Orc Guardian Brides #3

Fated to the Orc

Rate this book
The orc warrior says I'm his... soulmate?

A long time ago, my father sold my sister to an orc. I haven't heard from her since, but I am determined to find her and bring her home. During my first week on the road north, however, I cross paths with a massively tall Orc Guardian who claims I'm his... fated mate.

Magnus the Wolf says I'm coming with him, and he won't take no for an answer.

Hm. Maybe getting kidnapped by a big, muscular orc who wants to marry me isn't the worst thing that could happen. After he brings me back to his clanlands, I can find my sister and we can flee the Orc Realm together. No looking back.

But the first time Magnus kisses me, the whole world fades and I find myself yearning for his touch. I also find myself wondering if maybe, just maybe, escape isn't the answer.

**4/5 stars**

This is not my favorite one in this series but it definitely comes close second. I liked the premise of this one the most out of the three that I've read. After the death of her mother, Lorna decides to leave her drunkard of a father behind to go find her sister who was sold to a Guardian Orc three years prior. On her way there, she meets Magnus the Wolf, a Guardian Orc convinced that she is his fated mate, a woman he'd dreamed about for the longest time.

I really liked Magnus. Like all the orcs in this series, he was protective, caring and devoted but also had a temper. I would've liked it to be more accentuated, for him to be more forward when trying to coax Lorna into accepting him as her mate, but overall, he was a good character. The fact that he recognized Lorna right away was actually very sweet. What really stood out about him was how most interactions with him felt intimate. The way he spoke conveyed a lot of feelings, desires and also a bit of cheekiness, which I always have a soft spot for. The thing with the orcs in this series is that they are super respectful towards the heroines. Of course, it's a good thing, but here, had he been more dominant, trying to prove to Lorna that they were meant to be together, I would've given this book a higher rating. Since he showed signs of potentially being a very dominant male, I sort of built up that expectation of him being more insistent...so I couldn't help but feel a little bit disappointed when he was being patient lol. BUT, I liked him nonetheless.

“Little beauty, if you move one more time,” came a sleepy voice, “I will tie you securely to the bed and keep you that way for the remainder of the night. I might even smack your bottom a few times.”-Magnus

As for Lorna, it took me a little bit of time to warm up to her. I liked that she put some resistance when it came to Magnus. The only thing that I wasn't fond of was that she started feeling things too early in my opinion. Not one day together and she already felt the pull. I wished she'd been more focused on finding her sister longer, ignoring Magnus and his attempts at seducing her. I think the dynamic would've been a bit more sizzling that way. Overall though, she was a pretty solid heroine. She was sweet but also strong and capable. I could also easily empathize with her past traumas.

Ah, she looked just as she did in my dreams—flowing golden hair, stark blue eyes, and a light covering of freckles on her nose and cheeks. Her lips were full and pink, and there was a small thin scar on her chin. I’d dreamed of her in full detail, including the scar.
-Magnus

Even though their feelings evolved quickly, it took some time for them to become intimate other than second base. I would say this story was a bit on the slowish burn since they only consummated their marriage in the very last chapters. Normally, I would've complained about it, but I think here it made sense for them to wait so long, since as per orc tradition, the intimacy is the union, the marriage. I'll give it a pass just for that, but I just wished the scenes had been more diversified.

Light flurries began to fall, and Magnus eyed me speculatively before pulling a hat from his pack. He stepped in front of me, forcing me to halt in my steps, then he shoved the hat on my head. He playfully flicked my nose, right where the snowflake had fallen—apparently nothing escaped his notice.

The story was entertaining and it also felt like there was more action in this installment compared to the other two, from what I recall that is. I liked the characters, the premise and overall, the worldbuilding. I really enjoy the way the author portrays orcs in her this series. As always, showing a softer, more loyal side to orcs, and how caring they are of their brides/mates. The way she describes them is also physically very appealing.

This is the last book in the series and I have no idea if there will be more in the future but if there are more coming, I will most definitely read them. And to end this review:
Would I recommend this book? Absolutely. If you are looking for a sweet orc-human romance with some action, low angst and nice pacing, this is for you!

enjoyable

This was a good, safe Orc romance with double virgins. It wasn’t as good as the first two in the series tho and there’s no epilogue, which was a letdown.

No others, sharing, cheating or abuse of any kind between the MCs. There’s on page violence and gore when the hero saves the heroine and fights her prospective attackers. He also fights another enemy later in the book. HEA but no epilogue and no babies

the words for female genitalia really threw me

I read the first 2 in this series so I knew what to expect. But reading “nubbin” for clit and “cunny” for pussy really took me out of the scenes. I skipped the one sex scene and the book was light and sweet besides that. I liked the resolution but it was very fast and a little forced at the end. And why no epilogue for this book? The other two had them. . . Also do his brother and Freya and their kids just live forever and watch their cousins and uncles and shit die? The difference in length of lifetimes threw me too. But not bad at all. Very sweet.

