Eldon doesn’t care what Tatum William Bixby the third thinks, he absolutely will not allow the Snowda Shoppe to become some corporate monstrosity. Mistletoe Falls is Eldon’s home, his life’s work, and some stuck-up, irritating, rich grinch will not ruin their small town spirit—no matter how gorgeous and intriguing Eldon finds the annoying newcomer.
Baby it’s cold outside. Frigid even, if the adorable Eldon’s reaction to Tate’s arrival in Mistletoe Falls is anything to go by. His plan to secretly escape to the small town for a much needed break has turned into a challenge to drive Eldon over the edge.
Sweet Eldon has a bite to him, though, and when Tate’s secret emerges, he and Eldon reach a holiday crisis of their own. Will the magic of Mistletoe Falls finally miss its mark, or did Eldon and Tate find love at frost sight?
If you love fated mates, enemies to lovers, and magical elves, er, sprites, who make the season bright, this holiday romance will leave you in pepper-mint condition.
Macy Blake believes in unicorns and fairies, in moonbeams and stardust, and that happily ever after comes in all colors of the rainbow. When she’s not busy at the day job, she loses herself in paranormal romance, living vicariously through her favorite sexy fictional heroes. These days you can often find her pounding away at the keyboard, trying to capture the magic of her own worlds.
It feels like half the book is missing. Eldon knocked on the Snowda Shoppe's door for half an hour? FUCKING WHEN?! I feel like that was more important to the plot than mentioning (twice!) that Eldon has pyjamas that match the Sugar Plum room.
Cute but I think the first one is still holding the spot for the best one.
I just didn't feel the real spark with these two, and that could be due to the animosity. I guess it's a love at first sight sort of thing but I'd have liked to actually experience that.
I dunno.
I wish there wasn't the written overlap too. Hopefully the final book will bring it home.
I liked it, though it did feel open ended about Tate's future. Curious about Colby. The bedroom was creepy. Sweet and straightforward with warm fuzzies. Possibly the softest enemies to lovers I've ever read.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Tate, an out of towner, has signed a fifty year lease on a shop in Mistletoe Falls and from the minute he and sprite Eldon meet, sparks fly; mostly frustrated, angry and snarky sparks. Amidst the fighting and banter, somehow they start to recognise in each other, something special - their other half. This one is also really sweet and when we meet Tate's BFF Colby, the fun increases. Wonderful seasonal fun.
These stories are whirlwind romances! Everything happened so fast! But I loved the characters and the puns. I would have wished for a little sexy time but had to be content with a little making out. Lol
This one is my favourite so far. I loved Tate and how he revved up Eldon so early. By not telling him what he wanted to know it drove him nuts and made for some great banter. The other couples have all been good but these two had a little bit more.
When it became evident that the four books were overlapping and intertwined, I decided to read all four before writing my reviews. The stories take place in the Chosen Universe though there is little reference to the fact.
Welcome to Mistletoe Falls where Solstice and Christmas are the town’s raison d’etre. The MCs, all sprites, only know that magic has been waning in the human realm. When four newcomers arrive in Mistletoe Falls within a two week stretch and start interacting with our MCs, the spite’s magic begins to manifest itself in strange ways. (Did no one from the larger Universe ever think to let the guys in on the knowledge that Fated Mates are happing all over?)
Each book is primarily about one couple, but we get glimpses of other interactions throughout, and those hints of what’s to come are explored in future books as seen through the eyes of those MCs.
Nyall: At first I was puzzled by the tone of the book, as it is nowhere near as serious as the other books from this universe. So. Many. Christmas. Puns. Nyall runs the local bakery, Mistledough and meets reporter Aaron who wants to do a story on the unusual town. Spark fly (literally) and the two feel the trope known as insta-love. I usually roll my eyes at the notion, but magic makes their mutual attraction.
Oberon: Sprite Oberon is the town handyman, and is hired to help the new local vet, Miles Lane and his adorably cheerful daughter (through surrogacy), Holly and their puppy, Ivy. This is probably my favorite of the four books. The chemistry feels more organic in this one for me.
Eldon: Sprite Eldon owns the local holiday/craft store Deck the Walls. It’s next door to the now closed (and sold) Snowda Shoppe. In this story we get to know the unnamed man from earlier as Tate. Tate has secrets of his own, and he loves to tease Eldon. Somehow there snarky flirtation grows though neither can really understand why. (It’s magic, duh).
