He wakes up.

She kills him.

It won’t stop happening.

On a dark and stormy night, Seth wakes up—only to be murdered by his own wife. Then he wakes up and she does it again. And again. And again.

He’s stuck in a loop that nobody else knows about. It’s not just a bad dream—and no amount of pleading, reasoning, or fighting with her makes a difference.

It all ends the same way. Every single time.

Seth doesn’t know why she wants him dead, but he’ll have to learn. He’ll have to find out what’s really happening and why—if he wants to figure out how to stop it. And for that, he’ll have to experiment.

To die over and over and over, learn as much as he can each time, and collect the pieces of this terrifying puzzle.

He will not accept defeat. He already knows what happens when he fails, and having it happen for eternity is not an option.

Seth wakes up in bed, next to his wife Kendra. There’s a terrible thunderstorm outside, and Kendra moves on top of Seth. He thinks his wife is interested in romance, but he’s mistaken. She plunges a knife into him, over and over, until he’s gone. When he wakes up again, in bed, next to his wife, he thinks he has had a bad dream, and is relieved. However, the same thing happens again, and again, and again. No amount of cajoling, fighting, pleading, screaming, or trying to show her he still loves her will stop his murder; his repeated attempts to get Kendra to explain the reason why she wants him dead fail. Seth cannot bear to be murdered every night for eternity, and so begins to collect clues that he will compile to connect the reasons why Kendra wants him dead, who else knows, and who is involved.

After the second time Seth is murdered and wakes up in bed next to Kendra in the same thunderstorm, I think to myself, “This is the thriller version of ‘“Groundhog Day.’” It doesn’t take long for Seth (via K. Lucas) to confirm that for me: “I don’t know why or how or anything at all. But I do know it’s not just a nightmare. This is real. Somehow, I’m stuck in a loop—a f*cked up version of Groundhog Day. And my wife wants me dead.” She certainly does want him dead, and proves it when he finally confiscates the knife only to find she also has a hidden gun and will use them interchangeably. It’s frustrating for him that he gets no answer from her as to why: “‘Kendra, why the hell are you trying to kill me?”’ I yell at the top of my lungs, bewildered and full of bitter fury. …Don’t even try to deny it. You’ve just killed me five goddamn times, and you won’t stop!” Anger rolls off me in waves. I don’t bother trying to rein it in—it won’t do any good anyway. I’m stunned that not only have I failed to stop her from continuing to murder me, and that I keep waking up—not dead, but that I have no idea why she keeps doing this.” Much like Bill Murray, the star of Groundhog Day, Seth keeps making the wrong decisions, only to find himself back in his bed again on the same night; and much like Bill Murray, he finally figures it all out (after the startling climax) in the end. It was a fast, engrossing read, and a page-turner of a thriller, with twists and unexpected reveals. Definitely worth a read if you are a fan of this genre; but please note there are many content trigger warnings given by the author before the book begins.

I’d like to thank BookSirens and K. Lucas for the ability to read and review this ARC.

This was a fantastic book! I've never read a book with a plot so interesting. I absolutely loved this story. I loved the whole Ground Hog Day idea!

Imagine waking up, to your spouse on top of you, ready to kill you. They succeed and then you wake up to the same situation the next day and the next. If they don't kill you but you fall asleep, guess what? Yep, resets. This is what Seth's life has become and he's not sure why. Each time he wakes up, he tries to find out why Kendra wants to kill him. Each day is a puzzle that he is trying to figure out in order to save himself from being killed. Does he figure it out? Does he stop the loop he wakes to each day?

Book releases on Halloween! Make sure to grab a copy to find out, if Seth figures out the puzzle that he calls his life.

This is my first book by this author and she definitely impressed me. She has such an incredible imagination to think up a story like this one. I can't wait to read her others.

All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I found this book by accident, the description of the content caught my attention. I like similar stories, unfortunately I often have to be disappointed, and several times I can't finish the book. Fortunately, that didn't happen this time. This book, this story is almost perfect. The basic story has already appeared in other books and TV series, but it was able to bring something new to this genre. After all, what are the criteria of a good thriller? If I can't put it down, if I can't sleep because I want to get to the end, if I want to know what happens to Seth and Kendra in the end, then that book is definitely intriguing and exciting. With this book, the author is on my list, whose new stories I will definitely look for to read.

