Chosen By Lucifer continues with the second book, Ruthless Demon. This book was fire! I swear the series got steamier but it was Hell that grabbed my attention and didn't let go. It was great.
Sophia is adapting to Hell better than most. Her analytical brain is working and she's puzzling out some things. She's dealing with a lot of the nastiness and taking everything in stride. I love the fact that she was playing the game right back with the demons, being just a lowly human and all. Sophia's fierce side comes out in this one and she's gonna need it in that and I quote, "pit of vipers."Sophia's
With that being said, Sophia's and Lucifer's relationship is going strong. Yeah, some things were said, trying to turn her against him but they didn't let others ruin what they have. Lucifer is willing to do anything to keep her safe and has proven it over and over in this book. I also come to realize how much he's changed. It has been pointed out that how he is with Sophia is vastly different from how he is with everyone else. The differences are shocking and I can only come to the conclusion that he has stronger feelings than he is willing to admit. Lucifer and Sophia click on a deeper level. They're kinda perfect for each other almost like it was fate.
I usually read Callie's reverse harems, this is the first mf series I've read by her, and the sex in this book blow my mind. Seriously it was more of it and possibly hotter than the rh however the plot was utterly fantastic. Hell is a court full of vices, there's gluttony, lust, sloth, and more, and the violence and manipulations are unreal.
Lucifer's family is a hot mess. His father, Cephalus, the king of Hell, is determined to fight in a never-ending war against Heaven. As for his mother Aurora, she's not like Naamah described. That woman is a savant at manipulation, an evil genius that wears a friendly face. Lucifer's siblings are very annoying. Abbadon is a brat who seeks attention while Diana is a mean girl but multiply it by a thousand. No wonder Lucifer wants to stay on Earth. Although Hell is an interesting place, not the court but it does have beauty however between the assassination attempts, curses, and creatures, it's quite deadly.
Ruthless Demon was a helluva ride. While I guessed at one plot twist in the beginning, the second one took me totally by surprise. I'm talking eyes-wide, jaw-dropping, yelling at my kindle shocked. There was so much action and drama around the reveals, I was giddy. Demons are such drama queens. Although I will admit I was utterly heartbroken by the cliffhanger, Callie always had a way of messing with my emotions. I can't wait to see how it all ends in Fallen Mate.
