Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a leading public health problem worldwide. It has been estimated to affect about 13.4% of the population. In the United States, about 40 million people suffer from CKD. But there are not many effective treatments for this disease. Yet, there are healthy remedies for kidney disease that are unknown to the people with CKD. A diet low in protein and phosphorus is usually one that is plant-based. This is a good kidney disease diet but is not commonly promoted. Rather, in the US and many western countries, people grow up being taught that they must eat lots of meat to be healthy. But meat and meat products can be detrimental to kidney health (as well as heart health). We emphasize this fact in this book with scientific studies to back the claim. Drinking enough water is essential to kidney health and wellness but it is not always emphasized. This award-winning book shows readers not just that drinking water is good for your kidneys, but how. It also shows how certain common vitamins, teas and herbs can help improve kidney function and halt and even reverse CKD to help avoid dialysis. Relevant published studies are provided for proof and further reading.
An informative book. A must! Reverse chronic kidney disease: How to improve kidney function and avoid dialysis by Yaw A. Boateng is informative and a must-read. It's universally acknowledged that water keeps our kidneys healthy, but there are people out there that do not enjoy solely drinking water. This book shows the variety of beverages, aside from water, that are helpful for kidneys such as teas or home-made juices. The author also mentions that meat also has some side effects on people's kidneys. The author includes information related to a mixture of food, particularly vegetables, that may help people with kidney problems, highlighting the properties of ginger, for example. Also, there is detailed information connected to the diseases that also affect kidneys and the way people can lessen their effects. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in taking control of their health. What sets this book apart is its concise and interesting approach to discussing various diseases and how to prevent or mitigate them. The technical terms are explained in a way that's easy to understand, and each chapter includes a helpful summary to ensure the main points are clear. The book also provides reliable and supplementary information on the importance of vitamins and proteins in achieving optimal nutrition. The author's detailed descriptions of the nutritional properties of fruits and vegetables are both fascinating and inspiring, making it easy to adopt a more conscientious diet. The evidence-based approach, with references to studies conducted in the USA and elsewhere, adds credibility to the book's recommendations. After reading this book, I was motivated to explore healthy recipes and incorporate more nutrient-rich ingredients into my meals. This proactive approach to healthy living can help prevent the need for dialysis and other medical interventions. In short, "Healthy Living" is an enlightening read that I highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their overall well-being.

This informative guide not only provides solutions for people with kidney problems but also offers valuable insights for anyone looking to improve their overall health and lifestyle. The book also provides detailed information on the physiology of the kidney, which is key to engaging in the healing process. Whether you are looking to prevent or reverse chronic kidney disease, this book offers valuable information that will help you achieve optimal kidney health.
With years of experience managing CKD patients, the author demonstrates that he has applied the techniques highlighted in this book to improve the conditions of his patients. Another characteristic that makes this book unique is how there are several details on how the physiology of the kidney works. This information is not easily found, and it is key to engaging in the healing process. Dr. Yaw Ababio Boateng is the man to talk about these issues, due to his vast career and studies in the area.
I found this book of great help to improve my lifestyle. I was having some problems as regards my kidney function, but nothing too serious. I went to the doctor and did everything he told me to. However, I was not feeling well enough. In one of the appointments, the doctor suggested making a change in my diet, but not only for a while to feel better. He suggested making a change in my whole eating habits. He recommended some authors, but none of them had the impact that Dr Yaw had on me. When having a quick look at the book I become more interested in it than I was after reading other books completely. After getting deep in Dr Yaw’s work I confirmed my feeling, this book is the best in the subject. I highly recommend it!
Whether you’ve only just been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, have lived with it for years, suspect you may have it, or want to find out more about this health condition, Yaw A. Baoteng’s book Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease is a must-read and a valuable resource to come back to. The author has a qualified medical background and specializes in kidney disease, which means he brings tons of relevant knowledge to this resource book.
