Turns out werewolves exists. And I am being offered to them to the highest bidder.
Adelaide
Getting fired just before the holidays is the worst. What’s even worse is not being able to find a job. When my co-worker comes over and offers me a chance to get some real money to hold me over it’s hard to resist. With little information to go on my desperation gets the better of me and I go. Turns out it’s an auction. And the prize is me. Being almost broke makes me desperate but is it worth it? I guess I’ll find out. Because I just got bought by a werewolf. And he looks hungry as ever.
Ciaran
I was here because I gave up on finding a mate. It was my duty to continue my lineage but I wanted to do it with someone that I loved. But after centuries of walking the streets alone I figured love was possibly overacted and I should move on. Then I see her. A dark haired delicious beauty who gets my attention in an instant. She’s mine, I think. And I will pay whatever I have to go get her.

Do not hesitate to pick up this Christmas paranormal novella! It will be such a good read!
My only question is: Can Ciaran buy me too?! 😻 After Adelaide loses her job she finds herself in a slight situation where she is auctioning herself to some paranormal men. Although she doesn’t know who’s going to buy her or what the rules are in this auction she finds herself stuck with Ciaran. The good thing is Ciaran is every Lycan lovers dream 😍 Ciaran is just what Adelaide needed in her life. He literally worships her and it just makes their love story even better!! The only thing I wanted more of was pages to read. I do not mind a quick read however I just wanted more and more from Adelaide and Ciaran. This will have you wanting to pick up some more paranormal Christmas novellas to read!
The premise is the silliest thing I’ve heard in awhile: the FMC gets laid off from her waitressing job and instead of just moving on, she decides to sell herself at a creepy auction. Sell herself for what, you might ask? For how long? What are the terms? She doesn’t know and doesn’t ask! Who are the buyers? What’s to stop Hannibal Lecter from coming in and purchasing his next meal? Absolutely nothing!
Luckily the book doesn’t keep you in suspense for too long, as it’s a PWP breeding kink fic from here on out. The auction is for one year of the FMC’s time and the use of her body as a breeder for whatever supernatural creature wins the auction. If she doesn’t pop out a kiss within the year, she only gets paid half, but if it’s because she refuses to do the deed, she gets nothing. (In other words, she doesn’t even get paid up front, which is wack!!) She’s told that she’s not allowed to go anywhere in the human world without the MMC, which is weird because she has a cat and an apartment, and then later on she mentions buying presents for the MMC “on her way home”, but we can’t expect too much thought to be put into our short stories, now, can we?
The most irritating part is that the book lays out this one-year premise, setting it up like they’re going to take their time, but then the entire plot takes place over the course of 3 days, with grand “I love you”s and Christmas presents and everything. Such a waste, but alas.
I liked the premise of this story a lot. Adelaide and her friend lose their job and are desperate for money so they sign up to be auctioned off as breeders. They're both dropped into the paranormal world quickly as they're purchased by two Lycans (though Sandy is kind of forgotten about entirely). As fun as the concept is, the execution was a bit lacking.
I'm not a huge fan of pet names in a relationship right off the bat. Ciaran calling her 'my love' almost as soon as they met was weird to me. The whole story happened over two or three days, so it was weird for either of them to jump straight into the 'I love you's and the like.
Adelaide taking a pregnancy test right and having it come back as positive a day after they'd had sex didn't seem realistic. I've never had a child, but my understanding was that it took longer for that sort of thing to show up on a pregnancy test. I suppose it could be different with him being a Lycan and all, but that took me majorly out of the story, as did some of the dialogue during the sex scenes.
I love the idea of someone being auctioned off to be with someone else and them falling in love, but I think this could have been executed better.
After Adelaide gets fired a friend talks her into selling herself at an auction. She doesn't realize it's a shifter auction and she will need to live with whoever purchases her for a year and have their baby. She is so desperate she decides to go through with it. This is a good erotic shifter story where Ciaran, a lycan that after centuries finally finds his mate at this auction. But will he be able to get Adelaide to stay with him forever. This is a very good erotic story and I enjoyed reading it. Lots of steam and fast paced with a great HEA. Exciting read. I received a copy from the author and bookfunnel and this is my honest review.
i enjoyed reading this romance story. I have enjoyed this author from the first book I picked up. Her writing style as well as her attention to details make her stories steamy and pop. This book is no different. This is a well written story where the characters bring their world to life on every page. They are connectable and I had no problem picturing myself in their world. I enjoyed how they pulled me into the story from the start. They have great growth and their chemistry is off the charts. This is a fast paced, hard to put down, engagging story that you don't want to miss. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more. I highly recommend this book.
If you’re looking for a quick pnr with shifters looking to mate, look no further. Adelaide just lost her job and is having a hard time finding another one. When her ex co-worker finds something that might help her, she was desperate. But she ends up at an auction, being sold to the highest bidder. And that bidder is a lycan, Ciaran. He’s roamed the world looking for his mate so he can produce offspring to continue his lineage and he was running out of time. He knew the moment he saw her she was it. Though it was very fast paced, it was a good story and it gets steamy. Can’t wait to read more.
