Lexi C. Foss can do no wrong!

I adore every book that this author has written. This one is no exception!

The Blood Day duet is the prequel to the Blood Alliance series, which starts with Chastely Bitten. The series is about a dystopian world where Vampires and Lycans have formed the Blood Alliance and they rule over the human race. Humans are basically cattle and used for their blood or for entertainment. The series is on the darker side, especially because of the way that humans are treated.

This duet is about Cedric, a vampire who starts teaching at one of the Blood Universities, and his “little flower”, Lilly, a human who is a student in one of Cedric’s classes. Cedric teaches the combat class and Lilly is determined to ace his class, so she asks him for after class help 😏. Along the way, Lilly learns the truth about the Blood University and what happens to those who graduate.

As with all of Lexi Foss’ books, the chemistry between h and H is HOT AF 🥵. The plot is amazing and ties in nicely with the rest of the series. I did find that there was a little bit too much internal monologuing, hence the 4 star rating rather than 5. But overall, a great read!

I’m stopping at 64%. This is definitely a “it’s me, not you” kinda thing, though. I’ve read Lexi C. Foss before and even in reading this, she’s an incredible writer. I just started hitting walls that don’t necessarily match up with my own, personal idea of what love and romance is.
So in order for me to explain this, we have to enter into spoiler territory… so look away if ya don’t want that!!!

Very first thing that started to give me a bit of the ick feeling was our FMC’s classes in the sexual arts. We have to “witness” her giving a male, human classmate a blowjob. And even though other acts with this guy are not described on page, they’re referenced quite a bit. Nudity is a normal thing and she will strip down for anyone when told to. I gritted my teeth and told myself to wait it out. This feeling was made worse, though, when her advisor tells her that she wants her to maintain her virginity, so she’s going to assign a class to her that involves a lot of anal. Then right before her sexy professor returns, she’s told that she’s being enrolled in a class that teaches her how to sexually pleasure women.

So our MMC, Master Cedric, returns and he brings Lily back to the castle he currently lives in, but now Prince Khalid is also in residence there. He’s worried this may present a problem and that the Prince will interfere with his plans for his time with Lily. Well him and Lily finally do the DEED and end up invoking a special mate bond known as the Erosita. And Cedric goes on to explain that Lily’s life is now connected to his immortality and will remain so until the bond is broken. And guess how it’s broken?! If Lily is penetrated by another male, their special bond is broken. Not if he does anything with anyone else. ONLY HER. Even if she’s raped, it dissolves the bond. What kind of messed up, double standard shit is that?!

At this point I’m barely holding on, but I’m really trying. I haven’t read an entire book in so long, so I was really wanting to enjoy this one. It then precedes to threaten that Cedric might have to share Lily with Prince Khalid and I’m not interested in that at all. Not even a little bit. I’m still holding on because it seems like they’re going to find a way out of that and essentially they do, but in a strange bizarre twist, after Cedric and Lily watch Prince Khalid pleasure his female he has at the palace, Lily wants to taste her too and have Cedric watch her pleasure the female too. So all that plays out too, as well as Cedric biting this other female which is supposed to be a very intimate act, especially accompanied with sexual acts. This all just hit me the wrong way. It doesn’t align with what my idea of love and romance is. I get it, I know there are people who enjoy reading about couples sharing and multiple partners etc. and I swear, I don’t judge that whatsoever. Do your thing and get your kicks! But— I enjoy people loving each other so much and finding that love they share so sacred that they’d never even entertain the idea of doing anything sexual with someone else because that’s reserved ONLY for their partner.

All this has led to me finally having to throw in the towel. This just feels like it’s heading in a direction that I would hate because it’s already crossed the line into territory I don’t like. Such a shame because I feel like I’m never going to find another book that’s going to blow me away.

If your reading tastes are similar to my own, then you probably wouldn’t enjoy this one so much. But if you’re a little more open to what lovers can incorporate into their sex life, then you could give this one a try. Like I said, Lexi C. Foss is a very talented writer. This one just wasn’t for me, unfortunately.

My Review

This is a dystopian dark romance set in the blood alliance world. Here lycans and vampires are top of the food chain and the humans under their control are relegated to cattle. Their purpose to serve as amusement or food to their supernatural masters. The blood university is where humans are trained to serve failure means death and the only way to achieve immortality is the annual blood cup where two humans are selected each year to join the immortal ranks.

