Another fast-paced romantic suspense from a talented author. With a beautiful, unique setting, a dangerous mob after the heroine, and a hunky hero, fans of romantic suspense won't want to miss this one!

Abigail Fox and her son try to get to safety in South Dakota. Her late husband was mixed up with the mob. Now it's believed that Abigail has incriminating evidence against them. When her son is abducted park ranger Micah Ellis is a witness. This is a exciting, intense story with lots of suspense. A must read.

Oh, my, what a story! A wife discovers that her late husband was connected to the mob, and she suddenly finds herself in a frantic race to find safe shelter in the South Dakota Badlands. And then, the unthinkable happens! Her four-year-old son Owen is snatched by the men she's trying to escape, and Abigail Fox becomes a desperate mother searching for her child!
Dangerous Desert Abduction begins with Owen's terrifying kidnapping and the danger and suspense never let up. I thought I knew who was acting as a mole in the investigation, but I was totally wrong! Well-developed characters, an unexpected alliance between two emotionally wounded individuals, and an inspiring faith journey made this a book that I couldn't put down. Author Kellie VanHorn kept me fully engaged and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough! This is my second Van Horn book and I'm now a believer! I recommend this book to all who enjoy romantic Christian suspense.

A riveting tale of suspense filled with an abundance of secrets, villains, and fast-paced action . . .
This is the second Love Inspired Suspense novel I've read by this gifted author. I didn't know much about the Badlands of South Dakota before I read this story, but the author made the scenery, dangerous conditions, and magnificence of this setting come alive on every page. From the unique rock formations to the scorching heat, I felt as if I was experiencing the park conditions right along with the characters.
I quickly became fully immersed in widow Abigail Fox's nightmare because of the author's excellent portrayal of the young mother and her dedication to and deep love for her four-year-old son, David. The courage and determination Abigail exhibited throughout the story made her a likeable heroine.
Park ranger Micah Ellis assists Abigail throughout the story in an effort to help her solve a mystery that is threatening every aspect of her life. He is smart, resourceful, brave, and trustworthy. He takes numerous risks in an effort to unravel the tangled web of deceit and violence in which Abigail and David are caught.
At the end of the story I was once again in awe of how experienced suspense authors such as Kellie VanHorn build their intricate plots much to the delight of their readers. I look forward to reading more stories by this skilled author.
The story is completely clean in language and content. The faith thread was an integral part of the book, and I appreciated the manner in which this subject was presented.

Micah Ellis is a law enforcement ranger, currently stationed at Badlands National Park. He comes out of the grocery store in time to witness an abduction. Now he will do all he can to help Abigail get her little boy back safe and sound.
Abigail struggles with her faith, convinced the bad things happening to her mean the Lord doesn’t love her. Micah had gone through his own crisis of faith, but came out stronger than ever and is now trying to encourage Abigail.
As the days pass, that little spark they both felt continues to grow, but does the Lord mean for that spark to ignite a future together?
You’ll want to find out! I read this in one day, and I was thrilled it has an epilogue…my favorite!

This is the second book I have read by Kellie VanHorn. The suspense in this novel starts right away. The main female character, Abigail Fox, was unbeknownst to her betrayed by her husband before he died. She and her son are being chased down for files that her husband made that would out the mob. Thankfully she has help from a park ranger named Micah Ellis. The author does a good job of writing the interactions and budding relationship between these two characters. The novel is also made more interesting because you are trying to figure out who is working behind the scenes with the mob to locate them. I definitely recommend this book because it is entertaining and will keep you on your toes.

Kellie VanHorn does it again. Dangerous Desert Abduction was an amazing story. With action from start to end. Even was surprised at the end by an unexpected twist. You won't regret reading this one.

