What a fabulous book! After my last 2 very heavy reads, this was most welcome. The writing style reminded me very much of John Irving, albeit written in a woman’s voice (and not nearly as Freudian as Irving!). The story was well composed, compelling and all wrapped up at the end. The main character, Elizabeth, was wonderfully conceived and created - it’s nice to read about a strong woman especially in a novel set in the late 50’s and early 60’s. Bravo!
I would find myself starting a chapter and wondering where it was going of.if anything was going to happen, to finding myself laughing out loud at some of the things said either Elizabeth or Mad. Six Thirty was definitely my favorite though
It was an interesting story, funny in a way and relatable, and the way chemistry is mixed into the plot made it feel fresh and entertaining. Definitely recommend it if you want something light but with a bit of learning too.