I read this as an eARC from BookSirens for an honest review.

This is very different from anything else I’ve read, and I loved it. It was a very short and quick read, I could’ve finished it in a couple of hours but we all know adulting gets in the way sometimes. This was very well written and I liked the character development.

The way it was portrayed really sucked me in and made me feel the stress of the main character, the absolute exhaustion from the time loop. Even when he started to give up, because I knew I would too if I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong.

The plot twist and the reason WHY this all was happening was super left field and very unexpected. I really enjoyed that, even if it made everything go a little bit sideways. The ending was expected because of it but still abrupt to me.

Overall this was a very cool book, and I really enjoyed it. I’d love to check out more books by K. Lucas as I love psychological thrillers and this itched a scratch in my brain. Definitely recommend it if you want something fast paced and full of twists and turns.

What would you do if your spouse was trying to kill you? Seth is married to Kendra and he is convinced that she wants him dead. He wakes up and is relieved to see that he was having a nightmare. But, Seth looks over at Kendra and sees her approaching him with a knife. She stabs him but he doesn’t die! Kendra then murders Seth again and again and again. How is this possible? He’s in an infinite loop that he can’t get out of. What a brilliant plot for a book. I was hooked from the first chapter. This book was well written and the characters really came to life. K. Lucas has a vivid imagination. She is a master storyteller. If you are looking for a great thriller that will stretch your imagination, then this book is for you. I highly recommend this book. I would like to thank K. Lucas for an advanced copy and have left this review,

You Kill Me is a new thriller by K Lucas. I found this thriller to be so exciting with surprises and strong characters. Seth finds himself being killed over and over by his wife and he has no idea why she is killing him. Kendra is a complicated character and Seth must discover why he is being killed in order to stay alive. I thought that the author unfolded the story like a flower, slowly and beautifully. I was so surprised with the ending… it was perfect. You Kill Me is not your typical thriller and it is not to be missed. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

This is a voluntary review of a free book from Book Sirens.
Wow! I don't really know what to say! It's like Groundhog Day meets horror story.
Seth is stuck in some sort of time loop where Kendra keeps killing him. He needs to figure out how to stop it as he doesn't want to be doing this for eternity. It almost became comical at times when a he would start all over again.
This book had me stumped all the way through. I never saw the ending coming, and it's one of my favorite things in a story.

Whew! This book got my heart pounding!

You Kill Me stressed me out! I literally felt like I was right there…waking up everyday with the main character, trying to figure out how this off the rails book was going to end.

Excellent thriller, I love how the author pushes the boundaries and gives us a dash of horror here and there. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end!

You should read this twisting, turning, looping tale.

This story opens with a touching and sensual yet brutally violent scene involving a killing. The opening scene is intense and short--great writing to give us a puzzling view into husband's confounding situation. (Somehow I got over the opening on a dark and stormy night--no kidding.)

By the second chapter, I swear I'm in for less than three hundred words so far, and I've looped through the same dang nightmare twice. Both resulting in the husband's death.

What's the Star Trek Next Generation episode where the opening scene is a poker game where the officers play a hand and then get called to the bridge where the Enterprise is destroyed (fade to black) and then after the credits the next scene is a poker game where the officers play a hand and then get called to the bridge where the Enterprise is destroyed (fade to black) and then after the commercial break the next scene is a poker game where the officers notice they're remembering details as they play a hand and then get called to the bridge where the Enterprise is destroyed (fade to black)...

In chapter 5, even the protagonist thinks this might be Groundhog Day.

Starting fairly early in the book, the author layers in backstory in a juxtaposed timeline running from a decade ago moving forward. The reader bounces between current looping time, experiencing the husband's death over and over, and historical time coming forward year by year. The backstory brings us through a typical first decade of a married couple's trials, tribulations and joys. I loved the two timelines as a technique for delivering info. The writer gave info in solid doses at just the right time.

Just as I got used to the rules in this supernatural world, the author deftly changed a rule. I feared the mutations might come, and I loved them all the same.

Along the way, you realize the writer is giving you a few clues about the plot, and more importantly, a couple clues about the overall arc of this book. Pay attention. The ground shifts.

One central question Seth struggles with: Is there anything he can do to win back his wife? The big question of the book is: Why? Fabulously, the "Why question" keeps reloading.

