It’s been two years since Mr Rising offered Ever and her men the chance to work for them. They’ve settled into the job now, but by no means have their lives become any less dangerous. The older teams don’t like how many high-profile jobs they get, and now there’s a mole in their midst, one that threatens everyone who works for Mr Rising; agents and families are in danger.
When members of Ever’s family become under threat, Ever doesn’t take it lightly; Shadow comes out to play, and blood is spilt.
Just when they think they’ve got it all figured out, Mr Rising gives them some news that changes everything Ever thought she knew.
Nothing stays in the past for very long.

It wasn’t easy getting their first break in the publishing world. Fortunately, a close friend and literary agent saw their potential in 2000 and that was the beginning of the first chapter of their professional literary life. Since then, Nikita Parmenter Author has published a number of short stories and bestselling books.
This book makes me question why I liked the first few books. There is something stale about this one. Like a key ingredient is missing or the author is trying too hard to continue a series that should have been retired.
Maybe it's that it skipped two years and I feel I don't know the characters anymore. Or maybe it's that they didn't grow or mature at all in those two years. I feel like the characters went to sleep and woke up from a coma two years later. Time has continued but they are clearly stuck in the past.
Just binge read all books in this series except book 8, which hasn’t come out yet.
The cliffhanger wasn’t exactly a cliffhanger- saw it coming a mile away. While I liked the mystery part of it, i did end up skimming as things started to feel repetitive. Still, I liked the characters and series overall. I
Not my fave book out of this series, this is still one of my fave series. I just feel like the book is kind of going slow in the first half of the book and then the last 20% the pace is going up a lot and something is happening. I would love a mix of action and also just see these guys live their life and grow. I was not that surprised at the end as i think people will be, i was having my suspicion of that but not 100% sure ofc but i got it confirmed with Rylie at the end. I am really excited where this will go!
I feel like the series should have ended with the last book, this book jumps two years with them still at the job mentioned in the last book. They are working to find a mole in the organization, that plot point is not my favorite. Honestly, my favorite part of this series is just seeing their everyday life, feels like an extended epilogue. But this is not the last book, Riley is returning, don't love that. Not shocked by this turn of events, Ever had been wondering the whereabouts about Riley for a while. I wish the author stuck with her decision to ditch her in favor of adding Peter. The books are feeling lackluster the longer this series gets, wish the author would have ended this one and opted to write about one of the other many harems mentioned in this series.
ummm ima be honest, i almost gave this book two stars, but as it didn’t seem to bore me much and the end was really interesting, i’ve decided that this deserved three stars first of all i think i missed a little bit of their actions and complications because until the last 20% of the book we literally had nothing to work on but that 20% shocked me, gave the action that i needed and even made me cry (jensen if you had died i would’ve drop this series immediately) i’m hoping the nexts ones are a little more interestin go and have more action because i really miss that now i know we are going to deal with our girl rylie and i hope she’s fine and finds her new family my favs are still the ones that i listed but honestly they are all in my heart ever and her best friends are hilarious and i literally love them (really hope that there’s a space for rylie) i feel that we are missing too much information from the past (as this book tells the story after two years) and i don’t know if their are going to appear in the books later i’m feeling kind of sad that i’m coming to an end of this perfect series but let’s not focus on that

agghhhhh!!!! I didn’t think this was going to end on a cliffhanger!
I thought that I waited til I had all the books before I started to read this series and as I was going through book by book and how addicting they were I was so glad because I didn’t have to wait and now I have to wait! Don’t get me wrong I am SO beyond happy this series does not seem to be over because I absolutely LOVE these characters but I don’t want to wait! I hope it comes out soon because I want to know what happened to Rylie, is Liam and Ever’s mom still alive, who was the man mentioned at the end of this book, and who killed Jenson’s mom and sister? Plus I really hope we see some of the mushy happy stuff to in all the teams lives plus more of the new team to the family!
A great continuation of this series, though it isn't complete yet!
When I read books 1-6, my only real complaint was the horrible punctuation, grammar, etc. In this book, it was a LOT better, though still not perfect. That's pretty much the only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5.
Story wise, I'm still hooked! There's still unanswered questions, but now that I know the series isn't complete, I'm waiting for them to be answered in the future. The ending has a little bit of a cliffhanger, but nothing too crazy (I hate when a book ends in one and the next one isn't out yet!!). I'm not going to be ripping my hair out, yelling at my phone, demanding answers that it can't give me, at least!
Another amazing instalment in this series, a fast paced storyline full of action. The guys and Ever are all working officially for Mr Rising as one of his teams. Great to see them with their own home and cementing their life together. The dangers increase in their new role, the older established teams disliking them. The jokes they all play on each other are hilarious but love the camaraderie they have with all of their friends. Ever and all her guys are so hot together, plenty of spice in this book. Can’t wait to see what happens next in this story , such an exciting book.
This book was great. It was fabulous. It was better than the last few books.
We get plenty of dirty scenes with the guys at least one with each. Thank you very much Nikita!
