I don’t usually read books without HEA however a friend recommended this book and I can honestly say I wasn’t disappointed at all. I was crushed, yes… my heart torn out, ummm yeah! But I don’t regret it for a moment.
HL Packer took a story without a HEA and turned it in to a beautiful love story that will shatter your heart but make you fall in love with the story as well!
I cannot believe I’m saying this but even without the HEA you won’t want to miss this beautifully written love story!

This no HEA that needed to be told, we all had so many questions over Bria…
I loved the connection between Bria and Tino x coming from different backgrounds (Mafia and wealthy family) it was beautiful love story and glad they had that.

This started as a 3 star read for me, maybe even 2 because there was no world building and I had no clue who the extra characters were or had any connections to them. I went in blind as I don’t like to accidentally read spoilers and it put me a serious disadvantage.
The story was tragic, I feel so bad for Bria and being alone like that in a life if privilege, it hurt my heart! I havnt read a no HEA book before And I was not dissatisfied. The writing was good, I havnt read a “so this is where we are at” in italics in a long time, it was helpful to explain the time skips.
After finishing the book I thought woah could have been such a great story if I just knew what was going on and reading reviews I find out it’s part of a much bigger story and the characters are not new. So knowing this I’m giving it a 4 stars because my only issue was the lack of world knowledge and that can be fixed with a quick note at the start of the book and wouldn’t be an issue at all if you read the other titles first :)
The spice was written in the male POV and was quick minimal. The story might be triggering for some, I can’t list it without a spoiler but if your sensitive to some triggers consider asking someone more about it.

I am completely blown away by this one. Normally I don’t read books without a HEA and as H.L. Packer stated this one does not end with a HEA. After finishing it I’m one hundred percent blown away with how much I loved it even without a HEA.
She took a story that she knew wasn’t going to end the way most readers want and she made it into this beautiful love story if only for a little bit. I was entirely surprised with how much I fell in love with this story.
The ending! I was heartbroken but that’s the point right? It definitely ends with a whole mess of tears but I wouldn’t change one thing about this story.
H.L. She had me come out of my comfort zone and take a chance on a book I wasn’t sure about at first. She changed my mind and now I’m a firm believer that even if the story doesn’t end how you want it to…. It doesn’t mean it’s any less beautiful.
So take a chance….you won’t be disappointed!

If you’ve read the other books in this series, you already know, or at least have an idea, how Tino and Bria’s story ends. I did and it didn’t matter. I wasn’t prepared. HL Packer managed to have me crying…no, sobbing…at the end of this book anyway. It is a testament to her writing, that her readers can be affected the way we were, even though we already knew the ending.
I love Tino & Bria and I’m grateful for the short time we had with them. Like I said, you know somewhat of what happens from previous books and I’m so glad we got to see how they met, how they fell in love. Tino absolutely worshipped the ground Bria walked on and would have done anything for her and she loved him just the same.

I haven't read the La Famiglia book, so I didn't know anything of Bria or Tino. That being said, I definitely recommend reading the previous book to get their backstory.
Fair warning, and the author has plainly stated up front, this book does NOT have a happy ending. The ending is devastating. It shredded me and I wasn't previously invested in these characters!
The story, however, is jam packed with emotion, action, and suspense. For a novella, the author sure knows how to weave a tale into a short number of words!

OH MY GOD! THIS BOOK BROKE ME COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY!!
This is my first read by H L Packer and it definitely won’t be my last.
Tino and Brea are from two totally different backgrounds. Tino is from the La Famiglia. Brea is from a wealthy background. Their love was pure and beautiful I loved their connection. It was soul deep.
“Shattered and torn” does NOT have an HEA. IT’s devastating, crippling and painful! But it’s also beautiful in every way. H L Packer has done an outstanding job with this story and has blown me away. I would recommend you start this series with book one so not to avoid any confusion.
Whatever your doing on release day make sure you one click this phenomenal story.