Although chronic kidney disease can seem frightening and may require serious and costly medical intervention, the good news is that, according to Boateng, the symptoms of CKD can be managed and even, in some cases, reversed through natural, non-pharmaceutical treatments.
Boateng presents, among other things, a plant-based, low-protein diet to manage kidney disease, along with anti-oxidants and toxin-absorbing natural substances such as ginger root and activated charcoal. Stinging nettle, dandelion root, and many other plants can assist in alleviating chronic kidney disease in unexpected ways. Some of the herbs and plants he recommends may be easier to access and more cost-effective for some people. There are plenty of different options, so if you are not able to access a particular natural remedy, you have a lot of alternatives to choose from.
What I appreciate about Boateng’s book is that he provides sources and clinical studies to back up his advice. He also explains why medical practitioners often do not prescribe natural medicine and includes a section addressing medical practitioners directly. I like his balanced approach and advocacy for a combined use of natural medicine along with more conventional medical treatment where needed. He does not advocate rejecting conventional medicine, but rather working with your doctor to find the best path for you.
Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease: How to Improve Kidney Function and Avoid Dialysis, by Yaw Boateng, is jam-packed with information and makes a convincing case for the use of natural remedies in the treatment of CKD. This is an excellent resource.
Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease, by author Yaw A. Boateng, offers a comprehensive approach to kidney disease and complete information with the aim of improving kidney function and avoiding dialysis. From the formal definition of chronic kidney disease (CKD) to detailed information about truly evidence-based medicine, this book masterfully delves into all aspects of kidney health. I especially liked two aspects of this author’s perspective. First, the advice is practical and easy to understand. The remedies, their qualities, and their uses are clearly proposed and explained. For example, the passages that explain how to drink adequate amounts of pure water and its benefits are written clearly and offer a possibility of simple and easy improvement. Secondly, the author provides proof of the veracity of each piece of information, as he gives specific references to sources. I think this is a very responsible and sensible approach, as it deals with health issues. Not all health books utilize this approach, and it is a very valuable tool for readers. Both points make this book an excellent read for those who suffer from kidney problems since it responsibly addresses the disease with well-founded information and wise advice for improvement. It also recommends consulting all aspects with the corresponding physician, and not making unilateral decisions. Additionally, the author presents an interesting hypothesis that states that excessive meat consumption can be detrimental to health, not only of the kidney but also of the heart and general health. He proposes a healthier plant-based diet, but this is not totally exclusive. I appreciated the various options offered by Dr. Boateng. All in all, Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease, by author Yaw A. Boateng, is an informative volume that can truly help in improving kidney function and halt and even reverse CKD and help readers avoid dialysis. I liked the book very much and will surely recommend it to family and friends.
Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease, by Yaw Boateng, takes a deep dive into what kidney disease is and how it can be managed and even reversed. The most interesting thing is that the author writes it in a relatable way, which doesn't require extensive medical knowledge or background. Boateng focuses on how lifestyle and healthy choices can help us make more informed decisions which, in turn, can save us the trouble of suffering from the ailments that come with kidney disease.
Hospitals and the healthcare system don't do a good enough job of informing and educating patients about the root cause of their chronic ailments, and this book deconstructs the limited and mainstream perception of kidney disease. I appreciate the way Boateng encourages readers to avoid the hassle of future bills and health-related ailments by taking a step forward into educating themselves and sprucing up their diet and lifestyle.
Kidney dialysis is a tough route to take, but before it becomes the only option, it's important to reassess everyday choices. The author does a fantastic job of explaining how even the smallest of changes can make a huge difference when it comes to the maintenance and well-being of our kidneys. The relatable language and vocabulary used by the author will make it easy for readers to see that a proactive approach and informed mindset are the way to go. Instead of relying on the generic information provided by doctors, patients need to understand the root causes and possible solutions that could help improve their health in the long run.
