She’s spent years creating a new identity and living a perfect life. Now I have to step out of the shadows and remind her who she really is.
Bella is trying to run from her past, but she can’t hide from me…
She’s been mine from the moment I laid eyes on her, and I won’t let her forget it again.
The Vanta Collection is a series of dirty, dark, and forbidden standalone tales for adults. This book explores mature themes and includes content that some readers may find disturbing. Please proceed with caution.
Holly Bloom has a degree in English Literature, but don't let that fool you... she would pick a steamy romance over a Shakespeare play any day!
Holly writes contemporary romance - the dark, gritty and twisty kind. She loves creating badass babe characters, who aren't afraid to speak their minds, and writing about the men who can handle them - often, there is more than one! Why choose, right?
When she isn't working on her next project, Holly spends an unhealthy amount of time watching true crime and roaming around the woods near her home in the UK. As well as gooey chocolate brownies, Holly’s favourite thing in the world is hearing from her readers.
When lightning strikes the prison, where Jude Masterson has been incarcerated for the last 10 years, blowing a hole in the wall, he takes it as a sign it’s time to escape.
Hannah Valentine, secretary at a prestigious law firm, has spent the last 10 years burying her past and cultivating a picture perfect life.
When her past finds her in the bathroom of a restaurant on her honeymoon, she isn’t prepared for the chain of events that will unfold.
This quick, steaming hot read was dämn near perfect with its forbidden storyline and the bIôôdy trail leading to an unconventional HEA!

Games of a playmate, childhood friend, villain, twin soul? Certifiable. Jude is running from her past, suppressed memories, and Jude. New identity, new life, and now a new marriage to a prominent businessman. But Bella hides a dark side, and Jude shows up after 10 years in prison to remind her who she is, their role in each other’s lives, and that they will always be together. If he can’t have her, no one can.
A determined Jude with everything to gain arrives resurrecting their shared, twisted past even more terrifying, broader, tattooed, more jaded than before to claim Bella. Nothing will stop him. Instinctively, Bella can’t deny her connection to him, her attraction to him, all while trying stake a claim in the falsehood of an acceptable but unfulfilling present. Even though she is cooly confident, there is no denying their ties. The author paints a picture of their gritty and dark past, a mutual sinister connectedness with reflections of a childhood of abuse and the behaviors that shaped them.
Jude would do anything for Bella. A fair amount of angst and uncertainty in a quasi love triangle, I was concerned as to how the story would pan out. Meanwhile, it was very spicy, kinky, and adult play: Guns, knives, menacing stalking, primal, breath, denial, coercion.
The story centers around two main characters, Bella and Jude, a bit of Jude’s husband, but not any significant side-character contributions. Fast pace and multiple, first person points of view, it reads just over the length of a novella. Some outstanding questions — what happened to momma, the kids, and Jude’s sentence, but otherwise the feeling of a full-length book.
Dark pasts, hidden secrets, fated love, this was a disquieting, psychologically dark romance. The past shapes the present, what’s true may be a falsehood, and what’s wrong depends on one’s lens. Truth: true love is enduring. Their world is where it all began. It’s closed and consumes them.
A quick spicy read that I enjoyed. When someone from her past shows up, everything changes. He brings out the dark in her romance and I was loving it. It's a bloody happy ending that left me happy for them.
Well, I finished it...but honestly that's only b/c it was a novella. I like a dark romance with flawed characters, but I also like some redemption or at least a few redeeming qualities. These people are just evil and twisted. Period.
SPOILERS
And I wanted to cry when Jude revealed how he chose Bella and helped kidnap her when she was just 5 years old. He lured her away from her mommy with a promise of puppies. And he was like 10 and already So effed up. And the fact that they kill innocent people?? With NO remorse. I don't find that entertaining or them as characters interesting. So I'm giving this 1 star and that's b/c I can't give 0.
Holly Bloom is killing it with this series, Taking Bella is the second book in The Vanta Collection which is a series of standalone novellas which are dark, forbidden and taboo.
