From New York Times & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Aurora Rose Reynolds comes a brand new romantic comedy about a girl who understands how short life is, and a man who quickly learns there are things way more important than money.
I had no idea that taking a temp job for the summer would send my life into a tailspin, but that’s exactly what happened when I started working for Jace Ellis. One day I was his secretary and the next I was sitting on his private plane, wearing an obnoxiously large engagement ring, after he asked me if I would pretend to be his fiancé for one week. I can admit that greed got the best of me. But the money he offered in exchange for my lie would help not only me, but my mom out tremendously. I just had no idea what I was actually getting myself into. I didn’t think about the fact that we would be sharing a bed, that we would have to pretend to like each other, and I sure didn’t know that I would be surrounded by his entire family at their annual family reunion. But if the guy want’s a fiancé, I’m going to be the best one he’ll ever have. I just hope I can remember that this isn’t forever; it’s for never.
Aurora Rose Reynolds is a New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author whose wildly popular series include Until, Until Him, Until Her, Underground Kings and Shooting Stars.
Her writing career started in an attempt to get the outrageously alpha men who resided in her head to leave her alone and has blossomed into an opportunity to share her stories with readers all over the world.
I had so much fun reading For nEver by Aurora Rose Reynolds. It was one of those books that I didn't want to put down. Jace and Penny don’t have the best first meeting. She is working as a fill in assistant for him to help her friend who is on maternity leave, but he needs her for something else. He needs a fake fiancé.
I love fake dating books. There is just something about them. Watching two people go from not really knowing each other all that well to falling hard. I absolutely loved all the scenes with Jace’s family. This book gave me the same feels as some of the earlier ARR books that I was obsessed with and the audio was great!
DNF @ 43% - I’m way too creeped out by the fact that the H has effed his sister in law. His very sweet and perfect ex, who he dated for 4 years and was engaged to, ran off with his twin brother… those two got their HEA and the H was jilted. And now the h gets to play happy families in that horrible situation FOREVER. Awesome. The H is so “Completely Over” his ex, that he was scared to go to the family reunion without a buffer (the h). The heroine wasn’t even his first choice as a fake fiancé. The hot girl he’d originally recruited got sick, so he forced his dumpy PA to go.
They don’t spend much time together. 90% of the time she’s with his family members, including his sainted ex. You know, the perfect one he boned for years and wanted to marry, and only didn’t marry her because she ran off with his TWIN. .. 😵💫 Coolcoolcool…
yeah this trope only works for me if the ex is an Evil Cackling Whore and is gonna make a permanent exit from their lives.
Besides being queasy over the situation, I was just bored. 🤷🏼♀️

Penny Beaver is a single, twenty seven year old woman who lives in Modesto where she teaches first grade. Her life takes a major turn when she agrees to fill in for a friend over the summer at a tech company. She's looking forward to making some extra money as a secretary to the owner. She hasn't worked in an office since college, but the temporary assistant position shouldn't be too hard. Then her new gorgeous, billionaire boss has a proposition for her. Jace Ellis needs her to pretend to be engaged to him for a week, and makes her an offer that's impossible to refuse. Suddenly her life is total chaos, and she's on a private jet on her way to his annual family reunion. One lie after another and soon the situation feels like it's spiraling out of her control. They are spending a lot of time together, and the chemistry between them isn't anything she's ever experienced before with anyone else. As pretending begins to feel too real, everything becomes complicated when she has to make sure she doesn't fall for her fake fiance.
For nEver by Aurora Rose Reynolds is a forced proximity, boss/employee, grumpy/sunshine, fake engagement, enemies to lovers romance full of humor, amazing chemistry, fabulous banter, family and love. This story is fantastic! I loved everything about it! I was hooked from the start and freaking adored Penny Beaver. It’s my favorite book I’ve read this year! Still thinking about these characters! <333
This had some cute moments, but once again not a favorite from ARR. I think I'm just made for her Until Him/Her series. I enjoy that instant connection and attraction from the BOOM and I was missing that here.