If you're someone who wants to improve their health and keep their kidneys in a good state, then Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease, by Yaw Boateng, is an informative and enjoyable read for you. I think it could be a great addition to anyone's library because it acknowledges the struggle and solution for a condition that many people suffer from throughout the world. This could be part of your collection of health genre books.
Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease is a quite delightful and interesting book written by Dr. Yaw Ababio Boateng. The author spent many years of his life treating and researching CKD, and the material he included can go a long way toward allaying the fears of anyone suffering from the effects of kidney disease. Boateng’s book is a goldmine of up-to-date information from beginning to end. Divided into 12 chapters, Boateng’s book is complete and organized. After each chapter, the reader can find a summary of the topics covered in the previous pages–a great detail that helps readers give the chapter a quick re-read. Kidney disease is on the rise and is a silent killer. It’s more than important to read a piece of work with such vital content to take care of our health. In my personal experience, it gives me not only a sense of direction but the reassuring knowledge that I am not alone. Boateng’s book offers detailed explanations of the causes of the disease and helpful tips for people who want to keep from being on dialysis. With regards to the narrative, Yaw has written about something incredibly complex in a readable and relatable way–a remarkable achievement! The appendices are full of invaluable details such as the suggested protocols for treating the disease naturally and the myths surrounding them. One of the things that I liked most about this book is that it’s an easy read for any level of knowledge, which means anyone can enjoy it. I also found it beneficial that the author cited some sources to look for extra information in case readers want to do self-study. I highly recommend Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease, by Dr. Yaw Ababio Boateng. Readers will find Boateng’s book an incredibly worthwhile and readable tool. Let me say that this title is very educational and deserves more publicity.
Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease: How To Improve Kidney Function And Avoid Dialysis by Yaw A Boatengis an important resource for the families and those affected by chronic kidney disease. This is true for someone in my immediate family, and I found this help book a good resource for understanding kidney health for myself and for supplying suggestions I can give to them. I liked this guide because it explained kidney health in depth for those who hadn’t had that explanation from their doctor, or who like myself don’t understand anything about kidney function. Beyond this, the author provides tips for improved kidney health and the improvement and even reversal of chronic kidney disease symptoms that I hadn’t heard of. Rather than making claims without basis, Boateng also gave ample researched information about each of these remedies, which makes me more comfortable bringing them up and explaining them to family members. For example, I’ve heard that ample water is key (which is true, Boateng confirms) but I hadn’t heard anything about different supplements that can be taken, and the benefits of certain herbs. More than anything, I appreciated Boateng’s acknowledgment of how chronic kidney disease is typically approached by my doctors widespread (with medication) and the lack of willingness to suggest natural medicine. I agree that natural medicine, especially through self-treatment, needs to be approached carefully, but that’s why guides like Boateng’s chronic kidney disease reversal guide are important. Boateng’s tone and writing style make his explanations easy to follow, and a summary at the close of each chapter is included which helped me refresh before starting the next chapter. I recommend this book to those afflicted with chronic kidney disease, or anyone wanting to understand kidney function and how to protect their health in the long run.

I have many loved ones suffering from CDK, and to watch them suffer is terrifying. As in the field of science myself, I find this guide to be complete and detailed in various critical information. It is quite important for healthy people too to understand CDK so that they can take measures themselves at this moment in time so their future self will be thankful. The author has provided information relevant to published studies.
The author has covered a number of issues such as the problem of CDK and ways to reverse it with just diet and other various helpful condiments such as activated charcoal, ginger root, and turmeric. Also included is the role antioxidants play, the importance of vegetables and herbs, and omega-3 fatty acids benefits. The author has concluded by debunking various myths about natural treatments in CDK. The author is straightforward, and I understood everything clearly in his framework. This is a must-have and a great recommendation to loved ones whether they suffer from CDK or without as a great source of knowledge. I give it 5 stars with a high recommendation.
