Rate this book
THREE BOOKS IN ONE A TRIPLE HELPING OF GARFIELD HUMOR
MEANS THREE TIMES THE FUN!

He used to be perfect, but now he’s even better! Garfield, the fat cat with the super sized ego, is back in the spotlight, dissing his dimwitted owner Jon – even pilfering his pants. Some cats chase mice; Garfield prefers to take legal action. When down on the farm, the city kitty puts up with-and puts down-Jon and his barnyard brother. No wonder Garfield’s often in a bad mood.

But no matter what, he’s always in the mood for food!

The GARFIELD FAT CAT 3-PACK series collects the GARFIELD comic-strip compilation books in a new, full-color format. Garfield may have gone through a few changes, but one thing has stayed the his enormous appetite for food and fun. So enjoy some super sized laughs with the insatiable cat, because too much fun is never enough!

James Robert "Jim" Davis is an American cartoonist who created the popular comic strip Garfield. Other comics that he has worked on are Tumbleweeds, Gnorm Gnat, Slapstick, and a strip about Mr. Potato Head.

Jim Davis was born in Fairmount, Indiana, near Marion, where he grew up on a small farm with his father James William Davis, mother Anna Catherine (Carter) Davis, brother Dave, and 25 cats. Davis' childhood on a farm parallels the life of his cartoon character Garfield's owner, Jon Arbuckle, who was also raised on a farm with his parents and a brother, Doc Boy. Jon, too, is a cartoonist, and also celebrates his birthday on July 28. Davis attended Ball State University. While attending Ball State, he became a member of the Theta Xi fraternity. He earned the dubious honor of earning one of the lowest cumulative grade point averages in the history of the university, an honor incidentally shared with Late Show host David Letterman.

Davis as of 2007 resides in Muncie, Indiana, where he and his staff produce Garfield under his company, Paws, Inc., begun in 1981. He was married to Carolyn, a singer and elementary teacher whom he met while both were attending college, and has a son named James with her. However, the couple divorced, and Davis since 2000 has been married to Jill, Paws' senior vice president of licensing, who has worked there approximately 25 years.

Ironically, Davis did not own cats when he started Garfield because of Carolyn's allergies, but they owned a Labrador retriever named Molly. With Jill, the family has expanded to include children Ashley and Chris; three grandchildren, Chloe, Carly and Cody; cats, Spunky and Nermal; and a dog, Pooky.

This is entertaining and fun. Yes it is a bit predictable and some of the same gags are run over and over but you know what - it's still entertaining and I never get tired of it. It's perfect when I need something predictable and amusing. We see Garfield vs. Monday's, laziness, eating, dieting, sleeping, beating on Odie and/or Jon, occasionally working with Odie, Nermal, Garfields kind of girlfriend Arlene, Pooky and more. It's fun and great when you need something to smile or laugh at. I think part of Garfield's charm is in the familiarity of him and his life, so if you like Garfield, you'll like this.

Garfield Fat Cat 3-Pack Volume 3 contains the following Garfield books:

Garfield Sits around the House
Garfield Tips the Scales
Garfield Loses His Feet

Super funny comic book! I liked it immediately. Garfield is the main character and is a big fan of eating and sleeping and terrorizing the family dog, odie (as stupid as he looks or at least more so.) Garfield has some amazing tricks up his sleeve (at least if he had sleeves.) and some amazing laughs somewhere in there too.

How does one continue to review a collection of comic strips? They're funny. Garfield sort of has a girlfriend, he goes on a diet, the gags are all old and often reused. Yet I still laugh out loud when reading them, and it makes life better on days when I have to go to class in a blizzard.
