This is one of the most interesting and heartwarming books I've read this year. With an easy and accessible style, the author takes us on a rollercoaster ride along the vicissitudes of his life journey till 2009.

From his upbringing in a family of talented musicians in suburban Pennsylvania, to his spiritual renaissance in San Diego leading up to his eventual worldwide success as a musician and teacher, we hear an honest account of his constant seeking for higher purpose - even underlying his youthful misadventures. With engaging prose, the author shares his musical journey full of diverse influences ranging from gospel to rock to bhajans.

The light that shines through his words clearly comes from a lifetime of music, service, meditation, and as we soon discover: devotion to his Guru.

After reading about the author's harrowing medical conditions, you can't help but feel sympathy for all the suffering he had to endure. To see how he (with a healthy sprinkling of divine intervention) eventually manages to overcome so many seemingly-unsurmountable obstacles, always keeping the faith no matter what, is incredibly inspiring and uplifting.

These memoirs manage to convince you that gratitude and service are the doorways for miracles to flow through you. So, the book couldn't have had a more appropriate title; all you need is an open mind and heart to let divine grace in.

As a life-long sufferer of clinical depression myself, the book personally fills me with hope and I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for this blessing, Jeremy.

The key takeaway for me is that the deepest suffering can sometimes become a chrysalis-like transformation. The author eventually becomes a yogi, teacher and public figure. With untiring service and infectious humor, he inspires and lifts so many people - this is perhaps the most gratifying conclusion a book like this could have.

This book is an easy recommendation for anyone seeking wisdom. I think everyone can enjoy and benefit from reading it, no matter what their religious/spiritual inclinations.

As I began reading “Ain’t That a Miracle?: An Unlikely Journey Into Music and Meditation”, I have to admit that I was coming in as a doubting Thomas. Sure, miracles. Right. Then I began to read about someone who had a childhood much like mine. I could identify with this. Jeremy grew up in a Christian family and was seeking answers to the things that he was hearing in church. He survived the wild days of rocking and rolling and partying, unlike some of his childhood friends.
After graduation from Keystone College, Jeremy moved to San Diego and then his life began to change. He followed a friend’s advice and took an Art of Living Class to help him with breathing and to get over his asthma and heart problems. Then miracles began to happen. The lump that disappeared, the guitar that he was able to afford, the next guitar, a Taylor, that just happened to show up when he needed it, being bumped up into first class and on and on. Coincidence? Maybe. Miracles? You read the book and then make up your mind.

In his story we follow the evolution of Jeremy’s life. Going from Chunk the practical joker who older kids threw in trash cans to the Satsang rock star being guided by his guru, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Following Jeremy’s life made for a great read that I didn’t want to put down. There’s a feeling of hope that permeates the pages. When Jeremy first heard his guru speak, the topics that most interested him were love, yoga, meditation, and religion. In his book, Jeremy explores each of these topics and how they relate to him and the others around him.

It is also inspirational to read about Jeremy’s desire to help others. He has performed his seva to benefit many people all over the world from Taylor to Bangalore to Bangkok to Costa Rica. Follow Jeremy’s coming to enlightenment as he understands himself, his family, and his role in helping others around him. While reading, I also came to a better understanding of myself. Jai Guru Dev.

Being new to spiritual practices like yoga, deep breathing, and meditation, "Ain't That a Miracle?" was the perfect book for me. I read the book in three days, which is a new personal record best. Reading a more extensive book (394 pages) like this usually takes me much longer.

I am the same age as the author (Jeremy) when he started his spiritual journey, which is documented in fine detail in the book. He didn't hide anything either, as he shared his ups and downs as a young adult seeking more profound meaning, purpose, and happiness. Spoiler Alert: he found all three with his spiritual master, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (on the book's cover).

It's inspiring how devoted Jeremy was to his daily spiritual practice; I now intend to practice my yoga and breathing routine daily for the rest of this year. Also, I don't know if music is in my cards, but it was refreshing to read how Jeremy became a singer-songwriter and then how he performed worldwide. I felt like I was on tour with him in American cities, which I would love to visit soon, and India. I also want to see the Art of Living ashram he wrote so eloquently about. I'd also love to take a multiple-day train ride across the Indian subcontinent. Talk about an enriching life adventure! "Ain't That a Miracle?" opened my mind to the many possibilities in life.

