Sometimes, the best rides are unexpected. Orson Mackenzie didn’t want a relationship. Perfect. Neither did I. But what started as a fun ride with no commitment turned into hitching our cars to the same train. Orson needed my insurance. I needed his tax break. So we signed a piece of paper to make me his not-so blushing bride. Forever was never the destination. Until Orson unexpectedly changed course, and we found ourselves on different tracks. Now, it’s seven months later, I’ve lost my apartment and, luckily for me, my husband still has a heart of gold. And a spare bedroom. I can move in with my fake husband, right? How hard can it be? Except I’m having a hard time overlooking how his eyes undress me and the way his voice rasps when he calls me sweetheart. And the more time we spend together, the more I see through his happy-go-lucky exterior. He needs someone in his corner, and for once, maybe I need someone in mine too. I shouldn’t fall in love with my husband. But my heart might be thumping to the bumpy tune of forever. Our Ride To Forever is a romantic comedy featuring a secret marriage of convenience and lots of roommate shenanigans in a house with only one shower and very, very thin walls. Enjoy the comforts of a small town theme park, filled with lots of love and even more steamy, sizzling spice!

How do I possibly review a book that I loved as much as I loved Our Ride to Forever???
Theo and Orson are EVERYTHING. Theo struggles to feel seen, appreciated, and valued and sweet Orson is a helper who does so much for other people, to the detriment of his own mental health. Theo and Orson’s chemistry was certainly off the charts, but their friendship and how they helped each other was what really shone for me. I loved the scene’s with Theo’s dad, the baseball game was so fun… this book is just chalk full of amazing pockets of moments.
But, oh, the STEAM!! Julie Olivia said, “this is my steamiest book yet”, and she DELIVERED. The book starts with a bang, and then it’s a delicious slow burn that has you screaming JUST KISS ALREADY!! There is a scene in the tunnel of a new ride at the park that had me PANTING… and they were JUST TALKING. And then in the BOOTH??? Ugh. I was unwell.
Orson… sweet, sweet Orson. My Zac Efron cinnamon roll with the kindest heart and THE FILTHIEST MOUTH. My god. New book boyfriend alert, for SURE.
I am blown away by Julie’s writing in this one. It is funny, tender, and sexy as hell. The fact that they always called each other husband and wife?? UGH. I was obsessed. It’s great to be back with this incredible friend group/found family and I am excited for Bennett and Ruby’s book, but also so desperate for this series to never end.
ETA: November 12th
Just finished my reread and can confirm that this book is absolutely everything. I loved it even more the second time around.
ugh this series is like the perfect mix of ridiculously sweet moments paired with unbelievably spicy hot moments. it also has some of the sweetest relationships, the most amazing friendships, and the cutest small town setting.
i adored the first two books in this series, and i have the same sentiments for this one as well! truthfully, i was a smidge upset when i learned that this book followed theo and orson bc i have been so anxiously awaiting bennett and ruby’s story (which is finally next!! woohoo!!) but once i started reading this i knew it was going to be amazing.
i’ve liked theo’s character from the previous booka, but orson’s character was someone who i was on the fence about tbh. he was kinda just always in the background, but his story definitely changed my opinion about him! he was the cutest lil southern gentleman with the dirtiest mouth when he was alone with theo, and i ate that shit right up!!! also, we love a confident short king. and the anxiety rep was spot on, and i loved how theo became a safe place for him to not feel as stressed.
the marriage of convenience was a pretty cute aspect to their relationship as well. i’ll admit the first half or so of the book was a bit iffy for me, but it really did pick up towards the end and i just loved every bit! the angst between both of them and fighting the feelings that grew between them was so good, it definitely had my own heart hurting. but once they couldn’t deny their feelings for each other, it was just *chef’s kiss* perfection. i adored how orson always made a point to acknowledge theo in everything she did, seeing as how her family never really understood her or really saw her. orson cared so much for her and it was genuinely the sweetest.
also, the playlists in these book’s absolutely SLAP. i love jamming out to the songs while reading bc it makes the book just all the more special 🥲 this series is a definite favorite of mine and i wish it got more recognition!! it’s so fun and entertaining. i absolutely cannot wait for the next book, i’ve been waiting for this couple since the first one!! and i think it has a runaway groom trope, which i’m hella excited to read about. it’s also friends to lovers, which i’m usually against, but bennett and ruby have such a sweet and strong friendship and although i’m going to be so sad this series is over, i cannot wait for the tension and angst in that book! ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚
I enjoyed reading this but many time did i find myself cringing at it tbh + i’m not really a fan of the marriage of convenience trope. but that ending tho omg can’t wait to read the fourth book.
