'Dragon Fury' is the epic third book to Delta James' fantastic "Reign of Fire Series". I can't emphasize to anyone enough how thrilling and relatable this third book is. Raine is the epitome of what I always thought the reaction would be when a heroine found herself being told she was a dominant alpha's, fated mate. Talk about a red-headed temper! She's strong-minded with a will to match, yet she has a tender heart that takes a hit she didn't see coming from her best friends. Cooper is that dominant alpha. He's also a bit of a Neanderthal when it comes to other people, especially his fated mate. Sparks fly, both verbally, sexually, and physically which only made they're coming together more intense. Oh, and the shocker regarding the dragon queens and what Draco had done for them was a total surprise. I didn't see that coming. Well done, Ms. James. Well done

HONOR, LOYALTY, FIDELITY, AND LOVE

The story is the third and final in the Reign of Fire trilogy. I think that it is, by far, my favorite of the three, maybe because I really like Raine and how she handled herself. Cooper and Raine have a huge difference of opinion and just clash from the beginning. The way he ‘tries’ to handle her only makes her angrier. Cooper McKinley has no finesse when talking to Raine, and it only irritates her.

Raine has felt lost since Aria and Eden fell in love. She travels to Alaska to consult with the town of Glacier about bringing Wildworks there to offer upscale guide services. Talking on the phone with Theo was promising but meeting the pilot in Fairbanks and being taken to the town, she isn’t so sure. Then to have Cooper dictate to her, telling Theo to take her phone and computer, makes her extremely upset. Enough that she plans to hike to another town.

The story has plenty of mystery, suspense, secrets, and surprises. Aria’s grandmother used to tell these stories about the Cherufe, but now she is hearing voices. But once she joins with Zafira and becomes a drakaina, she learns that Cooper believes her to be his eternal flame and fated mate. Not that she is willing to accept it.

“We will be one. Your destiny awaits you in the frozen north. Denali and the Ice Dragons need you to defeat the Cherufe.”

Cooper: You are my fated mate.
Raine: Which seems to mean everything to you. The answer to all questions. And yet, it means nothing to me. Nothing.
Cooper: Shift now and return to Glacier at my side, or I will take you there by force.
Raine: Such a charming invitation, and yet I feel compelled to refuse. Here’s the deal McKinley—if I am your fated mate, you won’t do anything to really harm me. But I despise you and refuse to be shackled to you in any way, shape, or form, which means I will do whatever is necessary to claw my way to freedom.
Cooper: Then you are settled in your mind.
Raine: Yes. I will not be carted off by some neanderthal dragon lord who thinks he can impose his will on me.
Cooper: That is where you are wrong. I am Alpha to the Ice Dragons and you’re my queen. You will submit to my will and my authority or else pay the consequences.
Raine: You lay a hand on me, and you’d better never close your eyes again.
Cooper: Then we are agreed. I will make you rue the day you threw your gauntlet at my feet.

The story is a page-turner and full of angst between Cooper and Raine. She doesn’t capitulate to his demands—or wishes and shows she can hold her own. Her hurt with her friends will be mended and they will help her. The future is in her hands, Zafira has shared insight into the past and what must happen in the future. Getting Cooper to trust her, her training, and her skills, and allowing her to be part of eliminating the Cherufe is critical.

“The man can kiss. But he doesn’t just get to walk into my life and say, ‘me dragon; you drakaina; you mine,’ and expect me to be okay with that.”

I am going to be honest here. Raine was a difficult pill to swallow. I am used to the female main characters in Delta James' books being strong, intelligent, and independent. I am used them not easily giving in the the H's dominance. I am used to them using that strength and intelligence to get out of various situations.

What I am not used to is Raine's behavior. She was acting almost completely from a place of emotion, or I should say she was reacting. I am not saying Cooper was in the right here at all. He could have handled the situation better. I don't know that he deserved the physical assault she visited on him.

