Nantucket Sunset #5

A Nantucket Promise

Rate this book
Quentin Copperfield never thought it would come to this. He had everything. Where did he go wrong?

Quentin's at the top of his game. He's the nightly news anchor for the biggest broadcast company in the United States. On top of that, he has three beautiful children and a wonderful wife, Catherine. What more could he want?

But life isn't done with him yet. Out of the blue, his wife is diagnosed with cancer, and Quentin finds himself reeling. With Catherine so sick, his career no longer matters to him, and his father's invitation to Nantucket is looking more and more appealing. Maybe he should take his family out of the city for a while. Maybe he should make up for all the time he gave to his career instead of his family.

Meanwhile, Quentin's oldest daughter, Scarlet, is in the midst of her own upheaval. For years, she and her father have fought about Scarlet's boyfriend, a filmmaker she lives with in Brooklyn. These days, Scarlet and Quentin hardly speak.

Unfortunately, when all of Scarlet's belongings are stolen, she suspects her boyfriend's the criminal. Is it possible Quentin was right about him all this time?

As Quentin and Scarlet help Catherine fight against cancer, father and daughter must set aside their differences. It just so happens that the Island of Nantucket is the perfect backdrop for this reunion. On top of that, Quentin just might have the resources to ensure Scarlet's boyfriend pays for the crimes he's committed.

Dive into book five of this women's fiction series set on the Island of Nantucket. It's a glorious world of beautiful beaches, frothing waves, cobblestone streets, and a beloved cast of characters. The series tells the story of the Copperfield Family, their return to Nantucket Island, and their healing after decades of pain and loneliness. Together, they can be better than ever before.

A Nantucket Promise is book 5 in the Nantucket Sunset series by Katie Winters and the Copperfields.

Love the interactions between the characters, the growing pains, twists, turns, brining family back to the fold, drama, coming back to Nantucket and so much more…can’t wait for more in this series. Also glad to see old friends too!

This is the 5th book of this series and I love these characters. This story is about Quentin - the only son of Bernard and Greta. His life is in a bit of turmoil - with his wife dealing with cancer, his oldest daughter and him not seeing eye to eye, and his career up in the air at the news station. I think the biggest story here is the importance of family - how things become inconsequential when family can help out. There are a lot of twists and turns - I kind of want Scarlett to have her own story after this! I also liked seeing a bit of a crossover - with Scarlett being friends with Alyssa - from the Martha's Vineyard series! Definitely read this book!

Another story of the Copperfield family. This one focuses on Quentin, who has basically had little connection with his family or Nantucket Island for years. His news broadcast career is suffering as his wife, Catherine battled cancer. His oldest daughter Scarlett is in a relationship Quentin is not happy with. Out of the blue, Bernard and Greta the elder Copperfields show up in the city to embrace Quentin and his family.

Coming together as a family to embraces difficulties is a theme for the Copperfield family. Can a return to the island be a healing experience.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion

Family is all about Love

Quinten and Catherine new what true live was all about. They have had a good life together and have raised three wonderful children. He has had the wonderful job he has always wanted for seventeen years and things are not looking so wonderful now. Catherine is fighting cancer, Quinten is fighting for his job, Scarlet, their oldest has left college, had her apartment broken into and the one who did this thing will be hard to catch. Although things seen to be hitting rock bottom, once the whole family comes together again that love will shine through. Read this book, it is a good read for all ages.

The fifth book in this series focuses on the only son of Bernard and Greta Copperfield, Quentin, a famous news anchor in New York City, and his daughter, Scarlet. When Quentin's wife has cancer, his whole world collapses. Scarlet faces turmoil in her relationship with her live-in boyfriend, Owen. The story makes one realize that while a job is important, so is family. Nantucket seems to be a "healing " ground for Quentin and his family. The characters in this series are so wonderful and the plot is great. I love the uniqueness of this series.

This is the 5th. Book in the series about the Copperfield family and I can’t wait until # 6 is released. Katie Winters does an excellent job of developing the stories of each member of the family as she moves through her series. This book explores Quentin, the only son of Greta and Bernard. In previous books we were aware that he distanced himself from the family when his father was put in jail. Bring a high profile news anchor, we understood why. Now we learn about his vulnerabilities.

So Good!!

Omg I loved the intertwining with Alyssa from the Katama Bay series. It took me a while to figure out which series she was from but I did. Now I am wondering if I’ve missed these intertwines before! The ideas you have for you books are always so interesting. I often think wow how does she come up with this stuff!!! Thank you!!

Another Great Read

I am totally in love with the Copperfield Family. This book series is so well written and though I am ecstatic that there are two more books to come, it makes me sad that there are only two more books left in the series. Please do yourself a favor and start this series from the very beginning. You won't be disappointed.

Loved this story of Quentin and his family. His wife’s illness, daughter’s strained relationship and finding his way back to his family were all shown in this heartwarming story. Returning to Nantucket is always good for the soul. Enjoy the family as they adjust and come together

A Family Affair

Each book in this series introduces you to new characters and situations. But they are all related to the wonderful Copperfield family. We get pulled into their drama and familiar with their pain. From New York City to Nantucket we grow to love this family more.

I'm really enjoying this series! The 5th installment features the oldest Copperfield child, and the only son. Faced with a family tragedy, Quentin returns to the fold, integrating the remaining grandchildren into the loving family. Sometimes all you need is to go home! 8 out of 10.
