Charity, a quiet and proper girl, believes everyone is acting ridiculous over the recent killing of a young boy in the Welsh woods. Things happen. Certainly, it wasn’t a punishment for their sins.
Charity’s new stepfather wants to marry her off and continue his role as town leader, intent on bringing back the practice of witch burning. On an errand for his father, Charity stubbornly follows Charles into the woods, hoping to stop him.
The pair soon become lost, delirious with hunger, and stumble upon a house so magical it looks good enough to eat.
Freyja is like no one Charity has ever seen, but Charles knows exactly what she is…The witch he’s been assigned to find. Freyja's fearlessness sparks something inside Charity—a longing suppressed for years—and Charles lust for Charity follows soon after.
But Freyja has one no one passes through her woods without payment.

This is an F/F/M (female, female, male) story, so if that's not your jam, maybe skip it... or try it and see if you like it, ya never know. I never read the first book, The Wolf of the Woods, so The Wicked Witch of the Woods is my first read by Savvy Rose, and it did not let me down!
I absolutely loved this! Hansel & Gretel Retelling, but add a lot of spice, self discovery, independence, and you have one hell of a book. That cliffhanger!!! I cannot wait to read the next book!
This is the second book in Savvy’s Forbidden Fables series; a Hansel & Gretel retell.
Charity and Charles are step siblings living in a time where religion control your life, especially for a woman. There job was to marry, have kids, cook and clean; and never disobey their husband.
“Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.”
Charity finds herself attracted to a female friend who she meets up with in barn and makes out with her. Charity is figuring out her own sexuality while being under a watchful eye of the religious step father and brother.
Charles is in love with his step sister and try’s to fight his feelings because of what he was taught tells him so. Charles is set out in a mission to find the witch, whom they think is taking and killing men. Charity tags along, they end up lost in the woods. They stubble upon a cabin in the woods and meet Freyja.
Freyja becomes smitten with Charity and Charles wanting to keep them both as her lovers/pets. Lots of spice with all 3.
“You have pleased me, pet, but also awakened my hunger.”
Trouble ensues when Garm (Freyja’s Grandfather, also a werewolf) brings Thomas (step dad to Charity/Dad figure to Charles) back to the cabin and kills him.
This book is left on a cliff-hanger! Can’t wait for book 3! This book is a spicy read with F/F, F/M and FFM scenes. Make sure you check triggers!

I was one of the lucky few to have had a sneak peek at The Wicked Witch of the Woods by Savvy Rose.
Let me tell you, she turns out the lights and cranks up the spice! 🔥
This Hansel and Gretel retelling is book two in her Forbidden Fables series, the first being The Wolf of the Woods: a saucy revamp of the classic Red Riding Hood tale.
I admire the efforts she put into this story. It appears she did her research on the time period, kept the most important elements from Hansel and Gretel, and added so much creative flair, I couldn’t help but to keep flipping the pages.
I don’t typically read spicy books… I crave a lot of backstory, connection, and depth in my reads. Savvy offers all of that in her stories.
Thank you, Sav, for the ARC. The cover is gorgeous and the characters were grand! I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Eternal damnation all because of a pulse beating between my thighs for both a man and woman.
Actual rating: 3.5 stars
Quick, horny and surprising erotica read, that has some fucked up beliefs about what woman should do and love. It's spicy book ya'll!
Charles and Charity are not real brother and sister, so what happens between them is not strictly speaking taboo. I did like Charles, but I was annoyed by Charity in the beginning. And in the middle of everything is Freya - witch, who loves blood of men, extravaganza and some freaky stuff.
It's pretty much straight up erotica, so you don't need to focus on plot haha
In general, I ended up not liking it as much as I thought I would, but I appreciate the effort and authors work in this genre, so that's why I upped rating for it.
Please check CW on authors page!
Thank you to Savvy Rose, for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review! All thoughts are my own and left voluntarily.
Genre: Erotic Romance Type: Standalone book 2 of Forbidden Fables POV: First person - multiple Rating: 3.75 Stars
As a young woman, Charity yearned to explore her wide range of desires. When her stepbrother was assigned to a task in the woods, she trailed after him. Exhausted and starving, they stumbled upon a cottage and the owner, Freya, both too tempting to resist. But indulging in their lust could have come at a deadly cost.
Charity was a wide-eyed innocent who readily opened her heart and passion. Because of his past, Charles was more cautious about jumping into the fire. Freya was alluring, and I liked how she wielded her power to avenge her people. Though some parts felt disjointed, I enjoyed the overall storyline.
Wicked Witch of the Woods is a story of trust and sexual exploration. It would appeal to readers who enjoy short, erotic fairytale retellings.
Note: The trio’s story doesn’t end in this book.

