Tachibana is a top and loves cute and slender men. But, just when he thought he wanted to try something different, he meets Kuzumi. Tachibana believes him when he says he's a bottom, and they go to a hotel room together. When he finally realizes there's something strange going on, Kuzumi tells him with a devilish smile: "I like to turn guys like you into bitches on heat..." The merciless pleasure received from a suddenly changed man... it doesn't take long for Tachibana to let go of his reason. Top x top BL love story swaying between pride and desire!
This is not a romance. This is two men figuring out a sexual relationship in the messiest way. It's steamy and the men are gorgeous, but that's about it. At the end once they've decided on a dynamic that works for them, there's potential for feelings to develop, and I'd read a sequel that explores that, but you don't get much of that here.
Ooookay…confession time. I picked up this manga for the sex. *shrugs* What? It looked like fun smut. But to my surprise, my mushy heart “BADUMP”-ed into action and found something more than just fucking.
The Man Who Shattered My World is about two dominant men, Tachibana and Kuzumi, battling for control. Tachibana has rules and sex contracts to keep partners from getting too close. Kuzumi only does one-night stands. Sex is all fun and no feelings for these two. Plus, Tachibana is a top. Always a top. All of that is about to change though. Kuzumi shatters everything Tachibana thought he knew about himself and maybe what he wants.
“I won’t be so easily changed by you.”
Strong words like sadist and masochist were thrown around a couple of times with very little impact on the page, but that really didn’t bother me. I liked the dirty power struggle between these two men. Along with all the thrusting, twitching, and “splurting”, was huge insecurity and fear. Fear of rejection and vulnerability. These men pushed each other to take, trust, and risk it all. Will they fall for each other? What about the rules?
An oh-god, oh-god “the-prostate does feel great” kind of read that will either break hearts or all the rules.
This one’s pure smut with the loosest thread of plot just there to string the scenes together. It’s about Tachibana, a self-proclaimed top, who meets Kuzumi, a guy he thinks is a fellow bottom, only to later find out he’s been played, because surprise: Kuzumi’s actually a top too, and he loves nothing more than flipping so-called “sadists” into submissive messes. Classic switch dynamic chaos.
Honestly, Kuzumi is a manipulative little shit and fully knows it but it doesn’t feel like Tachibana minds. If anything, they’re both too busy trying to one-up each other in bed while pretending they’re not catching feelings. So it becomes this weird push-and-pull game of pride vs pleasure, with some “are we actually falling for each other?” tension that never fully gets explored.
The story is predictable and the emotional development is pretty much nonexistent. The relationship jump at the end came out of nowhere considering they barely talked about anything beyond who's topping who. If you’re hoping for actual plot or character growth, this is not that. But if you're just here for hot, uncensored art and a lot of sex…like, a lot…then it’ll probably scratch the itch!!
This was a surprising read. I’m still trying to figure out what I feel about this one because I liked it, but I also didn’t like it. It’s somewhere between yes, it was enjoyable and kept me engrossed but also no, those were some very red flag moments and I don’t think this relationship will last long, maybe.
The manga has a lot of sex scenes and the relationship between Kuzumi and Tachibana primarily evolves over their chemistry in bed. It’s not a bad thing but I would have loved to see some moments of them together outside of the bedroom. I also felt like it would have added more character depth if we knew their daily life outside of their personal endeavors to top someone.
Tachibana is the primary perspective in this manga and I liked how he was clear on his needs and wants. Tachibana knew exactly what he wanted without regret or remorse. He had an overall good growth trying to understand his desire to be topped and I liked how he ensured it was what he wanted before acting on his desires.
That said, Kuzumi is very cunning and manipulating. He was never going to bottom so the interaction starts with a lie as well as Kuzumi is able to sway Tachibana’s rationale a bit too easily. I didn’t like this for obvious reasons, but Kuzumi was also only doing this with Tachibana and no one else. His character is unknown outside of his in-bed relationship with Tachibana and most of the supporting cast mention snippets that do not help develop his character. As a result, I was conflicted on how I should feel because Kuzumi’s actions were absolutely wrong but then this was better than reading an overly used miscommunication or love triangle tropes. Not to say I don’t like those, but I guess I just needed something different?
The artwork is quite simple, nothing stands out. I liked how both Tachibana and Kazumi looked like actual male adults and were not feminized. Tachibana is an expressive character whereas Kasumi is mainly stoic with limited facial expressions. I liked this opposite personality representation, but also felt that it fell within the confines of typical top/bottom relationships depicted. There are limited scenic backgrounds throughout mainly because this story doesn’t take place in many locations. Also to reiterate, the main focus is the sexual chemistry between our two leads so the backgrounds are typically nonexistent.
Overall this was an okay read. It’s a different type of romance and chemistry; one that I’m not too familiar with. There isn’t a plot, it’s more a self discovery of a new side of oneself with a speck of romance. I definitely would have loved a more healthier relationship growth and interactions between the two leads, but nonetheless it was another book completed.