Linus: Linus owns and runs the Tinseled Inn, the B&B in town. He’s highly dramatic and oblivious to the chaos he creates (which I found annoying). When Tate’s BFF, Colby comes to town. He and Linus don’t exactly hit it off, but little by little as Linus drops his bravado and let’s Colby know what’s really in his heart, the two find a kindred sense of unity. This story gets bonus points for the cameo at the end, which I will not spoil.
All in all, the series is fluffy and fun. VERY low angst and rather adorable. They make a welcome (if tonally different) addition to the Chosen One Universe.
Oh those fabulous Christmas sprites! Eldon, the serious one, gets his mate, in a story that runs almost concurrently with all the others. So we get mentions of events we know happened in the other Sprites romances.
Here in a not really “frenemies to lovers “ trope, it’s Tatum William Bixby III , new owner of the Snowda Shoppe, that has Eldon in a snit.
Tate won’t tell Eldon his plans for the shop and the mystery is making Eldon nuts, along with all the magical drama his cousins are causing.
Tate has his own personal reasons for fleeing to Mistletoe Falls. Tate grows on the reader as he wanders about town, falling into the charm of the town and its inhabitants, learning to love it and Eldon.
Once more, Blake has built on the previous books and storylines, and made this story and characters stronger. It’s a lovely romance and it’s leading up to the very last cousin, Linus, and his romantic partner. He’s here too.
Eldon is the third installment in The Christmas Sprites quartet, and just might be my favorite of the bunch. While these books are part of the author’s larger Chosen One universe, they don’t need to be read in conjunction with those books. However, this series does have a concurrent timeline with several overlapping plot points, so they are best read as a set.
Eldon and Tate have a such a wonderful banter between them, right from the start. Tate has a way of getting under Eldon’s skin, and he uses that to his advantage to needle the other man. Blake does a great job of walking the fine line of never taking it too far. It’s always presented in a way that shows that it’s all in good fun. Tate adores Eldon’s scowls and grumpy attitude, and Eldon thinks Tate’s strange. But the best part about that is Tate is able to be his true self, right from the start.
Eldon is anxious, cranky and distressed because someone bought the shop next door to his business and doesn't know who or what it was going to become. A a sprite not use to change, it throws him completely off. Tate is a rich businessman and is looking for a place to release the stress his dad puts on him to continue the family business. Hiding, he is afraid to give out who he is or what he is doing in case his family finds him. The only one he trusts is Colby his lawyer and best friend. The first meeting of Eldon and Tate don't go well as Eldon demands Tate's secrets and Tate sees a man he would just love to tease. Will this anger and teasing get in the way of the magic that starts to strengthen in Eldon as their bond starts to grow and will Tate be able to figure out how he can "have his cake and eat it too?" Magic, in the meantime, is getting just a little bit wonky.
Oh, this series keeps getting better and better! The stories overlap, so if you think you've read parts of it before, you have. This does not feel repetitive, just this the stories together. Eldon is the spritely cousin who finds his mate. Tate is keeping big secrets from him. Look for Mistletoe and magic, hot chocolate and decorations, Carol's diner and Nyall's cookies. You will be as enchanted as I was. You are gonna love this book! As this is a continuous story; please read the first two books. The last book comes out in a week. I can't wait!
I enjoyed it but ... the whole trope (in real life and fiction) of annoying someone and find their frustration amusing is very off-putting to me. Not triggering per se, but I don't find it cute to make someone upset. Banter yes, but Tate seemed to really get off on upsetting Eldon. There is less romance as some noted more just Tate pushing Eldon to be upset, and then ... no idea how it works out. I realize that will be wrapped up in the next book with Tate's friend and Linus but it felt just sort-of unfinished to me. I wanted to see how Tate was going to explain to his family what his real passion is and how he and Eldon could make it work. But it was still cute and Christmasssy.
I am really growing to love this series. What a great pick-me-up, and I need it since I'm currently fighting off the dreaded Covid. I knew I would love Eldon and I absolutely loved his love/hate relationship with Tate, his new mysterious and secretive neighbor.
If you are looking for a series to gift someone who is in need of holiday cheer sprinkled with a bit of elf magic, this is the one. I can't wait until the last book comes out. I hope Linus is sleighed by a new love. (Did I mention the author's penchant for holiday-themed puns?)