We get introduced to a new bad guy, and we get an answer to a very long term question since Book 2 I do believe (literally the answer is the last word!) Interesting development!!!
My only grip is that it still feels like Nikita favors Atlas, Trick, and Jensen over all the other three.
I'd like to see more POV from the other guys just a little bit.
GAH! So that started off kind of slow and I was getting slightly impatient, but I knew it would all be worth the wait. I wasn’t wrong. That was another amazing book. It’s been a couple years from the end of the last book and the kids are all grown up now. Working full time for Mr R. All of the crews are back and changes are coming both personally and professionally. I definitely cried a bit and that ending leaves me begging for more. I may have guessed that ending, but there are soo many other questions left to be answered, it is still so incredibly good! I can’t wait for the next one. 5⭐️ 2🌶
Review of Deadly Betrayal by Nik Parmenter * * * * * Honestly I read this a while ago and forgot to review it (that's life) but even after a long time it left an impression like the rest of the series. Highly recommended read for those who are lovers of reverse harems, hot connections, drama, action, darkness and just mind blowing crazy awesomeness! It's incredible how this series is still going! Indeed, the series should be put to rest as it is getting very long, but I am still very much enjoying it!
A great start to a new story line for Ever. Its been a couple of years and Ever and her men are still working for the secret agency. Unfortunately there is a mole in the company and Ever's team has been tasked with finding them. Boss man thinks its a great idea to keep all the active teams at a retreat when things start to escalate. They have to find this mole fast or things are going to get ugly.
to start off i’m not okay after that ending and am desperately waiting for the next book, i thought the cliffhanger wasn’t going to be that big but it is and omg i never would have thought of that, the writing is phenomenal and the ideas are even better, im really hoping marty and noel get together at some point in the next book cause i’ve been shipping them for god knows how long, this book was hands down amaizng
Wow so much went down and so much is still going on. There were a few happy surprises and some devastating developments. That ending was shocking mic drop moment I’m still in shock . Marty needs to get his crap together he’s hurting Noel and that’s annoying the crap out of me .
Loving that cliffhanger. Glad to see a friendly face returning. I have given five stars because the ending was so nicely rounded off, however I’d’ve given 4.5 if possible as I feel like I wanted more action/plot scenes but that’s me being utterly pedantic. Think this is my favourite Parmenter series now.
I love love love this! It feels like an extended epilogue but so much better. You get all the teams and Ever and her guys are so solid. It is nice to read a book where the relationship is the last thing to worry about plot wise and you know there is a solid foundation of love and support and psycho moments 😉
This book was seriously amazing. I love hearing more about Ever and her guys and the amazing family they have surrounded themselves with. I love the new people who have come into their lives. That ending has me shook. I hope there is more coming and quickly because that needs more answers!!!
Absolutely love love this series. To be honest I’ve loved all of the series by Nikita Parmenter. I started with Imprinted tattoos and then Ever and Jynx’s story and can honestly say I will never get bored of reading these books. Can’t wait to read more and find out what happens after that cliffy!!
There isn't anything I didn't love about this book!!! I love Ever and her guys. Lyric and her guys! Even Jynx and hers!!! I'm not exactly sold on Zemira and her guys yet, but we'll see what happens!! I'm not really looking forward to anything with Rylie, though. That kinda fizzled out once she ghosted Ever. I'm anxious for the last book so let's see!!!
Omg that was a wild ride. Words can't express all the ups and down they have put me through. I can't believe the ending. He'll I can't believe all that has happened and how the guys have evolved. I absolutely love my girls though Ever, Lyric, Jynx, and even Zemi. Can't wait for the next book as I pick up my jaw. Amazing
This book is a little laid back in the action from the first 6 as we get to see Ever and her family come close together and adjust to their new job. While trying to find a mole in their department and we may finally get answers to questions that we have been waiting for in the next book
Loved every second of it although the part about saying do u have to take so much glee in telling that story is brilliant.... you are awesome and I love these books
Once again Nikita has knocked another book out of the ballpark!! This addition to Evers story was the perfect mix of down time and action. And holy crap that cliffhanger!! I'll be waiting so very patiently (lol) for book 8!!
For some reason I thought that this was going to be the last book in the series but I was dead wrong and the ENDING???? That is something that I didn’t see coming. I am absolutely so excited for the next book to come out to see what happens!
They’re dangerously addictive so be prepared to leave everything else in your life waiting until you finish the entire series. These are the books that I put on my calendar because when a new one comes out, it’s an event.
Another amazing book by Nikita Parmenter. This one picks up about 2 years after book 6. The story is amazing, though be warned the cliffhanger is a doozy. Made me gasp, then cuss like crazy that I have to wait for the next one.
Wtf that is what I said a few times well more than that in this book. So good twist and turns I didn't expect. I knew is was going to be something to do with Rylie. And I bet Mr r is her uncle. Omg can't wait for the next book can I get a sneak peak lol.
I loved that we got to see so many loved characters. The little bits of everyone’s lives we saw made me so happy. I can’t wait to see what happens next as that reveal at the end was rough.
