This might be my favorite out of these three. Don't know why but I really liked it (maybe it was the setting...? or there were more men?). Whatever. Didn't read this for the plot but the religiousness and Tuck thing made me slightly uncomfortable but I just read over it. I hope there's more to this series.

** slight spoilers in the review below **

This author is quickly becoming my absolute favorite in the "why choose" subgenre of romance novels. They are some of the spiciest, filthiest, set yourself on fire books I've read. And yeah, I've read a lot. This series is all prime. Every. Single. One. And this particular story had everything I love and more.

I have to admit, lies and deception in a plotline aren't my favorite. They give my anxiety. The way the characters handled it in this context however? It's everything. They don't get angry and shove anyone away just for the sake of conflict, which really pisses me off, and the conclusion was everything I need for this trope. So. Well. Done.

And let's not even mention my love of turning men of the cloth away from their religions. We'll just say Friar Tuck is my favorite thing and leave it at that.

If you like reverse harem, if you enjoy retellings of stories we all know, if you love a little plot with your detailed and excessive smut-- look no further.

I'll be keeping my eye on this author and series. Slobbering away for more.

This was GREAT! Probably my favourite RH Robin Hood retelling yet, and y'all know I LOVE a retelling and a RH. Marian was a great FMC and the cast of men with her was interesting and engaging.

10% plot 90% vibes, no hole left unfilled. Practice your poker face before reading in public.

Marian has fallen on hard times and strikes a deal with the prince to help capture Robin and his men. Naturally, her plans go awry when she finds herself enamored of not just Robin but his inner circle of merry men as well.

I enjoyed the twist on the classic characters! Robin sort of gave me Peter Pan vibes at points. A few cringe lines tempted me to roll my eyes. Marian's was my least fav POV, but we have 5 running through the book, so she's doled out in small enough doses. Was she vapid or just sex addled? I'm not sure. She's been through a lot...

Anyway, if you're ready for a poly/why choose romp through Sherwood forest, this should do the trick.

First Book won in this series

The other two - especially this one - had way toooo many sex scenes😭😭😭

I begged for it to stop💀💀(Robin hood literally fu*ked every person in his eye sight)

- I cringed to often for my own good but i also enjoyed those people😔

- Will and David were my favorites

Honestly who needs a plot when all these men are so lovely, even the ones that aren’t meant to be. A deliciously easy read.

This was a fun and spicy retelling of Robin Hood.

I loved the men, although will admit the fantasy element added to Robin Hood was surprising and wasn’t completely love for me. Not that it was bad but seemed…maybe a bit silly.

I liked that Marian was strong and unashamed of her wants/desires once she realized she was in safe company. Adored that Will and David immediately took to her and the unspoken connection she and Hood had once he decided he did want to keep her. Her being the one to bring Tuck into the fold was perfect. I also really liked that she was trained to fight and could hold her own. The first showdown with Hood was awesome.

Spicier than I was expecting. Really it was more smut with some plot. But highly enjoyable regardless.

“And though I know there will one day be an end to it all, I’m not afraid of endings-not anymore. Not when my story is going to have such a beautiful middle.”

A spicy, why-choose, Robin Hood retelling, Robins Maid, features magic, a woman on a mission, a band of brothers and healing cum. Yup, you heard me.

It was another enjoyable "racy retelling" and huge props to the author for not only providing endless amounts of erotic scenes but also making them evidently consensual, full of love and trust. (Wasn't a huge fan of the "everyone gets a turn" scene but can appreciate it was done well). Also, loved the "spy" plotline Marian went down but wished she was less placid as a character.

Would have liked to have gotten more context from the character of Robin Hood but again, another fun, completely unserious and smutty read. (I say unserious and immediately think of Robin dragging Marian's house into the middle of the forest.. )

Jessamine Rue delivers yet another captivating, steamy, and gorgeously written tale with ‘Robin’s Maid’. This is a deliciously smutty retelling of ‘Robin Hood’, seamlessly blending romance, intrigue, and adventure. With a strong-willed heroine, dangerously irresistible outlaws, and a setting that pulls you right into the heart of Sherwood Forest, this book is everything you could want in a spicy fantasy romance.