A fascinating world that’s cold and cruel and full of so much darkness the humans here are literally disposable and at the whims of their immortal overlords. Our story features lily a human student attending the university and Cedric her vampiric instructor. When these two connect both of their fates are rewritten in a way neither expected.

This had passion and tension and plenty of delicious danger I loved all of the unexpected reveals. An imaginative story that only enhances the original series. I definitely recommend this duet as usual this author totally delivered the goods. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Blood Day the Complete Duet.

Welcome to Blood University, where humans have no rights. No choices. And there are no second chances.

“Failure to comply is death.
Failure to obey is death.
Failure to perform is death.”

I love the Blood Alliance series by Lexi. And while patiently waiting for the last book to be released, Blood Day was a great way to get back into the world! The world Lexi created is so interesting, and kinda a great commentary on some social issues (but I read it for the smut, tbh hahaha)

Blood day takes place around the time the first two/three books do. In the other books, the story usually starts after Blood Day, and I loved to get a more detailed view into the horrible academy humans are being forced to attend, only to await an even more hopeless fate at the end.

This book is about Lily and Cedric, and I loved their slowly developing relationship. Lexi always gives us a lot of spice, but without it taking over the entire plot. Don't get me wrong, this is hella spicy, but the story is also captivating af.

"She was a rarity. A treasure. A beacon of sunshine in a world of darkness. And I wanted her. So I would have her."

Blood Day felt like the looming end for Cedric and Lyla's love affair. And I dreaded but also anticipated that day because I knew shit was about to hit the fan. And it sure did...but not like I was expecting.

Overall, a great duet, and if you're a fan of the Blood Alliance series, you're gonna love this one, too!

I'm so intrigued by Khalid and his little mirage, and I can't wait for their story!

4.75 stars for the complete duet! While I felt like the story was a bit slow out of the gate, I really loved where it ended up going as the pace increased and the action really picked up. Lily and Cedric have such an interesting dynamic between them. Starting out as a kind of messed up teacher/student dynamic, messed up in the sense that humans are little more than cattle to vampires and lycans. The university is intended to hone skills needed to better serve their superiors, and unknown to them, they actually have very little say in what their future will look like. But Cedric takes an interest in the fiery Lily, and finds himself wanting to find a way to improve on her destined fate. Lily has been so utterly indoctrinated into the current world view mindset, that the kindness Cedric shows her, the passion he unlocks in her world, doesn’t do much more than confuse her, scare her, and give her hope that she knows she shouldn’t have.

Cedric is pulled by royal politics, walking a fine line of what he can do versus what he wants to do to help Lily find a better path. And ultimately he decides he wants that path to include him. But Lily is stubborn and determined, and since she doesn’t understand his motivations, their actions end up clashing and things just get progressively worse for both of them. They ultimately need to figure out how to trust each other to get out the other end intact, and it’s completely engrossing watching the whole thing unfold to the end.

The tie ins with the rest of the Blood Alliance series are great, as well. As this is essentially a prequel duet, we see some familiar faces appear at what is clearly the early stages of their story, and since it’s from a different perspective, it’s quite interesting. We also get to see more of the seeds of rebellion, and mentions of other characters who play a much larger role later in the series. I loved how it pulls everything together, while still staying true to the nature of the story.

Blood Day: The Complete Duet
Part of: Blood Day by Lexi C. Foss is the fabulous complete tale of Lily and Cedric all in one easy to read location and boy is it worth the dive into this bloodthirsty ruthless, dark dystopia, cruel world, of vampires, shifters and the humans that the rule and seeing another part of the Blood Alliance world that we all know and love!

Blood Day Part One is Book 1 of 2 in the Blood Day series by Lexi C. Foss and was an amazing introduction into this captivating world of fabulous characters and was absolutely riveting!!! In Blood Days be prepared for a world where superior bloodlines make the rules and fate decides your place in society, it all comes down to one day: Blood Day. A day of reckoning that occurs on your graduation ceremony at Blood University. A day that dictates who you will become in this new paranormal world of vampires and lycans and where humans, like our heroine, are treated like cattle and essentially have no rights…

This is the story of Cedric, a vampire at the university that secretly covets something he shouldn’t—a human. A human, Prospect Four Hundred and Seven, Year One Hundred Seventeen, whom he’s secretly christened as Lily that in a perverse way of trying to save her ultimately works to destroy her by failing her at every turn in order her to keep her off others taxes and offer her a quick, painless death. Even if it hurts him in the process.