As I said before, we did get some cute moments here. While it took a while for me to feel any chemistry between Penny and Jace, once I did I enjoyed the story better. While I did like Penny's character, Jace fell flat for me. Nothing about him really stood out and he seemed to do a 180 one day about his feelings for Penny.
Related to that, maybe it was just the ARC copy but we didn't get a POV from Jace. While the titles had Penny's name on them, I kept hoping that we would get some chapters from Jace's POV. It would have made this much better for me, so we could have at least seen what was going on in his head.
They are in a fake relationship while Jace goes to his family reunion so I knew that going in would be a big part of the book However, I felt like Penny spent more time with Jace's family than him. We got a lot of day to day of all of the planned activities and I just would have enjoyed more time seeing them get to know each other better.
All in all, I found this book to be alright but definitely not the best I have read from ARR. I feel like most will enjoy this though so don't let me detour you.
This book is the most annoying book i ever read from this author. The hero own sister in law is HIS EX OF FOUR YEARS. His own freaking sister in law!!!!! LIKE WTF. WHAT THE ACTUAL FVCK IS THIS HORSE SH*T??! SO THE HEROINE HAVE TO BE WITH SOMEONE THAT HAS A HISTORY WITH HIS OWN SISTER IN LAW???!!! AND NOT TO MENTIONED A HISTORY OF S*X AS WELL FOR FOUR YEARS!!!
Like imagine being in a dinner table, the sister in law is like “yeah my vagina already feels their pen*s inside me” the hero and the hero’s brother 🥵🥵 LIKE SO FREAKIN EEWW. I hate when a couple that have something like that, like the hero’s sister in law or someone in the close circle is a ex. Damn if a guy that I’m dating have a sister in law that also is his ex girlfriend, I will leave him. Is just not right you know…
I know that’s before the heroine but to put that into a story i think is just really irritatingly annoying. NOT FREAKIN RIGHT!!!! BAD MOVE😥😥
And not only that, the whole story is freakin confusing and the chemistry is low. Like a freakin boring ass story especially with annoying characters that have to have a history like that💩🙄🙄🙄
First the heroine is covering her best friend’s job as a assistant in big company because her friend just had a baby. She also needed the extra money. When she first started her job on the first day, she meet with the boss. The boss is the hero. They had a talked about what the job have to do ect. And then a few days later, in the weekend on Saturday morning. The hero called the heroine in a urgent, he needed her to be in the airport. It was important he said. She pack her bags and go to the airport. When she meet the hero on his own private jet, the hero made a offer to her… The offer is to be his FAKE FIANCÉE FOR HIS FAMILY BECAUSE THEY’RE GOING TO HIS FAMILY IN WASHINGTON FOR A FAMILY GATHERING…. And that’s where the story begins….
‼️‼️‼️WHAT I DON’T LIKE ABOUT THE BOOK :
1. They supposed to have this family gathering right at the hero’s parents place in Washington, but almost every single day of the week that they supposed to be there, the hero only spends like three times with the family. AND MOST OF THE TIME, THE HEROINE HAVE TO SPEND TIME WITH HIS FAMILY…. LIKE LITERALLY GAMES, FISHING AND COOKING. Every single freakin thing. And the hero mostly work and work and work in that trip there to his parents place. He made his appearance so short and very little while they were staying there. LIKE WHAT THE ACTUAL FVCK???! 2. So the romance or “how they get to know each other” is the whole one week with his family on their trip there in Washington. Like okay, fun stuff right. I love reading their gatherings and festivals. BUT in that whole time the couple was there, they didn’t do a lot of fun things together. NOPE. My eyes always seeing the heroine doing fun things and more things to the hero’s freakin own family. The couple did have a moment together like couple of times, BUT IT’S LIKE ONLY FOUR TIMES. Most of the time, the heroine is always with his own family instead. And how is that even a chemistry there? That’s why i can’t feel the romance cause like, the fvck where? 3. When the hero’s cousin was spending time with the heroine and even taking care of the heroine when the hero is busy working, the hero got mad and said not to spend time with his cousin. He feels like the cousin is take a interest on her. THEN DON’T WORK!!! Omg so freakin childish hero it’s so annoying😓 4. The hero is a manwhor3. MANWHOR3. EVEN HIS FAMILY KNOWS ABOUT IT AND SAYS TO THE HEROINE LIKE COUPLE OF TIMES WHICH IS SO FREAKIN UNNECESSARY!! Damn if my future boyfriend’s family say things like that, I will immediately say goodbye😂 5. Like three times from the family members said to the heroine herself that “the hero dated someone and she is a model months ago” and “A few months? I thought you were dating that chick Anna a few months ago.”. Like wow okay. Annoying. Uh 🙄🙄 I just don’t like that at all….