I give this book five stars, as it is engaging, inspirational, and fun. The photos are complimentary, as well. My only wish is that they were in color. I assume the Kindle version has the images in color.

I recommend this book to anyone who has or wants to have a spiritual practice. Also, to anyone who wants to live their dreams, especially helping others and traveling the world. Also to future and current teachers. Jeremy has a diverse lifestyle, and I look forward to his second book, "Dying to Live," which he talks about at the end of his story and on the back cover.

Having taken the Art of Living course, taught by Jeremy in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2010, I had heard that practicing the Sudarshan Kriya had healed him of his lifelong asthma. This book details the story of how he received that relief and the spiritual journey that led him there.
Starting with entertaining stories of his childhood in Pennsylvania, it moves on to how he was drawn to San Diego as a young man, perfectly set up to meet Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. It is fascinating to read about Jeremy’s journey of spiritual growth, which would take him around the world in one adventure after another, always with his beloved music involved.
“Ain’t That a Miracle …” is easy to read, enjoyable, and amusing, mixed in with wisdom and thought-provoking quotes by Gurudev. I recommend this book to you; but, as for me, I’m already looking forward to the continuation of the story in Jeremy’s next book!

Ain’t That a Miracle? is an endearing emotional tale filled with the perfect mix of unshakeable master Gurudev! His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Jeremy’s devotee love with a dose of adventure in a dramatic vivid setting. It’s a pleasure to accompany the narrator on his physical and emotional journey that leaves you with the heart full of love and hope. Within this extraordinary memoir, Jeremy weaves a colourful tapestry of adventure, mysticism, and love. In turn, a man who has indulged much in humanity. A compelling venture into a world where anything is possible, Jeremy enchants and entertains.

Jeremy is a talented singer, writer, successful educator, an avid philanthropist, a young man and a passionate promoter of living the “good life”. This book chronicles the incredible ups and relatable downs of building a life. A story of triumph of true passion against all odds. It is good to see someone pull themselves to find professional victory, and personal stability. It’s intriguing and insightful explains how you can utilise music, yoga, meditation and service into every aspect your life. For example, it touches upon the supreme spiritual path, devotion, faith and blessings.

An inspiring story of success!
His writing is beautiful, evocative, honest. In this memoir, Jeremy shares his life journey in an honest, emotionally raw voice. His upbringing, his family dynamics. Ain’t That a Miracle? is located in Miracles, which truly serves the title aptly as it makes us believe blessed beyond. His journey to this point has been fraught with many challenges, but Jeremy dug deep to find the tenacity to turn his life around and the courage to grab his dream and make it come true. I’m happy Jeremy talents are being recognized and sincerely hope he continues to enjoy much success and prosperity.

Highly recommended for those who love music, life and inspiring memoirs about overcoming adversity, healing and finding wholeness. His story is full of passion and courage and when you read this book, you will walk away feeling inspired and encouraged in your own life. I'll keep an eye out for more great features about Jeremy and his future work.

"Ain't That a Miracle?" unfolds a captivating memoir, tracing Jeremy Occhipinti's transformative journey from his Scranton, Pennsylvania childhood to a devoted follower of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The narrative navigates through Jeremy's middle-class upbringing, health struggles, and college experiences in the early '90s, painting a vivid picture of his exuberant personality. The author's storytelling prowess shines as he shares humorous and rebellious anecdotes from his youth, interwoven with darker moments stemming from congenital disorders that led his body to rebellion.

Jeremy's resilience becomes evident as readers witness the development of his musical talent and teaching abilities. Throughout the narrative, the vibrant thread connecting these escapades is his deep respect and love for Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who serves as a steady light in Jeremy's decades of service and musical pursuit. Love how an ordinary kid from the 1980's, living in a middle-class neighborhood in Pennsylvania, grows up to travel the world, teaching and entertaining thousands of people. Music is an incredible passion, it soothes, inspires and brightens up all corners of our lives. And the author has shown how his own devotion for song, both attending rock concerts and making his own original music has created a soundtrack for this international adventure. Miracles do happen.