Yeah, should not have been surprised to see "cunny" and "nubbin" reappear. Very confused about the time period this is supposed to be taking place in since there was talk of bras and boning.

“Fated to the Orc” is the third book in the series “Orc Guardian Brides” from Sue Mercury. A beautiful series and this book is no exception. The romance is charming, exciting, an erotic love story with plenty of heart, surprises, danger and twists and turns, as we follow the characters through an emotional path.
This is the story of Magnus, an ORC Warrior and Lorna. Magnus knew he would meet his mate and when he saw Lorna, he recognized her, as his mate and was determined to keep her with him and win her heart. Lorna was tough and was not interested in developing a relationship with any male. She left her home with one goal! To find her sister who had been sold to an Orc, bring her home and settle in a place where they could live on their own. As she traveled alone, she realized it isn’t safe and decided to travel with Magnus since he was going in the same direction and Oh, yes -he wouldn’t let her travel alone. LOL She decided that once she found her sister, they would leave. Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans? They sometimes go astray….
I am enjoying this book. Sue Mercury has a talent for writing a smart and easily engaging a blend of drama, action, intense emotions and adventure.
I have enjoyed each book in the series. I have especially enjoyed this couple. The characters were well developed and the storyline flowed smoothly. I definitely recommend reading, you won't be disappointed.

The third and (maybe?) final book in the series and I enjoyed it very much! All 3 of these books have been simple, easy and quick to read. The plots were all similar but they were straight to the point and nothing fancy. They’re fun and good to pass the time with.

This book we follow Lorna and her Orc mate Magnus the Wolf. They are destined for each other, they are the definition of Soulmates. Magnus had been dreaming of Lorna for years, and when he spots her being cornered by a gang of humans he takes action into his own hands and saves her. From there on he claims she is his and that he’ll take her back to his clan. Lorna on the other hand didn’t plan for this, she is looking for her sister Hilda who’s been missing for 3 years. The last she saw of her sister was when an Orc came and took her away from the family home.
Our couple embark on their adventure, like the previous books and tension blossoms and angst flows. Again, our couple are both virgins which I find adorable and that’s not just one half the virgin.
Magnus like his brother Thorsen and cousin Gregor is a devoted sweetheart to his bride. He is loving, caring, passionate. Lorna is a lucky lady that’s for sure.

Overall I’ve enjoyed the whole series and as the whole experience I would give it 5 stars. For this book though it’s another 4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I do recommend to anyone who is wants a cute, simple romance between Orcs and humans. 👌🏻

- 29 chapters (no epilogue but HEA)
- dual POVs

Touching!

Lorna has been waiting for her mother to pass so she could escape her drunken father. As soon as her mother is buried she sneaks out in the middle of the night to go look for her sister, Hilda. Her father sold Hilda three years before to an Orc for drinking money. She is determined to find her and help her escape so they can be together. After a week on the road she is attacked by five highwaymen. She is sure she is going to die when they finish with her. But suddenly she is rescued by a huge Orc.

Magnus has been dreaming of his fated mate since he was a boy. He never dreams he would find her in the middle of the forest being attacked. He quickly dispatches the five men but Lorna has run off into the forest. He has no trouble finding her but convincing her to trust him and that she is his mate is not quite so easy!

Lorna is not so sure about being Magnus mate, but when she finds out he is heading home to the Orc Realm she agree’s to go with him so she can find her sister. The journey North is long and hard and fraught with danger, but Magnus does his best to protect her. As the journey lengthens Lorna is drawn closer and closer to Magnus. Can she really leave him when she finds her sister?

A great book and Magnus will steal your heart!

Can an orc be whimsical? To be honest despite the fact that he can pretty much chop any enemy in two proving that his muscles are not just for show, Magnus is very much a dreamer. He believes that he has dreamt of his fates mate for most of his life and will not accept anyone else. His brother and cousin despair of him but he knows. A chance scream brings her right before him but the circumstances that they first meet under are less than ideal. Still he holds faith that she will recognise who he is to her and who she is to him. Lorna has been hanging on by a thread for a very long time. The last time she had any idea was safety was just before her father sold her sister to a huge orc who threw a screaming Hilda over his shoulder and walked off with her. She has nursed her mother as best she could over the next three years until her death a week ago. To the last turning a blind eye to the beathings he gave his daughter. Now Lorna is done. She's leaving now, right now and she is off to save herself and her sister. Well that's alright as plans go until she is overpowered by highwaymen en route who have less than pleasant plans her and the next thing a great green orc is charging in and slaying them all. She not sure who she fears more the highwaymen or the orc, especially when he starts spouting about them being fates mates. Maybe he's taken one to many blows to the head......