I remember years ago i read a novel that the hero character was so famous in the small city for being manwhor3 that every single stores or restaurants that they go to, the people always asked the heroine why are you with him because he is a manwhor3 😂😂😂 and that happens like five to seven times 😆 I’m glad tho this book is not like what i just said but still. For people to asked the hero about stuff like that in front of the heroine is just annoying in my eyes and my freakin mind lol.
6. When the heroine said yes to the hero to be his fake fiancée for one week, the hero admits to hire someone else before he called the heroine for help. The girl he plans to hire had food poisoning so she cancels. Like okay. And then he said after the hero and heroine sort of dating, he admits that “But I knew the minute I saw her that I had to have her.”. But you asked someone else to be your fake fiancée to your own family for one week?!!! 7. The heroine is so freakin stupid, so clingy and not smart and not even wise. When the hero first touch the heroine and even pleasure her out of nowhere, the heroine didn’t asked where this is going and for the truth of what he is doing. And also the hero kept on going without even saying anything about his actions to the heroine. WTF?! The hero and heroine made a agreement before they flew to Washington that the whole fake fiancée is just for one week and then it’s over. But after one week and they about to fly over back home, the hero only said to the heroine: “I want you to stay with me.” JUST THAT. AND THEN THEY JUST STARTED THE RELATIONSHIP. No romantic words of what his actions and his feelings about the heroine. Nothing. Just that. Wtf. And the heroine? Said yes and yes to everything. Stupid b*tch. 8. The hero reveals what he feels to the heroine in the end of the book. Not in the beginning. Which made the whole book more boring than ever. The chemistry is freakin low!!!! I can’t feel it!!!
‼️‼️‼️No cheating, no separation, no virgins, it has om drama but not too much and NO OW drama, it had a pushing away from the heroine but not too much (just the beginning), the hero is a manwhor3 in the past and possessive but not too much, very hot smut scenes and happy ending. Married. The only POV is from the heroine….
(Even my writing about the safety is kind of short because how bored i am with the book😑😑😑😑) I’m disappointed with the author cause how boring this book from hers 😥😥 I never gave the author’s books two stars before, never!! Only this. For a good reason🙄🙄🙄
BORING 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽 IF YOU'RE BEING MEAN AND NEGATIVE ALREADY WITH A WARNING AND NOT BEING WISE TO ME, I WILL NOT ENTIRELY READ YOUR COMMENT AND REMOVE YOU EASILY AND FAST. I DO NOT TOLERATE NEGATIVE COMMENT SO KNOW YOUR PLACE, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I’m writing my disclaimer again here cause many negative people still don't get it or still be stupid enough not to understand my POV when I already write it so many times before. So here I am writing it again to you beautifuls human being😁😁 WHEN YOU READ MY LONG OR SHORT REVIEW, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WHAT I LIKE ABOUT A STORY AND CHARACTERS RIGHT... IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEN HERE IT IS: I LIKE A BOOK WITH VERY POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE, NO CHEATING, AND PLEASE NO MANWHOR3, NO MANY PUSHING AWAY, NO DOORMAT HEROINES, NO MANY OW DRAMA, NO S3X SCENE WITH SOMEONE ELSE. AND SAFE ALL THE WAY AND A HAPPY ENDING. Something that I don't like it very much if the hero or heroine have a crazy fvcked up personality and likes. Example: killing someone and let the heroine watch it all and push the heroine to lick all the blood of his victim and made her have to eat the meat of humans. and fvcks many woman in front of the heroine while telling her he loves her. I DON'T LIKE THAT TYPE OF SH*T AT ALL. That's just who I am, that's what I like and I don't like on a book. Maybe you love