What bothered me is she gave no thought to her behavior, was not acting based on trying to find out any information that might be helpful, did not pause long enough to use her intelligence or try to be calculating in getting herself out of the situation. She was just a sheer ball of anger lashing out at anyone in her way.

Her being a red head was no excuse for her behavior. Not what she did to the Ice Dragon village or what she did to where Phantom Fire lived. Raine was just obnoxious.

It was hard to overcome my dislike of her until after she and Falkor were together. I still didn't like her, but I was able to lessen my dislike of her. Her behavior took away from the possible relationship with Cooper and diminished any romantic vibe. I don't feel like they were together enough to even try to establish a relationship.

The best part of the book was the training and the battle. I am looking forward to finding out more about Falkor. I would give this one 3.5 stars.

Attitude and Stubbornness vs Arrogance and Pigheadedness
Raine is feisty and spunky. She is full of attitude, is stubborn and very quick to anger. So it would seem that things will not go well for her fated mate. Cooper may very well promise honor, loyalty, fidelity (author's words) and love to his fated mate, but he first needs to get past his own arrogance and pigheadedness when it comes to Raine because that could very well be his downfall. This is such a great story and very fitting for the last in this 3 book series. Raine, who one with Zafira, the Warrior Queen of Dragons and Cooper who is one with Zafira's fated mate Tulok, will need to come to a mutual understanding before they can even attempt to destroy the Cherufe. The cat and mouse game between Raine and Cooper is quite enjoyable to read. But, eventually, it will be time to put the past behind them, come to an agreement in the present in order to fight the dragon battle of all times in the future. A very enjoyable read all round.
PS - I am very glad to read that Falkor, leader of the Phantom Fire will get a book in the future. I really enjoyed his character in this book.

Feisty is the understatement of the year when it comes to Raine. Being a red head is no excuse. She is beyond obnoxious and down right irritating. For as much Cooper acted like a caveman, Raine was far more brutal than he ever was.

Third book in this series, characters and plot continue with a new fated mate and the Cherufe battle comes to head

Three best friends from the age of young girls had been told amazing story by the grandmother of one all about Dragons and Their battle against the Cherufe centuries before, the devastation of the three warrior dragon queens and their mates that even still waited for their souls to pass to the stars so that they can be mated again in their next life.

Raine had known all about the three queens Cessine, Sarley and Zafira who had sent the Cherufe to the center of the earth and they had realised that they had failed to irradicate their nemesis and knew that in the future the Cherufe would rise again and if left unchecked would possibly takeover humans and shifters alike.

The souls of the Drakania would have to join with a human they believed strong enough and with the dragon Shifter that saw her as his mate, she then had to call on the female souls of the dragons and invite them to become one ant this was what had happened with the two humans and their Alpha dragon shifter mates.

Raine had travelled to see about a possible holidaying location where she had met the Alpha of the Ice Dragons Cooper who had simply rubbed her the wrong way and almost immediately, she decided she was heaving, unfortunately he had other ideas and decided she was staying because he recognised her as his Fated Mate.

Raine was having none of it and even when she realised that she had allowed the Queen of the Drakania, Zafira to join with her human soul and now they were Drakania and were about to embark on the battle of their life, shoul they fail they would be lost to the Cherufe.

I guarantee that once you begin reading this book you will not be able to pout it down until you know the outcome.

j assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

This was a paranormal dragon shifter romance. She

This was my favorite book in the series, absolutely loved it. Raine was a kicka** heroine who I completely identified with. Highly recommend!

Raine Brooks runs an upscale outdoor guide service with one of her best friends. She has been hearing a voice in her sleep about her destiny. She traveled to Glacier, Alaska to try to setup a base for the company.

Cooper McKinley is the alpha of the Ice Dragons of Denali. He is a former Navy SEAL. He almost died several years ago in a small plane crash, his soul left him and the soul of Dragon Queen Zafira's mate Tulek inhabited him.

When Cooper meets her in Fairbanks to fly her to Glacier he realized she is his mate. He acts obnoxious, arrogant and intractable towards her. He decides to keep her captive and without any way to communicate with her friends. She storms out of his office, nails his Beta Theo in the jewels and hikes out of town towards the town of Healey.

