FIVE STAR REVIEWS FOR LIQUID COOL SERIES
“Lots of shooting, lots of crazy maniacs, lots of action and fun!”
“I loved this book. It takes place in the future, and what a weird future.”
“A funny, intelligent (and sometimes crazy) main character…playing detective”
Austin Dragon is the author of the new military sci-fi Planet Tamers series, epic fantasy Fabled Quest Chronicles, the sci-fi detective Liquid Cool series, the international epic After Eden Series, and the classic Sleepy Hollow Horrors. He is currently working on new books and series in science fiction, fantasy, and classic horror!
He is a native New Yorker, but has called Los Angeles, California home for the last twenty years. Words to describe him, in no particular order: U.S. Army, English teacher, one-time resident of Paris, political junkie, movie buff, Fortune 500 corporate recruiter, renaissance man, dreamer.
‘Blade runner- ish’ meets Murder on the Orient Express …
Cruz gets up to even more shenanigans this time, when he blags a free all expenses, first class trip on the inaugural flight of the ‘Falcon Express’ – which by its description, gave me very Agatha Christie’s Orient Express vibes. !
Let’s be honest, you’ll need to suspend a lot of reality with the exploits of this book – but then again, IT IS A Work Of Fiction.
I personally found a lot of humour in Cruz’s exploits here, and as a light hearted piece of entertainment; this really works for me.
Part way through the book however, a character named KOBO is named KOJI for a short while, but this is perhaps because I was reading an ARC copy.
Overall, a rollickingly good way to pass some time.
My thanks go to the author, for the chance to read an advance copy of this book, in exchange for an unbiased review.
This is one of the best instalments of the Liquid Cool Spin-off series! Oh my! It’s fun, intriguing, full of suspense and mystery, exciting and entertaining, hair raising and hilarious, a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read! Austin Dragon @austin.dragon outdoes himself with each new book!
I highly recommend The Liquid Cool and its spin-off series.
The UFO Case by Austin Dragon is part of Liquid Cool: from the Crazy Maniac Files; and is number three in the series. This read is a sci-fi, detective crime thriller with some cyberpunk. It is action-packed and funny and the main character Detective Cruz is why. He is on the flight because his friend could not go and gave his ticket to Cruz. So he looks at this as a small vacation without his family. He does have some business to attend to while on this trip. He is aboard the Falcon Crest, the Earth's first hoverjet it is designed to travel the skies, seas, underwater, and of course into space. The Falcon Express is described as a palace in the sky but this hoverjet starts out at 40,000 ft in the air and travels at a speed of 700 miles per hour. The hovercraft is equipped with the, " Skywalker" engine system. This makes the craft "Uncrashable" . The system creates a protective energy field around the craft that is synced with the computer's mainframe, which keeps up with the speed and altitude. The system distinguishes when it will be safe to land. Then it will disengage. Cruz and two passengers heard something hit the craft. Then a man is seen on the wing and then he flies away. The people in charge want the passengers to think about something else so much so that they would try and spike their drinks and let them sleep till the end of the trip. Cruz let the passengers know what he overheard. They decide that's not what's going to happen and are making plans to take over. Then security along with an Air Marshal shows up on deck with a VERY big gun.The Crazy Maniac Files is about a flight that has Cruz and the passengers looking at a Maniac on the wing one minute, then the next the unidentified flying object is on the ship and they have nowhere to go. Or did they have somewhere to go? You'll be glad you've read Dragon's current book. I received a free advanced copy of this from Austin Dragon via BookFunnel and read on Kindle. I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book. The opinions expressed here are completely my own.
A fun and interesting cyberpunk detective story. Some interesting characters, especially the lead Cruz. Some repetitive and over the top stuff kept this from being 5 stars. Still a good read with interesting tech and twists.
All aboard the Falcon Express! Earth’s first royal luxury hoverjet designed to travel the skies, the seas, and into space. The dream of high-end travel becomes a Nightmare...at 40,000 feet! What or who is the UFO. This book is as good as many top books and movies ,you will love it. Do not miss out ,you will not be disappointed. I loved it.
The eponymous unidentified flying object in Austin Dragon's The U.F.O Case, is an unexpected 'man', who causes a near-riot in this riveting, dystopian thriller. An homage to Bruce Willis' Corbyn Dallas in The 5th Element, intrepid PI Cruz finds his 'vacation' aboard the Falcon Express super-hover-cruiser, anything but restful. Skulduggery and double-dealing are most definitely afoot from the get-go...and mysteriously, Cruz manages to get hired by 5 different people.
An unputdownable space odyssey, The U.F.O. Case is sure to grip you firmly by the imagination throughout - go grab a copy today and buckle up for a wild ride!
PI Cruz of the Liquid Cool Detective Agency Defeats Another Crazy Maniac
I was given a copy of this book as an ARC reviewer without the author's expectation for a positive review (except when you produce a quality book you expect quality acknowledgement) or further remuneration for me. The U.F.O. Case: Book III of the Crazy Maniac Files is another win for author Austin Dragon. His Liquid Cool Series of cyberpunk noir detective novels are always a step above most books found among the millions available through Amazon and other online retailers. I don't believe reviewers should tell what the story is, that is the author's job. The reviewer should tell how well the author told the story. In this case, and most of what Mr. Dragon writes, is another example of a fast, fun read. As the former owner of a one-man detective agency, I like to read detective stories, even if they are hundreds of years in the semi-dystopian future. Austin Dragon's books are told in a witty, first person narrative. The stories are clean-cut, well-written, and well-written works. The main characters are strong and well defined, while the minor characters are stereotypical, cookie-cutter, meant to add humor to the setting. The dialogue is believable, flows well, and is never just the foil for the story. I can't wait for the next Liquid Cool adventure.
The UFO Case by Austin Dragon. From the Crazy Maniac Files book 3. If you’ve never cracked a Liquid Cool book from Austin Dragon any of them would be a great one to start with, but do start. I did enjoy the heck out of this story as with all the other Liquid Cool stories. Although Cruz is a self-described street detective, he’s very seasoned now and not much shakes him. But maniacal terrorists have his life, and those of a few thousand others, in their hands. And they plan to end everybody just to get at one man. At least Cruz has some professional help this time around because he’s gonna need every bit of backup he can muster. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Cruz is just…cool. Unphased by any situation he finds himself in, in this adventure he is on the maiden voyage of the next great advance in travel. Little did he know there were many who wanted to turn this into the New Titanic… Continues the adventures of Cruz, private detective. A fun character, with a good amount of wit. Book was a bit slow in the middle, but lots of surprises and an interesting ending.
Another great story from Cruz as even travelling by air isn't safe from those who have nefarious purposes. The fact that every holiday seems to turn into a case is problematic but the story flows well as does the world building. Glad to see we have more coming in the future as well.
There’s lots of fun, action and danger to keep you intrigued. Easy reading that will draw you in and wanting more. Well written with strong characters.