that, but I don't. We humans are different, we think very differently from one another. You have your likes and I have mine, you have your opinions and I have mine of my own. You think it's stupid of me to love such a book or to not love a book or to hate it whatever lol, I think it's bad you think that way cause I respect people's opinions cause I know for a fact we have our differences. YOU AND ME ARE DIFFERENT FOR PETE'S SAKE. I even have my own friends or people I follow here that shows how much they don't like the book I like, I never even give them a long comment or short Comment. Cause I respect their opinions. I don't like to give people I hard time here cause life itself is already hard enough. I do respect your opinion if you say my review is bad or whatever negative things about it, but in the end of the day I will not changed my mind about what book I dislike and how my thoughts about it. You can't tell me what to do. You can give me advice but it's me who decided to know what's right for me, this is my life and not yours. Read that again. Don’t assume things about me that is not even real, just don’t. cause when you do you’re more small minded for sure. You're thinking why I'm telling you all of this when you already know? Is because you still hating on my opinions and don't understand my POV and don't respect my POV. You think i like writing this disclaimer when obviously you're an adult already? no i personally think this is unnecessary... but because there are people out there who still don't get it *rolling my eyes*. Hopefully they or the people who read this disclaimer can use a beautiful thing called a brain:) AND WHEN YOU READ MY REVIEW, READ IT VERY CLEARLY TO SEE IF I FINISHED THE BOOK OR NOT. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. AND YES ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE. BUT IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M WRITING, THEN IT MEANS YOU UNDERSTAND IT ENOUGH. I DO NOT TOLERATE BULLYING, NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND MEAN WORDS. PLEASE USE A WISE WORDS SO WE DON'T ATTACK EACH OTHER. SIMPLY, I DON’T LIKE TO HAVE AN ARGUMENT WITH STRANGERS LIKE YOU CAUSE I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO😚 BUT IF YOU STILL WANT TO BE AMBER HEARD KARENS THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND MY DISCLAIMER AFTER I JUST WRITE IT DOWN, THEN GO ENJOY YOUR DAY AND GO AWAY. IT'S VERY EASY FOR A HUMAN COULD DO YA KNOW. IF YOU STILL HERE HATING ME OR ANNOYED WITH ME, THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM. NOT ME PROBLEM. HASHTAGS BURN😂😂 DON'T TAKE THINGS TOO PERSONALLY ON ONLINE CAUSE WE ALL A STRANGERS, WE NEVER EVER MEET. WE'RE ADULTS HERE SO LETS BE WISER. LAST, I BLOCK NEGATIVE PEOPLE! SO GET WELL SOON TO THE HATERS. HOPEFULLY YOUR HEART AND MIND WILL BE MORE POSITIVE 🙏🙏🙏 AND THIS DISCLAIMER MAY SEEMS LIKE TOO HARSH ON YOU BUT HEY I DON'T LIKE TO SUGAR COATED THINGS. I LIKE TO SAY TO THE POINT WITH MY UNDERSTANDING AND MY OWN THOUGHTS, CAUSE THAT'S HOW HUMANS ARE. WE ARE DIFFERENT REMEMBER👍 HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!
I have read a LOT of Aurora Rose Reynolds books and this one is my favorite!
LOVED IT!!!! ❤️
Thought it was cute how Jace was the one that needed a fake date, so Penny (his temporary assistant) gets a random call on a Saturday morning (@5:00 AM!! 😴) that he needs her to meet him at the airport......🛩🧳
Little does she know, she is signing on to be his fake fiancé for the week for a family reunion (of more than 100 people) 🫣😂😂😂
I fell for Jace when he helped her though her anxiety ❤️🫠😍🥰
I loved all the characters and would love to have another story set in this family's world soon 💕
Penny is doing her friend a favor and being the assistant to Jace and well first meetings it's chilly lol. We get some off page moments of her working for him and then our story starts with Jace calling Penny to meet him at the airport thinking it's work related it's not when he tells her the reason.
