I love the Colton series and this one was so good. Cash Colton seeks out his ex wife Valentina because the Landmark Killer sent him a text message referring to Valentina, upon arrival Cash sees his ex pushing a stroller and a car heading straight for them. Cash vows to protect his new found daughters and his ex and so unfolds their story. This fast paced adventure has so much to it. I enjoyed Cash and Valentina reunited and discovering that they can work together on their relationship. The twins were adorable, children tend to add that something extra to a story, and the threat against Valentina and her daughters was so good I couldn’t wait to see who it was and how it unfolded was brilliant.

Think this was my first time reading HQN Romantic Suspense and I enjoyed this a lot! This book featured many of my favorite things:

-NYC
-Second chance trope
-Secret baby/child trope

Not to mention an excellent mystery at the center of it all. Valentina and Cash's relationship I think was expertly explored. How does a couple develop their bond when one person is so focused on his career and righting the wrongs of the past? Second chance is hard to pull off and I do wish each character groveled a little more. Hiding children is crazy! I think this could be read as a standalone novel but I could tell that there's more to the mystery and would probably understand more if I read other Colton books.

In all I enjoyed this book. Lisa Childs is super prolific so there's plenty to pick up from her backlist.

A fantastic romance and suspense story keeps you on the edge of your chair. Cash Colton an FBI special agent and ex-wife Valentina Acosta Colton where divorced. Three years they had been divorced Cash received a text about his ex-wife and is worried that she is in danger. But still he is very protective of her. When he goes to see her he gets told twin daughters. She had kept the secret from him for 3 years. When he finds out that they are in danger from a serial killer he has been trying to find. Things happened and he realizes they are in trouble. Can Cash protect Valentina and his twin daughters? What will happen between Valentina and Cash? Will they survive a serial killer?
Lisa wrote a fanatic story with characters where put together perfectly.

I really enjoyed this second chance romance, with action and suspense. The little girls in this book melted my heart. This book was another great edition to this series. Each book can be read as a standalone. I’m hooked, so I can’t wait to read the next one.

This was a mystery. It was a double mystery. However you didn't get that until the end. I enjoyed trying to figure it out. The start of this mystery was action from the beginning. It was good about romance and job balancing too. Having to reset your priorities.

I liked the twins on the book cover. I liked this book's storyline. I liked the action in this story. I liked Cash's 💵 character. I liked Valentina's character. I loved ❤️ the twins, they were adorable. I liked the ending.