Bella finally has the perfect life, her past is behind her, she’s married a rich, smart man and she’s safe and secure. On her honeymoon a face from the past comes back to haunt her and makes her 💦 in the bathroom.
Jude has been in prison, for a horrible crime but he’s escaped and his only goal is to take Bella from her fake life and make her remember their love.
I loved this, it’s short and smutty and deliciously dark. I am gutted it’s only a novella because I would die for a prologue book, to witness their descent into their dark love and their life with Mama. I honestly can’t wait to read more from this collection!
This was the perfect dark and twisted novella. Both Jude and Bella had a horrible childhood and the only thing that kept them going was each other. They were able to find love within all the darkness that surrounded them.
Now Jude is probably one of the only characters that ill be too scared to run into😭 this man is so dark and twisted its lowkey scary. But I LOVED it(idk what that says about me). He would do literally anything for Bella to show her how much he loves her and how much they are meant to be.
Bella is just as dark and twisted as him. There's no way to explain this correctly you have to read the story to see how both of them fit so perfectly with one another.
YALL 🤭 there's gun AND knive play
"Fucking her with my mouth and gun was foreplay compared to what’s to come when we won’t be interrupted"
I wouldn't mind so alone time with Jude no matter how much he scares me😭😭😭
Be warned that this book contains dark parts that might upset some folks.
Bella (FMC) seems to have it all in her life especially having just married the perfect man but things start to unravel with the appearance of Jude a blast from her past. That in effect resurfaced their past relationship. Rekindling their love for their dark and steamy game of truth & dare. Bella and Jude's dynamic is not exactly conventional but because of the upbringing that they've had they had to rely on each other and that lead to the relationship that they have now. Very Steamy. Taking Bella is definitely a twistedly good read
Wow, this story is great. It starts off with Hannah, only Hannah isn't actually Hannah. Her real name is Bella but after things that happened in her past, she changed her name and started a whole new life for herself. When her past catches up with her in the form of Jude everything starts to be revealed and it turns out that there's a darker more sinister past between the two than anyone could have imagined.
I really enjoyed this book, there are a lot of triggers, kinks and dark secrets. If you like a dark twisted read then this is definitely the book to go with.
This is definitely a dark novella, packed with triggers, so anyone wanting to/thinking about reading it definitely needs to check the trigger warnings. Not gonna lie, this is a fucked up ride, and the main characters are both crazy in different and similar ways... and there's not a lot of redemption or character development throughout the story. That being said, I enjoyed it. If you want a quick, dark, fucked up read then definitely give this a go.
Taking Bella by Holly Bloom Spoilers Synopsis Dual POV CW: Knife/Gun Play, sprinkle of religious trauma, child trafficking mentioned.
Bella/Hannah- FMC Jude- MMC Felix- New Husband
So I really do like this novella it's short and doesn't have too much filler but you get to know the characters well. Bella & Jude are made from the way they gew up. Its a good pallette cleaner story at 122 pages.
Synopsis
You meet Hannah (Bella) who just married Felix (lawyer for bad guys) on their honeymoon at a local lake when she goes to the bathroom at a restaurant she is confronted by Jude & told she'll see him again. Jude is suppose to be 10 years into serving a life sentence in a maximum security prison. Bella was 16 when he went in for killing Ethan. A boy her age.
H & F gets to their new home and H finds out that Jude has been in their home. He left Ethans skeleton ring in her panty drawer. She knows Judes watching & shes waiting. He's finds out Felix cheated with a colleague's wife Rosie a week before his wedding to Hannah. A month later he breaks into their house has an altercation with Felix & Hannah. Attempts to kill Felix & then steals Hannah while she's unconscious by rolling her in a carpet. He finds out Felix didnt die & is searching for Hannah.
Jude takes Bella to their old house where a lot of trauma happened in the past. Especially religious trauma. You find out that "momma" and Jude went to a store when Jude was 9 and he saw "Bella" who was 4 with her mother & he told momma he wanted her because she looked like a doll. So they stole her & Jude named her Bella. Bella was his. Momma also stole other children(toddler to preteen) throughout the year and she sold them at what she called "the market." Momma was a human trafficker. She thought Jude was the devil & didnt like technology etc.
