A standalone story in the Wall Street Journal bestselling Shadow Beast Shifters world. Best read after Compelled for storyline continuity.
Samantha, of the Clarity shifters, has a secret. And it’s going to cost her everything.
To save the most important person in her life, Samantha promises to form a mate bond with her pack’s future leader. If she can produce one heir, she’ll finally have her freedom.
During the ceremony, the leader invokes the Shadow Beast’s name, calling the powerful and scary god right into their midst. A god with an even scarier mate. Mera, a shifter Samantha once counted as friend, never lets anything rest. She demands her secrets be revealed, and in doing so, uncovers a way to save them all from this fate.
And it turns out that the Clarity pack leader isn’t Samantha’s greatest challenge.
It’s one of Shadow's brothers: Len, prince of the Silver Lands. The fae with the knowledge to save the one she cherishes above all others, and now she must tie herself to him and Faerie.
A world that she’s long feared. A world that could steal her heart.
And her soul.
If the prince doesn’t take them first.
* This is a standalone in the Shadow Beast world and does NOT end on a cliffhanger. It is full length at 110k words, and it is advised to read the first five in the Shadow Beast world first (Rejected, Reclaimed, Reborn, Deserted, Compelled) to get the most enjoyment from the story. Not required though. This is a forgotten-love story, with action, snark, anti-heroes, and steam. It is recommended for 18+ due to storyline and situations.

I am actually so sad because I gave every other book in this series 5 stars…This was just quite underwhelming and we don’t really get to see the start or middle of their relationship, it kind of jumps to the end straight away (because of the plot point). We never got to see any flashbacks etc which would have given us more angst I feel. Because of the plot point it’s pretty insta-love which I’m not really a big fan of. As a conclusion, it wasn’t bad in the sense that we got to see the gang get together again (although it kind of felt like a novella) which was quite nice. The characters were good I just felt like it was missing a huge part of the story.
WinterStorm was a hit for me.....you'll get the reference when you read the book.
Let us cover the 4 star rating. My reason is simply this, Sam's backstory has holes in it. There is so many unanswered questions. This needed to be a bit longer and the gaps filled in. Smidge of a rush to her backstory.
Positives..... every thing else was a smash! Tabitha, the pack, the reconnection.... sigh. Just a great series! If you have not started this, WHY??
The gang is back for one last adventure and oh my goodness did it pull at my heartstrings! I'd like to start by saying that Len has been one of my favorite side characters in the series since we met him in the first book so it feels like I have been waiting forever for him to finally get his own HEA! I could not wait to watch this calm, cool, and collected fae go absolutely feral for his woman and he did not disappoint! Can I just say his entrance to the library? I could not stop squealing I was so excited! He was just as possessive as I thought he would be and oh man I want a Len of my own please!
I loved the twist we got right in the beginning and I think it really helped to make this story feel different from the others since it completely changed how everything needed to be addressed and approached! I think it also really helped to highlight how far this group has come over the course of the series! Seeing the band of misfits we were introduced to in the main trilogy grow together and became a bigger and bigger family with each book has been so heart warming! I also loved how the whole gang went on this mission together so we got to see all of the family banter throughout the book as opposed to having Len and Sam face everything on their own and getting occasional cameos from everyone else like we saw in Compelled! I will admit that there were some things I've come to realize are part of Jaymin's writing style that I didn't vibe with sometimes but my love for all of these characters and their inner circle more than made up for it!
I know that this is the end for now but I know I'm not the only to say that I hope Jaymin decides to return to this world one day! She made sure to leave a few loose ends open just in case and I would love to see some of those potential stories come to fruition! Personally, I'd be most excited about the possibility of a story around Aurora and Damon! I just feel like their potential together is too great to ignore! But side stories aside, this book was a great stopping point for this pack for now and the vibes couldn't have been better! Until next time!
The main couple has zero chemistry. Their nicknames for one another is cheesy and their couple name… talk about original 🙄. It’s a boring book. It wasn’t funny at all. And the whole “we are a pack and family and our children are awesome” is tedious.
I need Galleli's book. 🥹
📖 “You have given me the greatest gift a fae or male could ask for...” _ “There’s no true English word, but in Faerie we say that you’re the all. The sum of all that makes us whole. All who complete us. My love.”