In 2021 the CDC reported that 1 in every 7 adults have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) , 2 out of 5 adults with severe CKD do not know they have it until it's too late. Dr. Yaw A. Boateng’s Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease: How To Improve Kidney Function And Avoid Dialysis, is a great resource to lower those numbers before it's too late.
The book is divided into 12 well-put chapters from explaining what CKD is to the herbal medicine that can possibly replace your pharmaceutical medication. Dr. Boateng also presented the risk factors of CKD like ancestry, obesity, smoking, family history, age and other factors. The importance of a functioning kidney was well described in this book. The good doctor has an unbiased approach to the disease, while also presenting the benefits of natural medicine, he also presents the benefits of pharmaceutical medication.
I do have family members who are suffering from this disease and knowing that we can always turn to a natural way of ameliorating kidney function is great news. I learned that certain vitamin supplements can improve kidney functions, and herbs, vegetables and spices can not only help in digestion but also improve renal and kidney functions. I have heard a lot about the benefits of activated charcoal and knowing how it can clean the kidney is amazing. 65 % of the general population in the US, is a visual learner so it would really help if there are graphs and visual representation of the data added to the book. The book is well-researched and packed with so much data.
Dr. Yaw A. Boateng’s Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease: How To Improve Kidney Function And Avoid Dialysis, has educated me not only in terms of prolonging and improving the quality of life of people suffering from CKD but the alternatives to possibly reversing the disease.
I wish I’d read the book earlier; well, it's never too late. I'm in awe of how simply we may prevent and treat chronic kidney disease with the brief home remedies and therapies Dr. Yaw outlined in this book. The therapeutic approach utilized in hospitals is different from that of the book, but it is not in conflict with it. In addition to patients and regular individuals, Doctors can also benefit from the book "Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease." Dr.Yaw briefly explained how conventional and unconventional ways may work in harmony and how individuals can benefit from both.
The book focuses on avoiding high-cost kidney dialysis and provides you with natural remedies and therapies for preventing and reversing chronic kidney diseases. In this modern era of medical science, many myths arise around natural remedies. But I loved the fact that Dr. Yaw scientifically debunked all the myths in the book as well. Why wouldn't my doctor prescribe me the remedies if they were effective? It makes sense that most medical schools do not teach these, and not every physician wants to spend time researching further. I appreciate the research and the dedication Dr. Yaw made to this book. It will certainly help in educating a large number of people about Chronic Kidney disease.
Most times, conventional methods just tend to mask the disease and not cure it from the root, but in this book, dr. Yaw illustrated how controlled diets and remedies could significantly change the overall health of our organs. Instead of drugs with side effects, the book educates us to take the best from mother nature. This book is essential reading if you want to take good care of your kidneys. You will undoubtedly wish you had read the book earlier.
Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease, by Yaw A Boateng, is a fantastic resource for anyone with chronic kidney disease. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) occurs when your kidneys no longer function properly to keep you healthy. This is a long process that usually occurs over the course of months or years. It is an irreversible process. However, if it is diagnosed early, applying the appropriate treatment or introducing certain lifestyle changes can slow down or, in some cases, stop the progression of the disease.
Boateng goes to great lengths to provide readers with everything they need to move forward in this process. Using studies to back up his work, the author demonstrates how common vitamins, teas, and herbs can help improve kidney function, stop and even reverse CKD, and help you avoid dialysis.
This book emphasizes the importance of drinking water, something that is not always pointed out as important. If you are one of the people who drinks little water during the day, in addition to becoming dehydrated, you can develop an acute kidney disease that will cause the sudden cessation of the purifying functions of the kidney as adequate blood volume does not reach this important organ of our body. I am one of those people who finds it difficult to drink water during the day. This book made me realize how important it is to drink water.
I recommend Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease, by Yaw A Boateng, to kidney patients, their families, caregivers, and all health personnel who want to understand a little more about the concerns, feelings, and daily lives of kidney patients. It is a wonderful book to consult because it contains answers to many of the daily questions that worry kidney patients. A must-have for anyone seeking to live a healthy lifestyle!