He goes after her and has to rescue her in Dragon form from two bears. She is cornered by the bears and agrees to merge with Zafira after which she becomes a draikana. He brings her back to town. Next day she torched his home and part of the town to escape. She goes into the wilderness, argues with her best friends about her feelings of betrayal and he takes her to the dragon caves where he seduces her. Her besties rescue her from him. She ends up with the Phantom Fire dragons to train for the fight with the Cherufe. They battle, declare their love and have their HEA.

This is another splendid addition to the “Reign of Fire” series & it is definitely worth reading but sadly it is the third & final book in this series. The plot has good world building & is filled with some jaw-dropping, suspenseful situations and/or events that really keep the reader’s attention. The characters are well-defined individuals with some interesting back-stories & continue to develop throughout the storyline. The secondary characters offer excellent physical & emotional support.
There is: a very feisty & extremely independent red-headed human female (Raine aka Zafira), her friends (Aria aka Cessene & Eden aka Sarlay), a arrogant alpha male ice dragon shifter with a attitude problem (Cooper aka Tulok), humans, an ancient enemy (the Cherufe), fated mates, action, adventure, twists & turns, suspense, drama, intrigue, friendship, comradery, confrontations, violence, threats, danger, conflict, defiance, confusion, protectiveness, emotional turmoil, some deceit & betrayal, steamy scenes, happiness & a hard-earned, satisfying conclusion for this couple. I look forward to more from this talented author & would definitely recommend this book & the series.

In this third story of the Reign of Fire series, Raine Brooks had taken over Wildworks Wildness Guide service after her friend bowed out after marrying. She was looking at remote areas in Alaska to host upscale "Glamping" experiences. She was supposed to be met at Fairbanks airport by Theo from area known as Glacier...but met the rude, obnoxious pilot Boone McKinley, who was also the alpha of the Ice Dragons who lived in remote Denali area known as Glacier...and they are like oil and water, bickering constantly, with her determined to find another area for her business...but on seeing Raine, knows he has met his fated mate...the woman meant to bond with Warrior Queen Zafira to defeat the Cherufe who were rising again after centuries of being sealed beneath the ground...but can he get her to stay, let alone be willing to be a dragon-shifter...you will need to read this intense, steamy story to see what happens...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

OMG! This was unbelievable I could not put the book down, the storyline was mesmerising and the characters were sensational. Raine has gone to Alaska to see if it's a good place to expand their business. Cooper McKinley is Alpha of the Ice Dragons he is adamant she is his mate. Cooper shows his dominants which gets Raine's back up, she doesn't like being told what to do. Raine is very angry her two best friends didn't say anything to her that they are dragons, Zafira needs to claim Raine's body she needs to take out the Cherufe. Raine was tricked calling for Zafira to help when she was trapped between two bears, Tulok is the name of his dragon in Coopers body and the soul mate to Zafira. Will she take down the Cherufe, will she finally fall in love with Cooper and be his Queen of the Ice Dragons. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. I absolutely loved the story.

Sparks fly, literally, between old school dragon Cooper and his independent modern mate, Raine. He's grumpy and primal; she's feisty and furious. It's a battle royal as the two reluctantly join forces against an ancient being bent on world destruction. This is the third story in a series, with a fairly complicated narrative arc, but I felt it read well as a stand-alone. I was delighted to see a plot line making the point that when males insist on protecting females by limiting their options and agency it isn't just benign paternalism. It unbalances the relationship in ways that can have unintended, catastrophic consequences for all concerned. The story also went beyond the romance between Cooper and Raine to give thoughtful attention to the topic of friendships among women and gender dynamics. All around it was a fun, rip-snorting, fire-breathing yarn, with unexpected depth and emotional intelligence. Very enjoyable.