At the beginning of this book, I honestly found myself thinking, “What are you doing, guys?” But by the end, I was completely invested and really enjoyed the story!
Orson is such a sweetheart, he’s always doing so much for everyone around him. His struggles with anxiety broke my heart and I do wish that aspect had been explored more deeply. We’re told he goes to therapy, but I would’ve loved to see more of what that looked like for him.
Theo, on the other hand, is absolutely wonderful. She’s kind, funny, strong, I loved her so much!
Together, Orson and Theo are just adorable. Their chemistry and dynamic made me smile and by the end, I was fully rooting for them.
When it’s not a slowburn but it’s a slowburn but they’re “my husband” and “my wife” but they cannot touch each other because feelings are like an allergy… welcome to OUR RIDE TO FOREVER! A ride indeed. I wanted to lock them on a rollercoaster until they realized how perfect they were for each other!
This one night stand was everything. Theo and Orson’s chemistry blew me away! I don’t know if it’s that this trope is one of my top ones, but seriously, I can’t see neither of them dating anyone else. This book also delivers one of the best things you can find in a marriage of convenience story: the angry ✨ that’s my wife ✨. I know everyone loves this moment too so you can read this book and squeal with me. They’re also roommates so the tension is exquisite! The universe was pushing them together alll the time.
Orson’s anxiety broke my heart. Trying to do everything and be everywhere is so exhausting, but I’m so happy that Theo was there for him. When romance includes anxiety I love to see how the partner reacts and acts to help the other person with it, and I loved how much Theo cared for Orson, even at the beginning.
I can’t believe the series in ending with the next book. It feels like yesterday that I met the Honeywood crew! 🎢💛
TW: Anxiety attacks
ARC provided by Julie Olivia. Opinions are my own!
i cannot believe the words "horse cock" were mentioned in here. julie olivia favorite author maybe. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
this book is full of tropes that i typically stay away from - fwb, "a hook up that leads to a relationship", marriage of convenience. tbh, this is definitely third if i'm ranking the series so far, but i trust julie olivia. and i was right for that.
i love how olivia plays with tropes. it's a second chance romance, but the original romance was a one night stand turned fling turned marriage of convenience. like, GIRL. that's so much.
this was just a good time. i love julie olivia's writing. the men are always sweet and perfect and the atmosphere is always light, even when the drama is happening. AND. there is no third act break up. god bless. i will say, if you want to read about men who love eating women out - this series is for YOU, babe.
i am vibrating with how excited i am for ruby and bennett's book
The best Honeywood book yet. Loved Orson and Theo and the small moments they had together. I can’t hear “my wife” enough, and this one delivered. A wonderful story!
I wish I could give this book 10 stars. I knew I’d love Theo and Orson’s story but I was seriously blown away by how much I loved it! Each book in this series keeps getting better and better and I don’t know how Julie Olivia does it. Their unconventional relationship path was like nothing I’ve read before and I ate every second of it up. Can’t wait for Feb. 9th and for the rest of the world to get to experience this book!
Surprisingly more wholesome than the previous two books. They work well together and the way he treats her family is adorable.
I know we're supposed to hate Jolene, but I can't help but feel sorry for her. Such intertwined intense friend groups are scary, especially with there's something so obvious going on with one of them. This next one is going to be so messed up.
I have not and will never stop recommending this book/series to everyone that I know.
The small town/theme park setting combination has me in such a chokehold, but then Julie Olivia also went and created the most perfectly imperfect collection of characters that have so much depth and feel so real. Forever a fan of the friendships and found family in this series 💜
I don't even know where to start with Theo and Orson, but there was not one single moment of this book and their journey that I didn't love. The way these two just SAW each other and took care of and believed in one another, my heart is a puddle for them, they are so precious. And this book has some of the best spice I have ever read, the mouth on Orson oh my GOD. Julie truly blessed us this time around (not that we weren't blessed before, but this is next level hot 🔥)
This has easily become one of my all-time favorite books. I will be rereading ORTF again and again and again.
