A Silver Fox for Kinkmas

Rate this book
I’m a commitment-phobe. He’s a widower. Is the true gift of Christmas each other?

All I want for Christmas is a sexy silver fox, and Cuffd Kinkmas events are the perfect places to find temporary Daddies for steamy hookups.

I don’t expect to get swept off my feet. I don’t expect to want more of Magnus.

Even though I’m freaking out, I can’t deny that he ticks all my boxes. He’s older, handsome, and firm enough to handle my brattiness. But when Christmas ends, will I run for the hills or be brave enough to stay?

A Silver Fox for Kinkmas is a May to December steamy romance with spankings, orgasm denial, a cock cage, and a talkative parrot. It’s part of the Naughty or Nice Season Three multi-author series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but there are so many Daddies and boys finding their happily ever afters, why not grab them all?

5 “Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is a kiss.” He tapped his lips. “Right here.” stars

“A hot silver fox with a furry chest and lots of stamina.”

Look, I have read 3 daddy kink books by Colette Davison this year, I rated all of them 5 stars, I clearly have a type. Colette Davison is probably my favourite author of the entire year and I have read and re-read her books so many times throughout the year that I lost count of the number of times. So, it’s no surprise that I absolutely adored this book. This author’s books are absolute comfort reads for me and I tend to pick them any time I have a small inconvenience in my life, and I need a pick me up. Let me just say, that this book won’t be an exception to the rule. Everything about this book just enveloped me into a bubble of comfort and put the biggest smile on my face. This book is such a feel-good story for me, and I loved every second of it.

Brief summary
Barney doesn't want to commit to a relationship, he just wants to find a hot silver fox he can spend a kinky and fun Christmas with. He goes to a kink event to find just that. He meets Magnus and they cannot stay away from each other, and they end up falling in love with each other

This book was just one of the sweetest things I read all year. I was reading this entire book with the biggest smile on my face because it just made me all mushy inside and it made me swoon so much. There was just something about this book that was so adorable, and the vibe of the book just worked for me for much, reading this book just made me so happy. The reading experience of this one alone was one of the best I had all year. This was just such a fun reading experience and everything about this book just worked for me. This is a low angst book that still has some conflict, which are my favourite and it also had a super adorable romance, very lovely characters that were a joy to read about and some really lovely sex scenes, so basically everything I need to adore a book. This was just the perfect mix of all my favourite things in a book and it really worked for me because of that.

“I was lucky to have met him. No one had ever made me feel as wanted and cared for as he did.”

When I said I have a type earlier, I truly do and that’s daddy kink books written by Colette Davison, this author just has a way of writing daddy kink books that is perfect to me. They just always have the cutest relationships with really good and well fleshed out dynamics that really work for me. I love how she uses daddy kink to show the dynamics between the characters and how it’s always flawlessly integrated as part of the character’s lives and their persona. And this one was just a wonderful daddy kink book. I really loved the dynamic between Magnus and Barney. I loved how their daddy kink dynamic was just for them and how it was something that they were both so into and just wanted, that really worked for me.

Magnus has a parrot named Bones and he kept saying strange stuff and I absolutely adored him. He put such a fun vibe to so many scenes in the book due to all the stuff he kept saying. I thought that Barney was just such a fun addition to the book and his actions just made me laugh out loud so many times.

I really liked the meet cute in this one. I thought that it was super adorable. They meet when Barney is dressed as an elf and Magnus is dressed as Santa Claus and their interaction is just so electric and full of chemistry, I thought that it just really set the vibe for the book and what was to come.

“I think you’re probably on Santa’s naughty list.”
“Abso-fucking-lutely.” He raked his teeth over his lip and fluttered his lashes.
“I’ve been very naughty this year, Santa. I might need to be spanked.”

I really loved Magnus and Barney as characters. Magnus was the solid older man who is always there and always so reliable and Barney was the more chaotic younger one, who just needs someone who will love him and stay with him. I thought that they were pretty much a perfect fit and they just fit so well as a couple. But they always just were two fun characters that I really enjoyed reading about.

I just adored the romance in this one. As I mentioned earlier, I just loved the chemistry between Barney and Magnus. You could see how perfect they were for each other through their every action, and I just adored reading all about it. They were just so well suited for each other, and the book really highlighted this. I loved how they both just wanted to spend time together and how they just really enjoyed being together. I love the books where the characters are falling for each other, but they try to stop it due to previous trauma, but they are hopeless and cannot do anything about it because the other person is perfect for them, and they cannot help but fall in love with them. It was the case in this book, and I just adored how it was done. I thought that this book had the perfect mix of sweet scenes of them falling in love and some self doubts. But I loved how they realized that they are much better together than separated and how they did everything that they could to be together. That was just so adorable, and it really worked for me.

