October has lived her life understanding that her purpose was to serve her husband, create a legacy, and place good upon the world. One night shook her world and now she must face the knowledge that nothing is perfect. With that reality comes a journey of self-discovery. Lessons that are learned as she awakens her desire to finally be free.
Nadine Frye was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. Coming from the inner-city never stopped her ability to dream big. Being raised in a large family, they used their creative minds to have fun making plays and songs and any other things they could dare to dream. In Nadine's younger years you could see her head inside of a book more often than experiencing the outdoors.
In her teen years, a personal tragedy unleashed a world of sadness and hurt only Her notebook could understand. Songs and poems poured from her soul, and for years it was to feel the relief from her heart. She began sharing small things with her close circle of friends. It was their motivation and that of her mother and sisters that she shared her talent with the world. That was the beginning of daring to dream.
She now resides in Washington, DC where she wears many hats including Mother and Wife and she graciously adds the cap of author to her line up.
Personal Quote
"Life is about evolving. Each day is a journey, each year is a teacher, and every lesson should be applied." -Nadine Frye
“Remember, tests and trials are just stepping stones to your breakthrough. Until we talk again, stay focused, be grateful and live freely.”
In a very short amount of pages, the author told a whole story full of heartbreak, infidelity, growth, and healthy love. My heart ached for October’s character; she was in an unfulfilling marriage that was doomed from the beginning. It sucked because she was content with that life. But then tragedy struck and the lies came out. It was really a blessing in disguise, else October would have never found true love, good D, and the family she yearned for. I loved Sunil’s character and what he brought to the table. This book has so many gems, I was highlighting so much. I truly enjoyed this story!!💙
Wow! Imagine for 18 years, you are in an arranged marriage where your husband treats you like a controlled servant. Won't even look you in the eyes in the marital bed. Turns you away from him during sex. Oh, you can't imagine that? Yeah me either! I would have been gone!!!
But it gets worse. The creep dies and at the reading of the will, his wife discovers he had a whole outside woman and two kids. Wait for it!!! His wife is asked to raise his surviving little girl. October's answer is the only thing I liked about this story.
It’s the parents audacity for me! Like lkyfl? I was completely outdone by them. I had to applaud her because baby she was one strong woman that was for sure. I lesser woman would have cracked under the pressure she was under! Outstanding
This story turned out to be so much more than I thought it would be. I was so devastated with the chain of events, but as the story unfolded, a whole new light was shown and tears, pain and happiness appeared.