DANGEROUS DESERT ABDUCTION by Kellie VanHorn the fabulous, well-written story centered around Abigail Fox and Micah Ellis. It’s full of action and mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the last as you observe and pull for a growing romance.
Abigail’s trying to put her life in order after the death of her husband, which was ruled as a suicide, only to find herself in the crosshairs of danger around every corner. She’ll do anything to keep harm from coming to Own, her four-year-old son. After her fiasco marriage to Brian, she’s determined to never be pulled to a web of false words and appearances again. She’s sworn off men and relationships completely.
Micah Ellis, law enforcement Ranger at Badlands National Park, has had his fair share of stumbling blocks in his life. As a young boy, this mother just up and left his father and him making him wonder if it had been his fault and to blaming his father for it all. Finding out she was dead didn’t help his downward spiral. As an adult and through his faith, he has begun the process of mending the past and starting a future with his father. Then he found out his relationship with his girlfriend Taylor was only one sided just about broke him. He had been very excited when he decided to proposed to her, but she told him she was just having fun and was also seeing other men. While it crushed his heart, he did what he always did and closed that chapter and keep trying to move on. Only by now, he’s sure he’s no judge of character, that relationship never last and he’s definitely not open to putting his heart on the market for another woman – now or ever.
After receiving a letter mailed to her from her husband - written before his death and held up through the mail, it became apparent that he had been involved with the mob and more than likely his death wasn’t a suicide. The letter only confused her and left her with more questions than answers. She realized that the life she thought she had was only a figment of her imagination – a lie. She never really knew the man she married. When her apartment was ransacked, Abigail knew it was time to disappear. She packed up her car with a few belongings and left town with her son. When her son is abducted in the store parking lot where she had stopped for some grocery supplies before going to her rent house, she feels like things are hopeless. Thank goodness, Micah had been driving into the parking lot at the time and seemed to be taking control of assisting her and getting the proper help. But can she trust his man, a man she’s never seen before, when the abductor of her son claimed to be her husband’s best friend, a man she thought she knew and the man her son called Uncle?
Fate or faith, Abigail didn’t know which, but she was able to hold her son again and decided he would be safer with her sister. Will he remain safe there? While having him safely tucked away, danger keeps finding her and Micah no matter where they escape to or where they turn. Can they out wit and outrun them? Who is the person behind all this? Will finally finding the key and the note with it, lead them to finding out what these people are after them for and what is so important they are willing to kill for? Will it answer questions or only bring them more danger? What will happen to the money Eric stashed away that Abigail had no knowledge of? A cat has nine lives. How many attempts on Abigail’s and Micah’s life will they have before they will run out of lives and one of them has to pay the price? There seems to have been an immediate attraction of sorts between Abigail and Micah. During it all the danger and excitement, the electricity between Abigail and Micah seems to have grown in intensity. Is it real or just the events happening around them that makes it seem that way? Neither of them wants any sort of relationship, but does God have other plans for their future – if there even is a future for either of them? Will Micah convince Abigail through actions and words that God has everything in his hands and his love surrounds her giving her the knowledge and faith to believe in him again? Will Micah start to listen to his own words?
DANGEROUS DESERT ABDUCTION is the type of book that once you start reading you won’t be able to put it down. The excitement will get your adrenaline pumping right alongside the characters in the book. Kellie VanHorn has expertly woven a thread of faith through adventure, danger, family values, and finding romance when least expecting it or even necessarily wanting it and while reminding us all that God loves all of us. HE wishes us to turn over our troubles to HIM because HE has it all under control and only asks for us to pray, ask and accept HE knows best. DANGEROUS DESERT ABDUCTION is the type of book that you can’t read it fast enough, hate to see it end and would be happy to recommend it anyone and everyone. It’s the perfect book for those that love any clean Christian genre. It surely gets my FIVE STARS and a very high recommendation!

