Cami Checketts is a USA Today Bestselling author of over a hundred clean romance novels. Her journey began on an Idaho dairy farm daydreaming book ideas on her bike or tractor and landing herself in the hospital numerous times for head wounds. She settled down after college (retired the bike at least) to raise four crazy boys and write down all those fabulous ideas. Cami's life is busy but she thoroughly enjoys rarely living in reality.

Every so often you discover one of those unforgettably life altering books. This is definitely one of those for me. This clean romantic suspense is at the top of my list of favorite Christmas books. Zeke and Mia’s story is so fabulous. Zeke’s sensitivity to touch pulls you into the book from the first chapter. From pages filled with suspense, danger, and even drama, to their sweetest, most in-love moments I found myself on the proverbial edge of my seat. An epic tale that I most definitely recommend.

This one by Cami Checketts was a lot of fun. I really liked her characters. And her plot was intriguing too. It’s always fun to have other characters that you’ve grown to love pop up in new books. And that happens here as well.

I loved Mia! How can you not? She’s such a kind, loving woman. And her clothes, I need to find out who she really is so I can buy some! I wasn’t happy that some jerk was targeting Mia for kidnapping. It made me want to smack him. Especially when I realized just who it was.

I liked Zeke too. He’s the hero of the book. And he was kind of cocky sometimes. There were actually several cocky males in this one. It was fun to watch Zeke grow, at least a little, toward someone that could be worthy of Mia. I really loved the scene with him and her dad. But you’ll have to read it yourself to find out why.

All in all, this was a fun romance with a touch of Christmas.

His Perfect Match

Another wonderful series starter by Cami Checketts. We have suspense combined with romance that equals entertaining. This book tells the reader more about the background of Cap from the previous series. Cap has been called in by the Deltas to protect the British Lady Mia. She has received threatening notes by a serial stalker that has kidnapped nine other prominent women in Britain. Will he be able to keep her safe?

I liked that this couple’s “insta love” (less than 48 hours) wasn’t purely s*xual like I find in many ‘insta’ romances (though there was certainly passion). While I did not care for Mia at the start (she acted like a petulant child), I was fascinated by Zeke’s character – the warrior persona juxtaposed with the aversion to touch (and his related backstory) and the vulnerability and unusual openness he experienced around Mia. The 48 hours started to drag a bit when thoughts started to repeat and nothing had happened in relation to her stalker. I was taken aback when Mia brought up her Christian beliefs about mid-way through the story as if they’d been emphasized earlier (which they weren’t). Now how to say the next part without spoilers? The mystery of her stalker appears to be neatly wrapped up… and then we get a climactic scene – usually the peak of the story. Instead, duty calls Zeke and they are separated. Unfortunately, this is where the author missed an incredible opportunity. An important change happens to Zeke in relation to his faith, a change that is important and key to how the story ends, but it is barely even mentioned. And while I liked the HEA, I was disappointed in this lack of development, especially for a Christian romance.

I love this Christmas continuation of the Delta family series. Captain Zeke Hendriksen is a tough decorated Navy special ops hero that hates being touched-physically. When Holly Delta calls him and asks him to come to Summit Valley to protect a friend of hers, Zeke had time off so he rushes to Northern Colorado. When he gets there, he endures the motherly hug from Holly and is then introduced to Mia Burton, daughter of an English Duke and Holly's best friend, Abi. When Mia shakes his hand, it not only doesn't hurt but is actually enjoyable. He looks for additional opportunities to touch Mia to see if their first touch is a fluke or if it is truly enjoyable to touch another human being. The fast paced, romantic suspense is a delightful read! I look forward to the rest of this new Chrismas series.

Mia is the sweetest and Zeke is a tough military leader. They were surprised to find strength and love in each other. Checketts does a terrific job of helping the reader understand and feel all that the characters are feeling. So much so that sometimes I struggled to follow the dialogue. I had to go back to see what the conversation was because I was lost in the description. Still, these characters are so pure, sweet, and strong. I loved getting to know them and seeing them overcome the challenges they face. I also got a peek into the Delta family. I would love to get to know those characters better.

