This series is cute, but Amon has a LOT of red flags in his dialogue. He is possessive, temperamental, and redirects his bad behavior onto Briddy's actions. Typical shojou male lead, but it is 2023, and we need to move past that.

Once again, this one seemed a little sub par.
I understand that we should be caring more and more for our main characters... but why then do they seem more and more air headed?

Blondina and her "kitty cat" both are gradually becoming infuriating

It seems like the author wants to "stretch" the series to release more books - which is a valid strategy, yes - but it may certainly be to the detriment of the story itself

And while the progression of the other characters is somewhat (slightly?) interesting, I am unsure if I will be finishing this series to be honest

I miss when the male lead was always a cat. I know it's common with Korean webcomics/manhwa that the dude's torsos are completely disproportionate to the rest of their bodies but dear god. This guy...it's like a tiny little head on top of a giant rectangle. I guess I shouldn't complain because at least he doesn't also have a 12-pack.

Also...Blondina. Why. Surely you could've come up with a better name for your main character who is also blonde?

In Summary
The sibling rivalry intensifies! Although Blondina escapes the “stimulant incident” with her life, others involved in the plot do not. Adellai’s quick to kill attitude and maniacal eyes are starting to feel stale, but it is interesting to see Blondina develop into more than a victim who needs rescuing. And although Blondina’s not actually interested in the throne, Lart is. Things are bound to get a lot messier between the three siblings as the power struggle continues.

The Review
Amon comes to Blondina’s rescue, foiling Adellai’s plans. With this, the story plunges into full royal succession struggle mode. It doesn’t matter that Blondina harbors zero ambitions of taking the crown. She nearly got murdered, and things clearly won’t end there. Thus, sweet, mild Blondina quickly grows a backbone in order to confront first the Dehills and then Adellai. Blondina’s declaration, “What I need right now isn’t someone else’s power, but my own, so I can protect my people,” shows how drastically she’s changed.

In the meantime, Adellai doubles down on her efforts against Blondina and the Divine Beasts. She’s definitely painted as the villain here – not showing the slightest hesitation to eliminate foes and inconvenient allies alike. Although jealousy is at the root of her vehemence, she’s unfortunately starting to feel one-dimensional – spouting the same pompous line about taking back what was stolen from her whether she has the upper hand or in mortal danger.

As for the person at the center of this sibling rivalry, he’s behaving annoyingly out of character in this volume. After Amon returns Blondina to her family, her father suddenly gets a conscience. His very belated guilt over Blondina’s suffering doesn’t feel genuine though. He’s the king for crying out loud. Given his power and resources, he had a whole lot of options if he truly wanted to secure Blondina and her mother’s welfare. The lack of resentment in Blondina’s reception of his apology doesn’t feel genuine either. After all, this is the same gal who was happy to dish punishment to the abusive innkeepers. One could argue that her father’s abandonment was as bad as their behavior or worse. Not to mention, the king has not and still is not doing a thing to quell the hostility between his children. In a sense, he’s to blame for this vicious sibling rivalry, and the man is too oblivious or incompetent to stop it.

Ugh. FFS I’m tired of Adellai and Philip. The story has taken a serious nosedive. Does it make sense that the emperor didn’t investigate the extremely suspicious runaway sled? The mysterious deaths of two close friends of the twins (though Lart didn’t seem to care about their deaths, and Adellai is suspiciously nonchalant, if anyone were paying attention). Briddy’s whole confrontation was totally unnoticed by the rest of the party, who seem to have accepted easily that the ruler of the divine beasts has shown up out of nowhere to hang out. Briddy is feeling stupidly guilty for Adellai being nuts…I can’t stand when they make FL this illogical and weak.

Philip flipped pretty quickly into a bad guy after his supposed obsession with Briddy. I do wonder if he intentionally warned her, but it doesn’t matter, he’s a creep. He’s summoning secret guards right in the presence of all the royals (funny how the empress is never mentioned or shown except when vital to the plot, she doesn’t exist otherwise), and murdering maids right in the palace. No bloodstains to get rid of? So stupid that Joseph can now control divine beasts (the whole nonsense with the god is ridiculous IMO), when a second before he couldn’t make it kill a butterfly. The power should be diluted after all these generations, but nope. Fearing for his life just unlocked his power and now the divine beasts are in trouble.

The emperor has been rewritten as if he’s a caring father who didn’t realize he threw Briddy to the wolves when she first came. It’s also his fault for teaching his daughter that ruling the beasts is the only path, and simultaneously telling both twins they were the next ruler.

The artwork is pretty but the writing is

I normally give these graphic novels 4 stars because I think the artwork is incredible, the story is enjoyable, and I like the character arch's for several different characters. I gave this volume a 3 instead of a 4 though because it felt like a lot more of this volume focused on Adellai opposed to Briddy and Amon. I understand readers need those portions of the story to keep everything moving along as well as drive up suspense as the reader discovers danger the main characters are unaware of, but I wished those sections were a little more condensed. The overall story is supposed to center around Briddy and her relationships, but I felt only half the book focused on her, which was disappointing. Still, the series itself is enjoyable and I look forward to reading Vol. 6 once I can get my hands on it.

Wow, was ein Band. Blondina hatte sowas von Glück, dass Amon rechtzeitig da war. Ich bin auch froh, dass Amon gegenüber dem König kein Blatt vor den Mund genommen hat und dieser Amons Worte auch verstanden hat. Die Intrigen von Adellai gehen echt zu weit, dass sie mittlerweile über Leichen geht, und ich glaube, es wird sich immer mehr zuspitzen. Blondina selbst hat jetzt auch den Entschluss gefast, nicht mehr nur zuzusehen, sondern auch Eigeninitiative zu zeigen. Philip ist genauso schlimm wie Adellai, was die beiden zu einem echt gefährlichen Duo macht. Amon und Blondinas Gefühle füreinander sind da echt eine willkommene Zuflucht vor dem Ganzen. Freue mich schon auf den nächsten Band, da ich keine gute Vorahnung habe.

Tome 5 tu t’affirme & j’aime bien cette détermination !
On retrouve Bridie plus coriace que jamais mais toujours un peu naïve avec Amon quoi qu’on fait un peu de progrès dans ce domaine aussi 🤣
Amon est plus possessif que jamais & perso j’aime bien 🤭
Quant à l’Empereur je pense qu’il comprend certaines choses mais un peu tard.
Lart on te vois pas beaucoup dans ce tome mais je t’aime de plus en plus 🥺
Je sens que Rodson cache plus de chose qu’il veut bien nous faire croire & peut être même un double jeu avec l’autre folle.
Et puis il y a… Adelai. Vous voulez pas on l’enferme & elle fait plus chier personne !!! Au secours je l’a déteste 😩

Siento que Joseph es un buen chico que se cruzó en el camino equivocado (siempre ando queriendo ver a todo el mundo de bueno), quiero decir, ¿Él que iba a saber si era o no descendiente de Barahan? Nadie nace sabiendo eso, estoy segura.
Adelay supo manipularlo, siento que de no haberlo encontrado él habría sido tipo Lily o Briddy, una buena persona.

This one got darker than i expected. Also ,I can see why people get annoyed at Amon because of his possessiveness and being tempermental, but I feel like it works in the story because he is a divine beast. Thankfully Blondina is finally standing up for herself and doing things like confronting her older sister without relying on Amon.

Dropped it at episode 57. I cannot be the only one that got Blondina's furry vibes. It was weird as hell. It ruined the story for me and the worst is that it was unnecessary.