Plot: ★★★★★
The story is the perfect mix of passion and plot, ensuring that every moment feels purposeful. There’s a wonderful blend of mystery, tension, and high-stakes action that keeps you turning pages. The romance isn’t just steamy - it’s woven into the heart of the narrative, making the relationships feel meaningful and immersive.

Character: ★★★★☆
Marian is a fantastic protagonist - strong, sensual, and unafraid to take what she wants while still deeply caring for those around her. She balances her duty, desires, and survival instinct in a way that makes her a compelling lead. Robin and his Merry Men are just as swoon-worthy as you’d expect - dangerous yet protective, each with their own unique charms. Their relationships with Marian - and each other - add depth to the story, making every interaction feel electric.

Setting: ★★★★★
Sherwood Forest and Nottingham are brought to life with stunning detail. The hideout of the Merry Men feels atmospheric and lived-in, while the looming dangers of the outside world keep the stakes high. The contrast between the freedom of the forest and the oppression of the city adds an extra layer of depth to the story’s worldbuilding.

Engagement: ★★★★★
From start to finish, this book is impossible to put down. The pacing is perfect, balancing action, romance, and intrigue without a single dull moment. The chemistry is sizzling, the tension is sharp, and every chapter leaves you craving more.

Readability: ★★★★★
Jessamine Rue’s writing flows effortlessly, making ‘Robin’s Maid’ a smooth and highly enjoyable read. The narrative never drags, and the intimate scenes are written with skill, blending heat with genuine emotion.

Enjoyment: ★★★★★
This book is a must-read for fans of smutty fantasy romance with a dark and sensual twist. It’s thrilling, sexy, and utterly engrossing. I’ve reread it multiple times, and it never loses its magic!

‘Robin’s Maid’ is a captivating, seductive, and exhilarating take on the ‘Robin Hood’ legend. Jessamine Rue delivers an unforgettable story filled with adventure, passion, and danger. If you love retellings with a generous dose of spice, this one is absolutely worth adding to your collection!

I just finished Robin’s Maid by Jessmine Rue. This is a spicy, why choose, Robin Hood retelling. We follow Marian as she infiltrates Robin Hood’s band of merry men after she is left a widow. We find all of our favorite characters, Will Scarlet, Friar Tuck, David of Doncaster, Little John ( it’s a fun twist), and of course the Hood himself. If you are familiar with the tales of Robin Hood, you’ll enjoy the fun little additions to this book. What plot there is does follow the traditional Robin Hood story, but it’s pretty light in the way of storyline. This book is almost purely spice. Not that it’s a bad thing, if that’s what you are looking for. Just be aware that if you are expecting a fantasy retelling with a little spice thrown in, this is not that. I felt like a lot of plot was sacrificed for the addition of more spice. That being said, the spice was definitely 🥵. It is a mmmmf why choose so go in expecting sword play both literal and figurative. There were some cringy parts regarding some healing effects and the hea but they are pretty easy to move past. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

If you're seeking a steamy read that's more focused on spicy encounters than intricate plotlines, "Robin's Maid" might just be your cup of tea. This book delivers on its promise of sensuality and eroticism, catering to fans of polyamorous relationships with generous smut scenes .

While the plot may be more steamy scenes than plot, there's still an engaging story to be found here. However, readers looking for deep character development or intricate plot twists may find themselves wanting more. The pacing could have been improved, as the story unfolds rather rapidly, leaving some longing for a slower, more gradual development.

Despite these minor criticisms, "Robin's Maid" manages to captivate with its tantalizing scenarios and unapologetic exploration of desire. Those who revel in smut and polyamorous relationships are likely to find this book a satisfying. Just be prepared for a wild ride that's over all too soon.