This manga is bad. It embraces the classic yaoi trope of "your words say no but your body says yes." The relationship is also just sex and nothing else. I don't think they have a single conversation that isn't related to sex in some way shape or form. I kept hoping that maybe there would be more to their relationship and we would learn that Kuzumi actually actually cared about Tachibana as a person. But alas.
The Kazumi guy or whatever the f his name is, pls I wanted to bury myself. He was such a dick.
If you love shit like this, then by all means read this manga. If you don’t, then do not read, you’ll wish you could go back in time and stop yourself from buying it…I wish I could 🥲 But when it was over, ohohoho it was over.
All I can say, is that there are better BLs out there
The art was pretty for the most part. I liked Tachibana's expressions a lot, but Kuzumi constantly had this empty look to his face and eyes that I couldn't place -- it was almost sad? Like I think it was supposed to be blank or indifferent, but it looked like something between sad and in love most of the time, which I would have liked if something came about from this, but alas, nothing ever did.
The story line is... almost nonexistent, to the point where I would really just call this porn without plot. A top gets tricked into sleeping with another top, who intends to break him into a perfect bottom -- and there's a fair amount of manipulation and dubcon that accompanies this plan. TBH, it was kind of dark... until chapter 4, when there was this kind of weird tonal shift that came out of nowhere. One moment Tachibana is a shattered mess of emotions and pride, and the next he is actively scheming and cocky again. It was an interesting (confusing) choice, but one that was necessary in order to have the story end 'happily,' as they had to both end up on equal footing.
But anyhoo, other than their sexual relationship, there is nothing else going on in this manga. We never get to see them develop or get closer outside of the bedroom, we never get to see anything about their personal or professional lives (aside from one scene with Tachibana), and we don't even really get to see them... like each other outside of being attracted to each other and being physically compatible. Which doesn't exactly seem like a great foundation for a relationship, but hey, I'm ace, what do I know? Maybe allosexuals are just like that.
It’s just smut… which isn’t a bad thing at all. If that’s what you’re looking for then this will be perfect. But like the main character kuzumi said he was a sadist so I was patiently waiting for the sex to get a bit more entertaining but it never did.
And I don’t think we ever learned the names of the random side characters I think there was 2 side characters.
I like that this book was uncensored. But it was the same sex scene over and over again until the last page. And then they are in a committed relationship by the end of the book?!? Which I didn’t buy at all because they don’t know anything about each other besides they both like sex.
The plot of this book is two tops and 1 forces the other to become a bottom and then they end up together. Like if you’re gonna make a whole book about smut then at least make the scenes different. And they said there was bondage scene? On the back but I don’t remember when that happened. Or the stalking?
Anyways that’s all.
1/3 ⭐️
I rate mangas different than novels. Novels is a 5/5 rating and mangas will be 3/3
Looking for a spicy pwp? Maybe this one about arrogant tops getting knocked down a peg or two will fit the bill!
This manga is a PWP and it does an excellent job at it. The story is structured into five chapters. It doesn’t overcomplicate itself and there’s no filler. It’s more or less their story going from encounter A to B, which works in its favor.
Premise-wise, you might find it a little clichéd. I’m certainly not complaining, it worked. Plus, the art was gorgeous. I also greatly enjoyed the banter between these two. Their dynamic kind of reminded me of Junjou in a good way.
Who is this manga for This oneshot is for fans who are looking for an easy to get through pwp about an arrogant top getting knocked down a peg or two. It has some clichés, but readers who won’t mind will likely enjoy this one.
And yet 3 ⭐️….honestly I debated if I would give it only 2 ⭐️ but the art really is gorgeous and so long as you pick this up MORE for the spice and art then you are good BUT while I said there’s consent it comes with a HUGE asterisk.
Setup is the two MLs are ‘Tops’ and when I say ‘Tops’ I mean the most heteronormative definition of tops. And while there are many stories where both MLs come to the relationship thinking their are exclusively tops and still manage to navigate the ups and downs of a relationship and find a mutually satisfying intimate relationship, this is not one of those in my opinion.
Primarily because I think the one ML (black haired Kuzumi) approaches the other ML (blonde haired Tachibana) in way to much of a coercive/manipulative manner that makes him a big red flag of disrespect. And really sets up for the relationship to be very heteronormative even though we’d say he’s equally toxic if he did this with a female partner too.
Tachibanna sees him self as a top and has a rule about entering into a contract with his partners before they get intimate as he claims he’s a bit of a sadist (side note the whole S&M identifications were pointless, being aggressive or domineering in bed does not make you a sadists😳). Kuzumi sees him at a bar and is interested and his friend tells him don’t bother he’s a top and K says “hold me beer” and takes that as a challenge.