Be his fake fiance for a week with his family and he'll pay her. Penny does think it over but the money would help with bills so she says yes. I'll be honest it took me awhile to like Jace he didn't feel like a ARR hero he spent alot of time working even on this vacation didn't really spend time with his family. And when he got into a fight with his twin brother we didn't even get to see his pov on them going to a bar or any of Jace Pov. Which was sad. I thought maybe the drama would be the grandma but she was just a grump. Also Penny was always injured or something bad happened to her..
No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, sexy times, no virgins
Recommend-yes Cover-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Heat level-🌶🌶
Prologue Slowburnish 27h/30H Praise kink Safe sex Mentions of cancer Hea Epilogue
Boring. They fake a relationship, hang out with his family for a week and there are some shenanigans. No real jealous scenes that I’m used to from this author. What happened to her voice and books? They used to be so jp and great instalove. This was just blah
I love Aurora Rose Reynolds's writing style. Since reading Until November years ago , I have devoured pretty much everything she has written. This book was no exception.
This is a fun , sometimes sentimental , always passionate fake relationship romance and if you are looking for a book that provides some delicious escapism from the world , then I highly recommend this novel.
Jace is a rich , successful businessman who made his fortune in gaming. Penny is a teacher but for a few weeks in the Summer she is filling in for her friend as Jace's assistant to cover maternity leave.
Jace is handsome, rich , moody and demanding whilst Penny is loyal, funny and self deprecating. There is a definite Grumpy / Sunshine trope going on. Throw in a fake relationship , Jace's gorgeous family , an unexpected backstory and this book had me reading into the night.
HEA? Yes. Cheating ? No. Be aware - One of the secondary characters has gone through treatment for cancer -treatment is mostly complete and she is recovering really well.
I went into this book having absolutely no idea what to expect, I saw an ARR book and I was there. Then I started reading it and I was dying to know who the hero was. So I had to go check out the blurb and then I was excited to realise it was Jace (I was pretty sure it was but I didn’t want to get invested and then get a curveball).
From the start Jace had the growling, possessive thing going on and I was there for it. The entire plot was so cute, and I loved watching the relationship unfold between Jace and Penny. Everything about them together was perfect. Their chemistry was off the charts and yet they were also so cute and adorable.
Naturally it was well written, and the characters were great. I kind of wish we got Jace's point of view, but his actions made his feelings pretty clear. I couldn't put it down, I had to know what was going to happen next between them and how everything was going to play out. And I was so happy with how it did.
Very bland.. I couldn't get the connection from the characters at ALL.. YES the trope and setting are overused but I didn't mind it as much as I had the feeling of surface-level narration ... There is just so much stuff missing and I have to dnf because at this point even though it is a short book I am not pushing myself.
What had me falling in love with this book was Jace's family. A majority of the story takes place at a lake house where his 100+ family members come to for a family reunion.
I felt like I had just as much fun as Penny did as she got to know them and immersed herself in their activities. Don't get me wrong, I loved Jace and Penny as well, I just got most of my enjoyment from the family interaction.
Jace was a bit of a jerk in the beginning and I had a hard time reading him for most of the book, but I did love him by the end. Penny was a fun character and since we were in her thoughts, it was easier to see where she was at with Jace. Overall, this was a really fun read. It just didn't focus on the couple as it did the many side characters and Penny.
Ever gotten a mean boss who forced you to go out of town with him?
"For nEver" by Aurora Rose Reynolds is the story between Penny and Jace. It's a fake engagement + workplace romance! Penny decides she is going to get a second job to help save, but when her best friend leaves her job of being an assistant to the CEO. She asks Penny to help. While her friend warns her not to fall for the handsome boss, Jace introduces himself in not the greatest way. It's quite a fun story. Lots of rom-com moments for sure. Their love story is unique but beautiful.
Penny as a character is relatable. Her fears of the future and how she reacts in situations. She is so loveable it honestly made my heart ache. While I wish that they had made sure to end the book with more of her family and friends. Jace was the perfect grump! His development throughout the book was *chef's kiss* He learns to overcome his fears and issues. While he doesn't like the situation he is in, he still tries to be the best son he can be this time around. Jace's family is something else, but spending a WEEK all together with SO MANY PEOPLE!!