Abigail Fox knows her husband would never commit suicide. She is frightened and takes her son to the Badlands in South Dakota, but she soon finds that the long arm of the mob can reach her anywhere. She learns this lesson when someone kidnaps her son in a grocery store parking lot. Park ranger Micah Ellis witnesses the attack and steps in to rescue him, but it is a temporary reprieve. The mob wants something from Abigail that her husband left for her. She has no clue about the existence of the documents that they insist she is in possession of, and has no clue where to find them.
Abigail and Micah are on the run for their lives all while trying to figure out where this information will be stored. Since the mob is involved, they do not know who to trust, which makes their journey even more difficult.
This was a superb, action-packed, suspense-filled book with terror and danger around every corner.
There are characters you will love, and there is faith lost and found with true peace for the characters. I could not put it down once I started reading it because the suspense was killing me. Micah was my favorite character because he protected a complete stranger and her son without regard for his safety or well being. He was a true hero whose faith sustained him in the present and in the past. I had no problem giving this one five stars.

Oh my what a book! You've done it again Kellie VanHorn.
Even though I'm old school and love holding a physical book I'm reading I did manage to get through the kindle version. Just takes me much longer due to my poor service and it's harder for me on a phone vs a physical book. I can't put down a good book once I get my hands on it.
This book was absolutely hair raising from start to finish. I love how you hinted at who might be behind some of the incidents but until the end didn't actually expose the person.
The fact that both Micah and Abigail had had their hearts broken and how God helped them find each other touched me. Especially Abigail's failed marriage and how hard she worked to try to save it. Long story short several years ago I went through that with my ex-husband. Hind sight being 20/20 with God guiding me I can see where things worked together for my good especially for my daughter's good. However, like Abigail at the time I couldn't see that it was going to be best later. Like Abigail I was blindsided by my ex-husband although I never doubted God even when my daughter's life was threatened. I was so glad Abigail learned to embrace her faith and trust God.
There were so many times you kept the reader in suspense keeping us guessing making it very very interesting! Thoroughly enjoyed it!!!

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Dangerous Desert Abduction. This is an amazing story. It's well-written, action-packed. and full of faith. I know you're going to love it.
Widow Abigail Fox is on the run. She and her four-year-old son have been on the road for two days. There was no way her husband's killers could find her here but someone is watching her. David, her husband's friend steps out of a car. He'd been a great help so why did she feel in danger? Why had he followed her? The other man with him grabbed her. After threatening her David took off with her son.
Park Ranger Micah Ellis shouted at the man to let her go. The man shoved the woman at him. She would have fallen if he hadn't caught her. She told him they had taken her son. They only had until tomorrow to find the files her husband had left. Can he find her son, the files, and keep her safe?
A terrifying journey of desperate killers trying to save themselves by finding the files. God has a plan for these two, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. A good plan for peace and not for destruction. Give Him your life and watch Him move in your life.

Micah Ellis, a law enforcement ranger in the Badlands Park, comes to her rescue when he sees her struggling with two men. From that point on, he becomes her protector.
In the midst of the danger, and the abduction of a child, feelings develop. But both of these individuals have been hurt by someone they loved. While one has found his faith, the other one feels abandoned.
In the end, will they survive the mob? Will Abigail find her faith returning? Will both of them open their hearts and have a future together or will they go their separate ways?
The plot was engaging and the main characters likable .

What a book! It starts out with a little boy getting kidnapped and it just gets more fast-paced and edge of your seat until the last page. You don't know who to trust, who to believe and just how far the bad guys are willing to go to get what they want. Are the good guys really good, or is the mob paying them to turn their head and reveal safe house locations? Will Abigail and her little boy be able to put their past behind them or will they even have a future? You will need to read this book to find out and make sure that you don't have any plans so you can read this book without interuptions. I received a complimentary ARC of this book, but wasn't required to leave a review. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and looking forward to reading more from this author.