Rather then writing the plot where it was a drunken one night stand and T inadvertently bottoms because he’s always been curious OR K coming at the relationship with a let’s get to know each other and see where it goes/ “hey I’ve bottomed before and it’s great so why don’t you try…if you don’t like it then I can”; Kuzumi tells Tachibanna that actually he is a bottom to get him to go back to his place, then tells him T should let him massage his prostrate while T fucks K…which K agrees to reluctantly and then when T says enough of the foreplay he wants to F him K says “oops I lied I’m a top and thus you have to be the bottom”
🙄 again Tachibanna consent to everything and enjoys himself but we get to this point in the most unnecessarily manipulative way possible. As a reader I was hoping that Kuzumi would at least have a huge grovel because he falls hard but instead after a few chapters of Tachibanna have internal struggles to accept it’s okay that he enjoys being the bottom we are told by Kuzumi that he always wanted to make Tachibanna “his” and not just a one night stand. 🙄
And the only way this can work for a plot where you can accept Kuzumi’s behaviour is if you believe queer relationships HAVE to operate like a stereotypical heterosexual relationship and that you can make a “woman” out of some men. 🤮 heaven forbid they both have their prostrates massaged once and a while, perhaps they determine they both have a preference in the end but freaking RESPECT each other (mainly Kuzumi should respect Tachibanna) enough to explore all the options and not resort to manipulation to “win/concur”.
This turned into way more of a rant then I expected as I’m the first to enjoy a toxic erotic story for the sake of escapism and in this case I really lived the art style BUT the plot and trope is why BLs get shit on by people. There are harmful stereotypes and it was COMPLETELY unnecessary. There are as multiple setups (I mentioned two above) that could have resulted in a similar relationship arc and all the same spice scenes but didn’t make Kuzumi a big douche canoe 🤦♀️
Absolute pure smut! ‘The Man Who Shattered My World’ centres around Tachibana—who claims he is a Top. When he meets kuzumi, he’s surprised to then find out that the man’s a bottom; only for Tachibana to discover later on that Kazumi is actually a Top who loves to turn “self proclaimed sadistic like you into my little bitch”.
Kazumi’s character comes across as manipulative but it doesn’t seem as if Tachibana minds this or is unaware of the games he is playing. In fact there’s more of a battle of wills going on between the two to see who can give into the pleasure; as they refuse to see they’re both slowly falling for each other.
The story is quite cliched and predictable but enjoyable nonetheless—if you’re just looking for a quick read to pass the time with a barely there plot. I do wish there was more of a plot rather than just sex as the ending where they jump into a relationship was quiet fast. They barely knew anything about one another other than sharing an attraction. Also, there was zero character development either. There’s definitely some content warnings to adhere to before reading.
I loved it this one! The Man Who Shattered My World is about Tachibana, a top who enjoys cute men. When he meets Kuzumi, he is surprised to find out he's a bottom. BUT when they get to the hotel room, Tachibana notices something seems off. That's when Kuzumi admits that he's actually a top himself who "turns men like you into a sloppy begging mess." And so begins a battle of wills and pleasure between two men who don't want to admit that they are falling for each other. It's so hot! *TW for dubcon*
Pure smut of the mildly toxic but acceptable variety. The back of the book tells you what you're getting into, so nobody should be surprised by the contents. Kuzumi is very manipulative, but it doesn't feel like Tachibana is bothered by it/unaware of the game he's playing. They're in the mess together.
There's a vague plot, but it's very predictable and cliched, mostly just there to support the smut. The art was reasonable, although Kuzumi's neck was distractingly disproportionate.
Overall, not a masterpiece, but does what it says on the tin.
Tachibana is a top that likes slender cute young guys but he meets Kuzumi who says he is a bottom until they go to a hotel together than he announces that he is really a top who likes to turn the tables on a nice hot top looking man and turning him into a bottom with his experience. They keep seeing each other, and grow more or less addicted to each other.
Over time they both realize that they match really well and have just about the next sex either has ever had. This was not one of my favorite mangas but if the discription interests you, recommend you give it a read.
Tachibana and Kuzumi are both playboys with some rather twisted rules in their chosen form of play. Tachibana sets up contracts to avoid attachment, while Kuzumi leaves a string of one night stands behind him. Both consider themselves tops, except it seems Kuzumi has a thing for proving tops may truly like to bottom for him instead. There are a lot of reasons this pair should not work out, yet they continue to be drawn together in a very twisted and unusual relationship, making others on their playground rather jealous of their new contract.

if you’re looking for plot or a well written romance, this manga is not for you. there is a bit of romance in the story but it’s not extremely focused on and is mentioned towards the end of the story. this is a manga that instead focuses on characters with sex contracts.
both main characters are tops, but one of them becomes a bottom. at first, he thinks that he will always be a top, but eventually realized that he enjoys being a bottom.
I actually read what this book was about before reading it so I was expecting erotica with some plot and that is what I got. It is uncensored and beautifully drawn. The guys are both hot and I liked it cause it was an exploration of sex and what kind of sex they both like. I would read the triggers if you aren’t into them don’t read this.
I really liked this story. Very entertaining and well written. The graphics really brought out the story as well. A steamy page turner from start to finish.