Lily meanwhile is unaware of his motives and only knows that he has it out for her—which only makes her more determined to land a spot as a Vigil, a protector in combat regardless of her size or her scores.

So what’s a human girl to do at a university where the only thing that matters are your rankings and where the master vampire seems he’ll bent in destroying you and always finds you lacking? You fight at all odds and hope you come out the otherwise alive…or you die trying.

In Blood Day Part Two, the second book in the Blood Day duet by Lexi C. Foss we return back to Blood University once again and boy is it a wild ride!!! Foss is a true master at creating worlds and characters that suck you right into the story, never letting you go, and this school is no exception!

In a world ruled by the “superior” bloodlines such as vampires and lycans and where humans have no rights, our heroine Lily just works on surviving—Until fate intervenes and provides possible salvation in the form of a vampire professor, a vampire who realizes he wants her all to himself. Yet in a world where human are essentially cattle, keeping her is not allowed.

However Cedric is willing to go to any means necessary to secure his precious flower. But what happens when betrayal lurks around every corner and previous alliances seem to turn and plans set in place suddenly go awry? So the question is…can they survive what’s coming?!?

Overall I really loved this duet and how Foss took such an original/unique take on humans in a vampire ruled world and can’t wait for more of this fabulous world!!!

This series had me in a bit of a chokehold. Defo a bit of magic sprinkled in these pages. I like how the author keeps a lot of the violence to be left to our imaginations a bit, I don’t really like reading graphic things so it’s a good balance in these books. Would defo read more of her work.

I so loved being back in this world that i devoured this duet (in one big book) in two days as it was gripping and addictive, can't get enough of this world that Lexi has created for us to get lost in.

Loved how Lily came into her own and grew throughout this book, how Cedric was with her when he let his guard down was beautiful to see after how cruel he was when they first met. There was lots of dark elements throughout this story which i loved as Lexi sure knows how to write dark and dirty and there was plenty of this.

Now i need to read the next book about Khalid and Emine's story as these books are so addictive with the underlined story about the war to come.

Giving wattpad vibes. The writing wasn’t good, but it was really entertaining. It was too long and really frequently i thought “what the f#ck am i reading”. But i did read it all, so it deserves this rating. It was weirdly just what i needed. A kind of trashy entertaining book. Oh and you also don’t know excatly if they will be happy or not, because there is a threat that isn’t resolved.

Buongiorno Fenici!

IT STARTED OFF COMPELLING AND MYSTERIOUS, DEFINITELY EROTIC AND SENSUAL BUT, I WASN'T SURE IF I TRULY APPRECIATED SOME OF THE CHARACTERS. AND I DIDN'T FIND THIS DARK AT ALL, AT LEAST NOT BY THE FUCKED UP STANDARDS I'VE ENCOUNTERED. TWISTED YES, BUT IT WASN'T COMPLETELY OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Lacked intrigue, for the better word. Are my standards too high? Or I just wasn't feeling it? I started losing interest in Book 2 and kept waiting for shit to hit the fan, but by the author lost me.

LILY is a conditioned human meant to serve the needs of sadistic and egotistic Lycans and Vampires. Compared to these supernatural beings, what are humans but bags of warm blood and extra limbs? While I understood the environment she grew up in, and stayed true to her character, that didn't mean I liked her all that much. She wasn't horrible, but believe or not, there wasn't enough FIRE to her fire, and I got annoyed whenever she second-guessed Cedric's intentions (even after they bonded) and often fell into a pit hole of feeling sorry for herself. Not exactly attractive in my opinion. A beautiful blonde with straight A's. Typical. While I enjoyed the sensual sides of the story, I wasn't completely taken by her chemistry with Cedric. Yes, it was sexy and erotic, but at the end of it all, I ask myself, amongst some of the best couples I've read, would they be one I'll rave over? Definitely not.

CEDRIC was delish, as can be expected from Lexi C.Foss. However, that being said, I didn't quite get the ANCIENT vibes from him despite his being what...3000 years old? This story read a little like New YA, and while I'm cool with that, I also like my male leads more aggressive and possessive. You might be wondering "What the hell do you mean? Cedric was extremely possessive of Lily!". In that my friend, you are correct, but simultaneously have you read an omegaverse story? It might be unfair and rude of me to compare, but this is just a personal preference when it comes to an MC I can really sink my teeth into. Okay, maybe I'm just projecting. Cedric was a pretty well written character, he's definitely not a pushover, and he's wise to always weigh out his situation before he makes a decision. It doesn't hurt that he's royal progeny (though not by blood), and the only reckless and impulsive thing he has ever done is by falling in love with a human female.

