I fell in love with the devil. Now I’m a prisoner of Hell.

“Fragile things can be broken.” That’s what Cephalus told me after I woke up in a cell in the underworld. His captive. His bargaining chip.

He plans to use me to force Lucifer back into service in the endless war with Heaven, blackmailing him into returning to Hell. And the worst part is, his plan might work.

Because if there’s one thing I know about Lucas Hale—aka Lucifer himself—it’s that there’s nothing he wouldn’t do to protect me.

But as dangers mount on all sides and a new enemy lurks in the shadows… can I protect him?

Ruthless Demon is a steamy paranormal romance where the villain gets the girl. It's the second book in the Chosen by Lucifer trilogy.

POV Sofia and Lucifer
Steamy spicy lava hot smut
Fast burn romance but not really insta love...more circumstances and high pressure events creating a fast hot growing bond

From one cliffhanger into a hell of a story!
The war, we get to witness a battle, and it was well written, I was drawn into then event.
The world building extends into this new realm, and we meet the family, and what a family!!!! 😳
We watch Sofia and Lucifers' relationship burn hot and stand up to the attempts to break them. Sofia super human power of adapting quickly helps her navigate this new world....but in the end, something has to give...again.

The twist I didn't see coming is in a nest of vipers is the yet to be explained, and I'm guessing will be explained in book 3. Betrayal, even though I felt hurt, my heart hit them in an unexpected twist. Leading to a discovery (this one I did see coming) and ending in a heart emptying cliffhanger....

Wtf Lucifer! Wtf!!!

This end breaks my heart as much as it pisses me off. It’s one trope I’ve not read in a while and one I could have gone long without especially given some of the revelations at the end. I knew Sophia was more than she seemed and turns out I was right, though I surely didn’t see things playing out like they did. The setting was a lot more exciting this time around as they are in hell. Lucifer is trying his damndest to keep Sophia safe even when every single being there is a threat to her. I did appreciate Sophia trying to one up these conniving demons. She didn’t let them too easily manipulate her, very much unlike the big bad Lucifer in the end. I’m so disappointed in him and hopefully the last book will lose some of the Twilight vibes ie. minus moping, emotional breakdowns and attempted suicide.

This book was full of surprises! Like what?? She’s a freaking angel? And Uriel is still alive! I hate that Lucifer’s dad is doing everything he can to keep Lucifer there with him. I feel like Uriel could possibly help them out in the end but I’m not sure. I’m glad they were able to escape hell but I don’t doubt they’ll be hunted down.

Chosen By Lucifer continues with the second book, Ruthless Demon. This book was fire! I swear the series got steamier but it was Hell that grabbed my attention and didn't let go. It was great.

Sophia is adapting to Hell better than most. Her analytical brain is working and she's puzzling out some things. She's dealing with a lot of the nastiness and taking everything in stride. I love the fact that she was playing the game right back with the demons, being just a lowly human and all. Sophia's fierce side comes out in this one and she's gonna need it in that and I quote, "pit of vipers."Sophia's

With that being said, Sophia's and Lucifer's relationship is going strong. Yeah, some things were said, trying to turn her against him but they didn't let others ruin what they have. Lucifer is willing to do anything to keep her safe and has proven it over and over in this book. I also come to realize how much he's changed. It has been pointed out that how he is with Sophia is vastly different from how he is with everyone else. The differences are shocking and I can only come to the conclusion that he has stronger feelings than he is willing to admit. Lucifer and Sophia click on a deeper level. They're kinda perfect for each other almost like it was fate.

I usually read Callie's reverse harems, this is the first mf series I've read by her, and the sex in this book blow my mind. Seriously it was more of it and possibly hotter than the rh however the plot was utterly fantastic. Hell is a court full of vices, there's gluttony, lust, sloth, and more, and the violence and manipulations are unreal.

Lucifer's family is a hot mess. His father, Cephalus, the king of Hell, is determined to fight in a never-ending war against Heaven. As for his mother Aurora, she's not like Naamah described. That woman is a savant at manipulation, an evil genius that wears a friendly face. Lucifer's siblings are very annoying. Abbadon is a brat who seeks attention while Diana is a mean girl but multiply it by a thousand. No wonder Lucifer wants to stay on Earth. Although Hell is an interesting place, not the court but it does have beauty however between the assassination attempts, curses, and creatures, it's quite deadly.

Ruthless Demon was a helluva ride. While I guessed at one plot twist in the beginning, the second one took me totally by surprise. I'm talking eyes-wide, jaw-dropping, yelling at my kindle shocked. There was so much action and drama around the reveals, I was giddy. Demons are such drama queens. Although I will admit I was utterly heartbroken by the cliffhanger, Callie always had a way of messing with my emotions. I can't wait to see how it all ends in Fallen Mate.

Book: Ruthless Demon
Read By: Ebook and Audio
Author: Callie Rose
Genre:Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, Smut
Main Characters: Lucifer and Sophia
Recommend: Yes

Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years
My feelings:

I didn't enjoy this as much as I did the first.

