**Please read the trigger warnings located at the front of the book before reading! ***This book was previously published in three Captured, Chained, and Freed. They have since been combined into one book.
T.O. Smith believes in one thing - a happily ever after.
Her books are fast-paced and dive straight into the romance and the action. She doesn't do extensively drawn out plots. Normally, within the first chapter, she's got you - hook, line, and sinker.

Chained has a pretty intense storyline and intense characters that make for a very compelling and realistic story. The book is broken into three parts, beginning with Chained and ending with Freed. There is a trigger warning in the beginning that sensitive readers should heed. This story has a lot of violence, including murder, rape, and kidnapping. The book also paints a realistic picture of how law enforcement works with criminal elements to stop horrific crimes. Chained has realistic features without becoming too gritty.
Initially, Hayley got on my nerves. She was too innocent to have grown up as she did. Her life has been challenging, but as you find out in the book, she is a survivor. Lacie was her best and closest friend until a certain bad boy came into Hayley's life. However, Lacie has secrets that come back to bite Hayley and lead to some rough times.
As horrible as the book tried to paint him, I liked Damien. He was unapologetically a criminal. As hardcore as Damien was, he seemed right for Hayley, just as she was for him. They loved each other hard. Miles was the good, bad boy, as was Quinn. Their characters did the right thing, some really good things to help others, but just did it outside the law. I could not help but like these characters and was a bit envious of Hayley. These men became Hayley's family and her most staunch protectors.
Because the storyline has so many twists, betrayals, suspense, destructive secrets, a few surprises, lots of grieving, steamy romance, intense criminal action, and realism, Chained is a page-turner. I read it in a day, and you will not want to put this book down.

I made it to 6% before I hated myself for wasting that much time. In that 6% was the most annoying h, I have ever seen. There was nothing nice about her as a person. Her whole personality is coffee. Someone bumped into her on the street while she was looking at her phone (so it was kinda her fault) and she unloads on them with approximately 20 F bombs. Now I personally think the F word should be liberally sprinkled into conversations, however I would not scream at a complete stranger who accidentally bumped into me spilling my precious coffee. The stranger even apologized.
Here is one of the more ridiculous lines in the first 6% percent. "Why would I buy things that weren't comfortable, much less own them?" Typically when you buy something, ownership is part of the transaction. I think the author meant wear them. We get it "she isn't like all the other girls" Our H goes from being a sweet gentleman (he is taking her out for coffee and replacing her phone even though she takes absolutely no ownership in the mishap) to criticizing her nutritional standards and telling her he owns her body. I am all for instant lust, but we haven't even seen them introduce themselves to each other. We literally know more about her coffee addiction and his spicy scent than the characters.
I have read great novellas that give us an instant picture of someone with very few words. This was not one.
This review is tough for me. I never give away spoilers, so it is difficult to explain what i didn't like about it. I can simply say that no matter how smoothly it is described, i hate it when there is more than one love interest for the characters. I understand that this was actually composed of 3 books but after the first half of the second one the story lost me. I liked the writing style, so i will check one more book from the author. There is action, suspense, steam, abuse, death and crime. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a very dark romance. Hayley is drawn to Damien when she first meets him,and him to her. She can feel that he is a bad boy but can’t stay away. When she is drawn into his life, things change in that so many things are so much more dangerous, though his team including Miles and Quinn also vow to protect her. This book had so many twists that I didn’t expect, and kept me flipping the pages to find out what happens next. I found this story to be very emotional to read.

This book is full of twists and turns. Hailey falls for the bad boy Damien on campus and things go well for awhile until they don’t. Life throws some curve balls and they go their separate ways until they are forced back together. Will things work out this time or not. Or will life throw even more curves at them then they know what to do.

If you like different, the kind of storyline, one that's not entirely of this everyday world- meaning they are a little taboo; then you have come to the right place with this boxset! The twists and turns will keep you on your toes from the very first page in the first book, to the last page of the very last book.
This is a dark, raw, gritty, and intense story, with intrigue, twists, violence, betrayal, suspense, challenges, revelations, love, grief, surprises, and healing, which leads to a steamy page turner. Be aware of the trigger warnings due to the sensitive content! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was only 250 pages but it had 20+ different ridiculous plots. Any and everything that you could think of was written in this book from bully, sex slavery, gang violence, drug overdose, surprise pregnancy undercover fbi agent.. i could go on but i've wasted enough time on this mess of a book. sorry but i would not recommend nor will i read anything else by this author.
I gave it 4 stars only for the fact I think it could’ve been a bit longer. I think some of the big events were kind of skipped over really quickly. But all in all a really good book. Quick read but loved it!

Overall the story wasn't bad. But the writing was what got me. The book felt choppy and either rushed or under developed. There was so much room to fill in info and it just didn't. Was a quick read though.
