Vivian Lewis loves the exciting music and energetic dancing she finds at jazz clubs when she sneaks out at night, and she can hardly wait for the sun to go down each day. She doesn't realize, however, how her actions are impacting her father, his company, and her whole future. After coming face-to-face with reality, she must find a way to regain her father's trust, and applying for a job away from home for an extended period of time seems like a good start.
Lane Sears takes his duties seriously, traveling by steamer several times a year to oversee the shipment and delivery of goods to his boss's warehouse. When he's asked to keep an eye on one special delivery, he takes that assignment seriously as well, knowing it will definitely be the most challenging job he's had yet.
Can a carefree flapper and a career-oriented businessman find common ground somewhere in between all the things that keep them apart?
Amelia C. Adams is a wife, a mother, and a novelist. She spends her days dreaming up stories and her nights writing them down. Her biggest hero is her husband, and you might just see bits and pieces of him as you read her novels.
She loves all things historical and enjoys learning about days gone by, but she's glad she was born more recently (she won't say how recently or not recently) because the Internet is awesome, and she's glad she doesn't have to wash her clothes by hand in a galvanized tub. She has hit Amazon bestseller status twice, once for A Clean Slate and once for A Clear Hope.
Vivian finds herself in a time of great changes and fantastic new opportunities...but not all are good changes or opportunities. We see her undertake a journey of great distance and deep self discovery to try and better herself, can she avoid the distractions and make better decisions in this small but growing town that is so different from San Francisco. I look forward to more of Vivian and Lane as the series progresses and we meet more of the sisterhood. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
Vivian has a lot of growing up to do in the coming year. This looks to be a fun series. I can't wait to meet the other young ladies and see what adventures await them in Alaska.
This was a sweet introduction to t Switchboard Sisterhood AND to Vivian and Lane's romance, it seems. I enjoyed the characters, and I am curious to see if Vivian fulfills her commitment to her father. A good read.
Vivian just wanted to have fun with her friends until her father had a serious talk with her. Vivian had to make some tough decisions about her future and she was very scared. I loved reading this story it brought back a memory of my cousin who was working a switchboard.
I loved the interaction between Vivian and Lane! I didn’t want it end so quickly. I hope there will be concerning them in the next book. Always love an instant romance 💘
A great beginning of this series. It draws you in and wraps the storyline around your mind. So many adventures and characters must be coming in the next books.
