So Ryo is now traveling with a B rank adventurer to a city called Lune from his isolated forest. Abel who is Ryo's companion goes through common sense stuff about the world and sees how powerful Roy is along the way. They make it to the city where Ryo registers as an adventurer. The pacing is still on the slow side but since there are now people interacting with the main character there is just a bit more action. Not a strong plot yet as there is pretty much no difficulties. It still seems like book 2 is like the first chapter of a long book with a super long introduction and very slow character building.
One of the fateful encounters from the last chapter of Volume 1 was Abel, who convinces Ryo to accompany him back to civilization. At this point of the story, it would do the story good to move another location and this came at the perfect time.
In Lune, Ryo becomes an adventurer and expands his social network from Abel to his new roommates in guild-provided housing. Straight up, Abel has become Ryo's most dependable friend, protecting him from the political machinations of the country by hiding his identity, perhaps, having a very powerful water mage at his disposal.
I wish the journey from the Rondo Forest to this part of the continent was longer, because it would have been a great opportunity for some world building and introducing new monsters in this isekai.
