Debby Giusti is a medical technologist who loves working with test tubes and petri dishes almost as much as she loves to write. Growing up as an Army Brat, Debby met and married her husband – then a Captain in the Army – at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Together they traveled the world, raised three wonderful Army Brats of their own and have now settled in Atlanta, Georgia, where Debby spins tales of suspense that touch the heart and soul.
The New York Public Library has a ton of these conservative romance/suspense books available for download, and they all have these weird, self-explanatory titles. Texas Christmas Twins, Theme Park Abduction, Cowboy To The Rescue… my wife and I had fun just going through the titles. I dared myself to read one so I picked my favorite title of the bunch, Amish Blast Investigation, which I keep misremembering as Amish Blast Explosion.
Was it bad? Yes. Was it predictable? Yes, the entire book is telegraphed within the first few pages. What I wasn’t expecting was how dumb it was. Sorry if you like this stuff, but for real, this is a dumb ass book, as all of these types of books probably are. Saying the characters are one-dimensional is putting it nicely. Things are so black and white here, that as soon as someone comes on the scene, you know if they are a “good guy” or a “bad guy,” and you are never proven wrong. It’s basically a children’s book.
One bad guy is repeatedly referred to as the “bald guy.” He shows up randomly so frequently that it made me laugh every time. The author clearly feels the need to throw him in once a chapter to keep the suspense from dissipating. He literally shows up, threatens someone, attacks them, and leaves over and over again. Another thing I didn’t expect was the anti-GMO messaging just casually dropped in.
It’s bad, but it’s fascinating in how it’s a reflection of the values of a change-averse culture which I’m not a part of, the same way that Hallmark movies of 10+ years ago were.
I’m giving this two stars. Maybe I don’t know what a one-star book looks like. I mean, I did finish this. It did tell a story. It’s harmless enough.
Amish Blast Investigation is a suspense inspirational romance story written by Debby Giusti. The author has done a fantastic job developing strong characters for her story. The storyline is filled with suspense, drama, and love which keeps the readers interest. There is a sadness that you feel throughout the entire story for a father and son that never reunited. The son, however, does get answers to his questions.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Amish Blast Investigation. Debby is one of my favorite LIS authors. So I was thrilled to receive this book in the mail. If you follow me you know I love suspense and I really like the Amish stories so this is right up my alley. This story is well-written, action-packed, and full of faith. You are going to love it.
Becca Klein is working in the bakery shop when one of her favorite customers comes in. He always is the first to come in on Tuesday when she makes her raspberry-filled donuts. Today he is late. She gives him his two donuts and coffee. She is headed out with a bowl of water for his pup. He calls her back and gives her his Bible. He tells her he is going out of town for a while. She goes out to give the dog a bowl of water and a treat when the bakery blows up.
Englischer Luke Snyder couldn't believe the call he received saying his father had died. At first, he thought it was a cruel joke but the young woman said he had called him Luke-boy. It really is his father. He leaves his home and goes to find out what happened to his father. He and his father were estranged but he is going to help Becca find out why his father had to die.
An explosive journey to find answers to what had happened to Andy Thomas. God has a plan for these two. A plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. A good plan for peace and not for destruction. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your life.
Amish Blast Investagation by Debby Giusti This book is a wonderful Inspirational Romance that will hold your attention from page 1, it’s a storyline full of well crafted characters that are sure to get under your skin and pull at your emotional core. This story reminds me of two sayings, one being “ The grass is not always greener on the other side” and the other is “ Don’t over look what you have because you may regret it once it’s gone” Becca Klein and Luke Snyder story is a reminder to hold true to all you hold dear, it will also remind you that what we once believe to be our reality is far from what God has planned for us and in the end community, family and faith will always have the biggest hold on our heart. I really hope we have not seen the last of these characters. To me you know you have a hit when readers not only remember the characters but pray their storyline will continue as they almost become friends. Pick up this book and enjoy this wonderful story. I was gifted a copy of this book but was not required to leave a review, I’m so happy to be able to suggest this wonderful book.
I really enjoyed this book. I have never read one about an Amish woman who went on an adventure with a man she would fall in love with. I know that it wasn't an adventure for fun, but they found out a lot of information along the way. You slowly got to learn more about Luke's dad and why he was in hiding. He was a scientist who wanted to do good in the world, and not for his own gain, and like everything else in this world, some sort of government wanted control of it so that they could profit from it. I really enjoyed reading this book and seeing how the trip would end. Once I got to chapter 20 I thought it was over and he was going to leave her and not look back. But then I turned the page and there was a whole other chapter to be read and all was right with the world. They went through so much to find the information that could help so many. I was hoping that there would be a good ending and there was. It was nice to finish out the book with the two main characters getting their happily ever after. If there was a second part to this book I would definitely read it.

Oh my goodness - this is just the best book - Amish Mystery and intrigue!! Becca Klein works in a local bakery, a customer gives items for safe keeping, the bakery explodes and the story starts reveal itself to the reader. Becca is determined and strong willed and wants to unravel the mystery of why he trusted her with his valuable information. Becca is given the responsibility of informing his son of his untimely passing and Lucas Snyder and Becca join forces to reveal the mystery. This book will just pull you in and keep those pages turning until the mystery is solved. Will they find the reason someone would blow up the little country bakery. Debby Giusti thank you for sharing your talent for intrigue and mystery, this book is definitely a must read.
I loved how the book started with the blast. Most books the title isn’t the beginning of the book. This book had lots of events that traveled in different States. It’s rare to read an Amish book that isn’t contained to one area. This book had me intrigued from beginning to end. This book was a little slower than most of her books but still a lot of suspense. I definitely give this a thumbs up.
One minute it's quiet and a friendly discussion between a favorite customer and his favorite treat.. Then BOOM! in a instant everything has changed. Changes come fast and your being pursued. A must read if you love mystery and want to know what that BOOM and destruction and a reason for the death involved.
Excellent book. Every book you read by Debby you love. Great stories, Great characters and a joy to meet in person a few years back. Super nice lady and so sweet in person. All of her books are top notch. Buy them.
A page turner of mystery and a love story. Will Becca committed to her Amish roots or leave her community to find love. Will he solve the mystery of who blew up the bakery or will it end in a dead end? This book does not disappoint.
I was gifted a copy by the author, and this is my honest review