Bella tries to escape after she overhears a video of Felix that Jude was playing. Jude finds her and bring her back and then goes and call Felix and tell him that he needs to give him $50000 & he can have Bella. Jude takes Bella to the river where Ethan is buried. Bella has a flashback. She met Ethan when they were 16 and he liked to wander around the woods and he asked her to go to prom with him and she said no because she knew she wouldn't be able to go and Ethan told her that she needs to get away from Jude because hes not right in the head and that Ethan will tell everyone in the town what Jude has done and take Jude away so she can be free. Bella stabs Ethan multiple times. They dispose of the body. Jude takes the fall for her. Jude basically did all of this so that Bella can confront her past and realize who she is that she is not Hannah And Hannah is not a life that she wants to live. While they're at the river Felix shows up with the money. Bella tells you to kill him and then they decide to use the $50000 to start any life.

This was a deliciously dark and twisted story. It had me utterly captivated and gripping my kindle tightly, while turning the pages quickly to see how Bella and Jude’s twisted game of truth or dare would turn out. It was a wild, depraved and crazy rollercoaster ride of deliciousness.
Hannah/Bella thinks she has the perfect life or at least she is resigned to that fact and will make sure that she is at least happy. But little did she know that her past would rip her from her perfect new life during her honeymoon.
Jude has never given up on Bella even while in prison. Fate has a funny way of making sure two souls that are meant to be together, stay together. And that is exactly what fate has in store for Bella and Jude. Jude is back with a vengeance and will make sure to force Bella to see that they belong together no matter what.
This story might be short, but it sure packed a delicious punch to my lady parts. Jude is demanding, domineering, possessive and definitely unhinged and I loved everything about him. His darkness was electrifying, continually making my toes curl and my panties combust. And he will definitely have you falling in love with him too!
Fantastic writing that instantly captivates and titillates you right to the very end. I loved every deliciously twisted and thrilling moment of this story and can’t wait for the next book in this series.
If you love dark, twisted and depraved stories – this one is for you!
🚩: Cheating, Dubcon/Noncon, Past Child Abuse, Unaliving, Violence....would recommend checking the trigger warnings on Hollys website if you are unsure.
Firstly I have to say that no matter what Holly writes I fully plan on reading everything, she is an autobuy author and I don't have many of them. Secondly, this is an amazing dark and twisted novella, just what I needed to get myself out of the reading slump I was in.
It can be read as a standalone, though I always recommend Holly's work, so I also suggest reading all her prior works 🤣
Jude and Bella both had a terrible childhood, and the only thing that kept them going was each other. The love they had for each other was enough to get them through the darkness that surrounded them.
Bella finally has the perfect life, leaving her past in the past. She married a rich man who can give her what she needs, however on her honeymoon Jude comes crashing back into her life after he escaped prison. His only goal now he's escaped is to take back what's rightfully his and make her rember the love they had.

Taking Bella is another surprisingly delicious addition to The Vanta Collection with numerous Forbidden tropes that make for a heart racing read. Bella has a dark and twisted Stalker who is determined to get his love back after an unexpected escape from prison. Bella might also be just as twisted as Jude is. Their love was built on the foundation of an extremely troubling childhood but by the end their love, although questionable, will prevail. There is kidnapping, stalkerish tendencies, and unaliving. That's not even considering the various kinks that Bella and her man get into. There was so much detail and steam packed into this novella. Bloom has done a fantastic job with this collection of twisted novellas and I can't wait to read more!
Bella is hiding from her past, but little does she know her past is addicted to her and will stop at nothing to claim her. I was not expecting so much character depth in a novella, so I was pleasantly surprised when this book bish slapped me with all the intensity of Jude & Bella. Bella has just the right amount of denial and Jude is a scrumptious box of stalker, psycho, and obsession. They had backstory, plot, spice, kink, and a twist I will remember for a long time. I definitely recommend if you’re wanting a slice of darkness and a fast burn.