Raine and Cooper did not get off on the right foot. Antagonizing one another at each turn, Raine feels betrayed that her best friends did not share that they are not Drakaina, and she is not interested in being claimed, or particularly in being a Drakaina at all. She is a natural born fighter, though, and therefore perfect for fighting off the last of the Cherufe. When it comes down to the wire, Raine is the one Cooper wants on his side, and Raine finally admits he is her fated mate.

This one is a little bit different from Delta James' other books. The Hero is over the top, as is expected. The heroine though, is even more so. Some might say reckless, she lets her temper get the best of her more than once. While part of a series, this book may be read as a stand alone. That being said, Dragon Fury is better read in order as the series. This is a well crafted finale and absolutely worth the read.

Cooper McKinley, is a dragon shifter that has been waiting a long time for his fated mate to return. When Cooper meets Raine he knows his wait is over. Cooper is determined not to make the same mistake that cost him his mate. Raine Brooks wants nothing to do with Cooper and his arrogance. Raine knows nothing about dragons and is hurt when she finds out her friends have been keeping secrets from her. Raine is a fiery character who holds her own in a male dominant society. I like that she did not just roll over and made her mate see her as an equal. They will need to learn to trust and rely on each other for the coming battle with the Cheruf. Falkor and the Phantom Fire dragon are a very interesting bunch and I cannot wait to read about them in future books. Overall, this was a very interesting and enjoyable read.

This is the 3rd book in the Reign of Fire series by Delta James and is Raine and Cooper's story. This is a story within a story. She has gone to Alaska to see if she could expand her business. Now, Zafira needs to claim Raine's body so she can defeat the Cherufe, to do so she tricked Raine into calling for Zafira to help when she was trapped between two bears, Tulok dragon (Zafira Soul Mate ) is using Coopers body. You absolutely, positively have to read this book. I have loved the previous books in this series and can honestly say this book brings all the best from those and spins it into a tale full of cavemen dragon shifters, stubborn as hell women who when together can take on the world quite literally and of course deal with planet destroying threats along the way. I wanted to shake Cooper and make him realise we don’t live in the dark ages anymore and then give Raine a massive hug for being so awesome. This book has a slightly different concept and I loved it, it doesn’t however has as many steamy scenes as the other books but I loved the story so much it didn’t bother me in the slightest.
Can’t wait to see what direction the next book takes. You get a sneak peek in the epilogue and it looks so good.

If you love your men dominant and their women just as strong, then you will love this story. I loved the story and the interaction between Raine and Cooper. Both of their characters are well developed and compliment each other even when they butt heads, which is a lot. The story moves at a fast pace with lots happening that catches your attention and keeps it. It is action packed with some of the strongest coming together for the destruction of a coming threat. This is a great addition to the Reign of Fire with hopefully more to come specifically, Falkor’s story. I would highly recommend this story and the series as great reads.

Cooper and Raine got off to a bad start. Cooper acted more like a caveman than a true mate. He was over the top protective and planned on cellaring Raine than let her fight their enemy, but Raine fought him tooth and nail every bit of the way. She was more warrior than Cooper could have guessed. As they fought against their common enemy, raine realized that Cooper was her true mate and togther they will fight for a life togther. This story had plenty of drama, steamy and Sanger but I liked the banter conflict between Raine and Cooper. They kept you on your toes to see what would happen next between them and when they finally came togther, it was very satisfying.

Fast paced finale to the Reign of Fire set

Easy read. I did not put it down. Great ending for the Warrior Queens. Raine is beyond feisty. Cooper McKinley truly gets off on the wrong foot with Raine from the moment they meet. Both were OTT in their responses, but it still works.

Never a dull moment between our H and h... we learn a lot of interesting things re: Phantom Fire and Zafira and the first battle where the queens were lost. Aria and Eden make timely appearances. There are several cases of happy coincidences, and "wasn't that convenient?." And still, it all works put in the end.

I'm ever so glad I decided to read this set. It will be one of my favorites for this set of characters.

Dragon Secrets….