Living in a religious community in the Welsh Woods, Charity is under the suppression of her stepfather who happens to be the town leader. Her one salvation is her stepbrother, Charles, until they venture into the woods and meet Freyja, a truly a unique individual.
“Normal is an illusion. What is normal to a spider, is chaos to a fly.”
With this story being narrated in multiple POV, the unique experience and personality for each character is well plotted. With Charity being so sheltered, her natural urges have gone unexplored until Freyja introduces her to a more accepting way. Though Charles is sincere in his feelings toward Charity, he is harboring a secret that can potentially destroy them.
In this erotic fairytale, the sexual tension between Charity, Charles and Freyja is palpable. Combined with the relationship dynamic, the element of Charles’ knowledge and actions add complications.
Though parts of this story felt a little disjointed, it seems as though the books should be read in order and not as standalones for the best reading experience.
Charity lives in a religious, oppressive Welsh town ruled by Thomas—a malicious pastor figure who polices women’s sexuality and seeks excuses to resurrect the witch hunts. Charity is already secretly defying him by sneaking away to see Tris, a girl she’s been hooking up with in barns between piles of hay. But her desire for more (romantic, erotic, spiritual, anything more) and her refusal to fit the mold of a submissive future wife make her increasingly restless.
When mutilated bodies begin appearing in the nearby woods, Thomas uses the panic to tighten control over the town. Meanwhile, Charity convinces Charles—her stepbrother, friend, and occasional almost-lover—to venture into the woods with her to prove there’s no witch at all.
They find one, Freyja, a succubus-witch aligned with the Dark Mother, Lilith. She’s lush, feral, powerful, and instantly magnetic. Her home in the woods is impossibly lush, full of impossible flora and fauna, and dripping with sensual magic. Charity falls first—hard—and the book’s erotic heart beats in the dynamic between Freyja and Charity, whose sexual awakening is tender, hungry, and deeply affirming.
Charles is jealous, confused, terrified, and drawn in all at once. His arc is messy in a very human way—torn between repression, desire, and indoctrination.
But the three of them form a volatile, erotic, temporary little world together: nights in Freyja’s hot springs, seduction fueled by magic, an almost poly dynamic that feels as doomed as it is intoxicating.
Everything shatters when Charity and Charles discover a hidden room containing jars of severed tongues, fingers, and male body parts—a grotesque echo of the Hansel & Gretel roots. Charles panics and betrays Freyja, dragging her to the deacon, who reveals he’s a vampire and has been hunting Freyja for far longer than either of the young humans knew.
From here the tone switches from seductive and dreamlike to bloody and frantic. Freyja is caged in iron. Charity’s hands are bound. And Charles realizes too late the depth of his mistake.

Savvy Rose has done it again with her Forbidden Fables series, this time with her sexy retake on the tale of Hansel and Gretel!
The book starts off with the ever curious Charity who lives in a religious village with her mother, sister , step father and step brother Charles. She knows she must marry who her stepfather chooses for her yet she knows deep down she cannot possibly enter a loveless marriage especially when she desires women and has sinful thoughts of her stepbrother.
When the opportunity arises, she decides she will accompany Charles into the woods to seek out the witch who the town believes is responsible for the death of a few townsfolk. Charity does not know (or suspect) that Charles has an ulterior motive to finding the witch.
Starved and out of options, they encounter the alluring Freyja who provides them with warmth, food and the safety of exploring their hidden desires. Freyja has an agenda of her own yet she does not let it get in the way of her feelings for Charity and Charles despite their connection to her plans.
The world building was spectacular, the plot amazing and the way the author spun the tale in only the way she could was captivating! Everything was just so good and the spice was great as well!
Fair warning, this does end on a cliffhanger but oh the end makes the anticipation worth it!!!
Hands down the best Hansel & Gretel retelling I have ever read! Bravo, Savvy Rose!
I don't think this book has any TWs. I didn't see any but still double check.
This book is a FFM love story. If one would call it that. This is set at a time in the past and I normally don't enjoy these. But the wolf of the woods by this author was amazing and I had to give this one a chance. And boy am I glad I did.
This book had alot goin on and it was wel thought out and planted in the perfect time line. There was just the right amount of spice to keep me goin. And make was it steamy 🥵🥵
The "pastor" can fuck off he is such a twat! He has a vengeance and wants to try and get rid of women who enjoy sex because he feels it leads to witch craft and the causes of the missing/dead ppl. He's an idiot.
Charles. Hmm wat can I say about him. He was an odd character and I couldn't decide if I enjoyed him or not. Then he started doin kind things to protect or soften the blows that came her way. Then when all was said and done I honestly thought he had changed his tone. Nope that asshole fucked up and now he feels the pain. He will understand shortly wat it is he did wrong
I overall enjoyed the story much besides for the cliffhanger that shit killed me !!!