Also, I really liked the relationship progression in this one. They both had hang-ups that made it a little harder for them to open their hearts and I thought that the progression was just perfect for their couple. I loved how they met and couldn’t stay away from each other and how they spent more and more time together because they just couldn’t stand not to. And I loved how they got closer to each other through every scenes in the book, it was a slow process for them to fall in love but you got to see them fall in love slowly through every scenes in the book and I just adored that so much. The relationship development in this book was just perfect to me and I adored it very much.

Also, Magnus has an ex husband who died and it isn’t a trope that I always prefer, but I loved how it was done in this book because it never seemed to overshadow his romance for Barney or his love for Barney and his want to try to be with him and I just loved that so much.

I think we need to talk about the kissing scenes in this one because they were just so good. This author has a way of describing kissing scenes that is just so lovely and so descriptive and I absolutely adored these scenes so much. And this leads me to talk about the sex scenes in this book because they were just everything I could have ever asked for. I thought that the kinky elements of this one was super fun and they just made the sex scenes such a pleasure to read for me. I loved how you could clearly see Magnus and Barney’s chemistry through every sex scene in this book. This book had just some of the hottest and sizzling sex scenes and I adored each one of them. Also, this book had some wonderful aftercare and I just adored that too. They also really showed how well Magnus and Barney fit together and I loved that too.

Also, this book had a lot of Star Trek references and those are always lovely in my book.

Overall, this was just one of the best reading experiences I’ve had in a while. I just adored reading this book so much. I thought that it was so adorable and swoony. This book just put the biggest smile on my face while I was reading it and that’s always a welcome feeling.

I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest opinion.

I have read all three seasons of this series and have always enjoyed them by these various M/M Romance authors. They all have about the same themes..."Daddy's" or "Boys" summiting letters on the Cuffd Club site hoping to meet their forever Daddy or Boy over the Christmas season. The club calls it "Kinkmas". Barney had used this site in the past but even though he has met and enjoyed time with some really great "Daddy's", he never found one that he wanted to stay with. He makes a trip to Manchester to visit his best friend and his friend's husband when he discovered there was going to be a "Kinky Christmas" event at the club, and he decided it would be fun to attend. There he met "Santa", better known as Magnus, the owner of the club and diffidently a "Daddy" and a "silver fox". Barney was hooked and agreed to spend the week seeing and playing with this silver dream on two legs. Neither of these men expected to so quickly fall in love. There were a couple of things that frustrated me and even though from previous experience with genera, I knew it would eventually work out...but there was over 300 pages to wait for it to happen. One of the biggest frustrations was Barney's unfunded belief that he would have as toxic a relationship with anyone as his parents have. The second thing had nothing to do with the relationship but with Magnus' pet African Grey parrot's portrayal. I spent 28 years of my life in Conservation Education trying to convince people that wild animals were not intended to be or do they overall, make good pets. They are NOT domesticated. Domestication takes hundreds and sometimes thousands of years. Even dogs and cats sometimes turn back to their wild origins and injure and even kill their owners. The parrot was cute and funny, and they are one of best "talkers" in the parrot family...but they don't learn that quickly...or say phrases in just the right places like this one did. Somewhere in the end of the story, it would have been nice if there had been a disclaimer that the behavior and the abilities that this parrot displayed throughout the story was unrealistic, and some were impossible. I wondered how many people read this and went out and tried to purchase an African Grey parrot thinking it was going to behave like the one in the story and then being disappointed with the poor bird. Actually, this alone really bothered me more than Barney's insecurity. Otherwise, it was a sweet story with a happy ending for two guys that deserved it.

After meeting Barney in Colette’s last Cuff’d book, I was excited to read his story. He’s so carefree and uncommitted, I was looking forward to the man that would tie him down. And Magnus was perfect! This was kinky and fun and sweet, and it was a relief when Barney finally allowed himself to be vulnerable. And he was a stubborn boy about it to the very end. But the HEA was well worth it!

A Silver Fox for Kinkmas by Colette Davison is part of the Naughty or Nice series season 3. This book is about Barney and Magnus. Barney wants a Silver Fox Daddy for Christmas, but just for a hookup. Magnus is looking for a boy to spend Christmas with.

