This was my first encounter with the author's work. I've seen posts and reviews and wanted to try her work. This was a perfect story for that purpose. It's a shorter story that still manages to share a hot, sensual, heartwarming story.

Skye wants to explore the world of BDSM. She has had images and ideas since her teens and they get her hot and bothered. She doesn't see herself as a true submissive and she very much needs her control, but yet...
And that is what leads her to contact an on-line BDSM group and arrange contact with a Dom who trains submissives. She does her homework and conducts her investigation. Now it is time to meet Adam Dunne. One look of the confident, attractive man striding toward her in the coffee shop and Skye knows that things just got real- really fast.

Adam meets with Skye and learns much about her from what she shared through their earlier e-mail contacts and the encounter at the coffee shop. She claims to not be submissive and that she only wants to get whatever she is feeling out of her system. But she is denying her true self. He doesn't doubt she needs her control and her distance for whatever reason. He does, too. This is why he never gets involve with the submissives that he trains.

Their first night of play rattles them both. Skye learns that a one and done will not work and Adam learns that breaking through Skye's walls and gaining her trust may very well break his own control. Do they fight what is going on between them or accept?

The story is short (half of my edition was intros to other books) and probably needed some more page time to be completely satisfying. But, for the page count, it did a good job of introducing and developing the characters and beginning to develop their relationship through their scenes and their outside world developing friendship. It was definitely rushed from the point of the big conflict to the end and that was somewhat disappointing, but it did cover the major points, nonetheless.

The BDSM elements were treated with knowledge and felt right. Adam's Dom side was sadistic, but caring of his sub. He was patient and allowed for a learning curve when it came to Skye. I liked seeing that. He earned her trust and didn't abuse it. Skye was pretty much sent reeling by what she discovered about herself through their play and even the days between sessions when they drew close and earned each other's respect and appreciation. They, as a couple, were believable and I enjoyed their hot, sensual sessions. I just wish it hadn't been so rushed to the end.

In summary, I liked my first encounter with the author and would definitely read more of her work. She handled her BDSM world well. I would recommend this for those who are looking for a quick one-sitting read with mild to moderate BDSM elements and well-drawn characters.

Breaking Skye by Eden Bradley takes us on a short journey of intense attraction. Adam and Skye’s connection to each other was felt with their first meeting. Not only could they feel it, but I could as well.

Skye naively believes she can get over her BDSM fantasies if she partakes in a scene. Adam knows this will not be the case. Neither of them can explain their attraction. Adam never falls for his trainees. Skye never falls for any man. Together, we experience a beautiful story of love, healing and the power of a good, sexy spanking.

For me, Breaking Skye, is on the sweeter side of BDSM. It’s a great novella that takes us through what really could be described as love at first sight. Of course, there were obstacles to overcome and hot sex to be had for our wonderful characters. It wouldn’t be a great story if not for those very things.

Eden Bradley, who also writes as Eve Berlin, has become one of my favorite BDSM authors. She writes larger than life heroes; sexy, intelligent heroines and realistic emotions that will have you feeling every moment. I often wish I could crawl inside Miss Bradley’s books and be the lucky heroine she writes about.

Ugh, I want my $2.99 back! This story line could have so much potential. but it was too rushed and the author left a lot of holes....

First I’ll just get to the point and say how much I loved Breaking Skye. Novellas aren’t usually my favorite reading length, as the stories are often too short for satisfying character development. I was completely taken in by this one from the first page. While I like BDSM stories that take place in clubs and with experienced players, I really appreciate one where the woman is new to the lifestyle, but not clueless. Skye is a strong, intelligent and independent woman who has harbored submissive desires long enough to finally reach out to someone online. When she meets Adam, a longtime Master, she is captivated from the first moment. Adam trains submissives, but doesn’t become involved with them emotionally. Little does he know that Skye will challenge his boundaries. He can’t help but be inexplicably drawn to her. Their scenes are hot, but about to become hotter if he can’t control his desire for not only her mind, but her body.
I loved Breaking Skye because I found it to be so believable. Bradley captures the emotions of a new sub perfectly, from the infatuation of the first meeting, to her first time in subspace, to the languid calm that one experiences during aftercare. The actual play is fairly tame, but it goes to show that enjoyment of a story, just like a scene, is not so much about the actions that take place, but how they’re spun together to capture the mind. A simple spanking can be more erotic than the dirtiest sex if done right and this story really delivered for me on that front. Skye’s initial resistance and apprehension, her blatant fear, is spot-on. Adam’s dating life is a bit of a shock to the reader, but also very real life. I loved that the action was in a bedroom, not in a club. No intricate bondage or spectacle sex, just real D/s exploration that rung true. I few more scenes would be awesome Ms. Bradley! I’d love to see these characters again.

Breaking Skye is a lovely story about Skye and Adam. Skye has these urges, these submissive urges. She seeks out a Dom to help her purge herself of these urges. She feels like once she tries a little BDSM, she’ll no longer have these urges or desires. It’s all an experiment.