Rating a Julie olivia book any lower than 5 just feels wrong to me in my heart.
“But, seriously,” she says, slumping against the door with a grin, “I don’t really see that happening.” “What?” I ask, returning her smile. “Us falling in love.” “No?” “Absolutely not.” “Yeah,” I say with a final engine backfire of a laugh. “Yeah, me neither.”
Tropes: Small town romance Tight knit friend group Short king Marriage of convenience One night stand to friends to lovers And they were roommates hehehehe
Plot:
When Theodore Poulos, the town's life of the party vacation friend meets a fellow non-committal Emory Mackenzie, the town's one and only bartender she decides that she is a woman with an aim and the aim is to bed that man and have her fun without any strings attached. Which they do......for a while atleast. Sometime into doing the deed Orson felt uncomfortable and ended up in the hospital. Well now ladies and gentlemen we know how expensive medical bills are in this economy. Theo saw Orson struggling and approached with the idea that they should get married ALSO she gets a massive cut in taxes if you're married. So, they get married. A couple of months into their no strings toe curling having hot sex fake marriage Orson falls for her and decides to make it real. Gets her a ring and *drum rolls* she says no. They get distant and she gets a call from him again saying he got into a medical emergency and was listed as his emergency contact (no it wasn't anything serious)
But a lotta chapters later Theo finds herself fall for Orson. Meanwhile Orson is in love with her too but is too scared to bring it up again because he doesn't want to ruin whatever friendship they built up.
Theo has been told too many times in her life that she’s not the smartest or the most successful or the center of anyone’s universe. I’m happy to prove that she is the center of my world. I’ll prove every belief she’s ever had, everything she’s ever been told, every single lie that she believes, isn’t real. I’ll prove it all wrong.
Not to mention the smut??? Julie POPPED OFF writing this smut I had my feet swinging in the air laying on my chest giggling at this I'm sorry i was flustered
“Look at how good you take me,” I say, eliciting a small moan from her as her eyes close in ecstasy. “No, Theo. Watch your husband when he fucks you.”
The MY wife and your husband dialogues wakes up something so feral in my heart god bless
To sum it up, I inhaled this book. And it was *chef's kiss*
Now come through with BENNIE BOY I am so here for it He's a runner he's a trackstar🥰
Our ride to forever is book 3 of the Honeywood Fun Park series. This one follows Theo, our beautiful ride supervisor at Honeywood/amazing yoga instructor and Orson, the owner of the local bar and the absolute best guy around. They always had the hots for each other, and after a couple of weeks of messing around, they find that the solution to Orson's lack of health insurance, and the tax break Theo needs for her business, is to enter into a marriage of convenience. What can possibly go wrong?
LOOK, I've been reading and loving this series SO MUCH, but OMG...this book? Its absolute PERFECTION. I see no flaws and I just won't tolerate any slander. Let me start by saying that once again, the extremely likable main characters and the amazing side characters are at the core of this series. The whole town is so perfectly written, and all the characters fit so well to each book and story. Its (to me) seamless.
With this book specifically, both of our main characters are absolute stars. I want to protect them from all evil and harm this world offers. Theo is IMO extremely relatable, such an independent beautiful soul that cares so much for others and its just a delight to read about. I loved her in the other two books because of her honesty and how witty she was, but now I think she is my absolute favorite. Orson, he is perfect. The way he cared for Theo was SO BEAUTIFUL, he saw her as she was and not once tried to change her. Look I am a sucker for "reformed playboys" and he is just for me, the best of all of the ones I've read. That men fell first and HARD for Theo, from the very beginning. So hardworking and just beautiful inside and out.
TW for anxiety and panic attacks.
While the story is extremely cute, I think it was very powerful the way anxiety and anxiety attacks were portrayed in the story. Orson deals with anxiety due to everything he tries to handle in his life and in the life of others. The vulnerability in him was so real, and how it was dealt with I think it was realistic and refreshing because is not often that I get to read mmc talking about panic/anxiety attacks and getting treatment and help.
Favorite quotes: "I see you, Theo. Even in the dark, behind your mask, I promise I see you.”