I can’t tell Robin the truth now, not after all this. I can’t confess that I told the Sheriff his secret. What if I lose all of them—these four beautiful men who, against all logic, seem to want me?

A lot of TV/movie logic is used in this book. Miscommunication abounds. And dare I say gratuitous sex. Like you get bored of the group fucking. Something that really peeved me was that Marian get's raped twice, but the moments serve as plot filler. I also wasn't a fan of let-all-of-Sherwood's-men gangbang Marian as her way of being initiated into the gang.

They all need an STD panel. But of course Robin's magical cum takes care of everything. Like you understand it is Robin hood with the merrymen fucking, but the story goes so off the rails.

Spicy but great retelling

Ok, so this is my favourite book so far of the series. They are spicy, on the filthy side (not a bad bad thing) and well if you like a why choose MMMF, dont skip this series.

Favourite why? Who didn't like Robin Hood?! (And I honestly couldn't not picture Errol Flynn as this Robin too!) This retelling puts the original on it's head but in a good way. It still has all the main characters from the original just not as you remember them.

There is a eyebrow raising moments so check your triggers and be comfortable but otherwise enjoy this little nugget. I don't want to drop any spoilers but I will leave you with the character development is great

Man what can I say

Everyone in this book was so sweet despite their provisions or how dark they were lol tuck was the sweetest boy lol, and David with his need for pain loved how they all cared for each other through and through Marian was
The spice was spicy and wish there was more group times and I definitely wanted to see the scene in the barn with charming will and David and tuck that would have been great to see

I LOVE THESE STORIES SO MUCH!!!!

My third retelling story by this author and I gobbled it up just as quick. I need more. There’s something about the way she writes her MM interactions that I LOVE!!! I don’t think any author I’ve read has captured such affection and love between the males in a polyamorous/reverse harem type relationship. Jessamine Rue has a totally different vibe to hers that I absolutely adore. I’m a fan. Can’t wait to read more!

Hotchi Matchi!

This was crazy spicy and I am here for it. Really impressed with the way Rue manages to incorporate SO MANY erotic situations and still somehow keep it both consensual and respectful (a must for me). There’s even a fun little story amongst the smut. And the writing is *chef’s kiss*.

I mean, woah. I was turned on the whole dang time! Also, the plot was very good considering the sheer volume of smut. This was my first Robin Hood retelling, and my first book from this author and I wasn’t disappointed. I do wish we’d seen more of Marian’s badass side - my only complaint. Looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Also, Will Scarlet? Meow! 🥵

I didn’t like the open relationship. It felt a little too much like cheating to me. That knocked it down about 1 1/2 stars. Other than that it was fine. Terribly inventive? No, but it’s exactly as advertised. A raunchy Robin Hood retelling. Not my particular cup of tea, but if it’s yours, I say go for it.

All three books Jessamine wrote so far in her retelling series have been sooooooo 🌶🌶🌶spicy I loved it! They were fast reads and fun journeys! I never thought of a Robin Hood retelling and it was more than I expected. I dont think I could ever hear about the Merry Men the same. I hope you will make more retellings so I can look at more stories differently! 🥰

I’m convinced everything she writes is amazing. I love the way the this story is told and how everything fell into place in the plot. The significant amount of smut in this book was a bonus. I’ve gotta say the characters were written really well and similar to how they are imagined in the lores of Robin Hood. Characters had depth and the plot actually made sense. I really loved this book.

Very good

The MM is hot but less detailed than with the F. A whole MMM scene happens off the page! Shame on you, Madam. Shame on you. I wanted that scene. I'm taking a whole star for that deprivation.

One of the spiciest books of the year for me! In order to save her manor staff and her property she agrees to go into Robin Hood’s camp and spy for Prince John. Trying to fool everyone she’s a man but it turns out these men don’t care and want them anyway.
