Her mother raised her on Mary Higgins Clark, Diane Mott Davidson, and Remington Steele. Her grandmother shared True Crime stories with her as they plotted how to get away with the perfect murder. This Penny is BY FAR my favorite. I enjoyed writing her adventures or misadventures and can't wait to start scribbling down a new one for the paranormal penny nicols.
I know you'll love this book too... Why?
It has humor, danger, friendship, sweet treats, and possibly a wee bit of romance.

Thank you so much to StoryOrign and Sarah Hualde for this eARC copy of Twisted.
I absolutely love the Penny Nicols series, so much so that I read books 1 to 6 again before starting Twisted.
Twisted is book 7 of the series and for me it was the most heartbreakingly emotional one yet. Though I was pleasantly surprised to see Penny making friends - I thoroughly enjoyed that aspect.
The storyline for twisted was excellently played out, Penny chasing up a lead on Pierce but falling rough of the Raven, it just gave a thrilling read. I also love that the deeper storyline of Christie still runs through without taking away from that book's story. The story's mystery was fantastically created and at times I guessed the suspect but then second guessed myself, either way I loved every second of it.
The new characters in this book were great additions and I loved Jade, I felt she was similar to Penny in so many ways and I loved how those two bonded. I did miss T.C. and Scrubbs, their absence was very noticeable but I don't say this as a bad thing because it created a better view of Penny and gave the book a different stance.
Sarah Hualde takes a paranormal cosy mystery and turns it into a thrill seeking adventure, I love getting wrapped up in Penny's misfortune life and can not wait for book 7.5
Allow a day for this PG paranormal mystery set in Riley's Canyon where Penny Nicols is still trying to find a lead in her search for her sister Christie.

I loved this book. I have loved Penny and her friends from book 1 and with each book, I think she becomes better and better. In Twisted Penny meets sister(Jade and Nell) and wants their help in finding out more about her sister, Christie, while avoiding the Raven. Meanwhile, Jade has her own gift that helps her out. Jade is a great addition to this series and I hope she continues to be a part of it. I can't wait to read another Penny story.
I liked this, I wish it hadn't taken me so long to read it. I did think that Penny was a bit unfair to TC for not talking to him and letting him worry.
A very enjoyable cozy paranormal mystery that is just a bit darker and grittier than one would expect. There is an abundance of action, great characters who are easy to relate to, a touch of romance (both good and bad), and plenty of suspense. I learned more about hard rock/metal bands than I knew I ever needed to know, which was a bonus. I only had small criticism. I don't know how Penny ever managed to function because she should have been majorly dehydrated with all the crying she did. I realize she has been through a lot and lost people close to her, but turn off the waterworks every once in a while. I will give her credit for being able to pull herself together in a crisis and do what needs to be done. Now I need to go back and read the other books in the series, at least, the first one so I can figure out how Penny got attached to the Raven in the first place. I will be looking for additional books in this series to be released. I received a review copy from the author via StoryOrigin and this is my honest opinion.
Penny has a gift or is it a curse. She can predict danger especially when she with the Raven in the picture. Penny runs away from, Titan, her love, hoping to save him from death, writing him a dear John breakup letter. So she leaves and is still going after any clue possible to find her sister. This includes finding a tattoo shop that showed up in the background on a picture of the PI, thinking there may be a clue there. The tattoo shop is called Twisted Sister. After she saves Nell, one of the owners of the tattoo shop with her sister, Jade, they insist she come stay with them cat and all. Jade has her own special gift. She can tell when a person is a good person or if they are lying. Penny and Jade start to become fast friends and together they try to figure it all out. This is a fun paranormal that once you begin, you get pulled into the story which is a page turner. I highly recommend this series. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
In Twisted, Penny Nicols follows a new clue about her missing twin - a photo of a tattoo parlour run by two sisters in the town of Riley Canyon. Upon arrival, the Raven immediately begins toying with Penny causing her to step in to save the life of one of the girls. Penny fears that anyone who gets close to her will become a target, but pure friendship is a gift so hard to pass up.
The Paranormal Penny series is incredibly good and this latest book, Twisted, is the best so far. Interwoven with the opposing themes of friendship and loss, the story compels the reader to form an even stronger bond with the main character. It's going to be quite difficult for Sarah Hualde to top this one!
Thank you to BookSirens and Sarah Hualde for the opportunity to read this eARC. As always, my opinions are my own, honest and true.
What a fabulously written and engaging paranormal cozey mystery the heroine of this series is Penny and is an incredible character full of doubt in herself yet she is very intelligent and brave fighting to keep those she meets safe and alive wich isn't always easy, she and the array of characters surrounding her are vibrant, colorful, quirky and one deadly schemer will draw you into their dramatic lives while a calling of intrigue entices you further Who is being targeted ,what is to be the end game and when .There is a plot that carries you throughout teasing you throwing in taughts, clues that will make the hairs on you rise and give goosebumps. In the search for her sister Christie, Penny Nicols is heartbroken as she struggles to not put family and friends in the Raven’s sight. She has to write a break-up letter to the man she cares about, Titus Church, in an attempt to keep him safe from the Raven. And she now becomes friends with Jade and Nell Morris. Can Jade’s “gift” keep them safe? With the Morris sisters’ help, can they defeat the Raven?
There is so much activity in this story line, and the touch of hope with the addition of Jade, keeps the reader on edge to find out if someone else must die. Grab your copy and find out if there is a chance at last to defeat the Raven, or if Penny’s suffering will continue on forever.
This is such an interesting series! Although, I can't say that I'd like to be followed around by a raven who was letting me know that people around me are going to die and I may be able to save them.
I've grown to really like TC and Scrubbs and their absence was noticeable throughout. Jade and her sister, Nell, are great additions to the story. Especially as Jade has her own special "power"!
The hunt for her twin sister, Christie, is still on and Penny will do anything to find her.
This cozy paranormal mystery series is one of my favorites and I can't wait to see what's in store for Penny next.
Disclaimer: I requested a review copy of Twisted via BookSirens. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Twisted Death Picks the Playlist is Book 7 in the Paranormal: Penny Mysteries by Sarah Hualde. I find this series is a little bit different. Penny is followed by a Raven who kills people that Penny loves. Except for her cat, Spades, and her VW, Godzilla, life can be lonely. I believe that the characters are so well written and some characters are in more than one book. Will Penny be able to return Titus' love or accept Jade's friendship? Or, will the black Raven win and continue to kill those close to Penny? So many questions that can only be answered by the author in this excellent book. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
This was a really good book, if a little bit dark. It had enough background that it didn't matter that I hadn't read the previous books, which is good because they sound like they might be darker than I want in a cozy mystery.
The story twists and turns and it's not easy to guess at what's going to happen, so it's got some nice surprises. I don't want to spoil too much but it ends on a high note, as Penny makes new friends and reconnects with old ones.
This is a really good story, especially if you want something a little bit darker, and it's also a good introduction to the series if you want to skip the darker backstory of the previous books, and I can certainly recommend it.
Since a child, Penny has been gifted or cursed with the ability to predict danger when a raven appears to her. She has been trying to find her sister who has disappeared after a raven appeared to her. She finds a picture of her sister in front of Twisted Sister tattoo shop, when she gets there, she winds up saving a young lady from being hit by a car. She and her sister, Nell and Jade, invite Penny in to their home and treat her like family. As the story evolves, Penny has to save Nell, many times!! There seems to be something wrong with this and Penny has to find out what's happening. A great mystery.
I was impressed that this time the author didn’t kill a bunch of people and make it sad. Therefore, I would have given it 5 stars just for that with the exception of having the characters do really stupid stuff down towards the end. For example, people leaving when it’s not the best time to be separating. Reminds me of the silly commercial of the college kids hiding in the garage with hanging chainsaws and knives from a killer. By the way, that’s not suspense, it’s irritation. Nonetheless, it was a decent book with likable characters.