“I mean that you deserve so much more than a courthouse or even a cathedral. You deserve the world. Nothing less than mountaintop vows for you, Theodora Poulos.”
"“You know, I learned a while ago it’s best to just let Theo do what Theo wants,"" he says. “Why cage a bird that needs to fly?”
I very much enjoyed returning to Honeywood for this dual POV, marriage of convenience romance that has a ride engineer and a bartender getting married for health benefits and slowly falling for one another. Filled with humor, heat and emotional depth (the trifecta for romance perfection), this was also great on audio and had lots of cameos from past characters in the series. If you haven't picked up a Julie Olivia book yet, you are missing out!! This can be read as a standalone but works better after reading books 1 and 2 in the series.
CW: anxiety and panic attacks, parental heart attack
A super sweet and super spicy marriage of convenience book. Theo and orson were such a cute couple and all the “my wife” “my husband” moments were SO great. And that epilogue omg!!! I need the next book.
I didn’t love the big time jump that happened in the beginning but all in all, a good book!
This was my first book I've read by Julie and also the first book I've read of the series. I loved it so much that I want to read the first two books so bad. And I cannot wait to dive into them. :) (Thank you Julie for giving me the chance of reading your ARC). Listen, Theo and Orson. Can we just talk about these two names?! I've never heard of Orson and I just loved it and I love how now, I have this perfect picture of an Orson. LMAO. The connection between them was amazing. Nothing toxic at all just really needing each other and I love that. Even tho it started off as something "for fun" deep down they have always known, that it's very much real! ALSO! it is spiccccceeeyyyyyy!!!!! and the spice starts right away LMAO. IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW and I am here for it and loved every second. If you like, "fake marriage" for convenience and friendship, situationship and relationship and MARRIAGE all in one then this book is just perfect for you! I loved it and I was hooked right from the start! Honestly so beautifully written and I cannot wait to read more by Julie. I'm so excited ! (also the lil map at the beginning of the book - bye).
Orson and Theo are easily my favorite couple in the Honeywood series! I can't remember the last time two offbeat characters were so perfectly suited to one another. The slow build to their relationship felt so organic and in the end is was clear that they really needed each other. This was just such a healthy and fun dynamic to watch.
Loved the pacing and their give-and-take. How when one person was struggling the other automatically jumped in to pick up the slack. It was beautiful to watch them become better versions of themselves just from the support they got out of this relationship.
And as always, these books are spicier than I expect them to be! Perfect summer vibes, I'm so happy I stumbled across this series.
I've been loving this sweet and swoony series, but I'll admit that I was a little nervous about this particular installment - and I ended up enjoying it much more than expected! We've gotten to know this group of friends pretty well throughout this series of interconnected standalones, so I had already formed some opinions about this couple. But Olivia managed to spin everything on its axis, and the entire dynamic of their relationship changed within the first few chapters. Both characters are commitment-adverse, and it was actually the fact that neither is looking for a relationship that initially brings them together. Then... well, it goes from one night stand to fling to marriage of convenience gone awry to second chance, all in the blink of an eye. Once I got a feel for how this couple's love story would play out, I became much more invested in their relationship. And it kept me on my toes the entire time, with a romance that ended up being a solid addition to the series.
The story follows Theo, a woman who loves to live in the moment. She's got a carefree attitude that keeps her single, though she's always down for a good time. So when she discovers that the cute bartender in town is also against relationships, Theo sees an opportunity for one night of fun. Things don't go quite as planned, and one night turns into a fling, which soon turns into a marriage on paper only. Theo has great health insurance, Orson needs it, and neither one plans to get hitched anytime in the future. But their friends with benefits-style marriage soon veers off-course, and that has left Orson and Theo as awkward spouses. When Theo needs a place to stay, Orson offers his spare room... and these two quickly realize that staying in the friend zone is going to be more difficult than either anticipated.
