chicas después de leer el de pie grande este fue una papita, no puede ser que llegue al punto donde los tentáculos me parecen lo más normal-ish del mundo
Honestly, it‘s surprising how well this novella is written and how above average the dialogues between the different characters are regarding quality when looking at other novellas and books of this genre/category (aka, to put it simple, smut/steamy romance). Additionally, what was kind of shocking is the fact that the relationship between the male main character and female main character was healthier than many other ones that I have witnessed/saw/read about. Consent is always being established, so wow to that *insert applause*. (Yes, I am aware that consent is the bare minimum, however, let‘s be real, is it that common in romantic books/movies nowadays?.. Exactly, that‘s what I thought, it‘s, in fact, not.) Nothing exceptionally bad was being romanticised in this book, in my opinion, which is admittedly an important criterion for my high rating for this novella.
I don‘t even want to mention and admit that I would have folded so fast after hearing some of the phrases the main male characters said to his second half… Let me just offer you some example-quotes:
1) “Who the hell are you?“ “Your soulmate. Your soul called to mine from across the dimensions. I heard your summons.”
2) “I was waiting for you to attempt an escape,” his voice low enough to make my skin tingle. “The hunt is never fun if the prey doesn’t struggle.”
3) „I‘ve lived centuries alone, but none of that matters now that I have you.“
And listen, somehow, at this point, I don‘t even care that this 4-star rating and positive opinion potentially brings my sanity and mental state into serious question. Here I come, restraining order and being put on a watchlist hihi!^^ I stand by what I said despite some crazy/disturbing moments that happened in the plot (because you guys should keep in mind that it‘s all not even real, it‘s JUST A FANTASY, something that has very low probability of ever happening and it’s an imaginary romance). It‘s also quite clear that it‘s 100% unserious and the author plays on that, in my opinion. So just relax, have a great laugh and take it easy, folks!
Overall, my recommendation is to proceed this book with caution!!! 11/10 craziness level… Read the plot summary here on Goodreads and know that it tells you EXACTLY what to expect. So if that‘s not your cup of tea, totally suggest you to skip it because you might be traumatised otherwise!!!
Siggy Shade needs to be arrested IMMEDIATELY. We cannot let this man continue to have access to any sort of writing materials. Also, maybe it's time I start going to church again.
This was such a waste of my time, and I regret every second!
I think this book was just an excuse to write kinky porn about an octopus. Like, what’s going on here? This whole book is basically sex. That’s it. I read another book by this author before, and it also had an unusual main love interest, but at least there was some plot. Here? Nothing. Just sex. And honestly, I have nothing else to say. What do you want me to say? This was bad. I think it also made me realize I don’t like smut in book!
I’d seen this book around so naturally, I was intrigued. It promises monster smut and it fully delivers. I won’t lie the spice is hot for that specific trope, considering that if someone goes into this book, they definitely know what it is about.
But there is always a but I did not like the writing. It felt blunt and confusing and utterly it didn’t do it for me. At all. However, if you are fine with the writing and want to read monster smut, that might be a solid choice.
Well. I definitely read a book. It was an experience. Would I recommend it? No. Would I do it again? No. But do I regret it? Also no. The fact that I’m even adding this to my goodreads is so embarrassing but whatever, its one more for my reading goal of the year.
No plot, no characters, no vibes -just sex. with some kind of weird creature that I still cant imagine in my head, it was so hard to get a picture of what he looked like? The writing was also generally bad. The dialogue between the characters was annoying, bland and uninteresting and the characters in general were just… meh. Part of me wants to give it 2 stars because I somehow got through it but no it’s actually just one star