Small town. Christmas-y feels. Grumpy/sunshine. The "sunshine" is the flirty out-of-towner Tate, who's just bought a shop and plans on changing it. The "grumpy" is a magical sprite/elf who can magically decorate things for Christmas. Are these two fated mates? What happens when they discover each other's secrets? There was some spice, too. I could have used better banter between our two leading men. I'd love to have seen more build-up to their destined love. But overall it was cute and interesting!
Tate arrives to have some time away from his family business and to paint. He’s an anonymous artist, so the Snowda Shoppe is purely a front for his real work.
Eldon is dying to know what Tate’s plans are for the store next door, so they start bickering about secrets. This is their snark spark, and soon Eldon sees how Tate could be his fated mate.
Tate has never told anyone about his painting except his Mom and his best friend Colby, but Eldon figures it out.
Fun story with lots of back and forth wit, and an interesting brunch for the group, minus someone for Linus. Soon.
I love Macy blake's books, especially the "Chosen One Universe"! This series is a part of that universe just not directly connected to all the beloved characters in main series'. This 3rd book about the sprites finding love was just okay, it was a bit of mess for me. I don't like giving spoilers, so I can't exactly tell you what the mess for me was. 4 🌟's was given, for my love the this universe. Can't wait for Linus and his man!
Christmas has passed, but I'm still reading fluffy Christmas easy-read books. Macy Black has written four books about Christmas Sprites. They are just cute, easy reads that make us smile.
Eldon, shop owner, Part owner of the Inn, and a nosy neighbour. When the new owner of the shop next to Eldon has a new owner, Eldon becomes obsessed with what they will be selling, but Tatum William Bixby III isn't prepared to tell Eldon his secret. Great story, love and more. What more could you want on a grey, cold winter's day?
Eldon: Christmas Sprites Book Three Kindle Edition by Macy Blake (Author)
Just be aware, this really isn’t a full book. At best, it’s a short story, because there isn’t nearly enough detail about Eldon and Tate and how things work out. After all of the back and forth and magic happenings in the first story, the next two are sort of like ‘Fated mate? Cool, let’s get together.’ There is so much I still want to know. I’ll read Linus’ book because I’ve gotten this far, but I don’t have high hopes.
The first book in this series was just so good. It felt like we got more of the relationship between the 2 MC and got to know more about them. Unfortunately, this book is so short and there’s little to no romance between the two. At least the last book had some substance, this one didn’t. I hope Linus’ book gives us more information and more romance.
Eldon feels like it's a bit shorter than the last two books. The cliffhanger ending didn't really help. Perhaps Eldon and Tate's resolution will be in the final book. The story was sweet, Blake's very loose interpretation of enemies to lovers just a bit lightweight. It was enjoyable.. And I really can't wait for Linus' story to finish the series.
I liked the constant push and pull between Eldon and Tate. But like the 2 books before, I Feel like it finishes fast and that maybe there is more of an ending. I am used to that with Macy Blake's writing. This is good but I feel like the ending is missing a little something. 9/10
I thought the way that Tate drove Eldon crazy over what he was going to turn the shop into was just hilarious. You would think, after getting a couple of different answers, Eldon would have stopped asking. But, he didn't he kept asking and wanting to know.
Eldon and Tate fit in well with the rest of the series. I think Tate might be my favorite non Sprite in the books. Well, except for Holly.
Third in the series and I'm so hooked. Eldon is a bit more down to earth than Nyall and Obie, I think, a bit more cutting, maybe? I like the edge. I still want to see how Tate reconciles everything, that's the thing: each of these books ends in such a way that you need to know the next bit! But this was so cute, once again.
There seemed to be such discord between Eldon and Tate in the previous books, but I'm glad it was short lived. They were so cute together. I hope we get to see how they can make it work out to be together. Tate still had a bit to work out, but they truly are soulmates, so I know they are meant to be. Super cute and adorable.
The festive puns and dad jokes are off the walls in this series and had me snorting out loud at times, some lighthearted banter was just what was needed today, can’t wait to see what happens with the last sprite cousin
Tate and Eldon were a trip with Tate instantly liking Eldon but Eldon not instantly liking Tate. The push and pull continued throughout the story as Tate settled in for his month in Mistletoe Falls while Eldon's Magic amped up when Tate was near.