I'm not a fan of the ending, but I left my rating at 5-stars simply on the well done the looping idea.

And you should read about this strange couple and decide what you think.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book for free. I am posting this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

The beginning was fantastic! It set the tone for the novel very well and I was immediately pulled into the story. The atmosphere following that also had me on edge with the clever use of a thunderstorm that gave off a great spooky vibe.
I don't know what I was expecting, but with every bit of information learnt, I grew more horrified with the characters. I no longer trusted what I was reading, and questioned whether there was something hidden underneath the dialogue.
I was hoping to find out more about the characters, to feel more connected with them with more snippets of their lives, as I think that would've made the plot twists feel even more betraying.
I was ultimately shocked by the ending, though. Seriously, I never expected that of all things to happen.
Also, the bonus chapter at the end was absolute gold, and I thought it was fitting for the story.

I got this book for free from BookSirens in exchange for a review, but this doesn't in any way impact my opinions.

I was very excited to read this book. The premise was good, something I would definitely enjoy, downloaded it onto my KOBO libra 2 and spent the last 3 days reading it, trying to find a moral to the story, and find out the real reason why the main character keeps dying...then the book took an unrelated turn. It starts off quite good, then halfway through the middle, it kind of repeats itself like a groundhog day kind of situation and it gets kind of old. To be honest it's something that I would not read again. Unfortunately it was a waste of time.

I'm really not certain how I feel about this one, I found myself quite confused.
The idea of it I did find good but then reading it I was going between being bored and wanting to read more.
I still don't understand how the loop happenedned though.

Enjoyable overall; started at five stars (probably the first ~half) but the characters seemed less intelligent, less likeable, and less realistic as the story progressed. Good pace, an easy read, some surprising twists.

**Potential spoilers**

This was a great book! The main character, Seth, wakes up to find his wife, Kendra, trying to kill him. She does, and then he wakes up to discover that he's not dead, and she's trying to kill him all over again. Why does she want him dead? Well, that's what he spends the book trying to figure out, as well as trying to stay alive long enough to know the reason.

The author leads with trigger warnings in the beginning of the book, which is really nice and helpful. Just like in her book Rainier, she goes straight into the action without any preamble.

The book goes between past and present, so you can see how their marriage progresses during the 10 years they've been married (and how much they've changed). That really helped me understand Kendra and Seth better. When I read their wedding scene, I knew immediately something was off with Seth. However, I was reading digitally, and it's harder to flip to the end of the book to confirm suspicions when it's digital (yes, I'm one of those people), so I didn't bother.

The being killed by his wife over and over again did get a little repetitive after awhile. Thankfully, it changes a bit each time as he learns from his mistakes. I realize that's the whole point of the book and he has to figure out why she's doing this in order for it to stop, but it did get hard to remember if he was alive or dreaming at a point. I found myself re-reading sections because I wasn't sure. This could also be because I started the book at 9pm and finished it at 1:30am, so I was tired. 😁

What isn't quite clear at all is if he's awake through the whole book or actually sleeping. It's really hard to tell and I was never able to figure it out myself. I finally just assumed he was awake the entire time. And I wished there had been some explanation for why the time loop had happened, but it's not like it's eating away at me to know.

The short chapters did bug me a little. Maybe there's a thought process behind them that I'm not grasping, but it seems unnecessary to have a chapter be half a page. I don't understand why all authors do short chapters.

And then at the end, there's a huge plot twist that I didn't see coming! It made me go, "Whaaaat?" If it had been a physical copy of the book, I'd have thrown it across the room! 😂 Not in a bad way. More like an, "I can't believe that just happened and I'm so flabbergasted right now, I can't even think!" type of way. Plot twist even bigger than the one she had in Rainier.

While I would like to know more about Kendra and Seth, they would each need their own episodes of Criminal Minds. How they ended up where they did is a complete mystery that the BAU team can solve another day.

I would definitely recommend this book. It's plot is unlike any I've read before with unexpected twists and turns along the way. If you're looking for a good psychological thriller, this is a good one to pick up!

Thanks to the author for giving me an advanced copy. This review is all my own.

This is the third book by K. Lucas that I have read, and I have yet to be disappointed. The writing as usual is fantastic and the story is intriguing to say the least.

