I’m a coffee lovin’, word slinging, clean Historical Romance author whose super power is converting caffeine into novels. I love those odd tidbits of history that are stranger than fiction. That’s what inspires me. Well, that and a good love story.
This book was such an interesting story of the Cripple Creek Doctor, his pregnant wife and their two adopted children. When he was on his journey back on horseback from visiting his shut in patients, he was shot in the leg and was thrown off his horse. Even though he was rescued and brought to town, neither of them had seen who had shot at him. The doctor from the neighboring town came and operated on him, but he remained in so much pain, and he had to use a crutch to walk. Many things progressed from there to cause great difficulty for them: their house caught on fire at night causing them to lose their home and everything inside but the doctor, his wife and two children. This book was so captivating and had many twists and turns. I highly recommend it!
This poor couple was put through the ringer, and yet when it was all said and done, they still had each other and their family. They praised God and focused on the miracles of life. A beautiful holiday story.
Visited Cripple Creek a few years ago and was able to visualize so much in Katherine and Wyatt's story. The series is a great story of forgiveness and overcoming tragedies and growth.