I’ve struggled writing this review for a few days, how do I review and put into words how much this book and this series has meant to me without crying the whole time? I honestly don’t think I can even find the right words but I will try my best..please note this will be the one and only long review I will ever do, because this story and series deserve all the good words that I can come up with. I still can’t even believe that I won an early copy of this..I’m kind of a sap but I will treasure this ecopy always and can’t wait to get the hardback added to my collection 😭🥰💙
Glamoured itself was the perfect “ending” to the Shadow Beast World. Len and Samantha are perfection! My heart went out to Sam so many times during her journey, I was super connected to her. This was a forgotten love story, with all the action, snark, and steam that I’ve come to love throughout this whole series. Andddd my favorite part..all the crossovers..I LOVE getting to see my favorite characters and couples from the other books, bringing their sass to more pages..especially Mera. And O.M.F.G. Wait until you guys read the new couple name!!! I’ve loved all the characters and couples and storylines, but if anyone can come super close to topping Shadow and Mera as my favs..it’s Len and Sam. This story sucked me in, I can’t go into details of my favorite things because I don’t want to spoil the journey for you, just know that if you are already a fan of this world, you are going to love this book. If you haven’t read the rest of the series yet, I highly suggest starting at book 1..it’s not required because this is a standalone, but you miss out on so much of the action and fun and seeing how the friendships and couples grow over time.
This next part is more or less for Jaymin if she reads these reviews, but I just want to tell you how much the Shadowbeast series means to me. I honestly don’t think there are words to describe how thankful I am that you wrote this series. But thank you from the bottom of my heart. Ive been in some dark spots over the last few years and I ended up discovering Rejected back in Jan 2021 and literally devoured it, at that time I wasn’t a reader at all but I kept seeing adds pop up on my fb and took the plunge. I immediately dove right into book 2. I found myself so obsessed with this new world and was reading every second I could, even on my lunch breaks. I even had the newer girl at work eying me from across the table and found out she was a reader too so I recommend ShadowBeast to her..she became hooked and we bonded over our love for ShadowShine (She’s now my bestie forever). We then began the count down for book 3 together and have been anxious for every release since. This series changed my life, it gave me an escape when I needed it and I found a love for reading(I proceeded to read your whole back list and have now worked my way to many other authors as well). I fell in love with Shadow and Mera and have not let go of them since. They are now my “comfort read” and I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do without more. I love how the series ending is kind of open in case some day you do decide to go back..and if you do decide you have another book or two..or even a little novella In you, I will be first in line to read it and buy it for my shelf.
Thank you Jaymin for these amazing couples, this amazing world, and the journey you took us on. ❤️#shadowshineforever
I honestly can't believe I'm giving any book written by Jaymin Eve a rating this low. I normally love almost everything she writes, in part because they flow so well, the rhythm and pace of the books are really good, and the characters are compelling. This one, though, left me very underwhelmed and if it wasn't a book by this specific author I probably would have stopped reading it. Well other books in this series do have the involvement of pregnancy or children, they aren't the central focus of the book, the relationship, and completely overwhelming every other facet of the book. I felt like so much time was spent on being so excited about this miracle baby and how it was the perfect thing and blah blah blah, meanwhile there was an initial plot mention of a leadership trial. That trial never happened because the main character group went to the origin, but even that could have been an incredible portion of the story. They got there and had to overcome multiple obstacles, but instead of spending time to really delve into those things the author kept bringing up that the group was stronger together to the point that it seems like a shortcut to just not have to write interesting obstacles and solutions. Then, suddenly, the obstacles were all overcome and that entire portion of the book, and what would have otherwise been the most interesting portion to me, felt like an afterthought. Overall, I was just disappointed, bored, and kept rolling my eyes at the two main characters.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the worst of a declining series that initially showed a lot of promise. Now it is very juvenile and reads a bit like the Famous Five crossed with porn.
Boring and somewhat off putting, I thought I'd shoot myself if I had to hear about the Heroine's "Incontinence" issue one more time. So banal.
No doubt it will appeal to 16 year olds of limited reading experience but to me, I just got to the point where I couldnt push myself to read it any more.
Wow. I dnf'd this book around the 50% mark because I decided there was no reason to make myself finish this book. I really liked the first three books in this series, but pretty much all of the spin-offs have been duds. I picked this book up because the premise sounded interesting, but it was executed pretty poorly.
I have two main issues. 1. The main character was pathetic from the very start of the book. It's not even the fact that she had to have somebody else save her because I get that it was an awful situation where she felt stuck. My problem is that she continuously groveled to her friends and then was all "woe is me I was powerless before but I have decided to become a bad bitch." I just didn't like her.
2. The insta-love was not great. And when I say not great, I mean it was super annoying. They were basically obsessed with each other from the moment they met with no room for growth.
One more small thing is that I really didn't like how all of the characters from the previous books were so involved in the story. I wouldn't have minded a few pop-in moments, but I think we only got around 15% where Sam and Len were alone.
So, yeah. I think I should stop picking up books by this author.
Which is kinda a shame because I liked Len in the previous book. I did not like this book a lot, but let’s focus first on the positive things. I’m finally done with this series! Also, the smut was decent in this book, although a bit over the top.
As for the parts I did not like, literally everything else. The worldbuilding is not great and confusing. The characters are just so annoying the whole time. Shadow is just an asshole. Mera is the most annoying person I have ever read about. Len and Sam were okayish but also nothing special and a bit boring. Also, all the freaking babies? And they were like these weird god babies. No, thank you.