OVERALL I concede THE STORY ISN'T THE ISSUE, just myself who couldn't enjoy it. There was something missing to it, that I can't quite put my finger on, so this is just a review to those who LIKE ME, prefer their stories to be ANGSTY, MORE DARK, MORE TWISTED. I think the best part of the story was more of the eroticism than ever. That, I tip my hat off to Lexi C.Foss, she always writes the best sexual tension and chemistry build up. I won't ever say no to that.

4.5☆ Such a good read

I really enjoyed this duet, there was definitely never a dull moment that's for sure. I loved Lily and Cedric, especially seeing Lily come out of her shell and bloom.

In a world where Vampires and Lycans no longer live in the shadows, humans are where they've always belonged at the bottom and treated as nothing more than cattle. They're trained in Blood University for Blood Day, no names just numbers, no talking, keep your head down, Do as you're told. Most of their fates lead to death, only two per year are selected to be amongst twelve who fight for the immortal cup, the rest? They're groomed for Royal Harems, breeding Camps or Moon Chase where they're used for fun so predators can hunt them down and have their fun. It's a sick world but it's all Prospect four hundred and seven has ever known, she's too young to even know a world unlike this existed before. 407 has her sights set on being a Vigil a guard if u will but one particular master keeps failing her in his classes making it impossible for her to achieve. She risks her life to ask him what she can do to pass and in doing breaks the rules. But master Cedric uses the opportunity for his amusement in a world where he's become bored but Vampires aren't meant to feel and that's exactly what happens the more he's around 407 or Lily as he's taken to calling her but only in secret. It's not unusual for masters to take prospects for themselves to toy and play with but what Cedric is doing is playing a deadly game, one that could lead to both their deaths and not just Lily's. When Lily Is hurt in class he whisks her away for the weekend to heal her using his blood something that's forbidden but Cedric is realizing he'll go to any length for his Lily. But Lily is destined for Blood Day and nothing Cedric does will stop that, she's human, beneath him, nothing more than food in a world ruled by political games. What Cedric gives her is hope, hope in a world where she's marked for a nothing more than to end up in a royal harem, hope at something more is a dangerous game indeed.
As their bond deepens the less they'll want to give each other up but with Blood Day looming they'll have no choice, there's nowhere they could run that they wouldn't be found, no place to hide all roads lead to Lily living her life as a toy for the superior.
But will Cedric be able to let her go or will his deepening feelings cause him to do the unthinkable, risking everything for a human.

cedric’s pov was so good

Started off really strong, got me hooked! Loved Cedric’s POV and how he thought about Lily. Sounded like a different species, slightly psycho, it was very well written.

Around the middle and through the end, the introspection turned repetitive, and there was more introspection than action. Found myself skimming most of several chapters thus missing a lot of the plot because of the tedius repetitive monologues :/

!!! SPOILER ALERT BELOW:

Why on earth does the female have to be a virgin in order for the erosita bond to form? Says the male can’t be taken in the ass or something, but that’s not at all the same as a female being a virgin. To be equal the male should never penetrate another or something, instead of just not taking it in the ass?

And if a bond can be broken by having sex with someone else, why couldn’t the bond be formed after having sex with someone else as well? As in; they are not a virgin, meet The One, have sex and then the mate bond forms? Why virgin? Annoyed me. Hope I misunderstood it. Although «your virgin pussy claimed me» is hard to misinterpret.

I really loathe the perpetuation of the stereotype that women have to be virgins in order for love to be true and real. Because a woman has had sex before, then suddenly she can’t have a mate bond? Implying that when you have sex before you find The One, you will be sullied and can never experience true love?

It irks me because the truth is that everyone should have sex before they find the one, if they wish to; because what if you marry as a virgin and then find out that your kinks don’t mesh, or that your partner has a different sex drive than you, what if your partner is selfish and terrible and then you’re stuck in a life of unfulfilling sex thinking that this is how it is for everyone? All because you married as a virgin who doesn’t know there are other options out there. And honestly, if you find the one and wind up with an unfulfilling sex-life - then they’re not the one.
Sure, you can do other stuff and still be a virgin, but you will never know how compatible you truly are until you have sex, most especially hetero couples because of today’s society.