I'm glad the new situation is all spelled out in the blurb, because the whole beginning of the book feels like a spoiler, lol. It's just so vastly different from how Orson and Theo's relationship is in the first two books, it's a lot to handle. Once things settled down, I liked where it was going. These two are both players who are known for sleeping around, and I think the marriage helped tone some of that down. Conveniently not mentioning that Orson has slept with every one of Theo's coworkers (which we know from earlier in the series) was also helpful. He's actually a big sweetheart in this, such a loving and kind guy who is simply overwhelmed from all he does for the town. The contrast of Theo's carefree attitude and Orson's overworked, anxiety-ridden personality made for a great opposites attract feel, even though these two are similar in a lot of ways. I also liked the concept of a marriage of convenience that goes wrong, where they got what they wanted but didn't anticipate all of the other consequences. Plus, a roommates situation is never a bad thing. I won't say that I loved this one as much as the others - I didn't - but it ended up being a fun read. With a little more time spent on the "before" and the emotional connection, I think this could've been even stronger, but it did make for a sweet and spicy story. The final addition to the series is going to be an even tougher sell for me, but I'm curious to see if Olivia can spin that one around too.
3.5⭐️ Kind of disappointed in this one. The first 40% fell flat to me. The hero & the heroine didn’t have chemistry. A major plot point in the beginning didn’t make sense (no spoilers) and I think it was just there to kind of create conflict. The rest of the book was good and I enjoyed it. Dual POV told in 1st person. Received an ARC for my honest review.
this book had no business making me cry so much 😭 this series will most definitely go down as one of my favorites!!
theo, omg I need to hug her. I think she was the perfect character for me, I related to her on so many levels but there were also things I admired her for. Her feelings of being left out, of always feeling like the odd one out touched my heart. But also her confidence, her drive to chase her dreams, and her fears really just made me love her sm. She was funny, witty, dependable, but also so vulnerable. Her character development was compelling to see, she was everything to me! 🥹
orson 🧎🏻♀️ the man on this man’s mouth EXCUSE ME!!! all of a sudden, me: 🤰🏻. I absolutely loved him, he was so incredibly gentle, sweet and adorable 💜 I was iffy about him from the previous books but this book solidified how wrong I was!!! his struggles with anxiety and spreading himself too thin was so relatable. He’s selfless, dedicated, dependable, all while putting himself last. I loved the way he learned how to find balance, how he became more comfortable w putting himself first & prioritizing his happiness. he’s just the kind of guy that you want to bring home💘
their relationship was so sweet, their dynamic was so fun & the way everything plays out and develops was incredible to experience!! they are so raw and real it literally hurts 😭😭😭 I also enjoyed seeing Theo’s relationship with her entire family improve and fill a part of her that was missing 🥹
I think with any series, you really get attached to the characters as you continue to see them grow, but there’s something so special about this series, I literally have cried with every single book. Their friendships and the town are so wholesome, the way they are so ready to be there for each other through thick and thin & how freaking funny they are!! they own my entire heart❤️🩹
I have to add that I absolutely loved the structure and format of this book. It’s so different from any other marriage of convenience I’ve read!! The conflict happens at the beginning of the book and we see them get past it and find so much happiness and love within each other!!! julie’s writing is witty and funny and charming and it just keeps you intrigued throughout the whole book 💓
I could go on and on but the last thing I’ll say is that I am so NOT ready to finish this series 😭😭 send good vibes 😅
YOU GUYS! This 👆🏻 book is FAN-FLUFFING-TASTIC!! If you haven’t started this series yet, you need to pick it up asap!
Theo has an itch she needs scratched & as a proud single woman, she approaches Orson, the small town bar owner married to his job & a reputation for knowing how to please a woman 🙌🏻
As the pair spend time together, they share their struggles as their friendship grows. And that’s how two non-committers enter into a mutually beneficial marriage of convenience for health insurance & tax breaks. What could go wrong??
Quick Breakdown:
Just a Hookup Marriage of Convenience He Falls First Roommates Age Gap - 6 Years Sunshine / Sunshine Anxiety Rep
I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again. Romances that start with a hook up are the BEST. The pacing is perfection. We see the MC’s & all their sexual chemistry up front with the romance building all slow & delicious. It’s the best of both worlds!
I fell so hard for these characters. ORTF is a sunshine / sunshine romance, so it’s not surprising. Orson is to total book husband. I loved how he fell first, but worked hard to keep his feelings in check as respect for Theo. How he knew Theo was a wild spirit & he wanted to let her feel free. I loved how Theo slowly learned that a relationship with the right person would not feel suffocating.