Dropped straight into a world she never knew existed must have been a bit shocking for Adelaide, but she seemed to take it well and, in fact, she didn’t bat an eye. Okay, so she did agree to auction herself off as a breeder, but did she expect to be bought by a Lycan? I loved Ciaran’s restraint until Adelaide was sure of her decision, but once she agreed there was no holding him back and it was pretty much sex, food, sex for the remainder of the book. Everything happens really fast in this story, so perhaps it’s not too farfetched for her to know she’s pregnant after just a few days, after all stranger things have happened in the supernatural world.
Adelaide is fired during the holidays. She can't find a new job and her former co-worker tells her about an auction where they can earn a lot of money. Desperate and with no other option, Adelaide agrees to sell herself. Once she gets there, she is bought by Ciaran, a Lycan who is instantly attracted to her.
This is a short read, but highly enjoyable! I really liked the characters and their interactions. Ciaran is a real cinnamon-roll! The story is satisfying and will leave you smiling. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute but spicy short Holiday read!
I absolutely loved this one! Adelaide was struggling and had gotten fired from her job. Her friend suggested an auction that could help her make some money, so Adelaide signed up. Ciaran went to the auction because he was lonely. Little did he know that he would find his mate. These two had such instant chemistry. I loved how sweet Ciaran was and how these two both knew right away that their connection couldn't be denied. Great read!
There's a lot to unpack in this one and it was delivered in a quick read package.
We have humans and monsters (multi hundred year old lycans specifically), we have lust at first sight in an auction setting, we have wish fulfillment as a love language, breeding, knotting... oh my! Lots and lots of shmexy times...
Aila has a way of jamming a lot of story into a fast read. I would totally read this one if it was longer.
I requested and was provided with an advance copy of this book. These are my honest opinions.
I really enjoyed reading this short paranormal book.
Adelaide meets Ciaran when he had bought her at an auction . It was instantly he knew she was his mate. They immediately fell in love . I think this was a beautiful story. I read it in one sitting and instantly needed more. Even after the bonus content I wouldn’t mind looking into their lives and when they have their baby. I enjoyed these characters. So if you like a paranormal romance with 🌶🌶🌶 then this is a must read .

I picked this one up by accident, so I went in blind. It is the first Lycan/shifter story I have read (I am not counting the Twilight series here). The concept of the story was good, the characters were likeable and even relatable. I liked where the story went, but it felt rushed ~ given that it is a novella I get that, but I would have liked more. This one genuinely peaked my interest in the Lycan world, I would definitely read more.
I LOVED this one. It's a short novella that I read very quickly and wanted more. When Adelaide loses her job and has no other prospects she enters an auction. Ciaran looks human but that is not all he is. They are perfect together. If you want a short read with lots of spice I highly recommend this.
This was a sweet and steamy paranormal love story. The plot was simple but it provided enough structure for the multiple steamy parts. Definitely read the bonus content if you aren’t put off by nonhuman fudging it is well worth it.
I received an ARC of this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Adelaide needed money after being let go from her job, desperate she put herself up for auction. Ciaran has been around for years, being a shifter he had given up on finding his mate. At the auction he notices Adelaide when she got up on stage and knew she was his. This is a great fast read with a bit of action and danger and off the chart heat that grabs you from the start.
I know it is being picky, but you brought him up a couple of times. Then when the auction happens and she's at his place. There's not one acknowledgement of the cat. I kept thinking, we'll maybe if they go to town they'll pick it up.
So even thought it really good that just kept it from being 5*
This was a great paranormal romance. Ciaran is a Lycan and has given up on finding a mate, so he goes to an auction to find someone to breed with. Little does he know that he will find his mate in Adelaide and the chemistry is off the charts. Great read!!!
Loved the instant chemistry between Ciaran (wolf) & Adelaide (human). They started out in an unconventional at and loved seeing the story develop into HEA. Great short story & lots of spice. Definitely worth a read.
Short - insta love - lycan and human romance. He purchased her for the sole purpose of getting a baby but come onnnn 😅 she was pretty 😍 He was a respectful big lycan and she was down from the first time he got close enough for her to smell him.
This is a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed this story. The characters are well written. My two things that make it a four star, One a few too many hiccups, and two there is a time jump that isn’t explained. Otherwise a really good story.
In an alternate universe, those that are only in fairy tales are real. And can only have offspring with humans?
Adelaide just lost her job and her former co-worker found an opportunity that would help them both out. The only catch is, they have to give up a year of their life to be a breeder for those that go bump in the night.
Enter Ciaran, who wants a mate but knows he needs to have offspring and continue his lineage before it’s too late. And it looks like he’s getting both.
Adelaide and Ciaran get their happy ending in this stand-alone book in a series.
This was a cute book. And it could be set any time of the year, though it was explained why Christmas time. I do wonder if supernatural pregnancies show up sooner than human pregnancies as Adelaide shouldn’t have been able to test that soon and have a positive result. But otherwise, a great fated mates book!
Oh, for those not opposed to lycan on human sex, the bonus epilogue is great and you should check it out!
I received an advanced review copy for free from the author and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