Slight rant, but I really hate the idea that women have to be a virgin in order to have good things in their life, which was implied in this book through the Erosita bond. Other than that, I liked it and read it within 24 hours. Even at work.

This is male sexual wish fulfillment about fucked up power dynamics.
Just make everyone else systematic scrupulous rapists and murderers and suddenly this relationship looks outright healthy in comparison.

There is nothing here but female submission porn and praise kink between a centuries old vampire and a young female virgin that has been trained as a sex slave.

The main relationship is just so bad. It reads like a sexual fantasy written by a sexist man somehow. I have seen this accusation in reviews of lots of smut before but to me is usually seems like its simply people being judgemental of the sexual preferences of others. And maybe I am doing the same thing here? But I honestly feel like this is different. The way the MMC always looks down on the FMC even while giving her space and explicitly not forcing her to perform sexual favors feels extremely condecending. The way in which he constantly has to tell her whats good for her because she is simply not able to make any decision because she is just constantly emotionally overwhelmed and helpless feels like it comes straight from the 19th century.
It's not that any single character behaves like a sexist dick explicitly, its how the story makes it seem necessary for the dude to take the reigns because the FMC is just hysterical and naive. It rubs me very much the wrong way.
I don't think I am doing a good job properly expressing why this feels so icky to me.
It's not the dark setting or the fucked up morals of the world in which the FMC grew up. I've read lots of stories with similarly dark themes which weren't like this.
It reads as if an author like Dante King wrote under a female pen-name trying to write a vampire romance for a female audience.
Making a girl orgasm often enough is the solution to life-long sex slave conditioning in the mind of this author.

This would not have been my kind of story in any case but the execution here is simply abysmal as well. I can imagine a possible 3 star book based on the same premise and characters but this is not it.

There is no one I could possibly imagine recommening this book to. Don't read this.

I mean, if you are really just here for some kinky smut and don't care for an actual plot or anything else you might expect from a fantasy novel then go for it I guess.

"A relationship that transcended time and space and redefined the formalities of a pure existence"

I read both parts in one sitting - Warning expect a major book hangover
Be prepared to experience the full spectrum with Lily and Cedric
I was swinging from anger, outrage, and exasperation to hopeful and overheated 😶‍🌫️
I can't count the times I wanted to peak ahead, just to reassure myself, or wish I could reach in and knock some sense into or out of ;() someone
It would be hard to choose a favorite from this series as each episode is a five-star read but these two would be in my top five

"Try not to dream. fantasies don't exist in your world anymore"
This is from the Prospect's perspective -
A behind-the-scenes look at the university
How the human "cattle" and "pets" are raised, trained, and finally dispersed among the vamps and lycans
Yeah it's as dark as it sounds

"I don't want to play anymore"
Lily is a prospect something thousand - she is actually nameless beyond her number. Just another prospect being trained and judged for where/whom they will best serve
That was until Cedric...
Now she's facing a reality that she is far from prepared for
But if he's telling the truth
She's got nothing to lose

"ask me for anything else and it's yours. But please don't ask me for death"
Cedric may just be one of my favorites from this series
He's bored of living the easy way
No real challenges anymore -
Sure they have the occasional hunt but their prey is weak and lacks any real desire to live -
The fight is all but wiped from them
Until his Lily

"It would be a beautiful death. And We'd spend forever together in the afterlife."
Things get pretty messed up and Cedric may have placed his trust and Lily's life in the wrong hands

This gives the reader a better insight into how the humans are treated. How they are bent and warped into submission.
It also provides a better grasp of some of the immortal politics that are going on behind the scenes and who might be helping who when it comes to the insurrection

This does deal with some darker themes - human cattle, brainwashing, noncon, blood - lots of blood, etc...
So if that is not your cuppa you may want to pass
For the rest of you
Holy cattle!!

This was amazing!
I had not read this on Vella (tbh I had no idea what that even was haha) but once I saw this was being released I had to one-click it!

This whole world of the Blood Alliance is one of the best paranormal series I have ever read. I am still desperate for the newest addition to the main series - so this little offshoot was a blood-laced tincture I didn't know I needed.

It's such a great treat to read and be inside the walls of the humans who we see on Blood Day. This whole book is mostly on campus at one of their "universities" if you could call it that.
And gives us a great deal of insight into what goes on before they are sent off to their destined "work" places.

