This novella was written by a former student of mine, so there is some unintentional bias. However, connection to the author aside, I am severely impressed by Eleni’s writing in A Different Kind of Perfect. The topic is not one that has been overdone and reads as a world that **spoiler alert** WAS poised to become the world of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World. Eleni’s writing is easy to read, and the descriptions she uses are unique but spot on. My only reason for giving this novel 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wanted more. This story had great bones and good muscle, but I wanted more meat. I wanted more details, back story, connections, etc. A 4 out of 5 stars is vastly unfair to this young author, because she wrote a fantastic, easy-to-read story. I hope she continues to write and publish more stories in the future.