Kellie Vanhorn does it again with a breath-holding page turner! Dangerous Desert Abduction is a great story that has your attention from the very beginning with heart pounding action and suspense. The love of a little boy, a strong protective hero, not knowing who they can trust, betrayal, and even the details of the scenic landscape are all contained in this great read. I loved the characters and felt connected to them. Finding the strength to trust in Micah and in God, the heroine Abigail realizes she cannot do it on her own. Love the twists and turns throughout and it wasn’t until the end that you find out who was behind all the danger.

Abigail Fox's whole world has changed following her husband's suspicious death. Now she is fleeing to the South Dakota Badlands to try to stay safe, then the Mob abducts her 4 year old son and demands for her to turn over evidence that could incriminate them. Luckily, Park Ranger, Micah Ellis witnessed the abduction and steps in to help Abigail find her little boy. As they try to figure out the next step to save her little boy, it seems the Mob is anticipating their every move and they must find her late husband's files to save her son and before they become the next victims of the Mob. This book was definitely action-packed and full of twists and turns throughout the book. I highly recommend this book!

This book grabbed my attention and never let me go! I liked that it was so suspenseful from the first chapter until the last. My heart was beating fast the entire time that I was reading. I really liked Abigail, who was on the run and Micah, a law enforcement ranger, who just happened to be there to help her. I also liked that Micah's faith was inspiring Abigail to call on her faith too, because she was going to need it to get out of the mess her husband had made for her before he died. I could not put this exciting, suspenseful book down! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

A fantastic fast-moving book. The action begins in chapter one and continues throughout the book. I loved that it included a national park as the location. We will be traveling that park this summer, so I am looking forward to finding the spots noted in the book. Nice easy read with great faith-based aspects intertwined throughout. I recommend and have already passed my copy on for someone else to enjoy.

Dangerous Desert Abduction by Kellie VanHorn is an exciting christian romantic suspense. Abigail Fox runs to the Badlands in South Dakota thinking she and her young son will be safe from the mob. Unfortunately, that isn't true when her 4 year old is kidnapped at the grocery store parking lot. Thankfully, park ranger Micah Ellis steps in to help Abigail after he witnessed the kidnapping. As he puts it, God wanted him there at that exact moment to help. Micah and Abigail run for their lives as they try and find the files Molly's husband hid before his death. Can they survive and get the files before the mob finds them?
OMS! I loved Abigail and Micah. It was a great story that had a mystery inside all the suspense. They had to figure out where the files were from the clues left in a letter. They also had to deal with unresolved issues each of them had. There was an epilogue and it was wonderful. =). I really hope that sister Abigail's sister gets her own story too. So I'll be wishing for that. If you want a book that will keep you turning every page until the end and have lots of twists and turns then this one is for you. I was given a copy, but all opinions are my very own.

The book keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who is telling the mob where Abigail is and all the danger around every corner.

I really enjoyed this clean, Love-Inspired, Romantic Suspense. I bought this at a local library book sale. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've given it a 5* rating. This story pulled me in, right from the beginning. This woman went through a lot, for the love of her child. Over and over again, more was needed to save her child. Lots to enjoy about this story and will be looking for more of this author's work.

This was a great Christian suspense story. I loved the part of the story about how they tracked down the files. Didn’t see it coming. There were a lot of nail biting moments and God moments. Great read!

An amazing fast paced book that will have you wanting more Having enough tragedy in her life, Abigail’s young son is kidnapped ,who and why is doing all this to her. There are secrets and questions that will make you binge read.

First time reading an Inspirational Romance Suspense book. I wasn't too sure if I was going to like it considering a four year old boy was thrown in the Middle. I'm more into mystery, horror books, but this book was pretty good. I may try another suspense book soon.

Truly loved this exciting chase as our heroine is trying to escape bad guys who are determined to find evidence she didn’t know she had, and are willing to hurt her or her little boy in order to get it. There’s a massive twist at the end that was really well done.

What a fun read, filled with danger, love, forgiveness, wonderful characters, and a beautiful landscape. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to other books by VanHorn. This was the first book I've read by this author. I'm hooked.