I absolutely loved Cedric and Lily.
Cedric is quite old, he's several thousand years - no exact age was given, but that much was told. He's still younger than some of the other characters we have already met in the main series - but he's old enough and experienced enough to have high status and a Sovereign position.

Cedric like many of the series other vampires and Lycans are not a fan of Lilith or this new world, and what starts as a curiosity and game to Cedric where he ultimately plans to end Lily mercifully, turns into a star-crossed lovers full-blown romance.

It was a fantastic read and I couldn't put it down.

Lily struggles with her feelings, like other humans she doesn't know what love is or even what it feels like to be simply cared for. So breaking her conditioning is a process - but it's such a good one.

This book is spicey, deep, and romantic, and it has all the feels. It's also got action, intrigue and games.

I can't wait for the next instalment of this series, which features another char we meet, but I won't say it because that would be a spoiler. :D

This series progresses alongside the main series - so Book 1 in Blood Alliance has already happened, but not much else from what we see. And it's so great to see things happening from a completely different perspective.

This is a great 5 star read! I highly recommend it!!

I read this on Vella, and I absolutely love Cedric and Lily! Theirs is a dark love story that doesn't have much happiness in it until the end.

Cedric feels himself come alive whe he sees lily - gives her a name and starts to play with her. Because in the beginning, it is all just a game. Until it isn't.

Brought up believing humans are less than nothing, when Cedric starts to break her programming, she still doesn't believe him. And when he leaves her and she continues along the path she believes will take her to becoming a vigil, he is furious.

He shows her her fate and her mind struggles to accept while being seduced by the dark, scary vampire.

I love Lexi Foss and her writing. This one was a bit darker than the others I've read, and it was scorching!!

Khalid and his mirage (I've forgotten her name) - that was a surprise for me. I hope we see more of him!

It was also fun reading something that leads up to the rest of the blood alliance books. Like, if Cedric hadn't chosen Khalid, not too long after, he's regent is killed and he would have taken over... Interesting times!

This was a very fascinating reading, I couldn't wait until it's release on audio, and even though I have a thousand things to do I made time to read at every opportunity I got, and let me tell you I don't regret it a bit.

Though set in the same world as the ongoing series it can be read as a stand-alone, in this book we see what life is like at the Blood University the humans attend to, rather than what happens in the "outside world".

The book was well written, it's very hard to put it down, because you want to see more of the relationship between Cedric and Lily, all the push and pull .

Oh Gosh!!! The Angst in the econd part, it was such a wild ride that I thoroughly enjoyed and suffered through it all.

Cedric really step up his game to do everything and more to be able to be with Lily was everything. I was so eager for him to succeed.

I thoroughly enjoyed these second part. Really good, dark, sensual and angsty.

“I didn’t like to think of her as weak, just delicate. Which wasn’t her fault.”

Well, Lexi is basically an auto buy for me. However, I’d friggin love if she could finish her RH series though lol!

This duet did not disappoint. Human girl. Vampy teacher. Reluctant. World building. Blood sucking. Chasing. Breaking. Repairing. Love! Do it.

Is Willow’s story in the works? And what about Khalid and Emine??

Cedric and his history

This is a spinoff of types from the main Blood Alliance series and I am glad to have found it because I wasn’t ready to leave this world of characters. It’s a beautiful and dystopian story of vampires, lycans, wolves, and humans. The entire series basically highlights what happens when a world’s history is not remembered or taught. Scary right because no surprise that the same awful crap keeps happening! Now, a group of vampires and wolves are trying to return to a respectful society where all types of people are accepted not forced into slavery by a few with all the powers. This book, like I mentioned is the spinoff from the main series, which features Prince Khalid and Cedric, along with their chosen ones, telling the story of their meeting and forming the beginning of an alliance. Prince Khalid has moved up in my like category ratings. He is quite smart and formidable in all aspects. Read On!