Yaw Boateng, the author of Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease: How To Improve Kidney Function And Avoid Dialysis, is a doctor who did his residencies in internal medicine and nephrology. He also has a Ph.D. in clinical pharmacology and is currently a university professor. In his book, he offers a lot of information about CKD and how food can be a key point for its improvement and prevention. As a medical student, this is a problem that really interests me. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an illness that affects many people all over the world, and although in our profession we are taught the importance and seriousness that it can have, socially it is not very widespread. For that reason, I like books like this. I think it is very important that everyone can access this information easily. The book ranges from statistical data on the incidence of this disease in the world to information that breaks with urban myths such as the fact that it is necessary to eat a lot of meat to be healthy. I think that the nature of the author's teaching is demonstrated here. He was able to explain many medical concepts in a simple way without losing the use of certain specific terminology. Also, at the end of each chapter, there is a good summary that highlights the information provided. I must say that I appreciate Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease, by Dr. Yaw A. Boateng, because it provides very useful information in a less structured way, making it easy to read. I honestly recommend it for everyone: people who suffer from CKD can improve the symptoms and some can even reverse the disease. On the other hand, people who are not sick, who perhaps do not even think about this disease, can become aware and avoid consequences in the future. It is a must-read!
Whether you have personally been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease or know someone who has suffered from this issue, this book is a must read. The author offers impressive medical information and advice for those struggling with the condition and how to best handle the side effects. Due to his thorough medical background and experience in working in clinical settings, the author’s insight is not only useful and well-presented but is also impressive and something to take into consideration when reading through this book. It’s important for everyone suffering from chronic kidney disease tohave all the information possible in order to manage their condition and deal with the symptoms and side effects. This guide written by Dr. Yaw Ababio Boateng is professionally presented and gives readers the necessary information that they could need to make informed decisions regarding their health and how they need to move forward with their prognosis. If you are suffering from chronic kidney disease, it’s worth taking the time to read Dr. Yaw’s book and educate yourself on the benefits of avoiding dialysis, if possible, but most importantly, at least have the necessary information in order to keep yourself educated and informed on the path. Although I have never personally dealt with any severe kidney issues, my mother ended up losing one of her kidneys several years back due to a severe case of kidney stones and a possibility of oncoming kidney disease. I still feel like if she had been more informed and made some decisions for her own health by doing some research, she could have likely been able to save that kidney and live and healthier lifestyle. Take the doctor’s advice and give yourself an opportunity to advance your education when it comes to your health.
Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease is a very interesting book written by Yaw A. Boateng, MD, Ph.D. It is addressed to people who are suffering from this chronic disease that, as the author explains, is characterized by a long-term, progressive loss of kidney function. In this book, readers will find clear and useful advice to treat this disorder and improve their lives. The writer explains and describes the possible causes of such an illness as well as a series of natural and holistic treatments. The purpose of such treatments is to avoid dialysis. The methods proposed by the author are sensible and easy to follow, like drinking more water or eating a plant-based diet. The important thing about this book is that the author explains how these changes should be incorporated into our lifestyle to obtain the highest benefits. I really liked this book. It is short and concise, and its format invites the reader to go back and read it over and over again and to look for specific information quickly. Another thing that I find remarkable is that all the concepts which the book portrays are well supported and developed through facts, the writer’s personal experiences, and his vast knowledge of the subject. Throughout the book, suggestions and advice are short and to the point, incorporating easily understandable steps to follow that bolster the book’s appeal. The book is conversational, thoughtful, and peppered with insightful explanations and descriptions of the topics. I highly recommend Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease, by Dr. Yaw Ababio Boateng, to anyone who would like to improve their health and live a better life.
Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease: How To Improve Kidney Function And Avoid Dialysis is a very complete book written by Dr. Yaw Ababio Boateng. Throughout its 12 chapters, the author explains everything from what this disease is to how different vitamins and antioxidants can help alleviate the effects of chronic kidney disease. Dr. Yaw, who completed his medical degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology School of Medical Sciences in Kumasi, Ghana, explains everything necessary about CKD in a simple and easy-to-read format.
I would like to say that I learned a lot from reading this book. One of the things I liked most was how the author begins by explaining the disease and then addresses different questions related to the subject in question. Another interesting thing about this book is that at the end of each chapter the author includes a summary of what was discussed, which I think is a great quick-reference tool for readers.
Another helpful aspect of Boateng’s work is the addition of two appendices. In one, he includes myths to be debunked about the disease, and in the second presents a protocol to follow to treat CKD naturally. Both appendixes are of great help to continue learning and understanding this disease.
Without a doubt, I recommend Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease: How To Improve Kidney Function And Avoid Dialysis by Dr. Yaw Ababio Boateng. Not only does the author provide readers with accurate and precise information, but he also explains complicated information in ways that make readers/patients feel supported and understood. Definitely 5 stars for this book!
Chronic Kidney Disease is a health issue that affects many people worldwide.
Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease: How to Improve Kidney Function and Avoid Dialysis, by Yaw Boateng, is a research book that provides relevant published studies (as evidence) regarding the things (foods and vitamins mostly) that can improve your kidney's lifespan and health. The book provides various explanations of what CKD is, the kidney's function, the stages of CKD, its dangers, the myths behind what is meant to be healthy for CKD patients, and how you can treat it for improvement.
One of the things I appreciated most is the extensive use of studies and research used (detailed in the bibliography). In addition, a series of bullet points at the end of each chapter are displayed with the given concepts and important information from the previous chapter, These are particularly useful in reviewing the chapter in quick re-reads.The author also shows ways to naturally improve CKD and names the different natural resources we have on hand that can speed the improvement of CKD.
I am really impressed by this book. It has shown me both technical and non-technical terms of CKD, given me an understanding of this disease with excruciating detail, and I feel more enlightened in the medical field. It surely isn't a humorous book, but it will guide you on an instructional journey to improving your lifestyle. Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease is a fundamental book for people who are suffering from this condition or people who have a relative or friend diagnosed with it.
Yaw Boateng explains in his book how this disease works and how it can be mitigated. There are many factors to consider and the author shares this with his readers. There's hope for people willing to do what's necessary, this book explains in detail how food impacts our body, and what and how we should consume it. Another key element is prevention since this disease can be a secondary effect caused by hypertension, diabetes, and certain types of drugs considered nephrotoxic.
Kidneys are crucial for life, as they filter all the blood in our body and take the waste and extra fluid out of our system, working side by side with the liver. But this is just the most popular function, there's a lot more kidneys do for us!The author shares valuable information that will help readers to better understand what is happening, how to prevent it, and, in some cases, cure it. The content is written crystal clear, it's a book that starts easy and builds up to more challenging concepts, so it's necessary to pay attention at all times.
Overall, great work from Mr. Boateng, I consider this book really helpful! My diet is far away from perfect, I hardly drink water and eat protein but after reading this book I will be making some healthy changes. I recommend checking with the doctor as soon as possible if you start feeling any of the symptoms explained in this book, getting a correct and early diagnosis is extremely important.

It offers scientifically proven ways to slow the progression of the disease. This book has so much information. I like the different protocols ;the helps for different stages of Chronic Kidney Disease ( CKD) . Diet can play a very important part, especially for me. I just finished reading this book and found hope that I can finally understand how to implement these changes.
I found this book to be very helpful. When I got CKD the doctors did not tell me all of this. Their main advice is drink more water. That is just one of the many things to do.
Lots of practical, accessible ideas! A little academic with citing the studies but I appreciate the background. Now if I can only find a way to get activated charcoal pills at 10g... :)
