
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Especially looking forward to Phoenix and Six.
Wow. Where do I begin? For a first debut this book was amazing. I know from just seeing the cover and reading the blurb it was going to be an amazing read . And let me tell you .It grabbed me from the first page to the end . I didn’t want it to finish. The chemistry between Bellamy and Rogue was just scorching and the sex was burning the pages up each time. God this book going to have in a funk for months I just know it because I will be searching for another book just as good . 😩
4.5 🌟 SWOONNNN🫠💓 I’m surprised I haven’t heard enough about this book? ITS LOVEEEE🖤 3.75/5 🌶 (definitely loved the spice) And when it’s bully, jealous and possessive hero, just know that I’m gonna love it no matter what! 🫡🫠🫶🏼 I loveeee Bellamy and Rogue so muchhh 💕 I ATE THIS UP, it was a quick read for me bec it’s entertaining throughout (apart from the itsy bitsy stupid drama) I loved both of their friend groups so much and can’t wait for their books as well. 😍
»You won the lottery with her. She's the most patient, kind, and loyal person I've ever met and absolutely incapable of protecting herself from assholes like you, which is where I come in.«
★ ★ ★ ★
❥ 𝑩𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒚 She is loyal, sweet and confident. I liked her and could relate to her. She puts Rogue in his place (at least in the first half of this book) and I enjoyed the banter.
❥ 𝑹𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆 He is a asshole but has a good heart (deep down). It was fascinating to read how he fell in love with Bellamy. But I still didn‘t forgive him for his actions at the end of the book.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 This book could have been an five star read easily but sadly there is a lot of shit going down the last 100 pages. The plot is thrilling and interesting with some twists and morally dark characters. Like I said the last few pages „destroyed“ the story for me because Rogue gets back to being an full blown asshole. Of course he is the bad boy and all but he truly cared for Bellamy and it’s not acceptable for me how he treats her at the end. There is literally NO grovelling what‘s the hardest part. I could have forgive Rogue if he grovels and fights for Bellamy but NOTHING. I‘m kinda sad because this book was so good the first 75-80% and I loved it with every part of my heart: it was dark and twisted with likeable characters and great tension. Overall I still enjoyed the story. Bellamy and Rogue are perfect for each other and I liked them together. The pages just flew by and I couldn‘t stop reading. It‘s a bully romance so check the triggers.
𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤? Yes, I think. Up to 80% this book is perfect and as a fan of bully romance you should at least try it.
𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬 possessive and protective hero, forced proximity, college, psycho in love, enemies to lovers, poor x rich, traumatic past, morally dark hero, over the top hero, alphahole, secrets and lies, bully romance, she fell first but he fell harder, one bed
𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 ages: both in their early twenties I think cheating: owd drama sharing: no kinks: no
𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 God of Malice - Rina Kent Alluring Darkness - Raven Wood Hating You - J.L. Beck Brutal Heir - Eden O‘Neill
Give me a Rogue anyday love him and all his Obsession with Bellamy they suited well all the other side characters can't wait for their stories either....highly recommend 😀😃😄😀😃😄😀😃😄👍👍👍
I thoroughly enjoyed this high school bully romance. There are some editing issues, but the story itself is spicy, and pulled my emotions and my attention. I'll read the next book in the series, whenever it comes.
If you like dark bully romances similar to Rina Kent's books, you should read this. The book is not perfect, but it is exactly what it advertises: a bully romance. There is non-con and dark bullying by the mmc who has a hatred for Americans due to something that is later explained in the book. The fmc is a scholarship student from the US and she comes to Europe along with her best friend for school. Like in most bully romance the mmc has a group of friends that are ‘dangerous’ and in control and i once again ask why 17/ 18 year old nepo babies have so much power. The romance was cute i don’t know it just worked for me 🫣. Its steamy and there’s also a mystery aspect to it which was interesting. Overall it was okay
This book was brilliant. I need a man like rogue. He possessive and jealous and absolutely obsessed with bellamy. There relationship started off with bullying and ended with love but none of it was easy. The chemistry and steam in this book is off the charts hot 🔥🔥🔥. The side characters (there friends) are great in this and hopefully they get there stories writen too. I need another book to read that was this amazing
This was one good trashy book. It should be everything what is wrong but sometimes that is everything what is right.
It had gazillion tropes. It was toxic. It had OTT j/p H. It had unrealistic cheesy action happening in the end.
And it worked. Oh boy how it worked! It was freaking brilliant.
It had few of my favourite book vibes going on.
Toxic relationship- Beautiful Disaster Hero who doesn’t know no and bulldozers into h life-Untouchable Unrealistic action- #nerd
Those came to my mind while reading this book. I truly love the friendship going on. I am sucker for friend groups and them getting their own book. I will get to the next one.
🔸no cheating 🔸toxic is thy name so yes ow/om drama for the purpose of jealousy 🔸virgin h 🔸manwhore-ish H 🔸high school 18y olds 🔸domestic abuse 🔸extremely rough sex 🔸 holy hell hot smexy times 🔸condoms used/ then not, h on pill 🔸few weeks separation 🔸standalone
DNF 20% Давно такої хріні не бачила Схоже на фанфік Deviant King Ріни Кент, але настільки погано написано, що просто іспанський сором через сторінку, логіка пішла кудись з перших сторінок і до цього часу не повернулася.
i really thought i would like this book but this one was really not it for me.
first and foremost, do not go into this book with the expectations that it’s going to be like aiden and elsa’s book. imo it’s nowhere even close to it. i would say the ingredients look the same but the taste and the end product are completely different. other than the fact that it’s a bully romance, rogue’s father owns the school, bellamy’s friend has some betrayal plot track with one of rogue’s friends (kim and knight), and another one of rogue’s friends is a misfit like ronan, nothing is like deviant king. so if you’re going in thinking you’ll get something of the same vibe, just don’t. i went in thinking it would be of a similar vibe but it wasn’t and that mistake is all on me.
now i don’t know if i’ve grown out of high school romance or if reading dramione fanfictions have really pulled up my standards for this trope but a lot of this book felt childish to me. this isn’t in any way a bad thing because we could argue that high school students think/behave like this, but for me it just didn’t work. i don’t have an issue with the scenes not being realistic/practical to real life considering i absolutely adore deviant king but i guess it’s more towards how the world building is done.
i really wished there was more mystery to rogue and something that truly made him lethal. a lot of his characteristics traits were simply said rather than shown. his POV just wasn’t for me, and his hate for bellamy felt random and just unnecessary. i wished it was more raw and cold.
idk if it’s a me problem that i wasn’t able to get into this book or if it just wasn’t my cup of tea but if i were to read any further than i already did i’m sure i’ll fall into a book slump.
Cute, hilarious, angsty, clever and fun, these characters will have you going through all the feels! The plot was really good, although slightly predictable, this story gripped me right from the first paragraph. I enjoyed the character development and the fact that the author didn’t shy away from trauma based reactions and the incidents that caused said trauma. Bellamy and Rogue are a total vibe! I’m hoping that the supporting characters stories are just as mercurial as this one was.