A simply splendid addition to this wonderful series, great characters and story
Fated To The Orc is the third book in the wonderful series of this series and I guarantee tant like me once you begin reading the book you will not be able to put it down until you reach the actual finalization of the book and discover the outcome.
Magnus is the Orc Guardian who had dreamed of locating his mate and when he does to be able to settle down and finally if he is really fortunate be able to settle down with her, be happy and maybe if it’s meant to happen start a family.
Lorna crosses paths with magnus as he actually comes to her rescue and as she spends time getting to know this giant of a man realises that his kindness is far more than only skin dee and as a careful individual is determined to ensure he really does want to be her partner, her carer and protector for the rest of their days.
I do not want to spoil the plot so will say no more about the three of them, I assure you that you will enjoy every single moment of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Lorna wasn’t going to take the abuse her father had been inflicting on her. With her mother gone, she was going to find her sister Hilda and safe her from the orc. But her journey isn’t as easy as she thought. She is saved by an orc. Magnus couldn’t believe that he had found the human in his dreams. His fated mate. He would love and protect her and even go on her journey with her to find her sister. Lorna’s father was a piece or work. Thank goodness she found freedom. With Magnus on the journey, they both learn a lot about each other. His bond to her was strong it was just Lorna’s fighting the pull that took longer. With human’s following close behind, it was a rough journey. But they made it to the Orc Realm. And Lorna found her sister. There were tears of joy and a great sigh for all those Orcs that found love.

Fated to the Orc is the third book in the Orc Guardian Brides series - they are standalone stories but characters from the first two books do make a reappearance. Magnus (H) is an Orc Guardian who's been searching for and dreaming of his fated mate for many years. Lorna (h)needs to get to the Orc Realm to find her older sister. Their paths cross and Magnus recognizes her immediately, though Lorna doesn’t have quite the same reaction. They'll have to face challenges and dangers as they try to reach the Orc Realm, all the while their emotions and sexual attraction are building. This story will give you action, adventure, romance, and a hot good time all in one book as Lorna and Magnus reach for their HEA.

It's the last book in this series although a holiday update on all the couples would be a book I would buy. Lorna's goal is to find her sister in the Orc Realm. Magnus is done with his ten years as an Orc Guardian so now he will look for his mate who he has been dreaming about for years. He finds Lorna as five evil men have her surrounded. He quickly takes care of them then runs to find Lorna. She is a little worried since Magnus says she is his mate but Lorna can't forget about her mission. As they continue their travel to the Orc Realm, they talk and get to know each other. Lorna now feels the pull of the mate bond. Fortunately, after some issues with some human soldiers, they get to the Orc Realm and find her sister and their happily ever after!

Lorna and Magnus’ story is a sweet romance, with the feel of fantasy fairy tale. Lorna is escaping an abusive father and, on a quest, to rescue her sister he’d sold to an Orc, a savage being, or so she’d always heard. So, when she’s rescued by Magnus from highwaymen and told she’s his fated mate, she doesn’t know what to think. He challenges everything that she thinks she know about Orcs and makes her feels things. He threatens to derail her quest. It’ a charming and romantic story. Very entertaining.

This is the third book in the Orc Guardian Brides series and we have Magnus and Lorna's story. When Lorna decides to find her sister who was sold to the orcs, she is attached, and Magnus saves her. He immediately recognizes her as his fated mate and decides to help her find her sister, in the hopes Lorna will see they are fated to. The book is well paced, characters were compelling, plenty of action, sizzle, and steam. I love the idea that the Orc Guardian earn their brides and work hard to deserve them. An awesome addition to this series.

I received an ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest review.

If This is a Dream

I loved it. Lorna runs away from her abusive father after her mother dies. But on her way to find her sister she is accosted by highway men who plan on raping her. How fortunate that her fated mate, an Orc named Magnus the Wolf hears her scream and rushes in to save her. But Lorna has been raised on lies about the Orc and doesn’t believe in fated mates. Their journey to the Orc Realm is full of adventure, danger and longing as Lorna finales the pull of her mate bond. It was romantic and sweet and another exciting and enjoyable addition to this series.

This is a wonderful story. I enjoyed reading it so much. Lorna runs from her abusive father after her mother dies, determined to find her sister. When she meets Magnus she is in trouble and he saves her. Magnus takes one look at Lorna and knows she is his fated mate. Both of these characters are great. You have to love them. I was very happy with the ending and am hoping there are more Orc books coming.

Fated to the Orc

Lorna stealthily packed supplies and a large knife but her drunken father came home and threatened her. She gathered up her courage and outrage and knocked him on his drunken butt. Lorna left and the rest is meeting Magnus and how it came about.