Ahhhh this was so good!!! You guys know how much I love a dark retelling, mainly I love seeing the original’s backbones with an added element of unique creativeness and this was it *chefs kiss* + that added spice (which was AMAZING), from beginning to end I literally couldn’t put this down. When I wasn’t reading, it was all I could think about
TWWOTW is a historical fantasy fiction set in a time where women were persecuted for being different and wanting different things. There were some prominent themes about gender roles, specifically how women are viewed as the weaker sex and how very wrong they are in that regard + amazing themes about sexuality and religion that I deeply esteemed, Savvy definitely knows how to get a point across and does it so well!! With fantastic writing, vivid storytelling, and a plot that has me intensely awaiting the next one (that ending had me REELING), I absolutely loved this one 🙌🏻😍
‘Normal is an illusion. What is normal to a spider, is chaos to a fly.’
This is my first book by Savvy Rose and I am beyond impressed. I jumped on the chance to read this solely based on the gorgeous cover, the FF/FFM aspect, and the fact that I adore retellings. This book was so much more than just that.
The Wicked Witch of the Woods is a 🔥spicy🔥 dark historical romance/Hansel and Gretel retelling. The world building was phenomenal and felt so authentic, I could easily picture everything as I read. The dynamic between Charity, Charles, and Freyja was everything. I was not expecting this story to end the way it did and I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
I want this to be my life, no fear, no guilt, just pure satiation. I want these two to fill my loneliness…together. I want to have them both, even if it meant staying here forever and leaving my family behind.
“I love your cunt…Mistress. I am your pet…use me.”
“Lick her clean, naughty boy, then fuck her.”
“You once belonged only to yourselves, and now we belong to each other.”
amazing. Her storytelling is absolutely on point and this book is no exception. Wicked Witch of the Woods is a Hansel and Gretel retelling mixed with history, forbidden love and characters who are all on a journey of self acceptance/discovery. Oh and don't forget the spice 🥵 I literally had to stop and get a glass of water. The ✨ group activities ✨ are so good 🔥
“You don’t get to come yet, sweet pet.” She pouts, looking at me from beneath her lashes. “Don’t worry, you will, but not yet. We won’t stop until you’ve both made a filthy mess.”
Freyja, Charity and Charles all have such a layered and complex relationship with each other. I can't wait to see how that moves forward. I was not expecting the cliffhanger and I'm looking forward to seeing how this story continues. This book is dark and I absolutely recommend checking the content/ trigger warning.

The Wicked Witch of the Woods is the 2nd book of the Forbidden Fables. This is a Hansel and Gretel retelling. Freyja is seeking vengeance against the man that killed her grandmother. Charles is on the hunt for the witch in the woods to repay a debt and Charity is out to prove how unfit the town pastor is. This story provides mystery, plot twist and an unexpected cliffhanger. I’m intrigued on the rest of the series.
This story was so intriguing and spicy and gut punching! The spiciest of hot spice. Hit all the buttons! Their dynamic and the allure of the Witch was absolutely wonderful. I loved it! I continued to love how she portrayed the flaws of society and allow the MCs to fight and win against them, and definitely violently. Check triggers, but definitely give it a read!
This was better than the first. Charity desires women and only one man. This was all spice. And it was HOT. Threesomes, FF, MF, this was 🔥🔥 There was more backstory and kind of a plot to this one. If you want a quick spicy read, this is it.
This book was recommended to me on a Facebook group. So I wasn't aware it was the second of a series. I will be reading the other retelling. A compelling read and an interesting new side to the old Hansel and gretel fairy tale