Either way, I struggled through these last books, and if I learned one thing from this, it is to quit when you're not feeling it. Don’t bother yourself with books you clearly do not like
I'm not sure I was prepared for the sheer amount of HEAT in this book. I feel like the author 100% cranked up the heat and had every intention of melting kindles.
Now, I know that the preceding books are all 18+ romances and I should've known better, but Glamoured had all the makings of a slow burn: lost memories, disappearances, murky histories, etc.
But fated mates DO have a tendency to trump other tropes, lol. Len and Samantha are HOOKED in from the get-go and they take us on a wild ride.
Here's what I loved: 1. I adored the bit of a surprise we get at the beginning of the book -- I loooove books with this trope and while I won't spoil it, I will say that it delivers in every possible way! 2. I'm a freaking sucker for fantasy and fated mates. And the fact that we get to see multiple couples (bc obviously we are going to see the whole Shadow Beast pack) is icing on the cake. 3. The way the story comes full circle with the histories/legends and the underlying mystery in the book.
If you've loved every Shadow Beast Shifter book thus far, then you'll certainly want to add this book to your collection. It's a classic Jaymin fantasy novel: you get laughs, steam, and lots of world-building. With that being said, this can totally be read as a standalone! Go for the DL!
It’s so bittersweet to be at the end. I LOVE this world and these characters so much! SO FORKING MUCH! I miss them already and I hope that one day there will be more to this story but for now I’m just grateful I discovered it when I did. This will forever live In my library. Goodbye for now.
I wanted to like this so badly but I just… have problems with it. So I love the magic system.
But good lord was this book kinda a train wreck. All the characters just felt the same. They all talked the same. The dialogue for the 25 year old girl was the same as a 1000 year old fae? It just really takes you out of the moment. The over use of the word fuck and fucking was… a journey. It was used a whole 268 times. It was so excessive. Not to mention the spicy scenes we got were so weirdly placed?… in the middle of the quest when everyone is around? It just felt odd. … and as an ending to the series I felt like a lot of things weren’t wrapped up enough
No i kolejne sceny seksu, które z zażenowaniem omijałam. Na plus jedynie to, że akcja jest wartka i coś tam przyciąga jednak, żeby się dowiedzieć co dalej.
I wasn't as excited for this book as I was for the last one, but I still wanted to read it. First I would like to say it is well written. However, Sam as a character (in general) did absolutely nothing for me. Whether it be in Mera's story line or in Sam's own I found her flat. Her personality didn't really make sense to me or rather, I never connected with her. Also, there seemed to be a lot of fill in this, and I feel it could ha e been rapped up in a novella. I found myself skipping pages because of the lack of forward momentum. The whole premise of Tabby (the baby she didn't remember having) seemed very far fetch. Yes, she recognized the child as hers, but it seemed to reach too far into the 'OMG another memory wipe' big issue almost had me throwing in the towel right away. Overall I'd say 2.5.
Also, I'd like to say sorry if this is rambling and makes little sense. It reflects my metal state after reading the book.
I’m not going to lie, finishing this book hit a little different. I feel like I’m saying goodbye to my best friends. The world that this author created was amazing. And I am truly in awe of her brilliance. The events that had to happen to lead up to the events in this book… my mind has officially been blown. I loved how easy Len and Sam’s love was. From the very beginning they were connected and it flowed without conflict, beautifully into a perfect love story. Of course it wouldn’t be right if they didn’t have to save the worlds just one last time. The ending was perfect but with a few loose ends that could potentially branch into more stories, but the overall plot arc is finished. I early look forward to more if Jaymin decided to bless us with another book. But for now I’ll have to be content with this ending. ❤️

A perfect ending to a brilliant series byt i want more please😭 i want Galile to find his mate too and how about Alistair? And who are those two who are part of the 12 gods? And the babies are absolutely adorable aww. Thank u Jaymin for this wonderful series and i am hoping and praying that there will be a spin off to this series please.
My favourite Jaymin Eve series. I love this world and all the characters in it. Winter Storm were a kickass couple to read about. I wish their courtship had been longer before the main drama but otherwise this book was perfection.
How can this be the last book of this series?! I’m not ready to be done with this world of characters. This book deals with Len and Samantha. They overcome so much to be together and deal with their world ending. I have read this series from the start and I am sad to see it end. I plan on looking into more books by the author and see how I like them. I feel this is my favorite book in this series.
No one creates supernatural worlds and captivating magical characters like Jaymin Eve- and after the spectacular Shadow Beast story and the epic love story between Shadow himself and Mera, I was so excited to give back into this world. These characters were captivating, the chemistry scorching, and I love how the world keeps expanding. The plot is dynamic and so brilliantly constructed. Jaymin is the queen of world building- and this story sparkles with it. I''m obsessed with this world!