The only thing that would have made this book 5 stars would be having Jace's POV. I wanted to know what he thought of Penny the whole time. Although there were other things I found to have made me want to scream, they were purposeful and needed to build our characters. BUT NOT JACE'S GRANDMA HEARING THINGS...
I received the audio version of this book from NetGalley. The narration is done by Pippa Jayne and was done beautifully.
It is a spicy and steamy read, definitely, a must-read!
Penny is a preschool teacher who needs a job during the summer to earn money to take her mother on a trip after her recovery from cancer. Her friend hooks her up and she starts working for Jace.
Jace is a workaholic, with an upcoming family gathering he proposes an arrangement to Penny to keep his mother of his back.....be his fiancée for a week for 50 thousand dollars...... neither expected forever to be at the end of that vacation
***** Eh this was ok, just left me vaguely unsatisfied I can't pinpoint why Jace's ex ended up married with a child to his brother so she's around and eventually becomes friends with Penny. She's happily married so no drama there He was kinda an asshole and I wanted them to spend more time together because he was always working The family were cute and funny though and I liked Penny No epilogue 😒 No third act breakup thank you sweet baby Jesus Eh
No cheating No ow drama j/p H He didn't seem to be a manwhore
4.75 brilliantness!! I adore this author's work. I always feel safe when I crack one of her books open, knowing nothing will tear out my heart or make me sick to my stomach.
Penny Beaver never in a million years thought her temp secretary position with Jace Ellis would take a turn like it did but oh boy, did it ever! One day she is his secretary and the next she is asked to be his “fake fiancé!?” What’s a girl to do? It’s supposed to be for a week but when real feelings get involved can a lie turn into truth? I really enjoyed the banter and connection that grows between Jace and Penny. Such a feel good romance! Get ready for all the swoon worthy moments in this fun rom com sure to leave you giggling. A Top Read Of 2023! Told in Penny’s POV

Grumpy/Sunshine, fake dating, one bed and a family reunion. Yeah sounds like a disaster of giggles to me too. This was funny, sweet, filled with vibrant characters and natural emotions. There's a bit of insta love in here, but the way everything ties up I'm okay with it. This was my first Aurora Rose Reynolds and I am excited she has a huge back catalogue for me! Much love to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for my DRC.
I devoured this book. I laughed, smiled thru the entire book.
The banter, the family dynamics, the humor, the settings… chefs’ kiss 😘 and Jace…be still my beating heart! When he told Penny he was stupidly in love with her, my heart melted 🫠 He wouldn't need to offer me a dime to pretend to be his fiancé for a week.
It’s not often but I even fell in love with the female character. Penny was sassy and sweet and not afraid to speak her mind. Honestly, I couldn’t get enough of this couple. I clung to their every word.
Such a good feel book!!
✓ Fake Relationship ✓ Workplace ✓ Forced Proximity ✓ One Bed ✓ Billionaire ✓ Family Dynamics ✓ Female Character POV only
4.5 Stars!!! If you love Grumpy/Sunshine, Boss/Employee, Fake Engagement, Forced Proximity you are in for a treat. Penny takes a temporary summer job covering for her friend while she is on maternity leave. From the very first meeting, Penny realizes Jace is going to be a difficult boss to work for. He is grumbly and direct and leaves no room for errors. Penny holds her own against Jace with a little help from her friend Christy. Until Jace tells her to meet him at an airfield and to pack a bag. When they are up in the air he drops the bomb on her, they are going to his family reunion and he wants her to be his fake fiance while they are there.
While they are faking it in front of the family, Penny slowly begins to fall for Jace, not matter how much Christy tells her not to. I loved the banter between the two of them. Jace trying to find a cute nickname for Penny and Penny telling him where he can stick those names. I loved all the side characters too. ARR created such a good cast, they all helped create such a fun book. His grandma Janet is snarky and funny, his mom and aunt are just adorable. I loved all the games and watching Jace and Penny open up to each other.