I loved their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written.

Barney is a brat, looking for a Silver fix Daddy, only for one night, because strings… ugh, not for him.
He will stay with his best friend Kasper (yes Kasper and Jade from Crazy Little Thing Cold Love) in Manchester.
Meeting Santa Daddy at Razzle Dazzle club was everything he could wish for, super hot sex, a nice red butt, and sweet aftercare. No, he didn’t give his number, he’s clear, he doesn’t do repeats.

“Was being hopelessly in lust a bad thing?”

Magnus meets a beautiful, sweet horny boy at the bar, he’s good for his ego because the boy loves everything about him.
He’s certainly into this Silver Fox Daddy. They have the most amazing night. Such a pity the boy doesn’t want to give him his number.

Barney’s mind works one way, and that’s sex, meeting Santa Daddy again at Cuffd Christmas events makes him break his own rule. He’ll have another unforgettable night with Daddy.
Magnus has a proposition, Barney could stay for Christmas with him.

Watching them was everything, beside the amazing sex and scenes they have, there are so many pure emotions. The dialogues are fantastic, feisty, honest, and emotional. Magnus is an open book, freely expressing his emotions and tears, it took Barney more time, he was so afraid to give in. His parents were a bad couple example.
When he finally gave in, ahh that was so endearing.
It’s obvious, I love this author’s work, every story is absolutely wonderful, with lovely characters, nicely balanced, entertaining, and always a joy to read!

I knew I was going to be in for a wild ride with Barney's story and boy was it ever! Magnus, a wealthy Daddy, widowed, still mourning his late husband. Barney, the sassy, sexy, brat who only does one night stands for reasons...until Magus. They meet, have an undeniable chemistry and things progress from there, although they have their struggles. I thoroughly enjoyed these two finding their HEA. It was the perfect mix of high steam, kink, emotion and sweetness. Let's not forget hilarious! It was also fun catching up with Kasper and Jude. This book has everything you want and more, fantastic holiday read, definitely recommend!

OMG YES! I am obsessed. This story was amazing. Super sexy with lots of steam but also sweet with bittersweet moments. I just can’t get Magnus and Barney out of my head. I could not put this down.. I read it in one sitting. It is a great Christmas read. Barney is super relatable to those of us who have mental blocks with relationships and commitment fears and Magnus is just soooooooo Swoony! Some parts made me want to cry because Magnus’s grief is just so real and his monitors are bittersweet. Not to mention…. Bones is literally the best. Love the nerdy references! Everyone who like mm and kink (this is relatively light on kink) should read this now!

If you’ve loved the Naughty or Nice series the past couple years, A Silver Fox for Kinkmas in season 3 will not disappoint. And if you haven’t read any of the naughty or nice series current or previous, A Silver Fox for Kinkmas WILL NOT DISAPPOINT! We FINALLY get to see Barney find his HEA and have a few cameos from Davison’s books in seasons one and two which is a delight. Sometimes if you haven’t read intertwining characters from previous books in a series you feel like you’re missing something but in this case the cameos serve to add some depth to the friendships without feeling like you’re missing something key. Magnus and Barney manage to be both sweet and smoking hot - we are not talking light on the fire here - with a dash of sassy parrot thrown in for good measure. As is the case for many of Davison’s books, the narration by Piers Ryman is on point. The characters are distinguishable which for me makes a huge difference in how I track an audio book (otherwise it’s really easy for me to get confused about who is doing what). All in all if you want a kinky Christmas story (Daddy, not a little) that’s a blend of story with a whole lot of spice sprinkled with a dash of chuckles, this will be your jam.

I wasn’t sure that I was going to like this book at first as I really didn’t connect with Barney. I don’t know why but it wasn’t working. This changed however as I got further into the story. It takes place in the week leading up to and including Christmas Day.
Barney – I really hate that name by the way – is in Manchester to visit his friend and to attend some events. It is at one of these events that he spies Santa. Barney likes one night stands; he does not like commitment. This is because his parents’ marriage is toxic. Magnus, also known as Santa, is a widower. What follows is a week of sex, fun, role play and Daddy/Boy kink. No littles are involved.
Besides the fun there are also some bitter/sweet moments as Magnus is still mourning his husband and Barney is working through memories and past times with his parents.
The story is told from alternative points of view and, once involved in the story, I really enjoyed it. It was fun and a very quick read.
There are other books in this series and I will be reading them. I will also continue reading books written by Colette Davison as I do like the way in which she writes.
I received an ARC in return for an honest review

Ignoring the fact that I absolutely love these Cuff’d multi-author releases and would read them regardless, there has definitely been a progression of quality in the books over the seasons – each series just gets better and better.

