Losing Me To A Memphis Boss
Imani has always been around drug dealers her whole life, so it was no surprise that she married one. Imani's dad was one of the biggest drug dealers when she was growing up. Trell was the guy she married who isn't doing too good in the dope game, and neither is their marriage. Growing up with a father who was a drug dealer made Imani learn the street life and drug dealing world fast. She tried to teach her husband the game, but he won't allow her. His ego is too big, and he didn't want a female to have to teach him the game.
Trell continues doing things his way until he comes up short off one of the biggest drug dealers in Memphis. Then he turns to Imani for help. When Trell has his wife go pay the biggest drug dealer in Memphis named Choppa, he may have made a big mistake while trying to save his life. It's no surprise that when Choppa and Imani meet, they immediately hit things off from the start.
Not only was Choppa fine, but he was an intelligent drug dealer who makes boss moves. Being the king of the drug world, everybody in the streets knew Choppa and not to double cross him. Imani is not only drawn to Choppa's bad boy side, she's also drawn to Choppa's romantic side. Imani tried to do everything she could to save her marriage but finally stopped when it became apparent she was the only one trying. While secretly spending time with Choppa, he makes her feel like a queen. Choppa's motivational words and his whole swag take Imani's breath away. Choppa is doing everything she wished her husband would.
How will Trell take it now that his wife is falling out of love with him? Will he try to fix things in his marriage? Or will he risk losing his wife to a Memphis Boss? A man who is willing to do all the things he didn't do and not take her love for granted.

It was an okay read!!
This was a quick read, it was pretty decent it just had so much going on. Everything was just happening at once. I didn’t like that it was only from Imani’s pov, at one point it was in the moment and the next thing I know it was like it had fast forwarded.
It had the potential to be a really good read but it lacked structure and character development.
Two things that really stood out Imani said Major had agreed to marry Stormy and I’m confused because is it the same Major that wouldn’t let her live with him when she had no where to go. The same one that was cheating right in her face??!
Second, Imani was ordered to pay spousal support 🤔 with what fkn money she didn’t have a job and had to result to stripping just to get by like that literally made no sense to include that part.
I’ve made it through this one so I will more than likely give part 2 a chance.

Great Read
It's sad when your own blood praying for your downfall. I can't wait till Stormy gets her Karma. How can she blame Imani when all she was doing was protecting herself. Major didn't give a damn about Stormy anyway so I know he didn't care about trying to rob her cousin. I still believe Trell had a hand in it tho. His mama must have been hitting the pipe when she was pregnant with him cause he real special. No matter how old he gets he'll never be a man. What kind of man sends his wife to another man's house trying to cover for him. It was the audacity of the insurance policy for me tho. Even after all the pain and bullshyt he put Imani through she still had to pay the F.A.N. alimony. I just wish she would have left once she made it to the car. How you gonna do dirt and get caught. I ain't worried tho cause Choppa always got her back.💙💙

How Can It Be Fair?
Mae Scott, good read. Oh my God! If you've never lived this life you would never understand how a person could still care for anyone that has done you wrong that's supposed to love you. Imani, was a strong young loyal woman. She came from boss parents that had some bad hands dealt to them. Instead of Imani closing down she made her own way. How many of us have been in her shoes? Loving the wrong man, being loyal to the wrong friend?
Trell was just a user, that thought he could do whatever he wanted and never having to be accountable. Chops came as a breath of fresh air. He was able to show I mani her worth. I can't wait for everyone to get their just karma. Waiting on part2 🤗🤗🤗🤗

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Trell had the world messed up! I mean seriously who did he think he was?! The saying you never know what you have until it's gone is somewhat true. I truly believe one knows what they had, they just never thought they would lose it! No, two wrongs never make a right but sometimes all it takes is a life changing event to see the light! I have no words for Stormy because she had me messed up!! After all the times Imani stood beside her, she gone turn against her all for an ain't ish fool! I really wish after she lit that house up, she would have left. I just know Stormy and Trell bout to bish up on her arse. Come on part 2!

Part 2 Me Please!!
Imani!!!!! Lord she worked my last nerves I understand her wanting to be loyal but dang at what costs!?! Trell was full of it and was good for nothing and love never ran that deep that she couldn’t see that!! Even her dang cousin Stormy!!! Like all these red flags and she ignored them all!!! When those guys ran in her house she didn’t suppose to make it out! How she couldn’t see Trell set that up like come on lil baby make it make sense!!! I’m so happy she has someone like Choppa in her corner cause she definitely need someone that is going to ride for her cause she be acting too naive for me!! I hope that inner beast really come out in part 2!!!