The only thing I will say that would have made it 5 stars for me is I wish it was dual POV. I am such a sucker for a Dual POV. Jace was so broody and I really wanted to see the story from his perspective, even if it was just in the epilogue. I still loved the book immensely and fell stupidly in love with these two!
I am such a fan of the stories Aurora Rose Reynolds writes. I have been desperate for this story since she teased it. From the moment I delved into Penny and Jace's story, I was entranced and couldn't put it down until I reached the end. This is the type of book where the characters and their journey will stay with you long after you are done. For nEver is the quirky and delightful love story with the kind of slow burn chemistry that leads to a top HEA!
Jake is a gloomy, moody character, and it's Penny who illuminates his darkness. It was both amusing and entertaining to witness their journey unfold when she agreed to be his fake fiancée. What starts off as a pretense rapidly evolves into something more as emotions surge and boundaries are crossed.
For nEver is a heartwarming and entertaining read that will appeal to all romance enthusiasts. I knew it was a special book when I finished, but I still craved more.
This was my first Aurora Rose Reynolds book and I enjoyed it. The story was great, but I felt like it needed Jace’s POV. I love to know why grumpy characters are the way they are and I REALLY wanted to know what was going on in his head about Penny and his family. There were some good funny moments and great chemistry between Jace and Penny. I really appreciated that this was a true standalone.
This book was absolutely adorable. If you are looking for any of these tropes, then this book is definitely for you:
Boss/Employee ✔️ Fake Engagement ✔️ Forced Proximity ✔️ One Bed ✔️ Enemies to Lovers ✔️
Penny recently agreed to cover her friend who is on maternity leave for 6 weeks at her job as an assistant to the boss. Right from the start, her new boss Jace, shows that he is a tough guy to work for. He is instantly grumbly and moody and is never satisfied.
Shortly after Penny starts the job, Jace is off for a week to return home to be with his family, which he is reluctant to do. When Penny is awoken on the morning he is supposed to depart demanding that she arrive at the airport in an hour with a weeks worth of clothes, she is instantly confused. Once they are in the air (smart, but silly silly move Jace), he asks her to do him a huge favor by being his fake fiancé. After deliberating and being given a nice incentive, she agrees.
For that week, they fake it in front of his family. And they do it well after some hiccups in the beginning. But you can slowly see how this is turning into something more real for both of them. But can they really have something real after this vacation bubble that they are in? Or will they be different people once they return home?
This book had some really great side characters, on top of the main characters. I loved all of Jace's family members and Christy. There were some really funny parts and then a few times with interactions with Jace's parents that made me want to tear up!
If insa love ARR KNOWS how to do, but she's also a master in creating intense hate - to -love stories too. This author knows how to make my heart soft for Her men and with Jace it was exactly the same. For Never id delivering fake relationship, boss/employer romance, with great story line and thickkkkkk tension, so obviously I couldn't put it down. I might be deep into dark romance world, but I swear... If ARR publishing books like For Never, I'm dropping everything to read it.
Jace and Penny..... how much I love them together !!! From the begining I felt that they perfect match for each other. Sexy alfa and the biggest sweetheart looks like a perfect match and everything what I needed today.l They stole my attention, capitaved my heart, and I'm really sorry that our date ended, however... I'm sure this author have more good stuff in the market and I'll come back to Mrs Aurora Rose Reynolds with pleasure - as always!
FL/ PENNY:- a first grade teacher who takes up a temp. summer job at ML's company. She is everything a teacher who has kids to deal with all day would be like.
ML/ JACE:- a billionaire tech gaming ceo who wears tshirt and khakhi shorts. Not rude, just gruff.
Review:
Disclaimer: read the synopsis for an idea of the plot. It pretty much covers it.
Although there is no deep diving into the characters or plot so it becomes an emotional rollercoaster, the book doesn't lack in depth. It rather feels balanced and focused. It is charming because Jace is charming, the banter is charming and the setting of the book is cute. There is no major drama a.ka. mean exes or great fuck ups. All the more, you can actually see the two falling in love.