Let me tell you, the spice in this book is 🔥🔥 The book starts with a literal bäng that will suck you right in. This book hits that sweet spot, spice wise, for me. And, as spicy as it is, it’s just as swoony. All 👏🏻 around 👏🏻 satisfying. It’s packed full of moments that gave me butterflies as much as it left me bothered 😉 Orson meeting her family, the skating rink, the baseball game, the shower, a little mutual mastürbation. If you want to know where my bar is set, romance wise, this is it!
Do you have a new release that you plan to drop everything for the minute you get your hands on it?
For me, that was Our Ride to Forever by @julieoliviaauthor ! The second I got the email saying my ARC arrived I immediately forgot about any other book I was reading, opened the ebook, and didn’t stop until I was finished that same day!
Happy Pub Day to the third book in the Honeywood Series!!!
I was so excited to get back to this theme park, small town, and friend group!
Each book in the series can be read as a standalone. So you can pick this up right away or start at the beginning. I highly recommend reading each one for maximum enjoyment.
Part of me doesn’t want to give the synopsis because I went into it just knowing that it followed Theo and Orsen’s love story. So I let all of the surprises hit me organically instead of having the heads up through the synopsis.
❤️Review❤️
This was one amazing ride of a book! Hands down this is my favorite book in the series. I’ve given each book in the series 5 stars and I honestly just loved them all, but there’s just something about this one that has me loving it more than the rest. I loved getting all of the reveals right from the prologue. Their romance was perfectly sweet and they had such a great trajectory of finding their true way to each other. Like I always say with Julie Olivia’s books you can feel their chemistry jump off the page. I honestly felt like I had butterflies in my stomach when reading their interactions. By the end I had tears streaming down my face in pure happiness. I’m so excited that there is still one more book in the series and I can’t wait!!
5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Now go order a paperback or read it on Kindle Unlimited right now!
Girl outdid herself with this one 🥵 this is for sure my favorite in the honeywood series!!! I’m an absolute SUCKER for marriage of convenience so I had a feeling I was gonna like this but wow it blew me away.
Orson & Theo are friendly acquaintances in their small town with the same friend group. Neither of them are the relationship type so they decide to hookup thinking it’ll be a one night thing. They can’t stay away from each other and end up working out a marriage deal to solve some problems in each of their lives.
There is so much “my wife” and “my husband” I was swooning. Orson is the sweetest man alive, my heart hurt for him for 90% of this book. Also just giggling, blushing and kicking my feet 😂 I really just loved everything about it - secret marriage and sneaking around, the spice (spiciest book in this series so far), the small town feel, forced proximity.. ughhhh you guys please read the first two books then read this when it comes out Feb 9 🥹
i genuinely don’t have many words to say about this book other than i loved absolutely every single second of it! definitely my favorite book in the series and a new all time fav book. ‘the fiction between us’ made my top ten reads list last year, so there’s no doubt this one will be at least top five for this year!!
there is quite literally nothing bad i have to say about this book — i love the characters, i love the story, i love the setting. i love how every book in this series is set in the same town and the characters work at the same theme park (besides orson but he’s close enough lol), yet they all feel like such different settings because each book is focused on a different place in the park, and we get to see an all new area/ride in this one too!
i’ll be counting down the days until ruby and bennett’s book (been waiting for this one since the first book hehe)!!
*thank you so much to the lovely julie olivia for sending me a copy of this arc :)
I didn't expect to like Orson and Theo as much as I did!!! This book was so cute and I loved the small town charm. Honestly, I am so excited for Ruby and Bennett's book, I've been waiting for them since Book 1. However...I honestly think this might be my favourite in the series so far!! The only thing I didn't like that much was the constant mention of "husband" and "wife." It was a bit cringy at times but the story itself was great!
this was very sweet and even though friends with benefits isn't my favorite, i love julie's writing so much and she ended up making me love this book. i thought orson was such a sweetie and i loved the anxiety rep in this book. i also really related to theo in so many ways. I adore this series and I can't wait for the final book!
i love this fun little amusement park series SO much it truly gives my brain so much serotonin. while this book was probably my least fav out of the other two released so far it was still so cute and so wonderful. i’m literally geeking with excitement for bennett and ruby’s book 😭😭