Penny Nicols is heartbroken. She’s also desperate. Her “gift” has claimed more of her family and friends than she cares to admit. Though it hurts, running may be the only way she can keep them safe from the omen of death, aka the Raven.
Can she outsmart the bird?
With the Raven is it even possible?"
This is an okay book that makes you want to win.
I think it was actually pretty good. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a nice little paranormal mystery with a dash of romance thrown in. I haven't read any of the earlier books in this series but it didn't keep me from enjoying this one. It's full of action, some suspense and some new friendships that will probably carry over to the next book. There's still lots to be solved by the end of this book. I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway for this honest review.
Pull up a chair and get comfortable, for a good cozy paranormal mystery and some interesting characters. Penny doesn't want to stay anywhere too long and make friends, because the Raven (death) seems to follow her and mark those around her. Can she keep death away from them? I liked the suspense, the easy to like characters and the interesting use of music. I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, and giving my thoughts and opinions on it.
Penny continues the search for her sister and hiding from Titus to save him ftom the Raven, or so she thinks. In her search she finds people who become very good friends, even family. But the Raven has other thoughts. I liked Titus's tenacity and integrity. True friends circle the wagons to rally around friends and prevent real harm/death. See who is left standing at the end. I voluntarily read a free copy of this book provided by book sirens and am giving an honest opinion.
Penny has grown over the course of the series and has done most of it all by herself but now she gets a bff Jade, another gifted person as Penny is. It's really great to see how this series has expanded but still keeping to the cozy mystery roots. I love the characters old and new especially the snarky ones lol! I can't wait to see how this series continues to grow, well done Sarah!!

I received an advance copy of this book free and my review is voluntary and in my own words. Amazing original read that had me gripped in the first few chapters. The anxiety of the main character Penny as shares her fears only for her new found friends to suffer , can she stop the Raven before he stops them for good ? Loads of twists and red herrings ….
Loved the action packed start of this story and the roller coaster accidents and almost accidents that Penny “saved”. Great introduction of new friends who may or may not have different special gift. Could not put book down until I finished. Terrific read
Red Robin.

was told this was FREE on Bookbub. so, i grabbed it ...yet to read any of the others in this series so far. will hopefully do that one day soon??! so much to read. so much life ...hard to work it all in there. funny how the book covers are so different. quirky. fun. i don't usually read paranormal ...it is one i pick up once in a while.
Twisted by Sarah Hualde is book #7 in the Paranormal Penny Mysteries series. Go Penny! I really enjoyed this cozy mystery. The characters are very likable. Penny and her friends feel very real to me. There's lots of action and suspense in this book. I am looking forward to Penny's next adventure.
Penny cuts ties with old friends, and forms connections with new ones. Jade and her sister aren't afraid of Penny. Even with Jade knowing the truth about Penny's "gift", she still welcomes her into their little group. I liked how this created a change in the flow so far, giving Penny a safe place to be herself and still be loved.
This is the longest book in this series, and I read this at a slower pace because I loved it so much I didn’t want it to end. Penny’s new friends are funny, spunky, and add new elements to the game. Seeing Penny embrace people in a deeper way was beautiful to watch unfold.
This is an enjoyable and fast read. This has been a great series so far and this book continues in that vein. I am looking forward to reading more books!.