Book 3 in the Reign of Fire series and wow what a different journey this book takes us on…
There is no love between Raina and Cooper from they first meet and the fireworks spark when Cooper tries to take over Raina’s life by being over protective and she fights back literally…but her life take a turn when in the face of danger Raina is tricked into joining Zafira’s soul with her mind then finding out her best friends and sisters in life had omitted the secret of becoming drakania..
There is some quite dramatic twists in this story but with the threat from the Cherufe on the horizon Raina and Cooper must work together…definitely a top read for me…

The dueling personalities of the leads in Dragon Fury definitely heats up the Alaskan wilderness as this third entry in the series Reign of Fire envelops the reader within another romance between an alpha dragon shifter who has finally found his forever mate and with said mate needing a LOT of convincing.
Raine and Cooper’s journey is quite a fierce one and full of twists and turns that keeps the adventure and ever present dangers fast-pacing along, and that’s without her insistence she isn’t his mate.
Great writing with action, suspense, and plenty of steam made for an excellent immersive read.

If your fated mate is fiercely independent and has nothing but disdain for overbearing males, lesson one is to woo with finesse. Unfortunately the whole overbearing thing is an integral part of Cooper’s makeup as a dragon lord and he doesn’t do subtle well, much less compromise. Raine is just coming into her own as a powerful drakaina and she’s not about to docilely submit. Let the fireworks begin. This is an excellent adventure with two strong personalities, plenty of steam and a perfect HEA.

This is Book 3 of Reign of Fire starring Raine and Cooper leader of the Ice Dragons. Wow I loved Raine and I so want to be her. I loved how her inner fire teaches all the males she is Drakaina hear her roar. I loved how grumpy dragon king did not get his way. I snickered at poor Cooper and his tantrums over his mate not cow-toeing to his will. I loved each of the women’s stories from this series and how they mastered the males that thought they knew best.

Raine arrives in Alaska to expand her wilderness business and meets Cooper. He is a butthole and is the leader of the Ice Dragons that Raine has no clue about. He recognizes her as his mate and he has waited a long time for her. An ancient spirit dragon is also wanting Raine, to use her to kill the Cherufe that she felled to kill before. I love Raine and want to be her when i grow up. She is sassy and feisty and doesnt put up with anything Cooper. A must read story.

This was an awesome addition to the series. Some would say a finale. But I’m looking forward to the next installment. This is a book of discovery & reclaimed love. Raine is training to fight the enemy in this continuing battle of survival of all living things. Throw in that she has the Spirit of the Queen of the Ice Dragons. He is the current Alpha of the Ice Dragon Pack, I loved this. Action, Danger, flight and adventure.

This is final edition to this series and is one of my least favorite of Delta's books. Raine seems mad at the world, Cooper didn't help matters. Raine and Cooper, her mate were at constant odds, they were hardly together at all throughout the whole book. She was constantly mad at her friends and it seemed everyone else, with the exception of Phantom's Fire and Falkor. The epilogue was one of the more interesting parts of the book and I can't wait for more from Phantom's Fire and Falkor. Sorry Delta for the harsh review.

This was another amazing story by Delta James. I loved this series and this was an amazing conclusion to the series. I loved how Raine was determined to do things her way. Cooper knew that she was his enteral flame but didn’t go about it the right way. She made sure that he understood that. The Cherufe needs to be defeated once and for all. The last warrior queen is going to make her presence know. Will Cooper and Raine be able to work things out before it’s too late?

This story is fierce, sexy, and fun. Bossy overprotective Alpha and Sassy hard headed female, what could be better! The story is written so well it's so easy to sync right into it and get lost for hours. These characters are so entertaining with their animosity and underlying love, not to mention those side characters that the author is so good at creating. I enjoyed watching Raine and Cooper make their way to their HEA, and the author kept me on my toes with the drama and suspense.

I have met the most stubborn man and woman in history and they are the MCs in this story. She is more stubborn than me even to the point of death. I was glad somebody pushed common sense into them. But I think they reveled in pissing the other off. Theirs is quite a unique relationship, a double mating of souls.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the story though there were several times I'd like to smack their heads.