I grew up listening to Paul Harvey and his The Rest of the Story. As spectacular as the Delta family is, Zeke was one of my favorite characters. His aversion to touch just made me ache. Yes, I’m totally guilty of getting involved with the characters of the books I read. Cami Checketts followed up and has brought this fabulous warrior living with such emotional pain back and given us “the rest of his story” and it includes the Delta family and Lady Mia Burton, daughter of Holly Delta’s best and longest friend. This is a fabulous story to watch unfold. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Cami, and I look forward to the rest of the series.

Cami Checketts is one of my favorite authors and this book just reinforced that! Cap (Zeke Henderson) has been a background character in some of her other books, and now we get to learn all about him and see him find his perfect match! Because of his upbringing, Cap has a total aversion to human touch, but when he meets Mia, who he as been brought in to protect, he is amazed that he actually likes her touch. Mia has been targeted by a serial kidnapper who has never failed to snatch his target. Can Cap save her from being his next victim? The ensuing story is one you won't be able to put down!

A great beginning to the intense series by Cami Checketts.
Captain Zeke Hendrickson has been “ordered” to come to the Delta Ranch by mama bear Holly Delta. He’s a hardened, unemotional special forces man and she’s asked for his help. Zeke doesn’t like to be touched unless it’s in a fight.
The Delta’s have asked him to protect Mia from a very dangerous stalker. For the first time in his life he’s interested in touching another person in a nonviolent way. What is happening to him when he looks at and spends time with Mia is beyond him.

This is a new-to-me author.
I enjoyed this story about a military hero who was dealing with some challenging issues from his past and a "Lady" who needed protection but was dealing with her relational issues.
This story also had some interesting drama and suspense. There was a large amount of romantic tension and feelings, which was a bit more than I personally felt comfortable with, but it didn't go too deep.
Cami Checketts is a new author to me. Her story has good dialogue and interesting characters. She adds a bit of suspense, which moves the story along. It also had a tender ending with a sweet Christmas theme.

Christmas romantic suspense

This is not the typical Christmas romance. And "romantic suspense" is not usually found in a Christmas story. But that is exactly what this well-written story is all about.

I was surprised at how easily I was able to folloow all the character relationships, since I have not yet had the opportunity to read Ms.Checketts' Delta Family Romances. I seemed to be drawn immediately into the lives and hearts of these characters.

This is the start of another series by Cami Checketts. Holly Delta calls in Captain Zeke to protect her friend's daughter, Lady Mia, from a stalker. Zeke has trouble with people touching him due to the way his parents had treated him growing up.
This is a good Christmas story involving suspense and romance, and it was a pleasure seeing the Delta family again. Looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

This story was about a Navy Seal, Captain Zeke Hendrickson, who is hired to protect a designer named Mia Burton. She is in danger from a stalker. Zeke is a tough, serious, no-nonsense trained guy and the perfect one to guard Mia from danger. To me the story had a little too much over-the-top romance and not enough suspense concerning her dangerous situation. I would have enjoyed more depth to the actual danger she was in.

He HATES people touching him
Because of his abusive childhood the ONLY person he hugs is the woman asking for his help. BUT not for her — but for a woman who has been targeted by a very sick man. So… this storyline is basically about Sleeping Beauty meets Rambo? Honestly, Cami Checketts writes better than this… (It’s a long story about a bodyguard falling for the body he’s guarding.) …and this is supposed to be a Christmas story? Ummm… It just doesn’t seem to fit, kinda like trying to squeeze a size 12 foot into a size 8 shoe.

Zeke has a phobia about being touched but the new woman he's supposed to be protecting changes everything. He loves her touch. She is being stalked and needs his help. Loving this Christian romance.

Wonderful, detailed story

Simple premise that captured my attention from the first page. I enjoyed the action scenes and routed for Cap standing up to the Duke. Excellent story and beginnings of the next stories.