Dual POV between Bella & Jude, first person.
Please read trigger warning, this is book is small but it is mighty!
Review the trigger warnings and be warned this story is dark, dark.
This novella is short, but there is so much story packed in here, it's hard to fault it for being short! Bella has a new identity and a new life. She is newly married to Felix and living as Hannah. Everything seems great and she is moving on with life, until weird things start happening. Soon she is face to face with Jude, a dark figure from her past who should be spending life in prison. Dark stories keep coming out and soon Bella is faced with a choice.
Dark, twisted and filled with crazy spice!!! I loved this story of 2 broken souls, one who tried to escape and forget about her life before and the other who did everything to get his girl back. Holly Bloom writes the BEST twisted dark romance. This will send shivers down your spine but will also turn you the fuck on, Jude and his kinky fuckery will make you question everything… I’d let him chase me through the woods any day! Knife play, breath play, chasing, CNC, stalker 🔥🔥🔥 my dark heart devoured it!
If you need a dark and delicious novella this is the one for you! Jude’s whole life has been centered around Bella, and they are connected in a way that most can’t fathom. But Jude’s been gone for a long time and Bella’s life has become both drab and something akin to a compass without its true North. The doubts that Bella have had are valid but I love that Jude helps her find herself. Great spicy story!
For those who enjoy reading on the dark side this one is definitely marking all the boxes.
Trying to escape a dark past for a better future is all Hannah (Bella) wanted but when her past comes for her she chooses denial. She chooses to think she imagined things moved around or seeing things all while Jude was closer then she thinks.
Even though this novella is short, it is anything but sweet. It's dark & twisted and I loved every bit of it.
Jude and Hannah (aka Bella) both had terrible childhoods and leaned on each other for love. We get to see glimpses of their past together and how that shaped them. Hannah has built up her life to escape and forget her past, but after years apart, Jude finds her and reminds her of she she really is. Jude is all sorts of twisted, but his obsession with Hannah is never-ending and HOT.
This story was captivating and delicious, I couldn't get enough of it. If you love dark and depraved stories, you have to pick this one up.
Dddaaammmmnnnnn!!!!! Get ready for a twisted, bloody and sexy time!!!! Jude is a beast with no remorse who will do whatever it takes to get his Bella back. Bella is fighting who she is at every turn, but still craving Jude and his depravity!!! What a ride and ending!!! A must read!!! Amazing as always Holly Bloom!!!!
Super dark and delicious! Bella and her twisted stalker has some secrets that interferes with her new, glitzy life. This is one of those books where you don't quite know which ending you're rooting for, because it feels so good to be bad. If you like taboo, dark and twisted story - this book is a must for you! A little bit deranged, hot and steamy and soooo dark - and such a twisted little treat.
This is a delightfully dark and twisted tale. Holly Bloom knows what she’s doing and exceeds expectations every time. I would classify this as stalker romance, with a twist. Check content warnings for any triggers.
First book of 2023 and boy did I pick a good one. This book was so dark and delicious. I devoured it, as usual. Anything by Holly is always amazing, I’ve really been loving her dark romances. Great books for anyone’s dark romance heart and TBR piles
From the beginning I thought I knew what to expect and yet it was more twisters I thought it would be. The writing is really good, and the book reads really fast. It's an enjoyable read, especially for those who love a twisted romance with dark themes
This was a really good, short, dark and disturbing read. I loved it. It's well written, the main characters are totally scr€wed up from their upbringing. But after ten years apart, which life will Hannah/Bella choose?
Now this author seriously knows how to write! I love a dark and twisted romance and this book is gold. I devoured this book in a single sitting and loved every second of the story. If you love a dark romance where you have no idea what happens next, start this book now!
This book, IMO, is is similar to Gemma James’s book Torrent. Because of that, I had a lot of dejavú going on in regards to me feeling like I’ve read this before. I made it to chapter 5 and decided to not finish the book. It was just not my cup of tea for what I’m looking for at the moment.