Yooo!! Loyalty are a priority‼️
This was a very good book!!! Trell is a whole bum!! Like he really isn't worth anything at all..I just can't understand why Imani was so loyal to him when he didn't give her the same loyalty..Imani needs to let that hood girl savage woman come out and make them disloyal folks pay for how they did her..Imma need a boss up fast‼️Choopa is definitely a boos and he making bug boss moves for Imani but she holding herself back..Stormy I don't like her with her 2 faces self..Like Major wasn't worth a can of dog food🤣🤣..I wonder who the chick was with Trell at the end🤔🤔.. I can't wait for part 2 !!

OMG, this was an awesome read. This is my very first time reading a book by this author and I absolutely loved it. I knew it was something I didn't like about Stormy snake ass at the beginning. Stormy was completely wrong and is yet another mess. Imani is such a kind person. She went above and beyond for Trell! He was just ignorant and a clown. Imani didn't shut down; she forged her own path. She needs someone who will be on her side and not plot against her, therefore I'm pleased she has Choppa in her life. I need part 2!

OK book
This book was pretty ok but I dislike that all the events runs together making it seem like everything happened in one day. For example when she found out Trell had a drug addiction, put him in rehab, found a job, had a fall out with her cousin, then picked Trell up from rehab it all seems like it happened in one day when it was over a course of months. The reader has to put the missing pieces together or add additional pieces to put the story in order. Other than that the plot is great.

Excellent Read!
I love love love Choppa! He is the true definition of a real man and exactly what Imani needed. Trell was a piece of work and so was Stormy. Both of them made me sick. Then for them to end up together now that was really a kick to the face. I liked how Imani finally bossed up and took control of her life and finally realized Trell was of no good to her. Excellent read! I had to finish this in 1 day I was so hooked. I’m starting part 2 tomorrow and I can’t wait. 10/10 excellent book

Trell is a sorry excuse for a man and husband. I’m so glad that Imani left him. Choppa is a great fit for her and he motivates her to be a better version of herself. I can always appreciate that in any man. Stormy is also a sad excuse for a cousin and best friend. How you get mad at someone for deciding to live like get real chile. It was either her or him and Imani chose life. This was a really good book and I can’t wait until part 2 comes out!

Speechless
I really don't know how I feel after reading this book. I mean it really is a good read... I'm not saying it's not but I just don't understand why for some it's so hard to let go?? Loyalty doesn't mean anything to a lot of people anymore... Sad but true... This dude tried to kill her but she still was ordered to pay him alimony?? Only in a book... Unreal.... Can't wait for the next one... I've got to see how it ends....

This is the reason why I don’t trust people especially your own family Stromy is the true example of being jealous of her own cousin she did the most and we not going to get started on crack crack head Trell he definitely trifling you cheat got someone pregnant and had them murder people just down right dirty I can’t wait for Part 2 cause I want to see Crack crack Trell and dusty Stormy both fall on their faces

You can’t trust everyone
This book was 🔥🔥 I’m glad that Choppa & Imani are together I was happy that Imani finally saw that her ex husband Trell & her cousin Stormy are snakes & jealous of her. I also like how Choppa told her she can be anything she want to be & she took the opportunity and did her modeling thing. I will recommend others to read this book

Crazy
This book really has some craziness going on. From the very beginning I saw Tell for who he really was. I mani fell for his charm, but never saw him for who he really was until it was almost too much. Choppa showed up and showed out. She is so naive, and hasn't really learned her lesson yet. I can't wait for part two.

The story line is good but it seemed too fast. It was kind of like it was all over the place. I love a good instant love book but I just don’t know about this. Some parts it seemed it was done weeks maybe months later but it was maybe a week. Still going to read part 2 though.

The title and the content of this book just really don't go together. I'm really sorry but how can you have Imani both weak and strong? She was spitting good advice but couldn't follow it for herself.

Anyone that rated this book 5 stars had to either be a friend or at a remedial reading level. The storyline was good but it was all over the place. As a Memphian, I was highly disappointed. I almost DNF’d it a few times but I kept reading hoping it was get better. It didn’t.

It’s A NO FOR ME
