From Love Inspired: Uplifting stories of faith, forgiveness and hope.
Living on a remote self-sufficient homestead in North Idaho, Patrice Lewis is a Christian wife, mother, author, blogger, columnist and speaker. She has practiced and written about rural subjects for almost thirty years. When she isn’t writing, Patrice enjoys self-sufficiency projects, such as animal husbandry, small-scale dairy production, gardening, food preservation and canning, and homeschooling. She and her husband have been married since 1990 and have two daughters.
I loved this book! The title is so appropriate for the story. One's choices and actions in life have consequences that cannot be escaped. Some consequences are good and some require much time and effort to turn them around. Even when the one making changes is sincere and truly repented, others may not be so quick to accept that change, and can even be extremely judgmental. The funny thing about being judgmental is that sometimes the one passing judgment needs to take a good look in the mirror and do some self reflection before being quick to judge others.
And such is the story of Emma Fisher and Thomas Kemp, a truly moving story of new beginnings, redemption, love and forgiveness.
Patrice has written a book regarding choices. I loved the child in this book. Patrice writes about the choices her characters have made in the past. What we do with the poor choices we make. In the story will the characters overcome their past. I will leave that for you to decide. Excellent book.
It was wonderful to catch up with Thomas. I had disliked him so, wondering if he was capable of truly changing his life. This book isn’t a fairy tale- everyone has to consider past and present choices in realistic ways- but it is definitely worth the read.
My new favorite. I loved the relationships in this. That we can have mistakes in the past and be forgiven was the message. A very sweet and well told story.
This novel is the next in the series by Ms. Lewis. I enjoyed it, as I've read the others. To be fair you don't need to read the previous books; however, I feel you won't fully understand what our characters have faced without that background knowledge. It was quickly mentioned in the book; however, the overall angst needs to be understood. Our central characters are both flawed and trying to grow from past mistakes. One is trying so hard to make amends; the other doesn't fully realize/acknowledge her sin is just as great. The novel is a good read. I personally believe it ended a bit abruptly and would have preferred an epilogue. With that said, I would recommend you read it and remember all humanity is flawed. HE saves us all!