After placing an ad and meeting Adam, Skye heads over to Adam’s house for her session. Skye, of course, follows all safety protocols. She checked his background and let someone know where she was going.

The session between Skye and Adam was hot! I little spanking, a little (big) orgasm (or two or….) and some after care. No sex though, because Adam doesn’t have sex with those he’s training. Cardinal rule for him!

Even though this was a really short story, I got quite a bit out of it. The character development was not as deep as it is in longer books, but I got enough that I was able to connect with Skye and Adam.

Skye is a pretty normal girl. She’s adventurous and wants to explore. Adam is a conundrum. I don’t want to say too much as I don’t want to give it away. But it did leave me going “HUH?” He was not quite what I expected and it was a lovely surprise!

The scenes between Skye and Adam were hot and I loved them. Their connection was instant (almost insta-love) and intense. Eden Bradley managed to cover quite a bit of ground in this short story.

I really have a love/hate relationship with this story. I loved it. It was quick, it was hot, and very enjoyable. I hate it because it was so short. I wanted to explore Skye and Adam’s relationship. I wanted a bit more from them in terms of sessions and playing and sex and romance.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Skye Ballard is an artist wants nothing more than let go of control for one night. Adam Dunne is just the man she needs, except he wants her for more than one night. Intense physical attraction leads to an amazing adventure into the world of BDSM. Skye wants more; Adam has awakened things inside of her that she didn’t even know existed. Both fighting against their past; each asking for things neither are sure they can give. Can Adam and Skye learn to let go of the past so they can move to the future…

I really enjoyed this novella. Even in such a short story you grow attached to the Skye and Adam. Eden Bradley has such a way with words and she knows her BDSM. I have a tendency to get lost in her stories. You feel every pinch, every spank, and every fiber of the ropes or metal form the chains that so often bind her characters. Ms. Bradley sucks you into worlds that you may have only dreamed about and causes you to want more. Eden Bradley is an auto buy author for me. I can’t wait to see what she brings next.

Skye has had a desire for kink for quite some time & has decided it's time to explore her interest. She believes she can quickly quench her desire & move on, chalk it up to an experience, until she meets Adam Dunne. Adam affects her during their first meeting. He is similarly affected but his years of experience in the scene overrule his desires during their first couple of sessions. Naturally, that control wanes & he's left with a decision-overcome is fear of intimacy or let Skye go.

This feels eerily similar to The Dark Garden only reversing the positions of the players complete with the art interest & one of the protagonists being an artist. Only difference being Skye is a novice whereas all the players in the previous book were. It's not a bad little read, just underwhelming.

First I have to say, I want More Adam!! If you want some light bdsm, then definitely pick up this story!!

Skye has secret submissive desires, and Adam is just the man to help her explore her needs. Of course things have been discussed and rules in place, but rules are made to be broken. Adam only does vanilla sex, and never sex with subs. That is until Skye breaks down his guard and he can no longer resist his feeling for her or the connection they share.

Loved the story line and that it wasn’t all about the kink, but the characters and the feelings too. Author Eden Bradley drew me in and made me feel the desire, and anticipation between this couple and left me wanting more!! The only thing that could make this sexy, emotional read any better is if there was more to read!!

This was a prize I won from the very lovely Ms. Bradley. This is a very short novella about Skye, interested in playing with submission. The man she finds, is a dom who tries to convince her that one time isn't enough. This book was a sweet little read for me. The speed at which the two fell for each other was rather unbelievable. Unlike the title of the story suggests, I didn't really see a breaking of Skye.

This was one of the earlier works of Ms. Bradley so I'm going to give it a bit more latitude in terms of erotic writing. This short novella is best for those who are vanilla and just want a little hint of spice.

This was too short! That's my major complaint. And I really loved how real the characters were written to be, I felt sorry for Adam when he was resisting again Skye's influence on his feelings and his overall concept on the training relationship between the two of them. I can't wait to read the other books by Eden Bradley. Definitely intense and steamy from beginning to end, but the biggest thing I liked was that Skye's cousin guided to do research and do lots of research before jumping into something she didn't understand. Research, research, and even more research and learning. :)

Really nice short story read it in one day. Fast passed and super sexy. If you are into kinky play in your romances then this is a good book to get your hands on. The characters were likable and it seemed like they really had a good idea of the lifestyle. Most books like this don't break down the lifestyle like this one did and I really enjoyed reading that side of it.

After reading a lot of Eden Bradley novels, I pretty much knew what to expect. I rated this 4 because of the erotica and the short story wasn't that bad. This is like a short version of her novel "The Dark Garden".

The whole story felt clinical - here is what you say here and how you describe this, etc. Very boring and no real connection to the characters or any feeling of a spark between them

If you enjoyed the 'sanctuary' likely you will enjoy this book. For me it was disappointing for the cost of the books.