Colette really hit it out of the park with this one. The writing was superb, the story progression was well paced, the romance was believable, and the connection between these two MCs was powerful. Additionally, the MCs were well conceived and came to life on the page – not only do you get to enjoy the progression of the story, but you really get to know these characters, which just enhances the enjoyment of the entire experience. We also get a significant amount of appearances from one of the MCs from last season, giving us more insight into Barney as a person, and adding that little extra to his character and his challenges, that helps take this story from good to great.

Always a pleasure reading this author’s books, because of the extra effort given to stories like these.

Santa and his Naughty Elf

When Barney dressed as a Naughty Elf, he wanted a hot night with a Silver Fox. What he did not expect was for Santa to make his Christmas rock.

I love Barney. He's unsure about himself and his life choices, we get to meet his best friend Kasper and Jude again, but the best side character has to go to Bones. I love this bird, and I laughed so hard at his shenanigans.

This book is part of a multi-author series, and I can't wait to read the others.

Piers Ryman did a fantastic job narrating this book, and I was entranced throughout. Easy and clear narration. I did speed up to 1.15 on audible, which is my norm.

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.75 stars

A Silver Fox at Kinkmas is part of the third season of the multi-author Naughty or Nice collection of standalones. However, it more closely connects with Crazy Little Thing Cold Love, part of the Destination Daddies collection, which features Barney’s friend Kasper meeting his partner, Jude. Those men do appear here and Kasper plays a side role as Barney’s best friend, so fans of that book should enjoy seeing them. But I do think you can read this one alone, as long as you don’t mind a few references to things that happened in the other book.

This story is sweet and sexy and a nice light holiday read, with a dose of kink. The set up is pretty straightforward, with the men meeting, having what they assume is a hot one-off, then reconnecting later.

So Barney ….. I mean ahhh I just want to shower him in all the love. Ever since I met him in crazy Lille thing cold love, I have been a little bit in list with the cheeky horndog. Barney has really and truly won my heart. He really is the best boy (even if he’s a brat at times). After meeting santa (aka Magnus) at a cuffed event Barney slowly starts to fall for the sliver fox. Barney really shows his more understanding and caring side with Magnus and it’s lovely to see. Magnus is in my opinion is the best daddy for Barney. He is a widower looking for someone to care for he also has the best best housemate a guy could wish for. I loved bones and his cheekiness.
The chemistry is on fire with these two and I was so happy that Barney allowed himself to have his HEA. While there is kink in their story the love the two develop really shines through.

I found this to be a perfect kinky Christmas read and I can’t wait to see what Colette brings to the table in 2023

A Silver Fox for Kinkmas is part of the multi-author Naughty or Nice Season Three series. This is a wonderfully written sweet, steamy, Daddy/boy, story with all the feels where Bones steals the show and Barney gets his silver fox Daddy for Christmas. I was hoping Barney would get his own book. He's such a wonderful character. Taking part in a Cuff'd Christmas event Barney got to stay and catch up with Kasper and Jude. All Barney wanted was some fun but he got so much more than that. Magnus is a widower and business owner who happened to attend an event and met Barney. I enjoyed Barney and Magnus together. They were just who the other needed. It was great to see both characters grow and step outside of their comfort zones. I definitely recommend this book.

Another great Cuff'd story by Colette and as per usual I'm hooked from the start. I love how the stories always flow and this was no different. I loved reading this story. In this story we meet sassy Barney who is scared of commitment as he doesn't want to turn into his parents but this year he is looking for a daddy to have some fun with. At a Cuff'd Christmas event he meets the older widowed Magnes who is finally ready to meet someone again. They have a hot night together but that is all Barney wants, however when they meet at another event it's clear they have a special connection and they end up spending Christmas together. At the end Barney have to decide if he can get over his fears and choose love and Magnus. I loved the parrot Bones. He was so funny and fit in well in the story.

Oh yeah, baby! Another marvelous story!
Barney's brattiness is perfect to help Magnus opening up his heart after years of grieving.
It's a book full of kink, sweetness, over the top chemistry, hot moments, but also serious and intense ones.
Their story is also relatable. Barney's struggle to figure himself out is very common. Having your life together isn't always easy, and have a support system more times that not is what helps the most. Luckily Barney has Kas, the bestest of friends.
How could I not mention Bones? Omg this pet is super hilarious, now I want one.
Can't wait to read more of this season's Naughty or Nice series.