Absolutely loved this story!
I was told by the author to read this before Cruelly Bitten which is the latest book in her Blood Alliance series. This book is a standalone in that world I guess with key players.
I loved Lily and Master Cedric 😏
The whole teacher student thing was intriguing and Cedric's dark twisted thought process surprised me every time. His thoughts about her being a flower he wanted to watch wilt or bloom was interesting.
I also loved the little sneak peaks we got with Khalid and his little mirage 😍 can't wait to learn more about those two and I'm excited their story is next
This was my first book with a little bit of FF action and I'm happy it was because it was just a dip which is actually what I needed. I would love to see more from the two couples.
I also need more information about Six! And the immortal cup. I feel like it would be an immortal hunger games type vibe and I'm here for it

There is always something more to discover in this world.
I love the Blood Alliance Series, so I had to read this book set in the same world. I liked seeing into the Blood University a bit more and how humans are "taught" and treated before Blood Day. Lily and Cedric's relationship was all over the place, which makes sense since they never would have been allowed together. Cedric had such complicated feelings about Lily, that it was impossible to predict what he was going ro do next. As much as I enjoyed their rollercoaster of a story, I am now extremely interested in Khalid. He is so calculating and powerful, while managing to stay under everyone's radar. There seems to be much more to his character than is said and his motives are unclear, which could affect other characters I love from the series.

Okay read

I did like how she had it. So that it was like the first book with Lily and um, you got to see the others like she didn't say his name. But 6 was actually going to the Wolf pack and the redhead was their friend, and she found and helped Willow, so it kind of put everybody together, I do like that, I like seeing, you know, a little bit of their origin stories. Which was really good. Yeah, I always did like her books. The female, the main character in this one kind of I mean, I know she was traumatized, but she kind of he irritated me towards the end of the book, by not believing he was real. But uh, yeah, it could always have more smut, like I said, I don't think she gives us enough smut in her books, their stories are really good, but not enough, but so I'm looking forward to, you know? Reading her next one, blood city and figuring out what's what's going on

Holy wow!

Lexi has done it again! I'm always waiting on bated breath for her new books and I'm so pleased with this one. I loved that this story interconnected with the Blood Alliance series and even brought in familiar names. I'm very curious to read Khalid and Emine's story when it comes out and, of course, Cam's. I enjoyed reading Cedric and Lily's tale along with the intrigue and suspense Lexi is known for. I liked that Lily had backbone but was also vulnerable because of how she was raised within the system, how she was conflicted as to whether Cedric could be trusted, because he is a vampire and all of her training and experiences lead her to question his nature. Great read! I'm looking forward to reading more of the characters in this universe!

It feels good to be back amongst vampires.

I have been indulging in my other fascination for quite a while and forgot how thrilling this world can be. It is no secret that vampires have a piece of my heart and probably always will. At first I was not a fan of Cedric and how he treated Lily but by getting to know him, I understood his motives. He was fascinated by her and the strong will she possessed. In a society that is ruled by superior species, one must be careful not to draw too much attention. Image must be maintained but also must learn how to juggle what matters most. In his own way, Cedric tried to protect Lily from what her life could turn into knowing the reality of that choice. Before long, he could no longer deny his feeling for this human and made his mission to possess her in every way possible. Lily was determined to survive, even consider tasks she never that she would do. It was easy to see that she had a strength that most humans did not have. So many ups and downs but by the end, things were starting to look up. It feels good to be back.

One thing I can say about Lexi C. Foss as an author is that she does great at balancing plot with spice. This is a darker romance so be sure to read trigger warnings, but this was a great time. It is dystopian with vampires and a dark dark world (especially if you are human). The tension and intrigue between Cedric and Lily WORKED. It was combustible and perhaps it was a little insta love but it was done in a way that didn't set my teeth on edge. I appreciated the time given to essentially deprogramming Lily from the awful teachings she had internalized from being in a school that treated/saw humans as cattle or only there for the pleasure of the vampires/lycans.

If you enjoyed Master of Salt and Bones by Kerri Lake or The Coven/The Cursed by Harper Woods you might like this.

Blood Day🩸

Blood Day follows the story of Cedric, an ancient vampire and a Prospect from the Blood University, a human female…whom he names Lily🌸 The story starts off with Cedric as a Professor at the University and Lily is one of his students…but he seems different with her. Their journey is fraught with dangers and challenges and political obstacles within the new world❣️

Steamy and dark and a not to be missed addition to the Blood Alliance World😍 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

I liked the two main characters well enough and there was a bit of a twist in it that I didn't expect as well. One of the side characters was very interesting and I look forward to that spin off/follow up book. Overall this was a quick duet read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Such a good story. At first, reading it on KV, I had trouble getting into it so I gave up. Then, after it had been published in ebook, I gave it a second chance and read it completely in two days. It was such a good story once I didn't have to contend with waiting for new chapters. I really enjoyed it and I look forward to hearing more about Cedric and Lily. I hope the author still has intentions of publishing Khalid's story. I'm very interested in learning more about the mercurial man/vampire once his story comes out.