“Sophia.” My name sounds like a prayer on his lips and my heart flutters. “Did you mean what you said? About how you feel? You love me?”

Book 2 follows Sophia down to hell with Lucifers dad. Lucifer follows and makes ideal with his dad that if he doesn’t harm Sophia he will stay and fight in the war again.

“You’ve always been such a good girl,” I rasp, massaging her ass roughly, watching the skin turn pink from the pressure of my fingers. “You take me so well, but I wonder if you have your limits. Do you have limits, Sophia?” “Not for you,” she replies immediately, her words breathless. “Such a good answer,” I praise, stroking her ass. “The words of a true little whore. Are you a whore, Sophia?”

Sophia life is in danger the whole time, people keep trying to kill her, Lucifers sister and mother both try to manipulator her, and Lucifer fights in the war.
There is a fight where Lucifer's dead brother tries to kill Sophia, and Sophia finds herself covers in angel armour, which means she is an angel, and Lucifer and her should be mortal enemies.

“Angel or not, she’s mine. “

What I didn't like was the fact that Lucifer didn't really try to leave hell after he went to save her. He also spent the whole time trying to save her, but not really protecting her to start with. And she dosnt even freak out when she finds out her dad was clearly an angel? There was a lot of inconsistencies in this book.

“I may be on my knees for Lucifer, but no one can bring the devil to his knees but me.”

Hopefully it picks back up in book 3.

4-4.5*
I must say that the best thing about this book is the world building. Honestly, I was completely enthralled by the descriptions and the images that the author painted. I loved every second of the imaginary hell in this story.
The main characters continue to be amazing as in the first book. A strong and intelligent heroine is everything I love and a possessive yet affectionate hero is always to die for. I only wish that the plot developed a little bit more during the book. It felt kind of stagnant in a few parts, but I managed to read it quite fast because of the incredible writing.
This time around the plot twist didn’t surprise me as much, because I was kind of expecting something like it, since it’s usual for this kind of book trope. And the cliffhanger got me wanting to rip my hair off, but in a good way.
Yes, I will be starting the third book right now, because I’m this kind of uncontrolled. It is a really great series and I will definitely recommend to anyone who loves romance fantasy.

Too much sex. Too much cringe-inducing sex. I never thought I'd say that, but yeah, the story couldn't even go a couple of pages without them doing it. I gave this two stars because the story itself, as a concept, is good, but it was just broken up by too many unnecessary sessions of intercourse. Again, I can't believe I'm saying that because I like my smut, but no, not this much unnecessary smut. If I was strictly reading this as an ebook, I think it would have been a teensy bit better, but since I'm doing a combo of reading and listening to the audiobook, the male voice actor is just not doing it for me. At least not with this material. If he was strictly doing just the male voice, I might be okay with it, but as he's also doing her voice during his chapters, it just isn't working for me. And when he says the phrase "good girl," it just icks me out.

Three should be kne

Short , after flipping through a chapter, in some cases several chapters of sex we got little action then back to sex . It reminds me of movies now a days that rely on sex ,drugs, rock n roll , nasty language and destruction to carry the movie along .Put all three books into one and you might have a ok book .As is ? No, had I known wasn't finished never would have picked it up .
Was predictable as well . Invest in some original ideas please .
So not to worried about the sexual life ,I mean love life of these two and not really excited to read last book ...oh the longing for an epic book .....😑

Another great read by Callie Rose

One more left in the series and I'm excited to get caught up further in Sophia and Lucifer's story and to find out more about Sofia's parentage. I absolutely love the bond they share and her confidence in herself to know her own mind.. She observes, gathers as much information as possible before deciding her actions or her reactions.
As much as I am excited I'm also saddened to come to the end and say goodbye to these characters.. This series would make a really great movie if it followed the books..

So, book one, we saw Sophia and Lucas falling in love on earth, now we're seeing how they are interacting in Hell.

This leads to a much different dynamic, and Sophia learns a lot about herself. It's hard to give details about what happens there without spoilers, but as you might expect, no one there is quite what they seem!

I always enjoy the trope of humans discovering the supernatural, and this is happening to Sophia big time!

Looking forward to the next book in the series.

An angel?! Which means her sister is also an angel? What a fucking mind fuck. And then Lucifer leaves? And doesn’t say anything? That fucking heart break and don’t even get me started on the brother? He could have done anything else but he doesn’t, he deliberately tries to kill Sophia in hopes it will save Lucifer. But doesn’t he realize that killing her would only kill him too? They’re all stupid. On to book 3

Wow Enjoyed

I really can't stop reading their story. This series brought me out of my reading slump. I was hesitant to read it but now I can't stop. The revelation at the end I had a feeling but the other with M was a shock. Can't wait to see what happens to them. I love the passion and steam that comes from them. Love it

War comes for them

Can her love survive? Will she? She doesn’t understand the parameters of hell. She tries to read the nuances. She loves this man, this demon but he doesn’t say it back. Can he love?

This is heartbreaking. An angel, Sophia, and a Demon, Lucy's fall in love, but it is implied he can't cope with her being one of the race deemed his mortal enemy. He leaves her alone to her heartbreak.