A bratty elf and a kinky Santa, one who doesn't do real relationships and one who is still grieving.
An explosion of chemistry ignites between them and their hookups quickly lead to something more.
As they learn to move forward together, they find in each other the partner they never expected.

Barney with his insecurities and Magnus with his grief are relatable to on many levels.
The author takes us on a kinky journey as well as an emotional one at times. Bones was a much needed humorous addition to the plot. I loved the appearance of the authors previous characters in this story as well.
An absolutely enjoyable read.

A Silver Fox for Kinkmas is part of a multi author world Naughty or Nice, Season Three. All Barney wants is a silver fox for Christmas. He has a commitment phobia and just goes for the hook ups. Magnus wants a boy for Christmas. He’s wealthy and has lost his partner/husband, still mourning them. They have fantastic chemistry! Perfect amount of swoon and steam. Their connection and relationship building were solid and well done. They both had things from their past they needed to work through but overall, this is a fantastic addition to the series. Well written with addicting pacing! I literally could not put it down!

Magnus and Barney

Magnus is an older man who owns several clubs. He lost his husband several years ago. He has had one night stands but is lonely. Barney is quite a few years younger. He ha never been in a relationship because he's afraid he would end up like his parents fighting and arguing and being miserable. Barney is visiting his best friend, who convinces him to go to a local kink club. There he meets Magnus. They have a couple "on night stands". They are both afraid of being hurt. They have to figure out their HEA. Loved this book., the sex, humor, and the parrot.

4.5 stars. It was great to see a more serious side to Barney. Magnus got under his skin and slipped passed his walls until Barney tore them down. Not only that, but things between them are very very steamy. We had lovely cameos from Casper and Jude. Barney and Casper’s friendship is so special, I love reading about them. But the real show stealer was the hilariously awesome parrot, Bones. I just loved the phrases he picked up. And his daddy, sexy silver fox Magnus was the perfect man for the one night stand loving, commitmentphobe, Barney. Their happy ending warmed my heart.

perfect blend of kink and sweetness that I want for a Christmas story! Barney decides to spend Christmas week at Kinkmas with a week of kinky times to find a different sexy silver fox for each night. Magnus owns one of the clubs running a Kinkmas event where he meets Barney a sexy elf and sparks fly. The two have the perfect sexy week together. Once feelings start these two need to decide is it worth being hurt if it doesn't work? Is it worth trying?

A heartfelt, steamy and kinky holiday novel from Colette Davison! A Silver Fox for Kinkmas features a bratty boy, a silver fox Daddy and a parrot without any filter.

The connection and chemistry between Barney and Magnus was through the roof! Barney was a total brat and he was a lot of fun to read about, while Magnus was calm and firm - exactly the right kind of Daddy for Barney. The way their relationship evolved from hookups to something more felt natural and almost inevitable considering their connection.

The characters both had heavy pasts that gave some depth to them and also added a more serious tone to the story. There were some great moments of hurt / comfort that showed that even the brattiest boy can be sweet when the situation calls for it. Magnus’ grief was intense in some scenes, and it was very well portrayed and felt realistic.

The kink was pretty light in my opinion, but it was very present throughout the story - and well written as usual! A lot of hot scenes and plenty of steam in this one, but it fit the narrative and never felt like too much or repetitive.

I totally loved Bones, the parrot was a great addition to the story and it was so sweet seeing him slowly bond with Barney. Bones’ lack of filter and hilarious banter offered a lot of laughs and giggles while reading!

A bratty elf and a very kinky Santa. I've been wondering if Barney would find his dream daddy ever since we saw him in his friend Kasper's book. I was so glad to see his name on this one. Barney and Magnus have sizzling chemistry right from the start that only gets hotter and hotter every time they hook up. They get up to some seriously sexy good times over the course of the Christmas holiday but they also begin to connect outside the bedroom. Watching these two discover if they could be more than a sexy fling was truly wonderful. I can't wait to see who gets their dream daddy next!

Wonderful book!

A bratty boy with relationship issues only does hook ups. A widower who still has issues 5 years later. Each encouraged by friends to try dating again. Can they each overcome their demons and find love and a relationship. Oh add that they live in two different cities and throw in a parrot that's very expressive. You have a wonderful must read!