I have been waiting to find out what happened to Bria since The La Famiglia book. I wanted, no NEEDED answers and my heart broke for Tino when I got them. Bria was such a breath of fresh air and kept Tino on his toes. They were so good together. I was rooting for them back in an earlier book. Even though this wasn't a HEA book it was the perfect end, for me, to the series as I had my answers. It also explained some things from Tino's duet for me as well. No matter how short, I'm just glad that Bria felt a love like Tino ❤️

This story had me crying buckets of tears. The author has made it clear that there is no HEA with this story and she wasn’t kidding. But oh, the emotions this brought forth from me. Even though this story doesn’t end the way most people would want it to, it was still a beautiful story. Packer did an outstanding job with telling it. Sometimes life is hard and things don’t go the way we want. But it doesn’t mean there isn’t something to learn from these devastating journeys we find ourselves on. It may be heartbreaking, but this story is beautiful as well.

I was asked to review this book and knowing going into it, that it wasn’t an HEA (Happy Ever After) ending. This was a short read but packed such a punch! H.L. Packer wrote a beautiful love story that will break your heart but make you fall in love with the characters and the story. This is a book from the Fated series but can be read as a standalone. I didn’t feel like I didn’t know what was going on and it made me so interested in the other character and plan on reading the rest of the series!

This is a shorter book that is part of a larger series. I was a little confused at first since I haven't read anything else in the series, but I can see why this story needed to be told. It really made me want to pick up another one and dive in to find answers.
This does not have an HEA which made me nervous to read it. But I also knew it didn't have one going into the story. This story is heartbreaking and even without the HEA it leaves you with the feeling that the story needed to be told.

Bria & Tino’s story will pull so hard at your heartstrings, it will actually break ….. I cried , my god did I cry .
The storyline draws you in from the very first page .
Bria brings a light into Tino’s life , & life he was born into , a life he loves , La Famiglia.
This book is not an HEA read , but each work will most certainly grip your heart & your soul .

Tino and Brea are from completely diverse backgrounds, as he is from La Famiglia, and she is from a wealthy family. There is no HEA for this couple, but they love each other like no other. This is a well written quick read story, which is an emotional roller coaster, with angst, heartbreak, suspense, intrigue, action, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining and heartwrenching page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I can't express how much I loved this book. It was a story that just needed to be told. It left me heartbroken.
Bria and Tino have a solid connection. The character development of them as a couple was brilliant considering this is a novella.

I have to be honest, it took me a minute to get into this book but once I did, it was worth it. There aren't many books that surprise me while also draining my emotions.. in a good way, The kind that you feel in your stomach and you're scared to go on because you know it will destroy you. Well, it destroyed me and brought me back. I would certainly recommend this author and book! Brianna and Tino won't let you down. I look forward to more!

Even though you go into this book knowing there’s no HEA , you still root for the couple… it seriously can’t be helped.
I love all the angst, always have done …I’ve been a sucker for a total gutrenching read, and Stattered & Torn didn’t disappoint,

After devouring the Fated Series in all its glory last month i really needed to find out just what happened with Tino & Bria... i really enjoyed their story, even though its definitely not a HEA of any kind.
I wanted to hug these guys so much.. i felt so bad for them both near the end.
Hl Packer put lots of research and love into writing this story!

it's a freaking fantastic 5 stars read. This short story tore my heart into tiny pieces and it left me crying so many tears. I wanted to jump into the story and hurt one of the characters so so bad. I loved Tino and Bria's story.

This is a beautiful young love. Two very different back grounds. I am blown away with the ending... keep thinking theres got to be another book... one where things are ok. Im not convinced her mom didnt have something to do with it... any way great read until the dramatic end...

Not every story has a happy ending and that's ok.
This story was full of emotion, suspense, and devastation. I was here for ALL of it! I love a good o'l emotional read and boy oh boy this was one!

Oh be still my broken heart😭. This story is about Brianna and Tino and the wonderful love they had before tragedy struck and the final book in the Fated Series. I'm not giving any spoilers away other than have tissues close by. This series has been one wild rollercoaster ride full of twists and turns, lies, secrets, heartbreak, revenge and finding love and for those who deserve getting a second chance at love again. This was a new arthur for me when I first started the series and she's had me hooked ever since. I'd definitely recommend this series.