The story opens with a man named Seth waking up to a thunderstorm, in bed next to his wife Kendra. Hes aware that she's moving in the bed. Shes on top of him and he's thinking it's time for fun when she suddenly plunges a knife into his chest over and over until he's dead. He wakes up again, in the same scenario, over and over again, not understanding why it is his wife wants him dead. Hes stuck in some kind of weird murder loop that he cannot get out of. Wake up, get murdered, die, wake up, and repeat. Knowing he cannot live in this loop; he decides to try to figure out just what is going on.

After being killed several times and trying to figure out just what is going on, he manages to avoid her long enough to do some investigating. It doesn't take him too long to figure out just what has been going on and why she wants him dead. Once he figures it out, the story really picks up. I really love a good story with a twist and this one has a huge twist with one big reveal after another!

I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed this story. The characters, the setting and of course the "Groundhog Day" effect. This story will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat and has an ending you will never see coming. If you enjoy a good thriller, then this is the book for you! I received this book free from the author for an honest review.

This was such a heart pounding read! I really felt like I was stuck along with Seth. And the entire time, I’m wondering why his wife has such a vendetta against him! I wasn’t sure whose side I should be on, then that twist of an ending showed me exactly whose side I should choose. This was one of the weirdest books I have ever read. Kendra and Seth totally deserve each other Seth keeps waking up with Kendra punching a knife into whatever part of his body she can get to. Yet, every time he wakes up he tries to do it differently to try in the figure out why it keeps happening. At first the more he learns the more confusing it is but the more the reader learns the more confusing it is… A good kind of confusing but confusing still at all. This was one of the most original crazy awesome fun books I have read in a very long time. I really enjoyed the sport and highly recommend it if you love a little crazy then you’re definitely going to love this book. I think the author did a fantastic job creating something original and worth reading. I received this book from book Sirens in the author but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes I am blind and dictate most of my review.

This book was like a spooky version of "Groundhog's Day". Seth and Kendra are a couple with many secrets between them. They both want something that has not been attainable to them and are willing to go to extremes to acquire it. Their wedding has a late start and it is almost an omen leading the reader to think that it would have been better to not have happened in the first place. At first I felt sorry for Seth as he keeps reliving a horrible act over and over. As the story unfolds I find it hard to find any if the character's redeemable.

The blurb sounds like a movie I once watched year ago...(can't remember the name though it was something like the girl wakes up on her birthday and get killed by a stranger and wake up on her bed again and this follows and follows)..ok now about this book...it was fantastic!! The storyline ( I thought it would be completely like the movie but it wasn't) was amazing!
So many twists...so many shivers run down my spine...uffff ... it's a MUST read!!

This book was so good! As soon as I read the summary, I thought to myself, hmmm this sounds like a messed up version of Groundhog Day. And it definitely is, but in the best way!

Seth wakes up in bed next to his wife Kendra, who proceeds to kill him. It keeps happening over and over again until Seth can figure out why and stop the loop.

A quick read that I greatly enjoyed, I look forward to more from this Author.

I’ve read books where the woman wakes up every morning and can’t remember anything and has to start over everyday but Seth waking up every morning and being killed everyday over and over is a crazy new theme! I liked reading all the different ways he tried to end the repeat of him dying. Just when it was like okay this is getting a little repetitive the flashbacks to previous years were great to break it up before going back hard to his daily adventures in trying to stay alive. The real story of Nick was a shocker as was the ending, omg! This book is definitely different than anything out there! Wild action filled read! This story was like a horror version of Groundhog’s Day. Seth was stuck in a loop where his wife is trying to kill him. Every time he falls asleep, he wakes to her attempting murder. Each time, he tries something different, and somehow it didn’t seem very repetitive.

The ending was pretty wild, and overall I enjoyed this book!

This was so weird. I love this author because she/her/they is the weirdest. This was some weird shiz. These books are never predictable.

Very entertaining book. You would think a time loop would make the action repetitive, but no, nothing like that. There are always new stuff happening, with lots of twists and turns. We're kept in the dark all along about the personality and the endgame of each character. This was a great book. I'm giving it 4 stars

A groundhog day of your own death. How tired you get when your life is threatened from the time you wake up by the last person you'd expect ... your wife. Hopong to break the loop you need to figure out why she wants to kill you. How many times will she kill you before you finally break the loop.
