Rhiannon Janae is a female writer residing with her girlfriend in New Jersey. Rhiannon has been writing ever since she was young as an outlet to use her voice, she wasn't comfortable expressing in spoken words. Rhiannon hopes to connect her words with those who suffer from grief and codependency. Rhiannon has suffered numerous losses of those closest to her and hopes those who have also suffered can find a form of healing through her words.

Oh, how I love poetry collections.

This book is exactly like all the other poetry collections I have read and not any different, which is already pretty telling on how deep this goes. It is generic and something you can find on Pinterest in a few seconds when you look up "deep romantic quotes" or something. I know it is a free verse but god, at this point it is an excuse to publish whatever and call it poetry.

There is really not too much to say to the poems themselves. I hate to say it, but I can wring those poems out in a few hours. Which does not mean I am good at poetry, but it is more telling about how this isn't good either. This is just comparing your partner to the moon, stars and flowers for a while, and then stuff about healing and moving on which is so generic that I heard some of the stuff almost word for word in a YouTube video I watched yesterday.

I would not be so harsh if it didn't cost so much money. Additionally, it is a waste of paper. The poems are everywhere and there is barely anything going on. Some poems are just a sentence, but of course, they are broken up into multiple smaller sections to draw the thing out. It is more a collection of shower thoughts in a weird formatting.

there wasn't a character per se, but the poet did well in touching upon subjects that pretty much can be relatable to most people. i'm not sure if the title really lived up to what i read exactly but because it touched upon subjects that can relate to others, the personal touch of the title name stayed relevant.

[A Hopeless Romantic's Booklandia]

Back in September, I had planned to read poetry a little more regularly and I kept up with that for maybe a week or two, but once October hit, I just wanted all romance, all the time, particularly Halloween romance there for awhile and I just had no burning desire to pick up any collections. I haven’t really felt the urge for poetry since then and I was looking for my next book when Words You Never Thought You’d Hear was recommended to me and my interest went through the roof. I don’t know what it is, but I just love titles like “The Words I Never Said/The Words I Wish I Said/Things I Wish You Said” you get the picture, so when I saw this title, I thought that it was different and I loved that!

I skimmed the synopsis, but I had pretty much already decided I was going to read it, so I did and I loved this collection! I’m so happy that Rhiannon Janae has found happiness, peace, love, and healing and that she encourages her readers and tries to affirm and empower them to love themselves and that healing is possible. It was a beautiful book of poetry and there was definitely more than one poem that I really loved and that touched me. It was so wonderful and I would love to read her again!

This poem collection is divided into 4 different sections: Becoming,Jupiter, Homecoming & Breakthrough. I thought the poems were short and sweet very Instagram caption like. I was able to resonate with alot of them. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the formatting on the kindle. Below are a couple of my favourites.

“we fell in love while watching each other grow”

“you are not your pain. your pain is a part of you. a part that stings, but then turns into tiny seeds where flowers will once again bloom, and in time, you will shed into new growth”

Usualmente este tipo de poemarios me destrozan el corazón, hasta ambiente la atmósfera. Puse música, prendí vela y abrí la persiana para que entrara la luz del sol… y nada. Ni una sola lágrima de sentimiento.

I read this after reading “let me fxcking cry” and I am so happy that she got her happy ending. This book made me realize that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Where there is darkness, the light will soon shine. It takes real heartbreak to find the person to help you heal while still allowing you to heal yourself.
